Laksa Shop Is a Reason to Visit Bryant Park This Holiday Season | Eater NY
"I visited Laksa Shop at the Bryant Park Winter Village on opening day to try Cassandra Lam’s Malaysian laksa pop-up; it’s the first time she’s stayed put with the pop-up after hopping around bars in Brooklyn and Queens. The through-January menu is a slender two dishes: a curry laksa with shrimp in a chicken broth teeming with shrimp and fish balls, and a vegetarian version in a miso broth with shiitake mushrooms and tomatoes; both come with buoyant noodles, crunchy sprouts, herbs, and lime, and are priced $14 for a small and $18 for a large. The sumptuous curry soup is famous for its silky, creamy orange broth that stains—so I sat with a Tide To Go pen at the ready. Lam launched Laksa Shop in 2022, works with chef Lizzy Singh-Brar (who has appeared on Chopped), prepares the soups in a Queens commissary, and assembles them out of her new stall in the park." - Emma Orlow
