La La Rice - Review - Sawtelle - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"La La Rice is a Thai spot in West LA that doesn't believe in ugly food. Your fried rice is garnished with orchids, spring rolls are served in banana leaf cones, and you can sip on a branded coconut that looks like a welcome gift from White Lotus. It's these nice touches that help make La La a fun, kitschy Thai option on the Westside: expect solid takeout staples, plus more experimental dishes that are more uneven. The crispy wings in sticky yellow curry and a panko-crusted sole in a tangy tamarind sauce definitely work, but you can skip the gloopy panang curry with fried crab. If you're in the area and want to avoid the nightmarish parking on Sawtelle, La La Rice is a decent option with enough flair to make a casual dinner feel like an occasion." - Sylvio Martins

Google
My first time here. The place is very clean and decent size. I have tried many Thai places but this is definitely my favorite. The Food is Excellent. Great flavor. I had the lunch Special and the portion to the price is very reasonable. Will be back for sure

Google
This place was so fantastic that I dined here twice in one week. Full of flavor and generous portions, this cozy little place offers so much variety that it's literally hard to choose what you want to eat. Fast service. Highly recommend the coconut shrimp and pad see-ew. I got the combo, which comes with shrimp, chicken and steak, which was a little bit too chewy for my liking. I wasn't a big fan of their chicken either but, elhey, I didn't leave any leftovers.

Google
One of our regular spots! We order to takeout most times but we do go there too. The place is cute. The service is not always consistent though. We love the food!! We’ve brought family and friends. I love how much veggies they give in the drunken noodles. The butterfly lemonade is sweet but so good!

Google
Having lived in Thailand for several years, I always crave authentic Thai food and this place is it! The flavors are beautiful and they use high quality ingredients. I would say they rival some of the best places in Thai town. Not to mention that their plating is beautiful and the ambience is very nice. Definitely recommend the Pad Thai (tastes like authentic pad thai, not the red sugary noodles many other places make), the papaya salad made with the crispiest fresh papaya, and the mango sticky rice, skillfully made and “not too sweet.” I’m surprised they haven’t attracted the attention of food critics yet but before long they will for sure. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Google
Lala Rice Amazing food and great service! The flavors were spot on, and the portions were just right. The staff was friendly and made the experience even better. Definitely a place I'd recommend for a tasty and satisfying meal! The two female host, were delighfully wonderful and so pleasant. Adding to the wonderful experience, as we sat there enjoying our meal. The place is pretty calm and relaxing. Thank you, Tania and to the other host "I didn' catch her name.

Google
Omg everything’s so amazing here, I even forgot to take pictures when the food came! Their flavors were authentic, with my favorite drunken noodle and Green Curry standing out as some of the best I've ever had. The atmosphere was cozy, clean and fresh, the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, food came so fast too! I think it’s perfect for both a casual dinner or a special night out( they serve alcohol btw). And look at how cute the desert is!! Highly recommend this Thai restaurant and I'll definitely be coming back!

Google
I saw this one yelp, and the food looks great in the photos. I came in today at around 5 PM, and there weren't customers by the time I sat down. The food and taste were great, and everything went well until some shady move suspected. When we were about to pay for the bill, we noticed the tip amount in the card machine was set to $22 (they use one of those portable payment kiosk). The amount is not preset by the machine (not those suggested tips you would usually see). It means the tip amount was input before we had the kiosk. I can't say who did this or if it is an accident, but I would avoid coming back here again. FINALLY, if you happen to dine in here, ALWAYS CHECK THE PAYMENT KIOSK BEFORE CONFIRMING!!!

Yelp
Oh my God this is my new favorite place. Everything I've ever tried is wonderful. The fried chicken is crunchy and tender and delicious. The noodles are delicious. I like the dark purple rice. I'll post more next time I go and maybe take pictures if I can stop myself from eating it right away.

Yelp
A little reluctant to post this review because I would hate for this to be another hot spot that I can't get a table at. BUT here we go. We've been here twice now and so far every single dish that we've ordered has been nothing short of amazing. Like AMAZING. My bf used to live near Thai town so we tried a bunch of different spots and have found that this is the best Thai spot in all of LA (so far). We do have reservations for Anajak next week so hopefully I'll remember to update my review if my opinion doesn't change. The place is very cute and almost looks like an American brunch spot and service is very friendly. May be part of my top 3 list in LA.

Yelp
Good pad thai. Got the lunch special. Came with a very small soup that had nice spicy flavor and a bit of fresh salad. I enjoyed it all. Good size portion, tasty dish. Easy online ordering and was ready right on time when I went to pick up. Clean little shop.

Yelp
Heavenly. The service was fantastic and friendly. The food came out quickly. The restaurant was very clean and inviting, plenty of tables. They have lunch specials as well that seem to be a bargain. I was in between noodles and soup, so I got noodle soup lol. The coconut like noodle soup was like a Tom yum with noodles. Soooo flavorful And a great portion. I had left overs which I enjoyed the next day. Tasted just as good! I can't wait to go back and try more items from the menu!

Yelp
I thought the food here was very good. Seems to me that they are using high quality ingredients. Their chicken tastes great--sign of a very good Thai restaurant. Many Thai retaurants suffer getting the chicken right. Get chicken in your dish. They only gave me 5 shrimp in my Spicy Eggplant with Shrimp dish which was a bit low amount for the price which adds on extra $$ for Shrimp. Should really have 10 Shrimp. But the Shrimp was very good. And they don't give you a ton of chicken in those chicken dishes either. Don't kid yourself--it's expensive to dine out in Los Angeles and this Thai restaurant is no exception. Expect to pay about $50 plus gratuity for 2 people to dine in here for just main dishes and non-alcohol beverages as a baseline. You are not getting out the door for less than $50. If you order Apps and alcohol, you are in the $75 to $100 range for 2 peeps. Parking recommendation: They have a shared free parking lot and there are spaces--but if you like your car--try to park on the street. Parking lot spaces are so tight they are ripe for dings, pings, and dents. Regarding service--Well--they were efficient and got the job done--but not the warm and cushy I prefer. But again--it's LA--nothing here is warm and cushy. No one came to the table to ask how we are doing--just here are some menus and what do you want? But they did ask what we wanted over 5 times during the meal so we were never forgotten.

Yelp
Some of the best Thai food in Los Angeles. Huge menu and every dish is amazing. Nothing bad here. Try the Thai fried chicken! Where else are you going to find blackberry sticky rice??? Soups are 5 star. Enjoy! The decoration is relaxing and the atmosphere is warm. Friendly servers.

Yelp
It was so good that we came back with 10 of our friends. And everyone was happy. Delish!

Yelp
This is the gem! What makes this Thai restaurant stand out? It's exterior design but once you stepped in, you will be welcomed with loveliness. The interior has a beautiful touch elegance and simplicity. The food! Everything was on point! The Tom Yum soup especially got our attention. It's our new benchmark. The balance of sourness, saltiness and sweetness were on point. The papaya salad was super fresh, crunchy, balanced and spicy (according to your liking). The Calamari was tender and crispy. Perfect with siracha mayo that came with it. The Prik King was creamy, yummy and full of flavor. I got some of the sauce and poured it on my rice. Heaven! The Pepper and garlic with crispy pork belly was delish! It was amazingly tasty and the crispy pork was a treat! The Thai iced tea was refreshing and calmed the spiciness well. We finally ended with one of the finest comfort dessert - the mango with sticky rice. Service was excellent! Food came out fast, fresh and hot! Excellent! Highly recommended. What a gem! *Update* My wife and I recently tried Luv2eat in Hollywood. They are Michelin star restaurant BUT we like Lalarice better. This restaurant easily deserves a Michelin star IMHO.

Yelp
A friend recommended this place to eat for lunch and it was my first time. We ordered the following for three people and it was a good amount of food. - Pad Thai - Papaya salad - Crying Tiger - Coconut Shrimp cakes - Panang Fillet of Fish Of the 5 items, my favorite was the Panang Fillet of Fish. Wow, the fish was crispy (even though it was in the curry) and it was a big portion. Spice was a good and not too spicy. I would get this again. Least favorite was the Coconut shrimp cakes. It reminds me of shrimp balls you can get at dimsum. The flavor was there, but coconut shavings made it a miss. the shavings were chewy more so than crispy. I think this item would be good if the restaurant can figure out a way to make it crunchier. I enjoyed everything else we ordered. Lunch on sunday was not busy the day we went and we were seated right away. Only thing is that there were a ton of flies flying around when we were eating and kept having to shoo them away. I personally dont like flies and would recommend to the restaurant to perhaps buy some sort of equipment to kill all the flies before customers come to the restaurant or maybe one of those fly swatters. Other than that, I would go back!

Yelp
Got food poisoning from the pineapple fried rice the second time I visited this place. I think this place reheats pre-prepared foods rather than making fresh food. Both times I visited, the food came out way too quickly (5min) and was lukewarm like reheated food, as opposed to something that was freshly cooked.

Yelp
Amazing thai food and the plates are beautiful. Coconut lime noodle soup, tom yum fries, and pineapple fried rice were the standout dishes for me. Small parking lot in the front and plenty of seating indoors. Really clean and decorated!

Yelp
This is a solid little Thai restaurant that my husband and I came to for dinner on a Sunday night recently. We used to live in the area and I'm surprised that we didn't come before. The restaurant is located in a strip mall area, with a carpark onsite. There are several other eateries and businesses located in this spot. One thing I really liked about Lala is that they have a huge variety of dishes on the menu here. I decided to order a Thai sukiyaki that night, which I've never seen on a restaurant menu anywhere else in LA. My husband got the Pad Thai, which is his usual order. I thought it was quite good here. The atmosphere here is relaxed and casual but pleasant. The restaurant was about half full when we came in around 6. Service was efficient and friendly. I would recommend this place and will return in future.

Yelp
Yummy food but the service is not good . They don't really care customers much. Not friendly and not asking what you need . Even there is not busy customers.

Yelp
Ordered through DoorDash after work and they got my order wrong :( I had ordered the Tom yum fried rice but ended up with regular Thai fried rice. I was confused because the receipt on the bag said Tom yum fried rice too... not sure what happened, but I was too hungry to complain. It was good, but didn't stand out for me. Came back the next weekend to dine in and tried the Tom yum fried rice, green curry, and pad Thai. Food was much better this time since they got my order correct and the Tom yum fried rice is a MUST try!!! Thai green curry was very flavorful as well!! Pad Thai was okay. Restaurant was clean and had a cute vibe. Staff were friendly and quick. Will definitely come back when I'm in the area again for that Tom yum fried rice!

Yelp
I live in the area and didn't find out about Lala Rice Thai Eatery until I looked up Thai restaurants on Yelp. I came here to celebrate my birthday back in February. This spot reminds me of another Thai restaurant in the area and thought it could be owned by the same people because the décor looks very familiar. I found out in fact that they are not related but a mere coincidence that the space looks identical to each other. The food is good. I mean the main entrees were very flavorful. The Ka Prow Fried Rice wasn't seasoned heavily with sauces like most restaurants make them. Lite soy sauce was used in here and there's a crisp to the bellpeppers used in this dish. Chicken in Green Beans had a creamy peanut taste to it. The spice and creaminess in the sauce worked well with the chicken but I wish I had ordered it with shrimp. I believe the shrimp would've worked best in this dish since seafood is more of a lighter textured protein. My favorites were The Tom Kha soup and The Ginger Chicken. Those 2 had the best flavor profiles. If you don't know what to get, order the Ka Prow fried rice with the ginger Chicken (or your choice of protein) and the Tom Kha soup. That's the trifecta you can't go wrong with. The appetizers weren't necessarily my favorites. I ordered coconut shrimp cakes and wontons that had shrimp and pork in it (I could be wrong about that.) But the coconut shrimp cake was tough and hard to chew. The wantons were not bad when you dip it in the sweet and sour sauce but I thought the filling could've used a little more seasoning. The service was good. Very friendly staff. The price was a bit moderate but well worth the amount of tasty food that was ordered. Definitely coming back here to try their other menu items.

Yelp
LaLa Rice is clean, bright and cute inside. There's not a ton of seating, but it seems like the tables turnover quick enough where there wasn't a wait at the time we went. They take reservations for tables of 4 or more. The parking lot is shared by other popular restaurants like Oops Sushi, Tokyo Galbi and Dominoes. So it gets pretty packed and the spaces are super small that sometimes we park on the street. If you go at an odd hour, parking should be fine. With that said, I'm not sure if I would be a regular. At the peak time of our stay, there were maybe 8-9 tables including my table of 2. There were 3-4 waitstaff to cover as well. They seemed busy, but table service was pretty bad considering the ratio of waitstaff to patrons. Towards the middle and end of our meals, it wasn't easy flagging down people for basics like refilling water, ordering an extra drink. I think this combined with the quality and flavor of our food prevents me from wanting to return here regularly or at all. From our past few visits, I thought my eggplant w/ chicken being salty was a fluke the first time, so I chose another dish, chicken and green beans the last time. Unfortunately, it was pretty bad and extremely salty again. Too much oyster sauce perhaps. Our pad thai was also not very good what made it a texture nightmare were the mushy noodles. Their appetizers are more consistent though and they have a very good banana samosa dessert. But the entrees are not great at all. I may try to give it another go in the future if I'm feeling adventurous, but probably not for awhile.

Yelp
Really great food!!! This is our new Thai spot for sure! got the green curry mild and it was sooooo delicious!!!

Yelp
Ambiance: 5/5 Such a cute place! The restaurant gives off an indoor garden vibe! Food: 4/5 The tofu pad Thai was super flavorful and delicious. I would get it again. The shrimp Tom yum was also delicious and warmed me up during the rain. The mango sticky rice is also delicious. The rice was super good but the mango was a bit sour and it could've used more cream. The Thai tea was good too! Check in for a free Thai tea ! Service: 4/5 Standard service. Overall would go again if I was craving Thai food in sawtelle :)
google avatar

Yelp
Authentic Thai Food! Food: 1. Panang soft shell crab - So good! I personally love soft shell crab. The coconut creamy flavor is amazing. 2. Tom yum - Authentic Tom yum soup is hard to find! This is it though! It has a light, spicy and sour flavor. 3: Green curry with beef - Creamy and flavorful. Beef is a little tough but it is meant to be cooked like that when I tried it in Thailand. I would like to try green curry with chicken next time. Drink: Thai tea- Perfectly made and not too sweet Service: Good and pretty fast Ambiance: Cute and nice * Pro tip: Check in to receive a free drink (Thai tea or Purple Lemonade)

Yelp
10/10 had my lips smackingggg besides the little girl who acted like she's never seen a light skin queen like me. I'm going back the next day so good. You don't always find good basic Asian cuisine. Usually it's some crazy Asian fusion white ppl shiii. Y'all get in this place the ambien inside is adorable and comfy for a strip mall restaurant. I feel like that's always the hit or miss with strip malls. Sometimes they are ghetto and make me wanna leave but this place was so cute. Please support so they stay open.
google avatar

Rodin R.

Yelp
They need help with customer service. Big time. They told me there wasn't any tables for one (I'm up here for work once week and usually come in). Two people came after me and she sat them. She didn't explain do you mind waiting, this is a larger table...she just told me it's a 20 min wait. Sat the two people immediately that came behind me.

Yelp
I'm Thai. I don't eat Thai food on the west side, ever. But I will eat here because it's just as good as Thai Town. I highly highly recommend this for Thai food if you want to have it on the West side. They have some special dishes you won't find in many places either, one of them being the Khao Mok Gai (chicken with tumeric and fish sauce) which is different than Gai Yang, which you can find at Sticky Rice at the Grand Central Market (thats where I go for it). Excellent, definitely recommend !
google avatar

E B.

Yelp
Great dishes especially the fried fish in sweet and sour sauce with cabbage and peanuts! We also had the eggplant with chicken - deliche. The beef pan sauce was excellent, but the beef itself was a little dry. The restaurant is also very cute. The reason for four instead of five stars is that the service is lacking. They do not check up on you and it takes a long time to get what you need.
google avatar

andrea s.

Yelp
Food was extremely yummy! Make sure when you order spicy you mean because they will make it spicy. Parking at this place can be a little tie during rush hours but overall great food! :)
google avatar

Wes D.

Yelp
In a tiny corner space in a small strip of eateries you'll see LaLa. We ended up parked around the corner in front of residential because parking spaces are limited. The servers seemed overwhelmed with the number of customers but after waiting for 10 minutes we were seated at a window table. There were 2 large parties but otherwise tables for 2 or 4 were the norm. Lots of specialty drinks but we went right for the mains, crab fried rice was like my mom's, curry noodle soup dish very tasty and a bit spicy and salad w chicken was nice but needed more lime to me. Altogether very good dinner.

Yelp
The food was literally FIRE !!!! Sooooooooooo delicious! Stumbled upon this place by accident and so grateful I did. The ambiance is so cute, the staff was all SUPER friendly and helpful. The food was all 10/10 with everything that we ordered!

Yelp
Decided on this spot last minute and it exceeded my expectations! The interior is SO CUTE, decorated with modern furniture and a lot of pothos plants. The bathroom was kinda clean. Our server was named Nancy; she was so sweet and made sure to check up on us several times during our visit. Here's what I got & what I thought: Pad Thai (no peanuts): Great! Portion was large. It comes with a lime and mung bean sprouts on the side. I definitely wish my plate had more chicken because the chicken was seasoned well and cooked to perfection!! Thai-donuts: Honestly very filling! Yummy and came with chocolate to dip it in. I originally wanted the crepe cake but they were out. Purple lemonade: Presentation was impressive; loved the flower. The drink, however, did just taste like a regular lemonade to me. (Friend got) Thai Tea: Said it was good! (Friend got) Sticky mango rice: Another great dessert (probably my favorite). Rice tasted like it was made with thai tea and I liked it. The mangoes on the side are softer and sweeter while the mangoes on top of the rice was harder and more sour--- thought it was a nice touch.

Yelp
This place needs WAY more hype. It is ridiculously good on every level. The staff is adorable, the food smacks, and the restaurant is realty cute. I'll keep on coming forevaaaa

Heather G.

Yelp
The food was mediocre and the service was poor. If you're going to suggest a 28% tip on the bill you should learn how to treat customers.
google avatar

Mary D.

Yelp
For the area, LaLa rice is such a solid Thai restaurant. No surprises with the food and doesn't cost too much compared to competition around
google avatar

Bradley B.

Yelp
Really great thai spot. Everything is super tasty from the curries to the noodle dishes and entrees, and some fun options you wouldn't find at a regular thai place. Parking lot is small so just be aware.

Yelp
August 21, 2023: LaLa Rice Eatery is an amazing find! While my friend & I were in the area & my tummy was grumbling, I searched Yelp for Thai food & what a surprise! The flavor of it all nearly left me speechless, because I was so busy eating that I hardly put my fork down! Haha! The food truly is truly that amazing! Drunken Noodle w/Veggies (Shared): Top of the line, it's a winner & an absolute must, plus seasoned to perfection...you truly can taste every single bit of the seasoning one by one! Every single bite was a mouthful of joy! Haha! Simply writing about the experience has my mouth watering! This dish is my favorite! When she asked how spicy, I said spiciest & enjoyed every bite of heat that the dish offered! Eggplant w/Tofu (Shared): Delicious! The tofu was especially seasoned & firm, just how I like it! I was impressed with the dish, as it was a sweet contrast to the spicy noodles! Great combo! Drinks: Refreshing & delicious! We enjoyed both the Thai Iced Tea & pretty purple & yellow Butterfly Pea Lemonade...loved both! First time trying that iced tea w/cream, yum...also, just as delicious without! Vibe: Love the decor, so pretty & tropical! Enjoyed all of the greenery, as well as lighting & warmth of the restaurant! Customer Service: Incredibly friendly, inviting & welcoming, along with a smile & even a sweet goodbye by several servers on our way out...so nice! Our server was surprised that I had traveled to Thailand, after I mentioned that the food tasted like dining in Thailand, as well as the friendly vibe! Haha! Overall: Yes, please! The wildly delicious, flavorful food, amazing customer service & decor has my heart, seems like being in a restaurant in Thailand! I'm already ready to return to LaLa Rice Eatery! Yum! Let's go...and cheers to excellent seasoning!!

Josh R.

Yelp
Service is poor. No one comes to check how the meal is going and getting a server's attention is spotty at best. Food is good, although some dishes like fried green beans are way too greasy.
google avatar

Suzanne H.

Yelp
Very, very good pad thai, not overly sweet, nor is it a congealed mess as in some other restaurants. The chicken curry is also yummy and comes with a good portion of rice. Iced tea is a nice, refreshing drink on a hot day. Reasonable prices. Excellent, attentive service in a nice light-filled restaurant.
google avatar

Carissa N.

Yelp
I came here with my mom for a date day and the place is super cute! The inside decor is so nice! I loved how they separated tables with short walls with plants to give more privacy to the diners. Here's what we ordered: Fried tofu: 6/10 the tofu was hot and crispy but the sauce was on the lighter side flavor wise. I personally prefer a bigger flavor profile with my sauce. Pad see Ew: 9/10 I love pad se ew! This one was really good. On the menu they advertised homemade pickles and our dish didn't have them. Garlic green beans: 10/10 these were excellent! The green beans were also a really good size! Yellow chicken curry: 10/10 I need to come back here and try it a little spicier, my mom can't handle spice so we had to get it mild. But the flavor was so good and the chicken literally melts in your mouth. Thai iced tea: 4/10 this was honestly disappointing. Flavor wasn't super strong, tasted watered down to me. I would definitely come back here and maybe try the coffee instead of the Thai tea.

Yelp
Ample parking, no wait time, great vibes with beautiful decor. Customer service was superb, was handed a menu promptly and checked on frequently. Order the Tom yum soup and the coconut shrimp cakes, wonderful presentation and delicious taste. Would definitely come back to try other items on the menu.

Yelp
So good.! We started with the soft shell crab with some type of Mayo sauce that was creamy and savory. It was so good!! Then we got the papaya salad-- first time trying papaya salad and it was the bomb.com. It was spicy too! The steak was tender and juicy and I loved how it came with veggies to cleanse the palate. My least favorite was the drunken noodles which came with too many vegetables that weren't cooked all the way through so it was still crunchy. However, they gave a lot of meat which was nice but I personally love drunken noodles for the wide noodles which there wasn't many of. The restaurant is so cute and really clean! I loved how they had real plants on the side of our table instead of the dusty plastic ones at most other restaurants. The service was also quick and efficient. Definitely will come back!

Yelp
When I first came in I had to do a double take to make sure I was in the right place, the interior was amazing! The lighting was great, the plants added a comfy feeling, and the furniture fit well with everything else. Boat Noodle 4/5 - This was good! I wish there was a larger portion for the price, however I still enjoyed it. The taste was there and it hit the spot. If the portion was bigger I would've given it a better score as it was $18 at the time of writing this review. I would probably get something else next time. Mango Sticky Rice 5/5 - The rice was amazing and the mango fruits we so tasteful. Plus do you see that presentation?? Wow. Fried Banana 5/5 - This was soooo goood. I would absolutely get this again and probably every single time I go. I was hoping the portion size would be larger but it still hit the spot. Lastly the service was okay. The workers were not so attentive to us while the restaurant was fairly empty. Overall no complaints. Overall I would come back again for sure, I enjoyed my experience there! :)

Yelp
Great food. Attentive staff. Free parking!! Lots of take out business which makes me believe that their food must be consistently good!!

Yelp
The service is excellent. Everyone is very nice and accommodating. We've eaten here maybe 6 times and have loved every dish we ordered. Pad see ewe, drunken noodles, yellow and pang curry, are excellent. Tom yum soup is great and I don't order it normally. You must try the crispy beans and the fries. Seriously, very good Thai food.

Yelp
Came for a meal with some friends. The place has been on my radar for a while and glad I got to come. The place is small with maybe 15 or so small tables. The vibe and design is nicer than I expected with some nice decor and the music is nice and pumped up but just soft enough to add some ambient sounds. The menu is hefty and after looking for a while decided on a lighter dish of the Yum Woon Sen Salad. It's a clear noodle salad with some vegetables (celery and mint), some minced meat, and then 3 shrimp. It was refreshing and had just enough sauce/dressing to make it flavorful but not drown in dressing. It was a lot of noodle and I wished a little more vegetable and herbs. That said, it was still good and I had to mix it with a bowl of rice. The dish was $16 and the rice was pricey at $3 but it is what it is. Overall a pretty good meal and enjoyable. A bit pricey overall but maybe reasonable for the westside. I'd come again but not on a regular basis.

Yelp
I'm so happy that I've found a Thai restaurant in LA that reminds me of my favorite Thai place in SF when I lived there almost 9 years ago! From the moment I entered the restaurant I was greeted with a friendly smile from one of the wait staff and asked what table I would like to sit at while I waited for my friends to join me. The food is not only delicious, the presentation is definitely food porn worthy! In fact, I've never seen mango sticky rice presented in the stunning way that they do (see attached photo). Every single dish we had was beautiful and delicious! How many times can I say delicious in a review?! I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for delicious Thai food, reasonably priced and spectacular to look at!

Yelp
My friend brought me here when I came by to visit and it was DELISH. The space is so comforting with soft lighting and plants all around. The servers were so sweet and really make you feel right at home like you're visiting a friends place for dinner. We got the Tom Kha soup which was so perfectly coconutty and had a great amount of meat and mushrooms. It stayed warm throughout our meal too with the flame. The STAR of the show though were the TOM YUM FRIES. Perfectly crispy, had that tart lemongrass flavor I love so much in Tom Yum and a really nice citrus aioli. Once I started I couldn't stop and it comes in such a cute basket so that's an extra little plus. Also had the pad Thai which was standard but if you get the seafood they have 4 giant mussels, white fish, scallops, squid, and shrimp. Worth the extra $10 for seafood since they are generous. Anyways can't wait to come back again!

Yelp
I was in Marina Del Rey, and when dinner time came, I had a desire for Thai food at a restaurant I had not been to before. While there were many eateries in the area, we decided to give La La Rice Thai a try. On arriving there, the small dining room was packed, and we got the only table available (right by the entrance door). At the onset, the menu was immediately enticing. There were selections that you generally do not see at other Thai spots. We ordered a hot pot of Tom Kha with chicken, Spicy Chili Fish, and Thai Spaghetti with Salmon in green curry sauce. It took about 25 minutes for the Tom Kha to arrive, but the wait was worth it. The soup was vibrant, had robust flavor, density and a smooth mouth feel. Over 10 minutes later, the Chili Fish filet arrived. It was nice and crispy, but lacked the optimum spread of sauce over the dish, thus depriving it of reaching a higher level of satisfaction. Time was passing by and our last dish, the Spaghetti Salmon, was still MIA. What disturbed us most was that numerous patrons that were seated after us, had already got their food. Finally, after we passed the 50 minute mark, my friends had enough. Reluctantly, and in disappointment, we cancelled the Salmon order, and called it a night.

Yelp
The calamari was crispy and tasty. so was the pineapple curry: sweet well balanced, delicious. I got the combo. The meats are tender and nice. The pad thai however was too sweet and somehow lacking egg. It's quite strange in texture. Love the plan and the decors. I came here on a busy day, service was friendly but sometimes takes a while to get their attention. Overall, a delicious restaurant and nice ambiance. I will definitely come back some time.

Yelp
THIEF THIEF THIEF. Stolen guest's information and credit card. I have never experienced a stolen card at a restaurant by a server once in my entire a life. Usually we come pick up the card after we forgot. Not getting stolen by the business ever. And this is not even after one day we left this place.
