We just happened upon it after its sign caught the corner of my eye! Couldn't have asked for a better foray into Persian cuisine. Highlights off the smaller plate menu was the quail and stuffed eggplant dish. For dessert we had saffron ice cream which was incredible. Love-love-loved it! Service was great and our waitress was super informative about the dishes and the favorites. Charles Street is a beautiful location to boot.

A pretty cozy restaurant! As a Chinese trying Persian food for the first time, I was not quite used to the taste of food at the beginning. But the service was really outstanding!Definitely go again in the future. But it's a pity that they don't open at lunchtime. 味道怪怪的,但是服务很好

The service is not always good but could be really good if you have a nice waiter. The food is more American-Turkish than Persian. Try the lamb or beef dishes such as the kofta kebab, lamb shank, or beef rib. The short rib is one of my favorite meat dishes in Boston: stewed to tender and melt-in-mouth served with sweet braised carrots. If you don't mind the lamb stink Id recommend the fried brain and BBQ liver. Really flavorful proteins with interesting creamy textures. The fereni(rice pudding) is a bit overpriced (9$) but is definitely worth trying. The combination of distinct rose flavor and mixed fruit is amazing.

The food is so so... However, the atmosphere is good. The front desk lady came TWICE to collect our feedback... Dunno why XD

Our first time at this restaurant and my first time eating Persian food! I've certainly been missing out! Our waiter was absolutely fabulous, wish I could remember his name, he was incredibly accommodating, hilarious, and made really fantastic recommendations considering so many of us were new to the cuisine. Everything was delicious and brought out in a timely fashion and the prices were completely Fair, especially for such an interesting and unique meal. We can't wait to come back and bring more people!

The food here is excellent, and even if it isn't authentic Persian food like some others have commented, that didn't matter to me. It was still delicious! The venue could use an update, but that doesn't really bother me so much, as I go to restaurants for the cuisine, and the cuisine here is fantastic!

I actually just played a gig there! The decor is really quite nice and the management there is extremely friendly. They made you feel like family and make sure that the food is good and that you're doing well. It's also in a really nice and quiet location in Beacon Hill. I definitely would recommend this restaurant; and who knows I might see your there sometime in the future!

I went to Lala Rokh based on the recommendation of a Persian friend. Open Table showed my only two available times for my reservation, so I was somewhat surprised to find the restaurant was almost empty when I got there at 6:30 on a Friday night. I was warmly greeted when I arrived, and found the staff to be very attentive and friendly during my meal. The food was also excellent. I got the lamb shank, and would happily get it again if there weren't other things on the menu that I would also like to try. The only downside to me was the ambiance of a nearly empty restaurant. While it did start to fill up due to some large groups coming in, it was a little too quiet for me. Perhaps I was just there too early.
