The spring fling cake was an absolute hit! The decoration was perfect, the cake was moist and the cream cheese frosting tasted incredible with the fruit. We will definitely be ordering again!

I’ve found Lala’s Bakery not too long after The Market closed after a frantic search to quell my spring fling obsession. I’ve been here many times (maybe 15 to 20 times) to get the iconic spring fling and I’m sad to say I’m disappointed this time. We paid $86.00 dollars for the cake and the cake was much smaller than I normally get….like a whole layer smaller. It’s usually three layers and we only got two. The fruit tasted overripe with some tasting incredibly sour and tart which has never been the case before. The frosting was way too sweet this time and when I ate the frosting by itself it tasted like the frosting was left in an open container in the refrigerator and took on the taste of the rest of the fridge. The cake was not as beautiful as normal the frosting is usually more stiff and the cake is uniform and the sides are smooth. As you can see in the picture it’s like blown out on the sides. Im really sad, I get this cake every year for my birthday and for my sons birthday and unfortunately after this visit I may have to search for a new bakery for my spring fling 😞 it’s too expensive to spend this kind of money and not receive the quality we normally do.

This is an excellent Spring Fling cake!!! The zucchini cake is so good! Oh the frosting!!!! Snap! snap! snap! The cream cheese frosting!!!!!’ This frosting tho!?!? I can’t begin to think about this frosting without a Pavlovian reaction. I wake up in the middle of the night thinking about its richness. If me and you were to be eating this frosting, and you asked me how it was, I would say: “It’s terrible. You should give me your portion so I can dispose of it properly.” Fully knowing that it is in fact, not at all terrible. It’s overly delicious and m I would eat it off of questionable surfaces. I would say that tho hoping that you would give me your portion. I want to consume it in quantities of buckets. And it comes in vegan!!! How do they do it?? I digress; it’s delicious is my point. The lovely people at this bakery are so sweet and always hand me a quality crafted beautiful delicious cake. My mom and grandmother regularly request this cake for birthdays and special occasions. Highly recommended.

The best birthday surprise! My friend got me the strawberry cheesecake from this bakery for my birthday, and wow—it was incredible. Super creamy, just the right amount of sweetness, and the graham cracker crust was so good. The whipped topping with fresh strawberries took it to the next level. I couldn’t even pick a favorite part because every bite was amazing. Definitely recommend—whether you’re celebrating something or just want a treat, this is it.

The Springfling cake is just delicious! I have been ordering cakes since they were in their previous location. Only once was there a minor error when they misspelled a name on a cake. But other than that they have always been polite and their cakes have always been tasty!! :)

Spring Fling cake has always been a favorite and when I found Lala’s for my birthday cake I was not disappointed. As a former owner of Happy Cakes Bakeshop in Denver, I am picky about my desserts and Lala’s spring fling was amazing. Beautiful and delicious and everyone loved it. I always love supporting small women owned businesses and this was well worth it.

This is the best keept secret ever! Ms. Lala, I think that's her name was super sweet, and I was soooo late picking up my spring fling cake, but I called her, and she was kind and forgiving. With a small extra fee even waiting for me to come. People, if you remember The Market downtown that closed? We'll she has the sauce to be the boss. This cake was to die for simply AMAZING experience 😋 Oh I can cut cake well, lol.

Lala’s did an awesome job on my daughter’s 2nd birthday cake! Everyone who tried it loved it, we did the mixed berry chantilly and it was a very nice balance of flavors, not sickly sweet and very tasty. My kid practically buried her face in it so I’d call that a win! Good people, quick turnaround, very reasonably priced. Definitely worth it, thanks so much!

Lala's lemon poppy spring fling is my favorite cake ever! Very fresh and flavorful, and each time the cake is absolutely gorgeous. Perfect for celebrations or gatherings.

I am so happy to have found Lala's Bakery! specifically for the Spring Fling. Since The Market closed it has been difficult finding one that measured up. The cake was amazing! I will never forget anywhere else!

Note: all orders are done via their website. Address for pickup only. Last year the wonderful coffeehouse/bakery/eatery "The Market" closed on Larimer St in Downtown Denver. The former bakers at The Market have opened their own bakery where they make the famous "Spring Fling" cakes as well as many others. I ordered a carrot cake for a birthday and it was wonderful and just like the cakes I used to get at The Market. Highly recommended. Love it!!! Just like the cakes at the previous Larimer location. The ladies at the bakery are just so kind & amazing & very timely. They accidentally made Mango cream cupcakes instead of Mango Fling but they owned up to their mistake & not only corrected their order but also gave us the Mango cream cupcakes too! What a way to run a small business. I am coming here for all of my cupcake/cake needs! Thank u so much for carrying the Spring Fling legacy!

My wife always loved the spring fling cake from The Market and wanted it for her Birthday from LaLa's. LaLa's did not disappoint, was just as she remembered and perfectly moist. The online ordering and pickup process was super smooth. Highly recommend giving LaLa's Bakery your business.

Lala's provided our cutting cake and cupcakes for our wedding! All of the guests raved about the flavors, and the care and detail they took to decorate each cupcake was amazing. They offer a wedding flight of cupcakes for you to try out different flavors of cupcakes. Would highly recommend for any event or wedding!

They definitely make cakes just like the market. I was so sad that the market closed. Spring fling cake was literally my favorite cake in the world, so much, I used it for my wedding cake - Which was a hit for almost everyone! Thank heavens Lala bakery has come to the rescue with the same bakers from the Market. I used their online order request around 4-5 pm on Friday, I did not hear back from them so I contacted them via yelp messenger to make sure they received my request. My order did not go through, but luckily they checked their email or yelp regularly and that helped. My only suggestion for improving this process (since their orders are placed only online), is perhaps use a program (ie. google forms) that allows the clients to also receive a copy of the order request so we know the order is processed, especially since the website stated specifically not to resubmit any request to avoid duplicates. Also, it would help if the website stated Lala bakery will call you directly to invoice you, and I did give my credit card info via the phone. (I do wish they took another payment service). However, that said, they did reply promptly and I did obtain my spring fling cupcakes for a family dinner - which was an absolute hit. My grandmother in law, who is a baker herself (mostly for pies), said this was the best cupcake she's ever had in her life. :D Spring fling, for those who don't know, is a zucchini cake (you cannot taste the vegetable, but it makes the cake more dense in a good way and moisture) and the filling/icing is cream cheese based and not too sweet (which always drives me nuts when the icing is way too sweet). There are some fresh fruit on top as well. I have yet to meet anyone who did not like their spring fling cake. My husband (who doesn't even like desserts) have agreed to get a spring fling cake every time we come back to colorado. So Lala bakery - please please please do not close. If you do, I'll lose my mind. THanks so much!

When looking for a cake, I could always go to Sams club or king Soopers. Although they are very generic. Until I found Lala's bakery, Now I have to look no farther. A kind and friendly staff, as well as amazing owners. They were very helpful in helping me plan a beautiful and fun birthday cake. I could tell they put a lot of time and effort into this cake. Very fair and reasonable prices. I also ordered some cupcakes of their spring fling and Mixed berry. They were all very rich, moist and delicious but most of all the very very fresh fruit. I will definitely be coming back for all the cake needs in my life. and recommending them to anyone in need of a bakery. Thank you ladies so much for the best cake and experience.

Did their online ordering through their website since that is the only way they take orders via email. I had emailed them earlier this week on 9am Thursday to place a cake (Spring Fling) order since on their website they only needed 24 hours in advance or one to two days prior before the event. I needed the cake for Saturday, but never received no email confirmation or invoice for the cake. This bakery should establish a better way to order cakes through them rather than just emails as emails can get lost or sent into the junk inbox. Very disappointed since I have read some reviews about their spring fling cake being good and comparable to The Market's spring fling cake.

Never found it. I drove around for 15 minutes in some warehouse district. I wasn't expecting it to be a commercial bakery. Disappointed in incorrect info and misinformation.

Not really expecting it, I paid $65 for a cake that literally had to put in the trash. I don't know why my name wasn't on their list and I had to show them the payment confirmation email and she just said, "ok I'll find any cake in the fridge for her". I honestly don't know when this cake was made, the cream felt hard, the cake was dry and a filling with almost no fruit. really disappointed, not the same quality.

My friend brought me these white cupcakes with strawberry/blueberry on top and butter cream topping. IT WAS SO DELICIOUS OMG!!! I want more!!

If you love gansitos, you will love this cake! If you DON'T love gansitos, you will love this cake! The cake is a nod to the popular snack, but with elevated flavors and textures making this cake out of this world delicious. I know Lala's is famous for their spring fling cake, but this cake is also a delicious treasure. The cake is moist and dense (think pound cake) with a tangy and fresh fruit filling, paired with sweetened cream and a rich chocolate ganache. The order/pickup process is unconventional, but well worth the wait and the drive. @Lala's- phenomenal work!

This bakery is extremely yummy and everyone loved the cupcakes and cake. I do wish you could call to make an order because any changes you'd want to make to the cakes or cupcakes has to be done by email. I'm not a fan of cream cheese frosting so I changed it to whipped cream frosting and it is delicious! I definitely recommend this place to anyone who misses the market on Larimer!

Great spin off from The Market on Larimer St. Their spring fling cake looks identical to the legendary spring fling cake from The Market. It's beautiful. However the cake itself is not consistent with fruit inside and often very dry. I've purchased spring fling cakes from here three times and only one out of three was the cake moist and delicious. Until the cake recipe and the bake times are perfected I'll be buying elsewhere.

They have really good cakes. Beautifully decorated and the frosting is not too sweet. Definitely recommend.

This is the first review I have ever taken the time to write on yelp. A friend brought over a Spring Fling cake for my going away party last weekend and I can't stop thinking about how great it was! So delicious I'm picking one up to take with me on my move next week. Wonderful flavor, texture, and fresh perfectly ripe fruit in it. For someone who cake is their favorite sweet, this is definitely top 3 cakes I have ever had. Would recommend to anyone. Love that it is run by a badass group of women. If you are considering trying it, just say yes. Congrats Lala's!

I was so relieved to hear that the famous Denver spring fling cake was back via Lala's bakery. I ordered the 9" for my partner's birthday and it was wonderful. The cake was even better than when I bought it the year before at the market! In addition, there was a huge snow storm in Denver over the weekend and the team at Lala's did an awesome job helping make alternative arrangements and communicated wonderfully throughout the process. I will definitely be back again!
