This place is very eclectic! So many details throughout the restaurant! The food is amazing!! I had the salmon, which I’m very picky about where I order it from. It was delicious! Other people in the party ordered the shrimp scampi and chicken Marsala which they said was excellent! Great selection with drinks. I had the lemon cello martini, top notch!

Google
Lala’s was the best choice we made for our wedding! The food was incredible, the staff was so kind and attentive, and everything was organized perfectly. We loved it so much we came back for our anniversary! Jeannie made the whole process super easy and worked with our budget. Highly recommend for any special event….or even just a great night out!

Google
Lala’s catered an offsite rehearsal dinner for my son and his fiancé, who both happen to be vegans. Since we chose to do the pasta bar, we were able to have both vegan and non-vegan protein options. The guests had their choice of protein, toppings, and sauce, which was then cooked at the bar table. I had shrimp and chicken with artichokes, spinach, tomatoes, and red peppers in a pesto cream sauce. It was absolutely delicious! The staff was friendly and provided excellent service. Even though I live an hour away from Lala’s, I will definitely be dining at the restaurant in the near future.

Thanks for the outstanding service Richard! Easy to see why your regulars love you! Beautiful cocktails mate 🤤 The food was well worth the hour+ travel. Seriously, I'd commit new felonies for the Prime Rib French Dip.

My husband and I came here for the first time to celebrate a birthday. The initial service was quick and our waitress was nice but she was constantly distracted by a couple sitting next to us who she must have known personally as they got most of her attention and she kept sitting down with them for extended periods of time. I even overheard another waitress come up and interrupt her saying she forgot to put in another table's order. The appetizers were really good and the drinks were really good. The entrees were mid at best. Definitely not worth the price. The asparagus were cold and had no flavor. I had to load them with salt to make them have some kind of the flavor. The "mac and cheese" was simply penne noodles with alfredo sauce. The parmesan fries were decent. The $59 steak was simply not worth $59. I could've gotten the same steak for $10 at Texas Roadhouse. Leaving the restaurant spending $166 + a tip was definitely just not worth it. Also, our waitress being so distracted by the couple next to us, she forgot to give me my debit card back after taking my payment. She set the receipt down and went and sat back down with the couple. Then I received a call after my 20 minute drive home letting me know they still had my card at the register, so I had to go back and get it. Just not an overall great experience. Wouldn't recommend this restaurant, especially for the price.

Google
Incredible place to celebrate a special occasion or even just have a night out. Each member of our party had a different dish and were amazed with how delicious they were. Great service and experience all around.

My sister and I hosted a bridal shower luncheon for my niece on January 27 with 43 guests. It was an absolutely wonderful experience! Jeannie Hopkins was a pleasure to work with in planning the details, the staff was totally attentive to our needs in setting up, the food was outstanding, the mimosa bar was constantly well stocked and the service was amazing. The pricing was very reasonable and it was money well spent. Many of the guests said it was the nicest shower they had ever attended. I could not be more pleased with the whole event. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Google
Had an amazing experience. From a great steak and rack of lamb to the anchovie stuffed olives, the entire outing was a joy. Our server Rhea was great. I ordered a Pittsburgh rare strip steak, which came out perfectly cooked, delicious. We were seated near a window and fall colors and beautiful atmosphere helped make an incredible night. Thank you for keeping this awesome place in the lakes.

Yelp
3.8 is my score, but this review only includes drinks at the bar and "Happy Hour" specials. LaLa's is a nice Portage Lakes restaurant but is becoming dated and needs some attention. Service is good and they are known for their Prime Rib. At the bar we had wine (Happy Hour not a full selection) and chilled shrimp, loaded potato skins (2 halves of a baked potato) and 2 piece chicken with jojos. The shrimp were large and tasty. Loaded Potato Skins were large and delicious. The Fried Chicken was disappointing in that it was overcooked and dry. We didn't send it back, but didn't finish it. A nice place and I'll have to return for a full sit down meal.

Yelp
Lala's has a charming vibe and a really inviting atmosphere--definitely the kind of place you want to like right away. The setting is cozy and the staff was friendly, which set the stage for a nice evening. I ordered the gnocchi with sweet corn sauce, and the flavors were actually pretty pleasant. The sauce had a nice touch of sweetness and paired well with the pasta. That said, I found myself wishing there were more gnocchi and alot less broccolini--the dish felt a bit veggie-heavy for something where the pasta should be the star. A more balanced ratio would've made it feel heartier and more satisfying. One small detail that stood out. Our waitress had very long acrylic nails--like 3-4 inches long. It didn't affect service, but it was a little distracting and raised some hygiene concerns. How does one wipe and clean under those things. They also reach over the plate and into the food. Not a dealbreaker as long as she shortens the nails to something reasonable, but something that might be worth rethinking in a food service setting. All in all, Lala's has a lot going for it--great ambiance, friendly service, and creative menu ideas. With a few small tweaks, especially in portion balance and presentation, it could easily become a standout in the area.

Yelp
Six of us went there for a birthday celebration. Server was good and friendly. Food however was lukewarm, delivered in stages to the table, one didn't get het dinner for about ten minutes. Manager came over , asked how our meals were, and when told of our complaints didn't really acknowledge, made excuses and walked away. Would NOT recommend this restaurant with the prices they charge. 6 meals, none worth the price. If you're going to charge for fine dining, then provide fine dining.

Yelp
Went on Fat Tuesday special. Ordered frogs legs pretty good Shared low country boil with husband. Good. But dessert. Lala. Puff pastry does not make a beignet. Shame on you.

Yelp
Went for my daughter in law's Birthday. Four meals and all excellent. Then they brought out a huge chocolate cake birthday desert Staff and service excellent

Yelp
We recently dined here for a milestone celebration. The staff and service were very good, attentive. We were seated in an extremely noisy section of the restaurant. I should have asked to be seated elsewhere...my bad for not doing so. Conversation was difficult due to the noise ( a large party nearby and a pianist). The food was good, for most part, just way overpriced. We had the large charcuterie board, which was quite tasty, just not worth $55.00!! I'm never impressed when I'm charged for bread, like is done here. My chicken Marsala was decent but too much butter and oil in bottom of the dish. No drinks, no desserts but bill came to $300.00 for 4 people. It's highly doubtful we will return.

Camille K.

Yelp
Food was good. Server charged random price for my drink bc no button in system. After a long discussion, turns out she ordered the wrong drink. I did question the way it tasted and she said that's how they make it. Even the manager argued until she realized what it was I was supposed to have. Then she finally changed the price. Good thing I didn't have an allergy. I was charged $12 for a $6 drink.

Yelp
Lala's is a unique experience. I'll call it a hidden gem, of sorts. We decided to give it a try and made a dinner reservation for my husbands birthday. The exterior of the building is beautiful, however the inside leaves me slightly perplexed. The decor is... strange. Imagine a mix of a high end steak house, Cracker Barrel, and your grandmas house. Again, strange. I was feeling a little "uh oh" upon initial impression but WOW-- was our service and dinner absolutely amazing. We started with calamari steak and a small charcuterie board. Nice portion sizes and both delicious. My husband had the salmon and I had the grilled romaine salad with filet added. Hands down, one of the best salads I've ever had. Since we were celebrating, our server treated us to a crème brûlée desert which was also incredible. We've been recommending LaLas to our family and friends and can't wait to come back!

Mike B.

Yelp
Food was amazing! Steak is huge, Brussel sprouts are delicious, and cheesecake is very good. Very nice inside. You get what you pay for. Pricey

Yelp
I walk in, and the Christmas decorations are still up(it's late January). A waitress comes over and takes a gold platter away from each of our seats, not sure why that was there. After about 20 minutes they ask if we want appetizers, we order the calamari, one of my favorite foods. The calamari its self was actually pretty solid, best part of the night, along with the optional aioli, however the strange sauce they coated it in was not very good, it was an odd tang flavor that did not go well with the calamari. There aren't many good options to order off of on the menu, so I pick a ceaser salad. The salad comes out about 20 minuites later, in a bowl that looks as if it is staring me in the face, it is angled oddly. The salad itself was lacking in flavor, the dressing was a small amount, but did not taste like a traditional caeser dressing, everything else about the salad tasted bland. Including the chicken which tasted awfuly moist, and tasted as good as shake n bake chicken. Overall very dissapointing. -Taco from the Hungry Hungry Hippos 1/10

Yelp
I would have given them 4 stars for the ambiance and the food, which was great. However, our wait time was extremely long. Even with our reservation it was an hour. I would like to give a shout out to the server (wish I got her name) who apologized for the long wait, offered a discount on our meal and comped dessert. That was excellent customer service, as we never complained about the wait. I would try visiting again though.
google avatar

Isabella B.

Yelp
Great portions! Decent service but dated ambiance. Carrot cake could be improved upon: WAY too big and not enough cream cheese frosting. 8/10

Biff B.

Yelp
Old, outdated decor and overpriced food. Got the specially burger and it was mediocre at best. Stuff you can make at home. Wife got the Scampi pasta. Scampi was tough and rubbery. Waiter was pleasant but took forever in between table visits. Place seems understaffed. Don't waste your money. Restaurant robbery in an antiquated, out of style and worn out eatery.

Katie W.

Yelp
I never post reviews. In fact this may be my first one on yelp. My husband and I went here for our wedding anniversary. The food, service and atmosphere did not disappoint and in fact Lalas was exceptional. We had the goat cheese balls as an appetizer. Wow. Such flavor. Our dinners were delicious and the apple caramel cheesecake will be in my dreams for days to come. Our server was kind with impeccable timing on all our food. There was a piano player there which made the night even more special. Highly highly recommend this restaurant!!! We can't wait to go back!!

Yelp
If I could give them 6 stars I would. We decided to go to one of their dinner and wine tasting special events. We are very glad we did! Meal included charcuterie with Prosecco, fois gras with a South African white wine, grouper with peach salsa and a Chardonnay, pesto cheese mezzalina in a mushroom truffle sauce with Pinot Noir, beef cheeks Ragu with potatoes confit and a delectable Cabernet sav and a flourless, but none the less yummy chocolate cake with a Syrah. On top of the wonderful food, the service was outstanding. The owner, manager, and staff were very personable, friendly, and on top of everything. Additionally, the chef and wine expert came out before every course to fully explain everything and were quite knowledgeable and professional. We will definitely be back for dinner during regular service.

Yelp
We were looking for a romantic dinner on a Friday night in UCLA ( Upper Canton Lower Akron ). LaLa's delivered on all fronts. Piano music playing in bar, linen tablecloths, soft lighting and a menu that encouraged a dining experience. My wife enjoyed the pork chop while I had the lamb chops. We enjoyed our mains but the Brussel sprouts stole the show. They were charred with bacon and a Thai chili. Absolutely try the Brussel sprouts. We took home some chocolate cake which was rich and delicious. Service was attentive and friendly adding to our wonderful evening. If you are looking for a place for quiet conversation, enjoying a meal in an upscale and beautiful setting then make your way to LaLas
google avatar

Chuck L.

Yelp
What a great experience, this is the former Anthes (high end) Restaurant so the building is beautiful, the setting is perfect and the food and service were all upscale as expected. Lisa has the staff and chefs working well together and in the current Covid times it just a pleasure to find and have a really good restaurant experience. We started at the bar with plexiglass dividers keeping us safe from other patrons. Our drinks were perfect. I chose a fish special and I'm sorry I didn't write the name down, it was delish. We laughed and talked while a keyboard player entertained and added so much to the evening. Thank you Lisa... Like Arnold Schwarzenegger said... I'll be back.

Devin L.

Yelp
First time going, and this service was exceptional. Our server was Preston, and he was delightful. Pork chops with Brussels sprouts and truffle mash potatoes and pesto zoodles were phenomenal. The scenery was decorated so cute and festive. Definitely will be going back!
google avatar

Veronica L.

Yelp
LaLa's does such an amazing job at creating an experience! When we come here, we feel like we are royalty. The decor is beautiful. I can stare around and get lost at all the work put in! Definitely a place to feel treated! The staff has always been super nice and professional! They always decorate for holidays. The food is delicious too. It's more high end dishes, but they are delicious and beautiful plated! Cocktails are great, they have martinis! Overall, I recommend LaLa's to anyone! Great place for a getaway!

Lynne B.

Yelp
We have a wonderful evening at LaLa's!!! It was our first time & it was a delightful place to celebrate a 78th birthday! Great food & service & they made the evening soooo special

Yelp
Went for drinks with friend. Ordered drinks and they made what I ordered but when the bill came they claimed they made them with top shelf liquor and added a considerable up charge to the price on the menu. The drink was weak so I didn't taste any difference. No help when I asked about it. Our server just blamed us because we didn't specifically using "house" liquors. Seems like a slimy way to push up the bill on unsuspecting customers. Not exactly the fun relaxing kind of place we were looking for. Suggest you go elsewhere.

Luther J.

Yelp
The food was average - medium steak was charred and medium-well to well done- horrible!! When we got the bill, I used a $50 gift card as part of payment; they credited me only $40. When I pointed out the discrepancy, the waitress sent over the manager who "rang it up". She explained, "as part of the administrative fees they have to deduct $10 to offset any additional costs, however, [I] could deduct it from the tip". This was the first I have ever heard of "administrative charges" on a gift card - they are paid upon purchase. I always tip 20% minimum, but felt insulted they took automatic tip on party of 3; as if I was not going to tip. Our server was really nice, but due to manager's bogus explanation, I tipped the standard 20%! I Will NEVER go here again.

Christina V.

Yelp
Had an amazing annual meeting for 70 people. The staff was incredible and very easy to work with. We had the bar area which was cozy and their sound system worked great. I received several comments from attendees about how their meal was wonderful. The food was great! It was hot, fast and large portions. I know many of us will be back for dinner.
google avatar

Madison B.

Yelp
I love it! Incredible food, we went when Lala's first opened and had great service! I got their Stuffed chicken... YUM! We also went after church for brunch because I heard great things, and they didn't disappoint! Their quiche was in a unique little crock, so it stayed hot the entire time! Oh yeah, did I forget to say you get fruit & a little danish with your meal?! Tonight, being in quarantine, we did a pick up service! Check Social Media to see the weekly menu with the nightly specials!
google avatar

Deb H.

Yelp
Our dinner was absolutely fabulous. Our waiter, Richard, would be hard to beat anywhere. The only issue we had was it is not handicapped friendly. My husband who uses a cane could hardly get up the steps at the front door and go down the steps to get inside the restaurant. The bathroom has no railings to help people keep their balance. It has nothing to do with the excellence of anything else, but does make a difference to those who are handicapped challenged. Highly recommend the food, service and ambiance. Just be a little more attentive to handicapped!
google avatar

Hayley J.

Yelp
If you're looking for a casual dining experience with great food that is out of the realm of all the sports bars in the area this is a great place. The bread that is served is my Moms favorite . As far as apps go i tried the bruschetta and meatball and both were great. The mussels were Also good. The Ceasar salad dressing is also one of my favorites. I got the filet and it was cooked perfectly.l. Sorry i took the pics after we had already dug in. Drinks are a little pricey but very good. They also have a nice wine selection. I haven't tried the brunch yet but will be back!! There is plenty of seating at the bar and high tops in the bar also. There is a dining room on the other side.
google avatar

Gina F.

Yelp
Love the patio here and the food was very good! Enjoyed our experience and had wonderful service. I can't wait to come back.

Vicki S.

Yelp
Gathered with dear friends to celebrate a birthday last evening. Our server, Richard, was beyond fabulous, going above and beyond to not only decorate our table scape prior to our arrival, but also to graciously attend to every detail of the evening. What an awesome human! Food was incredible, from appetizers to dessert. Well done, Richard, and team LaLa's!!

Dana S.

Yelp
We've been to Lalas at least a dozen times now and unfortunately the experience has gotten incrementally worse on each visit. The first 2 times, we loved it, no complaints, great food. As time has gone on the menu remains stale. The dishes are never quite the same quality. For instance we order the Buffalo cauliflower each time, and the pollo ripieno regularly and sometimes it's amazing and sometimes it's awful. We've had the same experience sporadically multiple times. My low rating is for this: twice now I've been served dishes that contain pork that is not mentioned anywhere on the menu. In fact the menu seems to always be slightly off from what is actually being served. The manager was gracious both times but why would this happen twice to a single customer? Additionally the martinis and honestly every cocktail we ever order are... not good. They're usually missing a key component (certain ingredient, special rim coating) and they're watered down. I used to LOVE Lalas and we've spent a couple thousand dollars there easy but the final straw was I ordered carry out over the phone and when I went inside to pick it up, they made me wait outside for 25 minutes at some random unmarked door. This was after I showed up at the time they told me to. Among the dishes I ordered was a pizza that was DRENCHED and I mean SWIMMING in honey. Just disgusting. Lalas what the hell? Get it together! We won't be back until we start hearing things are improved

Yelp
Was looking for a new place to dine with the hubby and was told about this place. I LOVED the atmosphere the music being played in the piano. The appetizer.. Piandina... is so delicious. I also had the blackened scallops with spaghetti squash spinach and sliced apples. It was very enjoyable. Hubby got the. Salmon and cheese grits. It like it but she said the grits were lumpy. It was a very nice date night.
google avatar

Tala H.

Yelp
Great Food, the scallops are to die for!! Brussel sprouts are amazing & moscato is the best i've ever had. They have live music and such talented people too! Every server we have had is so knowledgeable
google avatar

Steven L.

Yelp
Fantastic flavorful appetizers and meal. LaLa's on the Lakes takes food to the next level. The wild mushroom risotto was the best I've ever had bar none. We really enjoyed the meal and experience!!
google avatar

Sarah T.

Yelp
Food is amazing. Horrible service. Horrible atmosphere - can't even here the person next to you talking. Made reservations inside where we were told was 'quiet'. It was the loudest dinner of my life. Waited forever for silverware after our food arrived. Did not plan on being there for 2 1/2 hours for dinner.
google avatar

Rusty F.

Yelp
This was the second time we ordered the mushroom basalmic pizza. Delicious! I have had excellent steaks and the scallops were very good also. I haven't been able to go in and sit at the bar for awhile but maybe soon. I highly recommend this place if you have not tried it.
google avatar

Ruthann H.

Yelp
Had the best experience ever. We were celebrating Christmas...yes in August...and I'm sure Santa lent his elves to decorate our table. From tablecloth to chair bows to Christmas water glasses and candle. All very festive. And the food was OUTSTANDING! Portion size amazing. No skimping on the quantity from appetizers to entrées. If you're looking for an overall great experience you'll find it at Lala's.

Tom S.

Yelp
Warning highly probable thief or thieves working there. Friend left phone on table and nobody knows where it went. Most honest restaurants and people and employees will take the phone to bar or hostess to returned to proper owner. Especially when you pride yourself in a higher class dinning establishment.
google avatar

Jim T.

Yelp
We hadn't been back in some time due to the pandemic. But we thought we'd give it another try with some friends last weekend. Firstly, the service was great. Veery attentive and personable. (we sat in the bar). Got drinks and apps. The fried portabella mushrooms and spinach dip apps were very good. We ordered dinner and it was promptly served. My friend had the bowtie pasta with spicy shrimp. It read better on the menu. One had crab cakes. More cake than crab. Another had a pasta dish. And I had the pork belly and risotto. That's when I realized that it was the wrong dish to order. Kitchen had no idea how to prepare pork belly correctly. Big chunks of very fatty pork belly in a sweet teriyaki like sauce. Thre was so much fat on the pork belly, I couldn't eat it. The mushroom risotto was fairly good. Overall? bad menu item. I have cooked pork belly in my kitchen many times and it has never been this bad. We like la-La's. We will return I'm sure. But no pork belly. Hopefully other menu items are better than what we had. The 3 stars is for food only.

Yelp
Had to check out the newest PLX restaurant for ourselves... and our verdict = we LOVE it, and think it's a great addition to our community. The service was on top of it, the food was awesome, they had a decent drink list. I loved that they brought out side salads with a carrier / basket / I honestly have no clue what to call it, of additional toppings, that was really cool. They have a dessert tray... which I LOVED and put the icing on the cake for me. We are already looking forward add to coming back.

Michelle J.

Yelp
We reserved a private room & had a create your pasta bar for a party. The food was phenomenal & they provided so many options for us. Definitely recommend!

Elizabeth P.

Yelp
First time to Lala's. The servers and staff were nice but very, very slow!! They did not have our first 2 selections for bourbon. The food was decent. My husbands bone-in rib eye was over cooked and my halibut was also over cooked. Flavors were good but could have been more pronounced. I will come back to try more on the menu however, we are not looking forward to the long wait times. I really want to give this place 4 stars but it took so long after asking for anything it was such a put off.

Jeff B.

Yelp
First time here since it was Anthe's - probably the last as well. Was here with a group of 25 people - one server and a few "helpers", none of which had fine dining experience obviously. Charcuterie tray was good. Wife had a half wedge salad which was good and a salmon dish that was so seasoned it was not edible, even though she specifically asked if it was spicy or not. My salad was good but not worth the $25 price with 4 Sam's Club shrimp on it....actually Sam's Club shrimp would have been better. Service was abysmal... took over one hour to get appetizers and more to get served - meals came out 2-3 at a time, with some people not served until others were finished. Person next to us had a salad with salmon on it and the salmon arrived 30 minutes after the salad did. Of course the mandatory 20% tip and 2.5% transaction fee were added to the bill with no problem despite the slow and non acceptable service. A 3 on the food and I can't even give one star for service. Totally unprepared for a large group.

Beth H.

Yelp
Food was mediocre and not worth the price. Best thing we had was the Brussel Sprouts. But I will say our Server was fantastic. Efficient and friendly. Not in a big hurry to return,
google avatar

Ken W.

Yelp
Atmosphere was great for the Christmas holiday. Service was spot on for drinks, taking our orders and following up. The table enjoyed their food overall. The pork chop was great. Sala d was awesome. The 22 oz ribeye was over charred and was not medium rare (medium to med well) slightly warm. The risotto was hot but the Brussels sprouts cold. The cauliflower buffalo side dish was good but cold. So the area of improvement maybe the table running when the order is up.
google avatar

Gary M.

Yelp
This place is an excellent restaurant, and the food is good, the price is a little high, and make sure you have your reservations. The owners name is Lisa, and her one room the wall decorations are quite tacky but not what I would expect in a more upscale restaurant.

John H.

Yelp
When it opened it was fantastic. However, It's slowly loosing its edge as It's always hit/miss with service as well as food, no consistency. I have no problem paying top dollar for a top meal but here it's like food roulette. Best take your chances somewhere else as I don't think owner gets it yet.
google avatar

Atalie G.

Yelp
Went for dinner with a group of 9. All of had delicious meals and cocktails. Our server was pleasant and efficient. The manager came by yo check on us. We have eaten at this same restaurant but under 3 different names. This was our most enjoyable time.
google avatar

Sabine A.

Yelp
Bad experience!! We waited 22 minutes before the waitress came to our table and it went down hill from there.
google avatar

Mark M.

Yelp
Quite a surprise. The atmosphere is upscale. The food is great. The service excellent and the price won't break the bank.
google avatar

Noah M.

Yelp
Is is the best restaurant in Ohio? Yes. Everything I had, and the table had immaculate. It's pricey, sure, but they gotta make a living. Atmosphere is great, food is unbelievable and the staff is fun but professional.
