These Hotel Brands Started as Glamorous Housing for Flight Attendants

"The Intercontinental in Tehran was a favorite among Pan Am flight attendants, especially during the oil boom. The hotel hosted American crews who were often invited to royal events, and it played a significant role in international travel standards."

The rooms were quite old, with noticeable shoe prints on the ceiling and walls. The furniture had a strong smell of old cigarettes. The walls were extremely thin, so no privacy or silence . The staff was somewhat rude, and I found it unsettling that they entered our room without us requesting any cleaning service. This felt like a violation of privacy, as I could have had personal belongings lying around and wouldn’t want a stranger moving them or put my stuff in my suitcase. On the plus side, breakfast was decent, and the location was convenient. However, this is far from a 5-star hotel. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

The rooms, furnishings, hotel very old, the toilets and bathrooms were of very poor quality, the toilet would get stuck, the lock on the entrance door wouldn’t open every time, and the walls were thin and dirty. The prices are very high compared to the quality and overall one star is too much for this hotel.در کل توصیه نمیشود

The room is old, worn and dirty, even the dirt of the lobby chairs is very visible, the internal manager, Mr. Qanadzadeh, is very irresponsible and indebted, the reception is mostly bad manners and rude. Literally everything was awful. I do not recommend it to anyone, it is not an international five-star hotel, it is a motel at the lowest level.

It's very old.. Most of things doesn't work.. It's not really clean. They are not professional in lobby. I give it 1 star for price.

The Laleh Hotel in Tehran, with easy access to metro and taxis and proximity to Laleh Park, is an ideal place to stay in the city. With new facilities and excellent services, this hotel provides guests with a pleasant and comfortable experience.

I had the worst experience at this hotel, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. If you’re sensitive to cigarette smoke, this is not the place for you. The entire hotel reeks of cigarette smoke, and the guests in the room next to us smoked non-stop, day and night. Despite multiple complaints, the management did nothing to address the issue. We requested a room change, but the staff claimed the hotel was fully booked. However, we could see online that other rooms were still available. This dishonesty, paired with the staff’s aggressive, rude, and unprofessional behavior, made our stay unbearable. The hotel itself is old, dirty, and filled with an unpleasant odor throughout. It was also uncomfortably hot inside, even in the middle of winter. As Canadians, we were not accustomed to such heat and had to sleep with the windows wide open. It seems the hotel’s energy-saving approach is to overheat the rooms and then rely on open windows to cool things down—a truly baffling practice. Breakfast was subpar, with cheap and uninspiring options. For a hotel that claims to be 5-star, the quality and service are far below even a basic motel. It’s simply not worth the money. Unfortunately, since our booking was non-refundable, we were stuck here for six miserable nights. Staying at this hotel felt like a nightmare, and we regretted every second of it. Do yourself a favor—find somewhere else to stay.

It was a magnificent hotel a long time ago, but now it's just an old hotel that I personally regret booking. I didn't like the staff behavior from the hospitality perspective. It's like they don't understand they are in the tourism industry. They simply don't know how to welcome guests here. The room cleaning isn't good enough. You can easily see dirt and stain all over the walls. Even the furniture is worn out and dirty because they are so old. I'm wondering how this hotel is a 5-star hotel?

It was by far the worst hotel experience of my life. They are carrying a label for a 5 star International hotel, but you can just call it a motel. The minimum right for a guest in any accommodation is clean sheets, bathroom, and covers, but they failed to even deliver this. I still can not believe they are charging rooms for 5 star accommodation and giving a low-level motel service to their guests. I let the pictures tell you the rest.
