"Everyone once in a while you stumble across a band you love, and can’t believe more people aren’t talking about. That’s how we feel about Lalime’s, a neighborhood restaurant in North Berkeley with a cozy atmosphere, a solid wine list, and a constantly changing, mostly French menu. It’s not trying to be trendy at all, it’s filled with locals, and you won’t have trouble making a reservation. We’re not sure why it isn’t more popular, but we’re also not complaining. It’s nice to have a spot you can always get into. photo credit: Virginia Mae Rollison" - Amy Clark

Excellent neighborhood restaurant, with delicious food and attentive service. We went in for a birthday meal and had a great time. My halibut with corn was perfectly prepared and well worth a once a year dip into the red list. Others raved about their duck and lamb dishes. The weak spot was dessert. The chocolate, walnut, and caramel tart was more like a thick block of chocolate and nuts, not the delicate indulgence I was hoping for. I think I should have indulged in a cocktail (which looked amazing) instead.

Mix feeling about this restaurant as a long term customer there. The lady who checked us in last night was cold and we really felt unwelcome there, but luckily the waitress serving us was very friendly and helpful. The foods quality is also not consistent, sometimes the foods were amazing, but not last night. I ordered seafood stew and it tasted horrible. After the first bite, I already can see $29 flushed down to toilet. Not sure if I will come back anytime soon 😞

Really yummy brunch. Portion sizes are not insanely huge, but you get a really well crafted meal with delicious seasonings and spices. The server we had was also extremely friendly and helpful. Will definitely come back. There's also a beautiful outside seating area!

Very good, original meals and interesting wine list in a somewhat out-of-the-way restaurant in West Berkeley. For a special occasion.

Loved their food. Today they might have been short handed so service was a bit slow but I wasn't in a hurry

We had a nice meal. Everything was tasty, service was attentive even though the restaurant was full. We tried several of their breads which were very nice. The deserts were also good. I would say it was more a 4.5 experience as it was all very nice but not extraordinary.

Great service! We got an early dinner and it wasn't that busy. They were very nice to reschedule our reservation. We order the evil eggs as appetizer mmm delicious with caviar and salmon (just 1 egg cut in a half) I ordered the duck which comes with the skin it was ok. The fish that my husband ordered was better. The carrot soup fantastic!

Friendly staff, delicious and well prepared food. I wouldn't recommend the busy Sunday brunch, everyone got their food before me, so I basically ate alone. The omelet looked the best, although there was a little sand in the leeks.
