The 26 Best Restaurants In Mumbai

"You better enjoy coconut if you’re going to Taste of Kerala. It’s all over the sadya, the ₹310, all-you-can-eat vegetarian meal served on a banana leaf. Here pumpkin, beans, and other vegetables are cooked in coconut in all its forms—light and heavy milk, rich cream, freshly grated, desiccated—to make avial, thoran, kootu, pachadi, erisnsery, kalan, and more. Rounding out this coconutty feast are dabs of pickles (the jammy puli inji made with tamarind and ginger is incredible), and mounds of rice with sambar and rasam that threaten to run off the frond and onto your lap. On a second visit, or with a big group, get their other staples, like smoky, sour surmai pollichathu wrapped in a leaf, and starchy kappa biryani. The space is spare and functional at best, but after a meal here, it’ll be impossible to think about this spot and not feel excited and/or hungry. " - roshni bajaj sanghvi

If you’re near CSMT and looking to try something different, Taste of Kerala is worth a visit. The Kadala Curry with Appam is flavorful and authentic, and the Tomato Rice is another delicious option. Please note that typical South Indian items like Idli, Dosa, Uthappa, and Medu Vada are not available here—this place focuses on traditional Kerala cuisine. Also, it’s not a pure vegetarian restaurant, so keep that in mind if you have dietary preferences. Overall, a great spot for trying real Kerala flavors.

Best food in Maharashtra...No food colours,Spicy, perfectly ghee roasted. We had crab starter, prawns ghee roast, khizi parota, prawns biryani(quantity is low dude),surmai, pomphret(too costly dude-900) remaining all worthy for money and taste wise.If u want budget friendly ask the prices before having food for ur sake.

The place is good for casual lunches. Older folks will have a problem climbing stairs. Downstairs will be preferable. The floor under our table was sticky. So we got a waiter to clean. The food was good. Quantity for one plate will be enough for just 1 person or max 2. Authentic kerala flavors. The owner n waiters are very polite!

Taste of Kerala@ is a very cozy restaurant. The food is really good and the staff are helpful. We, personally, ordered brown rice, rasam, prawn roast, kothu parotta and steamed rice. The brown rice was cooked to perfection and the prawn roast was quite filling with a good amount of prawns. The rasam was the best in my opinion. The kothu parotta was amazing. They also served up papad, inji puli, mango pickle and chillies cured in salt. They also served us 4 types of Kerala style dishes including aviyal. All of it was really good. Would highly recommend this place

6-7 years ago I used to have lunch from this place as my office was at fort area. They used to serve good kerala meal and had recommended this place to most of my friends and families. Yesterday when I visited Fort for some work I thought it will be good relive the my food memories but I was very disappointed. I ordered egg masala fry and kerala parotta. Parotta was cold and dry and egg gravy was very oily and nothing authentic.

We tried the veg thaali and the fish thaali at Taste of Kerala, and both were absolutely amazing. The service is top-notch and the food truly feels like home. Would highly recommend this place to anyone craving tasty, homely South Indian food :)

Every bite of the authentic chicken kizhi biryani was packed with flavors. We also ordered appam and veg. stew, which was equally good. All in all, it's a perfect place to treat your tastebuds with the authentic kerala flavors.
