Some cafés simply serve coffee and pastries. LAM offers something more memorable. From the moment you step inside, there is a genuine sense of hospitality that makes you feel welcome.
The atmosphere immediately stands out. The welcome is warm and sincere, reminiscent of the generosity you might experience when visiting a Saudi home, yet expressed with the calm elegance of a Parisian café. It feels natural rather than exaggerated, and it sets a relaxed tone for the entire visit.
During my visit I had the pleasure of speaking with the owner, originally from Saudi Arabia, who has been living in France for many years. Hearing about his journey and the work behind the café makes the place feel even more special. The warmth you experience as a guest clearly reflects the person behind the counter.
I began with a savoury croissant filled with chicken and cheese. It was gently warmed and served at exactly the right temperature. There was also a subtle additional flavour, a small personal touch from the chef, which lifted it well beyond the usual café sandwich. It was simple, satisfying, and beautifully executed.
Next came the Saudi coffee. Unlike the darker roasts many people are used to, this coffee is lighter and delicately infused with cardamom and saffron. The flavour is wonderfully aromatic and almost closer to a refined infusion than a conventional coffee. I started with the traditional small cup and enjoyed it so much that I quickly ordered a full mug. It is the sort of drink that encourages you to slow down and enjoy the moment.
Then came the pastries, and this is where things become dangerous for anyone with a sweet tooth. The pistachio gâteau with orange blossom was outstanding. The first bite is already delicious, but the flavours continue to unfold in gentle layers. What began as a polite taste quickly turned into finishing the entire slice without hesitation.
Because I was with friends who are enthusiastic food lovers, I also had the chance to taste a few other treats. The cinnamon swirl had a lovely crispness with delicate buttery layers and a comforting hint of spice. The date and walnut cake was rich, soft, and deeply satisfying, the sort of dessert that disappears from the table faster than expected.
What makes LAM special is that the quality of the food matches the warmth of the welcome. It feels like a place created with care, where both flavour and hospitality matter equally.
During our conversation I also discovered something intriguing. In the evening the establishment transforms into a restaurant called SADU. That experience deserves a separate review, but it certainly gives me a very good reason to return.
For now, LAM stands out as a café well worth visiting. Excellent pastries, remarkable Saudi coffee, and above all a genuine sense of hospitality that makes the whole experience memorable.
