"Cross a croissant, a pretzel, and a croque monsieur, and you get Lâm’s croque-croissant stuffed with mushrooms and mornay sauce and garnished with sesame seeds and sea salt flakes. It’s a prime example—alongside za’atar and feta swirl buns and tahini-chocolate loaf cakes—of the innovative mashup of French techniques and Middle Eastern flavors at this spacious bakery with a handful of tables both inside and out. The pistachio-orange blossom tourte marries the light nuttiness of the perfect macaron with the richness of flourless cake, topped with a blob of cheesecake-y icing. If your blood sugar can take it, go for the pistachio croissant, which is basically like eating baklava for breakfast. Creativity aside, the bakers here have the basics on lock, especially when it comes to the quiches. Fillings like onion, tamarind, and goat cheese or roasted cauliflower and sumac are piled into some of the butteriest pastry cases in town." - Emily Monaco

Google
My friend recommended me this place to get rice trays, at this place you’ll find an extensive variety of Vietnamese dishes. There’s no dining room or any seatings as they have a table with many different plates and food trays like Shrimp fried rice, they have orange sweet rice made with gac and other plates, I definitely recommend you bring ingredients cash as they don’t accept any other type of payment. The reason why I am giving 3 star for the service is that I had very bad experience with the service received by the cashier, very rude and disrespectful. She has no manners and her body language isn’t polite at all. There was another lady that was handing out the orders and she was very nice. It depends on who helps you out I guess.

Julie Nguyen

Google
Good food at reasonable pricing. They have tons of ready made trays of Vietnamese food for parties and get-together, or just yourself. A tray of banh beo is $30. For popular items on the weekends, perhaps a better idea to give them a call and order prior.

Google
I came here to order some egg rolls and fried chicken wings and it did not disappoint. I have tried the food here many times and have bought many times as well. I've never had a batch of any food that was not delicious. I highly recommend this place for parties and Catering. The prices are extremely reasonable for the amount of food you get.

Google
Good to go. Party trays ready to go, you don’t even have to order ahead! Unless there is other people getting the same thing as you and then you would have to wait. Everything looks delicious!

Henry Tran

Google
Food is acceptable. The price is reasonable. But the store never accepts Mastercard or Zelle, only CASH. The action may caused tremendous inconvenience to customers.

BG

Google
The cashier old lady was not friendly. Other workers gossip. Worst part, the meat loaf I got has some sort of tiny worms on it. I felt so disgusted!

Google
Throughout our trip, my family came here multiple times for quick snacks and food for our stay. They loved the packaged food and the quick service.

Brandon Nguyen

Google
One of my favorite place for deep fried fish-sauce-chicken 🍗 and fried mochi. Their stirred fried crab vermicelli is also a hit.

Betty G.

Yelp
I'm surprised of the lower ratings for this vietnamese deli/food to go shop. They have many choices of catering items and tray, pre-prepared foods. Most of times still warm as they bring those out throughout the day and many on the tables ready to pick up and go. I always get the banh nam, vermicelli glass noodles with shrimp and crab meat. Better quality than most of them in the area. Egg rolls are also good. Many choices to select from if you don't have time to cook for some larger size party and/or events.

Yelp
I was shocked by how rude they were. Is it really that hard to simply let customers know if they need to pay, wait, or if their food is ready? And yet, they behaved like that when speaking to customers. As young generation who wants to be a simple customer buying food. Never come back! So today my dad told me to come to buy food so this is the first time coming here. I, along with many others, waited a very long time to buy food, but the owner or staff there seemed to ignore us and didn't take our orders?! They even argued with previous customers and their attitude were arrogant and disrespectful. What kind of business behavior like this ? People waited for a long time, even those who ordered a week in advance, and some had to wait over an hour and a half without receiving their food. Super unorganized and rude. I asked if they sold blood pudding and wanted to buy some extra rolls, but the woman there completely ignored me and didn't even bother replying, no matter how many times I asked. I was totally shocked!!

Jennifer N.

Yelp
Fish sauce chicken wings is bomb here! They had a ton of other party tray items, but we came for the fish sauce chicken wings and everyone loved it. Good customer service and it was fast. The shop is small so be mindful of others who are waiting in line to order/pay.

Sherby L.

Yelp
Tried this place out after a friend brought the chicken wings to a potluck. These are hands down the best chicken wings I have ever had and will continue to order from this place for future parties! Definitely recommend calling a day before to place the order.

Huong L.

Yelp
Foods are good, but service is bad. There is the guy treat customers like we come to beg for foods, some customers, including me say out loud, we are buying, not begging. So, instead of a regular customer, I will buy less at this store, go buy somewhere else. Hope he changes his attitude, before the store goes down. Sorry.

Kaelin N.

Yelp
So many options!!! We brought some prepackaged food home and I was so impressed with all the choices. Everything looked fresh too!

Uyen N.

Yelp
Good amount of options and good food. Ordered a few trays of food for a party, great deal. Will be back to order again.

Yelp
We really liked the fish sauce chicken wings here my cousin ordered for kids party. I placed an order for one tray for pick up on 12/24 for 4pm.. my order was still not ready at 530, so I ended up buying something premade already made there. Was so disappointed because we really wanted to try the chicken again and let our family try it.

Thao T.

Yelp
Don't come here. These people are rude! They told me they don't take phone orders and that I need to come in, and so I walked in and they basically said oh we can't cook anymore fried chicken.

Jayde N.

Yelp
Super great choices on party trays. I recommend their foods. Bo la lot is a hit and nem Cuon is also really good!! Service is fast and nice!!

Tina T.

Yelp
I love this spot for party tray Vietnamese chicken wings! They have butter garlic or fish sauce. It comes in 2 sizes. Double check, but I believe 45 for the smaller tray and 90$ for the larger tray. I love that you can phone your order in advance for pick up! Every time I come there's always a line but it moves pretty quick. I've also tried their party trays for Banh Beo. Pretty good and reasonably priced too!

Ecila N.

Yelp
My mom called over the phone to order some food for pick up for the first time, and the lady kept accusing that someone called multiple times to order and didn't pick up. We kept telling her it was not us. She kept asking us multiple times if we for sure wanted to pick up, and complained that we didn't pick up the food ( we never called her before) and then in a very rude tone told my mom that she's busy and to call back later. Overall very bad phone etiquette! We will not order from here again.

Theresa T.

Yelp
Always has what I need for last minute orders when it comes to catering dishes. Their fish sauce wings are the best.

Phg T.

Yelp
Serious comfort food for serious get-together or impromptu party. This place is the go-to for many beloved dishes that we grew up eating in Vietnam. Most of their food can be purchased throughout the day until closing time, but some items need advance order like chicken wings or large trays of noodles, fried rice etc. Pricing is reasonably cheap. Parking is easy but you will often find rude drivers that just literally parked behind another parked car blocking traffic while they pick up their orders, but overall it's an easy in-and-out process. Most of their menu is good except for the egg rolls. One surprising item that is insanely delicious (imo) is their fried bananas. I never had the chance to come in the store when they're freshly made, but they're just as good after 5-10 minutes in the air fryer the next day. In fact, I think they're even better tasting after several minutes in the fryer.

Kelly N.

Yelp
All the foods are decent....to good to keep me coming back but the few servers are cold not very nice.

Joyce H.

Yelp
I would not come back again. I saw one of the cooks reached her hands in the dish she was making to taste the food rather than using utensils. Customer service was terrible. I ordered food weeks advance and called to remind a few days before pick up date yet my orders had to cook when I came to pick up. People working behind the counter kept shouting or maybe that was how they talk(?). The food aren't that great either. The fried rice was hard, the banh bot loc was sticky that we we're having hard time getting the pieces to serving plates, and the stirred fried vermicelli had that stale smell. We got diarrhea after. Never again coming back to this place.

Yummy T.

Yelp
Good does not taste good. It's just okay. BEWARE: The meatloaf I got had some tiny worms on it. I felt so disgusted! Avoid unless you want to risk food poisoning!

Sherluna V.

Yelp
I moved to OC from Sac and have been looking for party to go food trays and small to go food. A lady I watch on YouTube recommended this place so I had to try it out for myself. Initially I went on a holiday weekend and this place was packed! People order their chicken wings and dishes ahead of time. My favorite thing to get here is their banh bot lot. I think it was around $30 for the big tray with 50 pieces? Either way I'll definitely come back to try the other dishes and report back. Bring cash! If you didn't order ahead, they still have a lot of food freshly prepared for you to pick up. Sometimes if they're busy, there's two lines: one for pickup/order food and the second to grab to go food trays/plates.

Lindsey D.

Yelp
I visited on a Thursday afternoon. It wasn't too busy. I did not call ahead but was able to order still and pick up same day. I ordered ga chien nuoc mam (fish sauce fried chicken wings). I ordered the smaller tray it was $45. It was about a 25 minute wait. Paid and got a receipt to come back later. It is a cash only establishment and the workers are very nice. When I came back my wings were done as quoted and they were piping hot which I loved it means the food was fresh. They packed the tray with chicken wings well worth the price. These wings are delicious my absolute favorite. They have the crunchiest batter and a savory sticky sauce great being paired with rice. I highly recommended this business for their wings you won't regret it! Side note I have tried their egg rolls at a party before they are just okay.

Amanda N.

Yelp
Small shop. Best for to go items Good if you're looking for a dish to bring to a party.

Vy D.

Yelp
I'm calling in to order party trays and the lady stated her name was Hà was so rude, un professional. denied to take my order and said I have to paid first in order for them to get the trays. as before I walk in and buy, they said you have to call first and today I called in , she was rude to said you have to come to Oder , paid than you can pick up next day and hang up my phone 2 time. I called back reque to talk to someone else and she hang up my phone. so rude customer service with the lady name Hà or whoever behind her. Will never go here order food anymore.

Danica V.

Yelp
Great spot to get your local viet catering. I'm no even Vietnamese but I find this spot so clutch. So stress free! Delivers good food and best bang for your buck in the area. Got their chicken wings, salt pepper shrimp, papaya salad, chow mein, shaken beef. Take not it's cash only here And don't expect anything nice. It's literally a hole in the wall spot. Overall would recommend for your next party or get together

Jessica T.

Yelp
Their chicken wings are so good and buttery even for the fish sauce order, you can still taste the butter. Small tray is $45 for about 30+ pieces and big tray is $90. The service was good and fast. Just watch out for your change if you pay cash because they might give you less change. Most of the chicken are already in trays and keep warm as you pick up. The store is right where ABC market is at, so there's plenty of parking. The LAM VAN sign is very big, too. You can find them easily in the corner.

Cynthia F.

Yelp
Wings are bomb. They always have party trays of variety of foods ready to go! CASH ONLY!

Len V.

Yelp
Best fish sauce wings and the crispiest ever... definitely a must try idk about everything else but i order party trays here...specifically fish sauce wings. Thanks for this amazing dish!!!

Vivian D.

Yelp
The tray of fish sauce chicken wings for $45 is delicious, but the customer service is absolutely terrible! I had placed an order in advance for pick up with my name as "Vivian." The lady then said that my name was too difficult, so that she had to put a random name instead as "Thanh." She was very rude and disrespectful. The day that I came to pick up the order at 4:00PM, I had already paid. The staff was not on time. I had to wait so long. After waiting for 30+ minutes, I checked in to see how much longer and the lady asked me to pay again. I asked her why would I need to pay again when I had already paid? Overall, the shop is extremely small. You literally have to bump into people to get in and out. The staff is extremely unprofessional, rude, and disrespectful. Although the fish sauce chicken wings are really good, I don't think that it is worth going through that experience again!!!

Tam T.

Yelp
They have the best fried bananas. They are super crispy and delicious. Their fish sauce chicken wings are also very crispy and flavorful.

Rosie P.

Yelp
Had to get something for potluck and everything was great. My church people liked the party trays I picked up from here. The lady was kind with me that I didn't know much Vietnamese but she was helpful in helping me.

Michael H.

Yelp
Problem with Westminister/Garden Grove during the weekend is that traffic is typically congested and parking is bad. It's time consuming to go to multiple places for food pickup. With that being said, I am giving this place a solid 4. Yes, I understand some of their items would not be the best in general, but overall they are pretty solid. The way I would describe this is that if you are throwing a party/potluck and need to grab food in ONE place, Lam Van and Kim Phuong are my main two destinations. I have ordered a bunch of items from them before: * Banh Beo - the texture is pretty soft (not soggy). It's not super sticky either which is pretty good. * Banh Boc Loc - Huong Giang is prob the best place for this, but Lam Van does it pretty well. The only thing is that their Banh Boc Lot is sticky and it's a bit harder to take out than Huong Giang. This is probably because they put less oil. * Spring Rolls (nem) - I'll be honest, I'm not a fan of their spring rolls unfortunately. The Nem was nothing to rave about. * Spring Roll (Goi Cuon/Shrimp) - This one is a hit or miss. Sometimes in the packaging, I see the rice sheet break, but I would probably order this over Nem Cuon. * Beef Rolls - this one was pretty solid and I would recommend this. There is one thing that annoys me is that they are cash only business. So remember to bring cash or go to the Bank of America in this same plaza. Maybe it's because this is a common practice in Westminster, Garden Grove, and San Gabriel Valley, it's deemed a norm for me. I understand some of the bad reviews in regard to this, but I am able to tolerate it. Overall, I feel that this is solid place for folks to do "catering takeout" and I do plan to come here again.

Mimi N.

Yelp
There are places that are truly hidden gems and are only to locals and today is like to share with you my favorite spot for Vietnamese fried chicken wings with fish sauce (cánh gà chiên nước mắm), rice sheets with ground shrimp steamed in a banana leaf ( bánh là or bánh năm), and my favorite in all the lands.. steamed tapioca dumplings stuffed with pork and shrimp in a nana leaf (bánh bột lọc). The last two dishes are traditional dishes of the Hue region in vietnam, and well the fried chicken in fish sauce, Hmm not to sure what part it came from but damn those things are yummy! So the thing about this place is you can't order for 1 or for 2, but you need to order for a party, cause hey, food is best enjoyed with friends and family right? Chicken wings you should call in the order. Bánh năm/ bánh là and bánh bột loc you can stop in and pick up anytime. It's the short little balls in banana leaf and the long skinny tamale looking things in banana leaf. Enjoy!

Teresa P.

Yelp
This review is for their banh nam only. Came here looking for ready-made food to go trays and saw a small tray filled with banh nam, my favorite! I didn't ask how many pieces were in the tray but it was filled to the top and price was $30, which I felt was a good price for the amount given. The filling ratio is a good amount and were flavored well. I will definitely come back here for banh nam!

Elize B.

Yelp
If you are hosting a party and want to get something fast, delicious, consistent quality food, this is THE PLACE to go in OC for finger Vietnamese food. My go to has always been chicken wings and egg rolls. Cheap, fast service. Yes, you do have to call in advance to place an order because they can't cook the food on the spot right after you order and deliver the tray in 20-30 minutes. They're just simply too busy to provide the "crème de la crème" kinda service but you will always count on the quality and quick pickup. Minus the long line of other people also there to order/pick up their orders. There are other items that they do cook in advance like fried rice to pick up on the spot if you run out of time and didn't call. Study the menu prior to calling to order. They won't have time to explain to you what options they offer. The menu is huge. Google what the dishes are. Honestly just try everything on the menu.

Ryan N.

Yelp
Đồ ăn Huế ngon, gia phải chăng, chao lòng ngon và rẻ , moi Lan về cali chơi đều ghê tiệm .

Litda P.

Yelp
The chicken wings are fire !!!! If you have a potluck, one tray of wings (garlic butter or fish sauce) is super affordable!!! This is my go to spot for all potluck parties lol. Service is normal Asian, they speak English. It gets busy so call ahead of time. It's a TO GO type of place, not a sit down. Love them wings!!!

Jamie T.

Yelp
Chicken wings with nuoc mam is my favorite food here. I haven't tried other dishes yet, will do it as I have a chance.

Marilyn N.

Yelp
The nuoc mam (fish sauce) wings are thee best! I first had it at a party and was surprised how crunchy and flavorful the wings were! They are always a hit at parties for all ages. One large tray is good for 10-20 people, depending on how many other dishes you have. Order a day or two in advance. Cash only.

Vũ N.

Yelp
I rarely give 1 star but this place made me disappointed so much. I came this morning and it was busy. Therefore, I tried to be nice to the staffs and make it fast. I bought 2 lbs of "doi huyet" and paid $16 for them. I heard another staff told the cashier that my order needed 1 more roll to be enough for 2lbs, but the cashier told that it was paid. I didn't realize that was my order until I got home. And I got only 1lbs of the food.

Michele T.

Yelp
The nam is okay. Not as good as it use to be. I drove from San Francisco all the way there and was a little bit disappointed just cause the service is not as good as it is to be and the food is not as good as it is to be. Plus the prices went up

Michael T.

Yelp
Very crowded, egg rolls, spicy fried chicken wings excellent!!. Staff was nice and friendly

Micky N.

Yelp
A great place for reasonably priced catering! Make sure you call in ahead. I've gotten the following items here: -Fried Rice ($25/$35/$50 trays): so good! I will definitely cater this again! -Nem Nuong or Grilled Pork rolls ($1.30/roll): Cheap alternative to Brodards. Don't expect too much. -Cha Hue: My grandma's favorite. I will always get it from here.

Tammy N.

Yelp
Great spot for your parties or social gatherings. Call early to order and the food will be ready at the scheduled time. Lots of appetizers and finger foods to choose from. Big parking lot so plenty of parking space.

Bettran42 T.

Yelp
Lam Van has become careless and rude because they do good business. The food is okay but prices are expensive. It's quick and easy way to get food more parties but they have no customer service at all. The last two times they were rude and didn't care at all. I ordered chicken wings with NO fish sauce and they put fish sauce and when I picked up they didn't care that they messed up the order. The lady said that's the way it is and she didn't care that now I have chicken wings that my kid wouldn't eat. Second time, I tried to order and she said they are out and just hung up on me. I guess if you don't care about customer service and only care about food then this place is okay. But if you care at all about how you are treated then don't go here.

Phung D.

Yelp
We ordered for a birthday event. Pick up was quick and easy. Bo la lot, chow mein , fish sauce wings were a hit. I highly recommend those three items.

Dennis L.

Yelp
If you are having a party, this is the place to get your to go food. A must order: fried chicken wings. Yes you heard me, fried chicken wings. Always gotta wait for them to make it fresh but it's totally worth it. 5/5 hands down. Their best item here!!! A see many folks buying the nem nuong spring rolls too. I'm a big fan of brodard or nem which is usually 1.65$ each but this place sells it for $1.30. Overall, I'd rate it 3.5/5. The sauce isn't as flavorful and their ingredients within the rolls are different. But eh if you're buying a ton and have lots of guests and wanna save some money, try their rolls. It's not bad at all.

melany y.

Yelp
Delicious food. Chaotic to get and buy the food but worth it and no one seems to mind.

Johnson L.

Yelp
Food: everything here is good and party tray sized for big families. Try the fish sauce chicken wings, spring rolls, chao, salads. All good. Folks will complain about customer service. I've been coming here for 3 years. Back for the same items. Service is typical Asian place, come for the food, not the service. It's fast paced, take what you see and line up to pay. Pre-order if you want to ensure availability.

Kim Uyen N.

Yelp
Food was ok, not really good. Customer service was terrible. The employee that picked up my phone was supper aggressive. Just one advice for people who picked up the phone call: when your customer ask you about something, just go straight to the answer of that question. Do not be mean with your customer while they are being nice to you.

Nick T.

Yelp
Not sure why but these people are terrible at customer service. I will not support business like this. Foods is not that great, very tight, dirty and remember it's a "cash only" this is a tax invasion business.

Twee T.

Yelp
Just come for the food. Don't come with high expectations of good customer service, punctuality or efficiency. Survival guide: * Place phone order at least 2 hours in advance, but they tend to be half-hour late on your order anyways * Have exact cash in hand * There may be a semblance of a line, just be aware. It generally wraps around from right to left a soon as you step in the door * It seems to help if you're tall, or if you bring someone tall --- they seem to respond better over the high deli counter * More readymade trays are available earlier in the day * Favs: butter chicken wings, betel leaf-wrapped beef rolls, lotus root salad You just never really know when this place is going to be a hectic zoo until you're deep in it. If you find yourself lost, dazed and confused, you're probably not alone! Take a deep breath and be firm (but with a smile through your mask, lol) about reminding them of your order. If only these popular places had a numbered ticket system :-\
