Lovely cosy restaurant. Absolutely top notch service. Portion is okayish compared to the price but the taste is phenomenal. Plenty of seats. I had a virgin mojito and it was actually good not gonna lie.

Wonderful evening with great food and wine and professional service. Could not fault it. Lived near Stratford for 4 years and been meaning to visit. It absolutely lived up to the great reputation it holds.

My favourite restaurant in town. I only visit Stratford on business once every 2 to 3 years. Lambs seems to get better each time I visit. Low ceilings add to the welcoming atmosphere. Book for dinne. Service is prompt, but unhurried. A good selection: Rack of Lamb is as good as everyone says, complimented with buttery dauphinoise, mustard green beans - more filling than it looks. Save room for dessert - nothing disappoints. Wine selection for most budgets. A winning formula that reels me in every time I'm in town

Google
Great restaurant tucked in a beautiful house offering a delicicous menu. Everything we ordered tasted extremely well, but if you opt to go for the lamb you will probably experience the best one you have ever had. Paired with the very attentive service this makes it a great place to visit in Straford upon Avon

The food was good, though it didn’t quite live up to the expectations set by the price. While the dishes were tasty and well-presented, they lacked that extra something to make them truly exceptional. The atmosphere of the restaurant was lovely, providing a comfortable and enjoyable setting for our meal. The staff was attentive and friendly, making sure we had everything we needed throughout our visit.

I came for a pre-theatre dinner. I ordered the herbed lamb rack with dauphinoise potatos and it was simply heavenly! The meat was tender and the potatoes were cooked to perfection, buttery and creamy. I had the Riesling wine with the meal and it was a really good combination. For dessert I had the sticky toffee pudding which was incredibly rich, moist and indulgent. The vanilla ice cream that accompanied it was creamy and super delicious, and the caramel sauce had a delicate bitterness to it that balanced the dessert quite nicely. The staff was very friendly and helpful and gave excellent recommendations. If you're visiting Stratford upon Avon, this is definitely the place to go!

One of the best little restaurants I have been in for a long time. Set 2 course lunch at 21.50 was great. We were seated and served quickly and efficiently. The waitress was exceptional with friendliness and forward thinking (things like checking if coffee served with or after dessert). Food was high quality French based cuisine. I had a cajan chicken, and my partner had sea bream, mine with thin fries and a small side salad. Desserts were a big slab of sticky toffee pudding, and a creme brulee. Presentation could have been a little better for both, but tasted wonderful.

Google
Excellent range of food and drinks. There was a wide variety of choices on the menu including some choices you don't see everywhere. Very much enjoyed my dessert of marbled chocolate mousse cake, I have a very sweet tooth, so always enjoyed a lovely pudding. Would recommend booking in advance as it was busy when we went.

Yelp
Lambs seems to be a higher-end choice on the Shakespeare trail, and it seems to be one of the better ones. The restaurant is just beautiful inside and out, and it's a great place to sit to try a beer by the Shakespeare Brewing Co. The starters are so pretty! The Gratin of Hand-dived Scallops is served right inside the shell with salt and some citrus. There are some small fried fish on the set menu, and they taste slightly briny and very fresh. The Cornish Crab Scotch Egg is perfectly soft-boiled. It looks small, but it's very dense and heavy. I can't not try the lamb, and I really liked the Herb-Crusted Rack of New Season English Lamb. It's medium-rare pink and juicy, and the side of creamy potatoes and green beans is comfort food all the way. A lovely lunch. The food is rich for when you're craving something hearty and filling, but they also serve market-fresh seafood if you're looking for something lighter. I don't know much about the other dining options in Stratford-Upon-Avon, but I am quite satisfied with Lambs.

Yelp
Delicious meal, excellent service and a lovely setting for Sunday supper. It's hard to find a good restaurant without a reservation here, so we felt fortunate to dine Lambs Restaurant. Highly recommend the skirt steak and the salmon.

Yelp
The food here was great! I ordered the grilled halloumi for appetizer. This was extremely salty and kind of squeaky... but I think that is the nature of the cheese. It went well with the bread but I had to wash it down with a lot of water. The chicken for main course was extremely flavorful and tender. One of the better chicken dishes that I've had at a restaurant. Would recommend! The dessert was also very special. Rosé jello with berries inside. The jello was perfectly sweetened and you get the flavor of the sweet wine. Kind of took me back to the college Jell-O shot days, but way classier. Would also recommend this dish!

Yelp
Very disappointing experience. I was very excited to go to this restaurant but the food was bland and a bit tasteless. I started with the chicken Liver parfait with onion jam. Not strong onion taste from the jam. Parfait was well made but needed something to lift it. Followed it with mussels with frites. The mussels were well cooked but the cream sauce had no taste of garlic or onion... very poor. Also my frites were overcooked and a lot of the soaking in oil. Dessert was Eton mess. A bowl of purple gunge! I love dessert and I left most of it. So not happy. Btw the service was really average

Yelp
The absolute best meal we had while in England! As a 51st Wedding Anniversary gift to my parents, we did a mini-tour of the country, including tickets for the Royal Shakespeare's production of Hamlet. As we're walking around Stratford Upon Avon trying to find a good dinner spot, Lambs beckoned & what a happy find! Visiting the UK in "off-season" has its perks & for us, this meant we were seated w/out reservations - which in the future for anyone wanting to experience this deliciousness, I would highly recommend!! Delish Fish for Mom, scrumptious Steak for Dad & I had the most delectable Veggie delight - Baked Goats Cheese in filo pastry with green beans and pesto dressing TONS of goat cheese, topped w/ the most flavorful pesto - not too oily but just right (although make sure you visit a mirror afterwards to get all the bits & pieces out of your teeth.....otherwise, *embarassing*) Paired w/ this yummy beer called Sheeps Head (at least I think that was what it was called - it was a local brew) & it was the perfect beginning to our meal Dessert consisted of Sticky Toffee Pudding & Creme Brulee & they were absolutely incredible - paired w/ Hennessey & who can top that?! Warmed us right up for our outing into the bitter night's cold, walking to the Royal Shakespeare Theatre

Yelp
Lunchtime and only have 40m before the Shakespeare's tour. Pleasantly surprised by this lovely restaurant, first thing I have to mention, staff service is exceptional, friendly and checking in every now and then without feeling annoyed. Ordered lamb shank and a glass of house red. Lamb was perfectly cooked, I did feel that the gravy sauce was the weakest link wishing it to be thicker and bolder in flavor but that's more a personal preference.

Yelp
We love Yelp because of places like Lambs. We stopped in Stratford-Upon-Avon for great theatre and followed with a visit to Lambs, just across the road and around the corner from the Royal Shakespeare Company. This restaurant caters well for show times with ample seating and quick, excellent service in a beautiful space. We started with delicious grilled haloumi and tender, perfectly cooked salt and pepper squid followed by possibly the best calves liver with pancetta and crispy fried shallot we have ever had. You may note multiple mentions of the sticky toffee pudding in reviews for this restaurant; it's for the very good reason that it is really, really tasty. Highly recommended place to enjoy.

Yelp
It was very tasty! The food was cooked exactly as asked for, good variety on the menu, and the location is hard to beat. Only (very small complaint since they can't control it) was we were seated next to the window and it was QUITE warm. We should have asked to be seated somewhere else to be honest, but the meal was still good and didn't ruin the experience.

Yelp
The food has sort of a homemade taste to it. The ingredients tasted very fresh and the restaurant felt clean and bright inside. Our waitress was very nice too.

Yelp
Really good restaurant. Went there for the set menu at 17.30, pre theatre. It was £19 for 3 courses, great choices on the menu and all the food was excellent. Really tasty and well presented, and good portion sizes too. The decor is very nice and the staff were very friendly and effeicient. They know you need to get to the theatre on time of you're coming in at 17.30 or before, so no worries there with slow service.

Yelp
What a great experience. We were seated straight away and the staff were warm and welcoming. The decor is modern yet welcoming and I was buzzing to see a Mckenzie Thorpe upon the wall (with a lamb theme of course). Drinks orders taken whilst we perused the menu. Wine arrived and we placed our food order. I had the Fillet Steak with hand cut Chips - steak was ordered as medium. When asked if all was well by the attentive staff I mentioned it was a little too well done for my liking and they immediately took it away and returned a new steak that was perfect, they also brought freshly cooked chips - lovely! My wife ordered the Lamb Shank with Mashed Potatoes, also delicious. Overall, can't fault the place and will definitely go back there. Thumbs up and thank you Lambs!

Yelp
We had dinner here, the first night here. We walked around the corner and found this. The Cajun chicken was very delightful. The rack of lamb was delicious. The waiting staff was very gracious and helpful. They were very knowledgeable and friendly. Worth a visit.

Yelp
Had a quick Sunday lunch before going to the Waterside. Absolutely cracking prime rib with huge yorkshires and crispy roast potatoes. Fantastic food. Atmosphere great as well. Lovely old English building with exposed beams etc. Service was top notch too.

Yelp
This was one of the best restaurants we went to on our England trip. Amazing food and service! The Carmel Toffee Pudding with vanilla ice cream is to DIE for. As was the mango chicken and the fish and chips! It is in a really cool building. Great atmosphere!

Yelp
Sunday lunch was the order of the day here yesterday for myself and three friends and by the time we left there were 4 sets of near-wiped-clean crockery and four very full stomachs! Our overall experience here was fantastic. That's not to say there were individual areas that let it down, quite simply, EVERYTHING was fantastic. The waitress was friendly, chatty and helpful; no request was too difficult (even our cheeky ask for extra roasts and yorkshire puds was granted at no extra cost!). We gorged on an overflowing plate of roast beef and all the trimmngs (extra gravy, horseradish and mustard served as standard = big thumbs up!), followed by a mouth-watering bowl of crumble (served with custard, cream or ice cream) all for £16.50. Some other people have noted that they thought this place was expensive, but I think this is fantastic value. The taste, selection, portion size and quality was very good for less than £20. The restaurant itself is very quaint. It is larger on the first floor and is tastefully decorated in keeping with the old traditional wooden beams which line the ceilings throughout. I would highly recommend this restaurant. We were certainly glad we popped in!

Yelp
Wow where do I start? The atmosphere the service the food and the service. All excellant. Would certainly recommend it

Yelp
The decor is great. The service is great. I just found the food to be a little odd. We got the prix fixe theatre menu. It seems as though the people who ordered off the a la carte menu have better quality food.

Yelp
Followed the Yelp reviews here. I had the herb crusted rack of lamb with dauphinois potatoes and mustard green beans, alongside two pints of Peroni, and followed with the chocolate mousse cake. All was superb. The service was much better than most British restaurants. The waitstaff were just attentive enough, without being overbearing. The atmosphere certainly has a lot of charm, as it is located inside a classically British older-than-time building. I will definitely eat here again, should I return to the area.

Yelp
We gave this a try when we stopped over in Stratford-upon-Avon. We started with the crayfish cocktail and parsnip soup, both of which were quite tasty. I had herb crusted rack of lamb which was cooked medium rare and delicious. My husband had linguine with shellfish which had plenty of clams and shrimp. He liked it very much. We ended with Eton's Mess which was a lovely pavlova with passion fruit. We also had sticky toffee pudding with toffee sauce and ice cream. Both incredibly sweet and scrumptious! There is a very nice atmosphere and the wait staff was attentive.

Yelp
Came here for dinner based on previous Yelp reviews and was not disappointed! Amazing service from the moment we stepped in the door. Beautiful atmosphere. Food was wonderful and well priced. Had the roast loin of pork and my husband had the shepherds pie. Both lovely. We are only in Stratford for one night but would definitely come back to Lambs if we are ever here again.

I followed yelp score/comments here and I was not disappointed. Authentic building. Nice service. The lamb is great of course so don't miss it.

Yelp
We've been visiting Lambs for years and think it's time we made the effort to give it the good review it deserves. It's one of the few places that consistently offers an excellent level of service and quality of the food. I don't know how they manage it but for a restaurant they seem to have loyal staff who have been there a while and know the job inside out, they also have enough of them. The fixed price menu for lunch is very good value and the a la carte isn't bad either especially considering how good it is - compared to some Warwickshire gastro pubs it's a bargain. It's a smart but unpretentious place and everyone is welcome from younger couples out on a first date to older people who obviously enjoy the more indulgent things in life - you'll also see RSC actors in there, we once sat next to David Tennant! The toilets are very good, always clean with nice liquid soap and paper towels. And they don't charge extra for a basket of bread unlike some! if you run a pub/restaurant or are considering it, I'd recommend a visit to Lambs so you can see how it should be done.

Yelp
Have just left this place after being told to keep it down by the assistant manager because my 1 year old daughter was apparently being too loud for the tomb like ambiance of this apparently previously well reviewed restaurant. We had entered and asked if children were okay, seemingly so as they provide high chairs, and were then took upstairs to a room on our own: obviously to ensure that my daughter's corrupting noise was kept away from all the other customers. As my daughter starting babbling and we began to play and talk to her, the assistant manager no less stood at the entrance to the room, not having the decency to come and speak to us at our table, and asked us to keep it down as other people can hear. Needless to say my partner and I were absolutely disgusted and we decided to leave. Voicing our disgust to the other members of staff they were extremely apologetic for their manager's behaviour, who had by this point disappeared. Our experience here has tainted our family day out. I can only say if you fancy a meal out with your family avoid this place unless you wish to be embarrassed!!

Yelp
A great restaurant in an 16th century building. Attentive service from all of the waitstaff. I noted on my reservation that it was my wife's birthday and we were sat in a quiet corner and she was given a candle with her desert which surprised her very much. The food was wonderful, the portions plentiful, prices reasonable, and a great wine list. Highly recommended for a nice dinner with our without theater afterwards.

Qype User (bizzyl…)

Yelp
A really great find. The staff are friendly, the food is super. The pre theatre menu is a little more expensive than surrounding restaurants, but well worth it. The only reason I've not given five stars is that although the service is good, if they are very, very busy and you're going to the theatre, getting your meal finished in time can sometimes be a bit of a rush. So book in advance and get there by six o clock at the latest if you're going to see a play and you can enjoy the food without giving yourself indigestion. Definitely a favourite restaurant of ours to visit.

Yelp
Went last night, great food service and atmosphere. Compares well with other restaurants down sheep st

Qype User (Arni…)

Yelp
Very very good. Even though it is very expensive i highly recommend a visit. The food is fantastic!! The staff are friendly, and welcoming. The resturant itself is quite small however i think this makes the resturant even better.
