"A short walk from Six Po, Lamei serves an expansive menu of Sichuan-style hot pot as well as other iconic dishes from the region, such as mapo tofu, crispy pork strips, and cumin lamb sticks. The hot pot selection includes seafood, poultry, beef, and lamb; try Sichuan locals’ favorites such as duck and goose intestines and beef tripe. Broth options range from non-spicy mushroom or tomato bone broths to vegetarian mala to Chongqing-style “crazy” spicy." - Valerie Li Stack

La Mei Hot Pot is an absolute gem for anyone who loves authentic and flavorful hot pot experiences. From the moment you walk in, the inviting aroma and warm atmosphere set the tone for an unforgettable meal. The ingredients are incredibly fresh, and the variety of options ensures there’s something for everyone. The broth options are a standout—rich, aromatic, and full of depth. We’ve been coming here almost twice a month for six months last year and have started doing the same this year as well. We’ve brought numerous friends along, and everyone has loved it! Our go-to order is the double broth with veggies, lamb, and tofu, and we always opt for the hand-pulled noodles—they are absolutely delicious and a must-try. The service is impeccable, with staff who are friendly, attentive, and eager to make recommendations. They make sure everything runs smoothly, from explaining the menu to ensuring your table has everything you need. The attention to detail truly enhances the dining experience. The quality of the food and the overall experience make the prices more than reasonable. Whether you’re a hot pot aficionado or trying it for the first time, La Mei Hot Pot is a must-visit. We’ll definitely continue coming back and recommending it to all our friends!

Amazing 10/10 recommend. $28/person AYCE for lunch Mon-Sun 11:30-4:30pm. The soup bases and options are delicious and I was FULL by the end. Excellent service and great sauce. This is gonna be my new go-to hot pot, can’t beat the price and location and quality.

I've been meaning to try LaMei for a while. The restaurant is quite spacious. We ended up using one pot between 5 people, which I think is close to the reasonable limit that can comfortably use one pot. We got the two flavor broth with bone broth and the spicy premium beef tallow broth. I don't remember if we got mild or medium, but it was very spicy. I didn't end up using any of my sauce because the spicy broth was so strongly flavored. The highlight for me was definitely the shrimp paste, but I haven't really met a shrimp paste that I don't like. The fish fillet was also pretty good, as was the sliced premium beef (the fatty one). I wouldn't get the ribeye or marinated spicy beef again -- those didn't have good texture. There were a couple of things for which we weren't sure of the freshness -- the bamboo fungus, for example, had some black spots and didn't taste great. I hope it wasn't mold... The sauce bar had a good selection, but it did cost $2.95 per person. And if you get the spicy broth, I don't think the sauce is needed. I don't know what it was, but the food was *really* hot which made it a bit hard to eat for impatient people like me. Overall I liked the shrimp paste, but nothing else was particularly notable. I prefer the broth and meats at Happy Lamb AYCE, so I would definitely go there over here.

Google
This was our first time trying a hot pot and we had an amazing experience. We tried two broths and happy we went with mild for the hot side. I can take heat but my heavens it was hot and tasty, both broths were unbelievably flavourful. For sides we went with beef and pork with a veggie assortment and made our own sauce concoction at the bar. If you haven’t tried a hot pot I would encourage you to give them a try.

Came on a snowy Monday evening and there was no wait. Perfect weather for hot pot. They have a rack along the wall where you can hang your coat inside a bag and zip it up so it won't smell after. Great service, everyone was very attentive and friendly. The fried milk was very crunchy and not too sweet even if dipping in the condensed milk. The Udon is plentiful and enough for 2. The fish balls with fish roe inside were small but still tasty. The beef and lamb pieces were smaller than other places but the quality is also better than some others. We also got chicken gizzard (not pictured). Only issue I have with this is, it was raw and covered in spice seasoning. Once you put it in the pot to cook, the seasoning comes off and mixes into the broth. So now the broth doesn't taste the same. If you want sauce (even soy sauce), they charge $3 per person. I don't know anyone that doesn't need sauce to eat hot pot so don't have a choice. Their sauce bar (get your own) has most of the necessary sauces needed.

If you like hot pot or haven't tied yet, come to this place. Close to Coolidge corner station. You first prepare your sauce from the buffet and later your desserts. We had a 2 broths mild and non spicy. Mild was very spicy for us 🥵. Very tasty and delicious, try boiling different meats or vegetables. Fun activity and a good meal. We spent About $30 / each for four.

They offer all you can eat for lunch everyday including weekend! The food is fresh and delicious. The ice cream desert is beautiful too! Great value!

It’s an extremely tasty hot pot that you’ll find difficult to stop eating! I loved their condiments counter: it has everything from chili oil to peanut sauce. I also loved their menu which has a lot of variety for hot pot additions. One suggestion though is to give a little flexible to customers for ordering whatever they want. We were a group of 9 and wanted to go with drinks first - the server told us that’s not possible and we should order a hotpot first. Secondly, the coat hanging area can get quickly congested in winters, maybe you guys should try to address that and expand it somewhere else (since it in the path for customers and servers). I loved all the food here and so did all other 8 folks in my group. There’s parking outside the restaurant on street which makes it convenient if you get one. I highly recommend this hotpot place for anyone looking for it! :)

Yelp
Tried this place the other day and it was sooo good! It's a bit pricy because you have to order the items individually but the quality was so good. We ordered half portions on a lot of the meats and they give a lot. It's comparably to a full portion at other hotpot places. The ambiance is nice and good for casual or special occasion. Our server was also really sweet despite it being busy. My friend asked me to go back already

Lizzie Y.

Yelp
LaMei offers both hotpot and bbq. We decided to go with just hotpot this day. For soup bases, we did two: spicy and house special. We ordered what we typically order which is spicy marinated beef, ribeye beef, brown sugar rice rolls, and napa. The spicy marinated beef was interesting because it seems that they pound pepper seeds into the meat, which I honestly did not find enjoyable eating. We definitely struggled to finish it. For fish, we ordered the carp fish, instead of our usual white fish because our server suggested it to us. The fish was okay... we probably would have liked the white fish more but it was nice to try. Overall, this place is nothing special for hotpot. It was not my favorite place. The soup bases were not that flavorful nor spicy either. Our server was super nice though but I am not sure if I would come back here to eat since there are many other hotpot places that are better.

Yelp
The service here is great and I love that they have a coat rack and protectors to keep the hot pot smells out of our jackets. Beware that the sauce bar costs extra per person. Caution on the spice as well; they're not playing around. The bone broth and the premium spicy broth are both really good, but the spicy one was definitely spicy. We got the medium, but we might try the mild next time. The snowflake short rib, the napa cabbage, the meatballs, and beef tongue were all super delicious. I highly recommend it!

Yelp
This was my first hot pot experience! We came in pretty late on a Sunday night, and were given a table immediately. Overall, I would say this was a good experience - of what we ordered, I enjoyed everything. However, I wish we were given a bit more guidance on how much to order. We both left a bit hungry - but didn't order more because it seemed they were cleaning up for the night. However, definitely interested to try again and try more variety!

Yelp
Huge shout out to the most awesome waiter -A Tan ( hope I got his name right... Omg I'm getting old, can't remember his name right now!). Service here is great, very attentive. A Tan even went out of his way to help me with an unusual request even though I was not assigned to him. So if you stop by and are lucky enough to get seated in his section, you'll get great service that's typically not found in Chinese restaurants ( sad but true). Now onto the food. I had the bone broth with tofu combo and bunch of vegetables. Everything tasted great. You can make your own sauce at the sauce bar. I was in the mood for vegetable soup, so this hotpot definitely hit the spot. Overall, a great dinner. The only con of this place is that it's quite expensive. I spent over $50 for just 1 person

Yelp
FINALLY went here after walking by it so many times and seeing all of my friends go to it. Hmmmmm ... so many thoughts. I really wanted to LOVE it and have it be my new favorite hot pot place because everyone else seems to rave about it, but my experience really didn't fulfill this destiny. I still really liked it ... but I can't say it's my favorite or that I am in love with it. First, I found it excruciatingly overpriced. What is $100 at another hot pot place was almost $200 here. For me, it just wasn't worth the extra cost. I eat a lot of veggies and simple beef, which is basic at every hot pot place, so for me ... why pay like almost double??? I will say, however, is that they have a lot of exotic meats and offerings. I'm thinking that this may be the reason people love this place so much. Unfortunately, I pass on those items. Second, the quality control of this place really could use some work. They appear to have a more upscale, sophisticated vibe, in order to have a higher price point. They have the exotic meats and offerings, as well as coat covers for your coat. All nice ... but PLEASE have clean dishes and utensils!!! There were many dishes at the "sauce" and "side dish" bar that were not 100% clean. Still had dried food on them. Had to search for a bowl that was clean. Then ... a glass and a utensil at our table were also not clean. Our waiter brought us a clean glass, but he brought us the wrong utensil replacement. We had to ask for a new utensil again, which appeared to annoy him. Kind of off-putting. I Lastly, some things I really loved about this place were its mushroom broth and its hand pulled noodles. Both items were very tasty and stood out when compared to other hot pot places. Those things will help me come back to this place one day to try it again and hopefully have a better experience. I know this review is atypical from other patron's ... I just feel that the cost of this place did not outweigh the benefits.

Yelp
Solid Hot Pot place in Brookline, we called at around 4pm and made a reservation for 5:45pm on a Friday. Service was pretty good, we didn't have to wait extremely long for anything. The food and soup base was good quality for the price. We didn't get to sit in the main room but there was a smaller room on the side that had music videos playing and you can karaoke. They also have a bar right at the front for you to grab drinks while you're waiting for a table.

Katherine C.

Yelp
I have been here numerous times and every single time it has been amazing. The service here is incredible. The second I think I may need more broth they are already coming up to me asking if I would like more. I usually get the hand pulled noodles which they offer to pull for you, or they will give you an entire lesson on how to do them yourself! The staff is so kind and even brought me a hair tie so my hair wouldn't be in my face while eating. Spicy beef tallow broth medium spice is what I usually get which has a perfect amount of heat and flavor and the quality of all the ingredients I have tried (watercress, enoki mushroom, pork, beef, fried tofu, hand pulled noodles, shrimp paste etc) are extremely high quality and fresh. Out of the many popular hotpot restaurants I have tried in the Boston area, La Mei is by far the best hotpot and definitely worth the money. It has a calm atmosphere and is a great place to enjoy a meal on your own or with friends.

Yelp
We really enjoyed this hotpot place but it's definitely on the expensive side! The quality of the beef and lamb was excellent. I'd skip the marinated spicy beef next time though. We tried two broths: bone broth and spicy beef tallow broth. They were both very flavorful. I was surprised by how spicy even the mild spicy broth was! Their sauce bar had a good range of options and was clean. And included some bonus fruit! Service was friendly. We were celebrating a big birthday and appreciated the small dessert at the end! Overall, would love to come again but probably for a special occasion :)

Mandy Z.

Yelp
very nice hot pot! haighly recommended! Will come back again, my kids love the duck kidney very much

Audrey M.

Yelp
Great service! Yummy food! I recommend for a weekend lunch. We had the hot pot and the barbecue and I honestly think the hotpot was better but both was good!

Sonya F.

Yelp
Nice standard hotpot place, the soup base and meat were good. The sauce bar had a small selection of fruits as well for when we were waiting for food to come out. Also gave us these fashionable bibs that kept us tidy!

Paige L.

Yelp
I have been here three times and after my visit last night, it was finally time to write a glowing review. La Mei is just simply delicious! I can't get enough of the tomato broth....I could drink that every day it's so GOOD. Great bone broth and mushroom broth as well. The service is fast and very friendly. The sauce bar is amazing and they have recommended combinations listed in case you're not sure where to start. I had a foodie friend visit me from Maine and she had never tried hot pot, so I took her here and she was LOVING it. I was really happy because she has super high expectations and I wanted to deliver. I knew La Mei would. Our server checked on us often, keeping our water glasses full and even bringing over a special "house sauce" that she had made. Apparently it was a "secret recipe" and I wish we could know what it is because it was sooo tasty. The atmosphere is very clean, white, shiny. Even the wall where you hang coats has extra cleanliness, as they will put your coat in a plastic garment bag (why? not sure! to protect from a wild broth splash? the steam?) which is some nice attention to detail. We ordered the tomato broth and bone broth, lamb/beef combo platter, prime rib, veggie platter, white beech mushrooms, and udon noodles. A success on every front. Can't wait to bring more friends here next time :)

Yelp
I walked by this place all the time and finally got a group together to go! The service here is above and beyond. Not only do they give you bibs for the hotpot, someone also brought me a hair tie to pull my hair back The food was good--spicier than I expected, but super satisfying. It's family style, unlike the individualized hot pot at spring and the like. Overall a great experience and would recommend! The sauce bar is extra, but with the other stuff like fruit and etc I feel like it's worth the splurge.

Yelp
I think this is one of the best hot pot restaurants in Boston. I came here with some friends on a Saturday night. For drinks, they do have some cocktails and frozen margaritas including Pina Colada and Strawberry Daiquiri. The daiquiris were good, but didn't have that much alcohol. However, my friend got a green mixed drink that was mostly alcohol. For the hot pot broth, we ordered half mala and half beef bone. Be warned that the mala is extremely spicy! They have a sauce station where they have a large variety of different sauces and condiments including soy sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame sauce, chili oil, barbecue sauce, vinegar, garlic, peanut, cilantro, and green onions. On top of the sauce station they also have oranges, peanuts, and tomatoes. Their hotpot menu is huge and includes a lot of interesting items such as pig brain, beef omasum, duck blood, and goose intestines. Besides hotpot, the menu also has dishes that the kitchen can prepare. For the hot pot, I loved what we ordered which was the short rib, high choice beef, lamb shoulder, quail egg, fishball, mussels, and enoki mushroom. We also ordered the lobster tail, but at $12 for one, we were very disappointed that it was frozen. I would also recommend getting the hand pull noodle because a server will come out and do a little show as they prepare the noodle for you. We got the crispy fried milk for dessert which was delicious and came with a sweet dipping sauce.

Scott C.

Yelp
LaMei is an amazing hot pot gem in the middle of Allston's bustling Asian food scene. We went on Thursday night around 5:30 PM and the restaurant had no wait. Fast forward an hour into our meal, and the place was packed. We opted for the bone broth and mushroom broth for our two soup bases. We ordered the plate of ribeye, veggie platter, mushroom fungus, hand pulled noodles, and instant ramen noodles. The restaurant does charge for sauce per person so beware before going too crazy. The meat was absolutely melt in your mouth amazing. The veggies were crisp and fresh. They even hand pulled the noodles table side prior to placing in the broth. For dessert we had the bing fen, which was garnished with gogi berries, watermelon, and haw flakes. Great food!

Remona F.

Yelp
I celebrated my 47th birthday at LAMEI - Hot Pot & BBQ. Food was amazing !!!! The wait staff and service were remarkable. Lily was kind and helpful...she demonstrated how to use the hot pot and grill and was very patient when answering my questions. The restaurant is clean, and the food is fresh. They also put your coat and personal items into a closed zipped clothing bag so that your items will not soak up the smell of food.

Paul P.

Yelp
First time doing the Hot Pot experience and Lamei knocked it out of the park. Warm, inviting environment filled with attentive and professional staff Our waiter, Tai, was magnificent. Explained everything clearly and with enthusiasm - he even made me his special, secret condiment sauce combination Food was fresh, flavorful and visually appealing I really enjoyed The spicy cold noodles and steamed dumpling appetizers and I've had many different types of each. They were unique with tasty flavors and amazing sauce. (they could have been a 6) We had the assorted greens, assorted mushrooms, chicken, beef and shrimp to add to the pot with two different bases going- DELICIOUS Food was light - we had just the right amount Priced correctly - great value We'll be back

Ellie C.

Yelp
Second time here and just as good as the first! Took my family to LaMei when they were visiting from out of town and it did not disappoint. The quality of food, consistency between visits, and service are all exceptional, definitely worth a visit!

Gabrielle K.

Yelp
This place is pretty quiet the times I have gone right at Coolidge corner. They have a variety of options and their apps are delicious espically the fried crispy milk. They have a sauce counter for you to choose what sauces you want to use or make your own. The servers are very attentive and always give good recommendations. The last time I went I'd gone over 3-4 months in between with my mom and I went another time and they remembered us.

Mia D.

Yelp
Hidden gem. Best hot pot I have found outside of Boston. Prices are reasonable and food is extremely fresh. Staff are courteous, informative and attentive. Ample parking. They also have hotpot at the bar which is pretty cool. A few things to note--- mala broth at regular spice is so hot my lips went numb and my nose tan. So if you not up for super spicy get the mild. And they have the hand spun noodles table side in providence:

Virginia T.

Yelp
We went on a Saturday night at 6pm and it was packed! Wait time was 1.5 hrs. They text you when your table is ready and you can check your line in the queue. Service was ok but it was busy so they were a bit slow taking out order and giving us our check. Food came quickly and was good. Extra charge per person if you want the dipping sauce bar. Food was good. A tad on the pricey side. I think Id enjoy it more if it wasnt so crowded. Would go again. Spicy soup base is spicey and with lots of chili peppers!

Gennie L.

Yelp
lamei has great hot pot! we had a party of 14 and they were able to seat us very quickly with no reservation! the food was prepped very quickly. we ordered a ton of food and the total for 4 people was about $250 including tax and tip. there's a station where you can make your own sauce. ingredients include soy sauce, oyster sauce, garlic, sesame oil, peanut sauce, cilantro, scallion and lots more. they also have free appetizers such as peanuts, beef tripe and fruit. all of the servers are very nice, talkative and friendly. there's also convenient street parking right outside the restaurant. it's located in coolidge corner, so super accessible! overall rating: 9/10

Marina Q.

Yelp
Pretty good food, easy location access and friendly and good service staff. The store layout is clean and nice, and they have a coat rack for jackets to prevent smell.

VietCitron T.

Yelp
Glad we ventured into Brookline and tried LaMei. Very good variety of exotic and fresh ingredients for hot pot. Had the tri- flavors broths they were so tasty! Bonus w/ the the sauce bar. How do you know I love fermented tofu beancurd sauce? Service was excellent, the waitress asked why I insisted she removed the duck web when it was still full, I said I didn't like it because I wasn't used to the taste, not because it wasn't fresh. Later on, she took it off the bill! That was so kind of her, I wasn't asking for any refund or expected anything. We had another waitress stretching the hand pull noodles at the table. The gal meticulously pulled the noodles until the chewiness, thickness, and softness of that noodles were perfect. I ate every single piece of that hand drawn noodles. LOL. It was sooooo good, better than any hand drawn noodles in Boston that I have been to so far. One thing they could improve on is the fish paste, it lacks the bouncy texture of good fish paste, this is probably more of a technique thing. :) We really enjoyed our time and the fresh ingredients here so I'm looking forward to bring my parents next weekend!

Keyi L.

Yelp
Perfect Chinese hotpot, definitely real Chongqing style and Chongqing spicy! The soup originates from real 茶树菇, which is even rare to see in China!

Thomas A.

Yelp
This place is a great hotpot location in Brookline. But be forewarned their level of spice is at another level. My wife and I went for the half half hot pot and the spicy side we asked for it to be mild. It was still super spicy even to my wife's standard and she can tolerate good spice. The ingredients are fresh. And they have a sauce bar but to be honest the broths were so flavorful you do not need any additional sauces to dip in. Recommend to get the hand pulled noodles. It's a nice show and get a milk based drink. You will need it for the spicy broth.

Hebe L.

Yelp
I like the environment, it is clean and it doesn't have strong smell. The food is really fresh and it came pretty fast! The $6 Henan Hand-pull noodles including a real person pulling the noodles in front of you. They waited for awhile to come, I almost finished everything lol. The people there are nice. It's a bit pricey but everything is very fresh, would go back again! The fried milk is really cool, was my first time trying that! It's sweet but not too sweet! When you emerged, rmb to ask them to hang your jackets

Thanh L.

Yelp
We came around 3pm. The place wasn't to busy. Staff was friendly and helpful. The guide us through the picture menu and suggested some item to order. We got the ribeye Slices, beef & lamb combo , boneless short rib for meats. Also ordered fried bean curd, shrimp , mushroom Combo and veggies combo. I suggest the 3 taste favor for broth ( herbal Broth,Chinese Butter, Tomato Soup) . Everything that came out had a nice presentation. The quality of everything was fresh and decent. Overall, it's a nice time but pricy because you get charged for everything.

Amy C.

Yelp
I originally came here for the hand pulled noodles, but I ended up ordering a bunch of items to try! Everything was very fresh and their broth was different from other hot pot places in Boston, love it! Be careful with the Chinese butter broth, it can be very spicy! They also have a self serve sauce bar with cut up fruits! Love that there were so many options to choose from! Parking: street parking

Tom Y.

Yelp
Good food & good service. This place is authentic thus bustling with customers. Caution: their spicy soup base is real hot so be sure to take your friend who constantly boasts about his/her spicy tolerance here. I got the dancing noodles and they let me dance ayy

Tommy H.

Yelp
We had a great dinning experience here on a Saturday evening and it earned a 5 star rating. We had a party of twelve and ordered 2 large hot pots. One pot with 2 flavors and the other with 3. We ordered most of the usual dishes: short rib, premium beef, chicken, pork, shrimp, beef balls, fish balls, fish tofu, beef tripe, chicken gizzard, grass carp, salmon, shrimp paste, bean curd, enoki and shitake mushroom, bok choy, watercress, and noodles. All the dishes were fresh and well presented. We enjoyed everything, maybe except the carp, they had a tougher texture when cooked even though they were sliced very thin, we'll probably try the flounder slices next time. There is a sauce buffer bar, $2.95 pp where you make your own dipping sauce. The best part was the wait staff and mgmt, starting with the reservation process through the dining process. Our waitress, Claudia (?) was very patient and helpful with the ordering. She did not rush us, and explained everything clearly. They were also very accommodating with the seating since we had a 3 mo. infant with us. Everyone enjoyed the evening. We tipped on top of the 18% gratuity for a large party because the service was excellent. I recommend LaMei Hot Pot highly.

Frank C.

Yelp
Finally find a place that serves Chinese food that really taste like Chinese food. The cost is expensive but there's endless people waiting, be prepared to wait or make a reservation.

Cindy H.

Yelp
Had a fabulous night here for a late birthday celebration. I had very high expectations seeing such positive reviews and being a hot pot lover. My friends and I started with the beef tongue, which was really tasty and refreshing. Great texture and flavor. I really wanted to try the ChongQing crazy mala but I was scared it might be too spicy (if that exists for me). My friends and I settled on the popular Jingongge Chinese butter and beef bone broth. I only had the spicy Chinese butter and it was awesome. Spicy, salty, umami for sure. It was definitely spicier than I thought so the light-hearted should be warned and go milder. I didn't think I ordered that much, but the portions were larger than expected. Definitely go for the crunchy meatballs and combos and hand-pulled noodles. The selection is pretty standard, plus some really unique options like eel fish balls, pork brain, sea snail slices, etc. A good balance of made in-house vs. frozen. The sauce bar is absolutely worth the fee. I loved the selection of minced herbs and sauces although I wish they made homemade chili oil/crisp instead of offering Laoganma. They offer alcohol including cheap cocktails, but they contain very little booze. You still get your money's worth, just don't expect high quality cocktails. While they offer soy milk, there were no bubble tea or milk tea options which I hope they can add over time. Staff is attentive and friendly. My vaccine card was checked right when I entered and all staff were wearing masks. The restaurant was spotless and new. Easily one of my favorite hot pot spots in Boston after one visit! I will be a regular for sure.

Peter P.

Yelp
The hand-pulled noodles are what you want here; they are stretched right at your table by the staff and have great texture. The rest of the hotpot offerings are mediocre. Their mild-level spicy broth actually has a decent amount of heat so beware, especially if you dare to try their extremely spicy broth.

Tulsa H.

Yelp
Decent hot pot. Great variety of sauces to make it yourself and to choose from. I would say, you can make most of the hot pot yourself if you have the tools at home but if not, then it's great to visit LaMei for a quick bite.

Damon B.

Yelp
Our, my wife and I, first time experiencing a hot pot! We can't stop thinking or talking about it. It's a great place to eat when you're in Boston. Excellent suggestions made the waiter to get the Udon noodles with our meal. Now we need to find one in St. Louis, I'm hooked!

Yaritza A.

Yelp
Recently visited here for a new hot pot location. It was pricey for the little food. We had 2 batch of meat, 4 veggies, and 2 small seafood meats and it was over $200. I've eaten more with four people and paid less elsewhere. The staff weren't very attentive. We constantly had to call staff over to fill our waters or had to wait long until someone came around to ask for additional stuff. At the end, they asked why i tipped low and explained the situation and the waitress said she will have the manager come speak to us. Which i didn't get the point because i explained the same thing and he understood. The food was good, the variety of food choices was large, broths were good. But unconcerned waiters and pricey.

Yelp
Disclaimer: Although this is a hot pot restaurant, we did not order hot pot. But still was a good experience! We ordered a couple of rounds of their cold dishes - specifically, their beef tongue and spicy chicken. And it was great! These dishes pair really well with a bowl of warm rice and were also more reasonable price-wise compared to some of the other pre-cooked options they had. The waiters were also super nice. They also give you a little plastic apron to protect your clothing in case you accidentally splash on yourself lol. The overall venue is also super cute! The most aesthetic Chinese restaurant I've been to. Everything from their wall art and business cards to their menu was beautifully designed. A good option if you're feeling Chinese, even if you're not specifically looking for hot pot!

Yelp
Wow! I absolutely loved this place from the moment we walked in. The staff are super friendly, they offer garment bags for your coat, and there's a sauce bar!! The staff were also very helpful in answering any questions we had about our meal or how long to cook the food and we were able to take leftover broth home which is not usually an option at other hot pot restaurants. The food was delicious and so was the sake flight. Highly recommend and will be back soon!

Yelp
Delicious hot pot. Great attentive service. Lamb and baby bok choy. Great drink selection. Worth a stop here if you are in Boston!

Yelp
I have been introduced to this place years ago and I'm unsure why I'm leaving my first review. Love this place and I tend to come back multiple times a week for some spicy broth and crab sticks. Service is amazing here and the quality is superb. Currently forming this review now as I head there now with my partner for the second time this week and it's only Tuesday. Night time is definitely much more busy than the day time but the ambiance at night made it so much cozier than the times when we come in for lunch. Thanks la mei!

Yelp
It's amazing restaurant for the hot pot. I order the Chinese butter broth and it also too much spicy for me,so next time I think I should take the chili up it should be good. This is the most authentic hot pot I've had in Boston. Mushroom Soup

Yelp
This was my first hot pot spot. It's not for me. The food way so so. It's a lot to order and I don't like the idea of making my own food. Defeats the purpose of eating out but it was a fun experience. The staff is hilarious, I had a good time. The establishment itself is beautiful. Everything is beautiful and modern. The prices are decent.

Yelp
What a fun experience with friends. This was the first time I had been to a restaurant specifically for Hot Pot. Everything we got was delicious... from the meat, vegetables, mushrooms, tofu and even the broth itself. One caution: when they say the broth is spicy, they mean it. We ordered one with a spice level of 2 (out of 3) and our mouths were on fire. Luckily we got 3 other broths, so used those instead. I will say that it is pretty expensive, so be prepared to pay a bit more money than your average restaurant in Boston.

Yelp
Great food and GREAT service. This post is in appreciation of and gratitude for the server TAI, who made a recent birthday dinner extremely special. We had never had hot pot and had a small child present and Tai guided us in what to order and what to do so we never felt unsure and everything was just incredibly delicious and fun. He was very patient and good-natured and really made our night special. Thank you, Tai!

Yelp
Hot pot wasn't nice. The noodles are okay, but the broths are horrible. They included a 18% tip in the bill and refused to leave it to our discretion. Not coming back.

Yelp
We had an incredible time! Best hot pot experience my friends and I had, hands down. Tai provided wonderful service and helped us choose what best suited us from the food and drink menus. Will definitely return!

Yelp
We came to LaMei Hot Pot spontaneously and were so pleasantly surprised! I would say this is the best hotpot place I've been to in Boston. We had the tomato and herbal soup and both were delicious - we preferred the herbal soup a little more! They had more ingredients than other places we've been! As a Taiwanese, I was impressed with their selection which included pork intestine and duck blood!!! They had a large variety of sauces as well! And let us say... THE HAND PULLED NOODLES. THE BEST! Also, the customer service was just fantastic. Our waitress was so friendly and helpful. All her recommendations turned out to be delicious. Definitely recommend this place and will definitely be back!! - Hitori Sans
