It is truly a unique establishment with the interior being super extra in everything. Even the hooks in the bathroom were mermaid design ! We came for my friends birthday and researched menu online so we were seated as expected. Menu itself here is given on tablets with very nicely designed layout. Our server was an older gentleman who had hard time keeping up so I constantly had to remind him of something or go look for him. Also the cognac was served with ice instead of a warm glass - I also had to go to the bartender to explain why cognac is served warm. Food was very tasty and I was happy to see mussels served in the right pan as in Belgium. The staff was constantly doing arranging and running around which was kinda distracting since the focus needs to be on the guests not the napkins when it's busy. I asked our waiter to make bills as we came in families but we received one bill and when asked hostess to split it the answer was we don't do separate bills otherwise if you want it will be 30 minutes to split them. I have never heard of such rule in a nice restaurant like this. Overall was mediocre experience since we are out of town visiting on a special occasion. The vibe and menu are super good however no structure in management with employees as I saw manager arguing several times right next to our table very loudly with employees. The owner has a true pearl but executive operation is poor and I don't think we will be back.

We went for my brothers birthday and the staff was great. My server was very nice. I had ordered a dish that I could not eat after realizing and the manager was very accommodating and allowed me to swap it out for something else. The food was fresh and tasted great! The Lobster pasta was a favorite at our table, and I loved the seafood carbonara! The fish tacos and Calamari are great starters! I definitely recommend coming to this restaurant. We went on a late Thursday night and the staff was amazing. There were some loud customers but it did not bother us too much. One waiter even showed us the best places to take pictures. We had a great time.

Came here for brunch with my girlfriend, and we had a wonderful experience 💕 the staff was extremely friendly and kind and even allowed us to stroll around to see just how beautiful the space was. We sat up in the mezzanine, and the Mermaid on the wall is beautiful. We ordered a dozen oysters, and they were delicious and super fresh. The fish tacos were good, but the fish itself was a but on the dry side. The Salmon Egg was delicious, and the Eggs Benedict was spot on yummy in my tummy. This place is beautiful and I want to come back for the dinner vibe which I suspect is going to be wonderful and magical.

Absolutely love this restaurant! From the food to the drinks to the atmosphere! I feel like I am dining under the sea! The truffle flatbread and the salmon is delicious! I also think their mock-tails are delightful! The last time I came to celebrate my birthday and the owners and staff truly went above and beyond to make me feel special! You guys rock!

Google
Really beautiful place, many different room to sit in, with different decor, very original setting. Got here for the oyster happy hour, but they have lots of other options on happy hour as well, so I got most of the food on happy hour to try. Everything was delicious, oysters were amazing.. they have 4 kinds of oysters to choose from for the happy hour - and they were all amazing. Calamari, pizza, ceviche were all amazing, crab cakes and tartar duo were okay. Drinks are well-crafted, they have specials on them as well. This place is definitely suitable for a big occasion like a wedding dinner, anniversary dinner, or any other special event (they have separate rooms for big parties as well - and they are all beautiful inside). Will definitely come back here again!

A hidden gem. This place is so beautiful 😍 The owner and staff are so sweet and welcoming. There's a family oriented vibe but a great place for adults esp celebrating a birthday or special occasion. We enjoyed the music (there was Caribbean music playing) and atmosphere so much we didn't want to leave but we had been there for hours lol. The food is delicious with a lovely presentation. You will only regret not going especially if you miss out on the brunch special 😉

Came here for bday brunch and absolutely loved it! The brunch menu is limited but the food choices are great. I enjoyed the burger. Others had the waffle and chicken as well as the salmon and totally enjoyed it. The staff are nice and attentive.

Google
Random find w/ a friend! Thought the interior & vibes were cool so we went in for a spontaneous dinner. Shared a dozen oysters, lobster tostadas, calamari, & a bottle of house white wine and everything was so tasty and fresh! Honestly some of the best oysters I've had. Their music playlist is a bit all over the place & could be finetuned to be better fitting for the restaurant. Overall, highly recommend!

Yelp
Came here for brunch on a Sunday the vibes was great not a lot of people. However the hostess was being very selective with seating and sat us way to close to another party when there was adequate space to seat us elsewhere. The service was so so waiter was mia at times. Otherwise the ambiance was great the drinks were good the food was good as well. We got the unlimited drinks Poloma and the mango margarita. Drink were great! Fish sandwich and fries was great fish fried well.

Yelp
This is one of those places where the decor is amazing and everything else is meh. Ordered the calamari and oysters off their early catch menu. The amount of calamari we got was good for the price but it was cold... The oysters were okay not the best which is sad since this is supposed to be a seafood place or something? I think 1/3 if not more of the oysters were like shriveled up small. Additionally, it was chilly indoors?! Even though they had electric heaters up (the ones meant for outdoor on the patio) but it was not doing much. I sat there bundled up in my winter coat and my friend graciously wrapped me up in her scarf. I get there's fish market in the name but there's really no reason to have it be as cold as one especially in winter. Our server also kept asking me if I wanted to order a drink and I had to say no like three times. I'm not sure why they didn't understand what no means the first time... Also, this is getting long but this is the first time I've seen a place automatically add a 20% gratuity to the bill for a table of two. Pretty baffling. All in all, I'm grateful to have experienced this place so now I know to never come back :)

Yelp
Had a paid for contracted birthday event paid in full almost 2 months ago. Showed up and the restaurant is closed. The neighboring places says they have been closed for 2-3 weeks. This is hilarious considering I was messaging the owner, Lamia, herself 2 days prior to confirm the guest count. Absolutely disgusting scam of a place. Luckily my party of 14 and I were taken care of elsewhere but I hope this place is shut down for good or bankrupt.

Cynthia G.

Yelp
Ambiance: the music here is great. They have hip hop and R&B which I personally enjoy. I came here to celebrate a friends birthday and they bring out sparklers and put on a birthday song while bringing out dessert (you do pay for the dessert). Very fun environment especially for brunch Food: I got the chicken and waffles and they were good. It wasn't anything spectacular but for the price ($16) it was great. Their tres leches cake was also very good. Now for the service: honestly this is the main reason why I'm giving it 2 stars. We had came for a birthday and most of the group was doing bottomless. Two of us at the table do not drink but we were told they still had to charge us for bottomless which was $50... keep in mind the dishes were on average $16-20. Even after telling our waiter that we do NOT drink he didn't care and didn't even offer any alternatives which quite frankly is ridiculous. Could have even offered free non- alcoholic drinks but did not. I think that was quite absurd. Given that we were there for a birthday we paid but i would not recommend this place again. In addition to that, our waiter was terrible. He only checked in with us very few times. We had to constantly go to get his attention to re-up on items for the table. Even when we were asking to bring out the birthday sparklers he said we needed to order a dessert and we asked what they had, he rudely said to look at the menu.. there were 3 desserts, he could have easily just named them. I think this had to do with the tip already being included since it was a larger party. Overall it was quite a disappointing experience.

Lyoka T.

Yelp
I like the ambiance. Very spacious and a lot of marine decore. The drinks are quite good although one of the drinks I had to wait for 40 mins and come ask for it at the bar. I absolutely love the grilled octopus - super tender and flavorful. Lobster pasta is also good. The salt crusted fish tastes good but the amount you get for the price is very small. I wish they didn't carve it for you bit let you eat what you want. But it is a beautiful show.

Julisa H.

Yelp
Loved this place mainly due to the service we received on Thursday night for my friends bday dinner. Thank you to John, Kevin and anthony for such a pleasant time we absolutely enjoyed ourselves. The bartenders Kevin and John made wonderful drinks and treated us like superstars. Anthony was our waiter and was a great time! We did a pre fix menu, family style and received a good amount of food. Everything was tasty and the atmosphere was pleasant. Def would go back and would suggest for a bday dinner.

Shannon M.

Yelp
I was looking for a place to grab a quick drink and bite and I was intrigued by their happy hour. The bartender had a heavy accent, I tried to order an old fashion with their bourbon on happy hour but he unfortunately did not know what an old fashion was so I ordered a glass of champagne since it was on happy hour. I also ordered their calamari. The calamari was over cooked and very salty. I did not end up finishing it, I ordered another drink instead. When I got the check they didn't ring me up for any happy hour specials which was disappointing. Because of the language barrier, I didn't want to go back and forth with him. I would love to give this spot another try because I did see other entrees that looked very appealing and the restaurant was extremely beautiful.

Matt F.

Yelp
Came here for a bottomless brunch deal. Honestly the food is really tasty. The atmosphere also very unique with the old ship/mermaid vibes. My one knock - the cocktails with the bottomless brunch deal are almost exclusively mix, I would go with the mimosas next time for sure

Mikhail V.

Yelp
Salt Baked Striped Bass saved this from being a 1 star. I am not exactly sure the reason for the food and service problems but it feels as if the ownership wants to convert this to a bar or just to let it die. I am not exactly sure which. But let's go with the former. Let's start off with appetizers, fish tacos were ok, not bad but nothing to write home about, mussels were fresh and that was probably the only redeeming value of them. They seemed underseasoned and the sauce you don't want to use your bread to eat. Truffle flat bread was good while it was warm after that it turned into a 3 day old pizza (go figure). The drinks were good but for someone who came to a restaurant and not a bar it is not a saving grace as you may want to have wine rather than a cocktail with your food. Wine list was meh. I mean a seafood restaurant that doesn't have chardonnay by the bottle, I would not expect some of the more unknown Italian varieties like Falanghina or Fiano but lack of ubiquitous Chardonnay? Main courses we had Paella and Salt Baked Striped bass of which the Bass was excellent but the Paella had an iodine taste to the seafood. After a few cocktails you may not feel it but still. And as a cherry on top when it came to desert/coffee and tea there was no coffee... Ok fine and oh by the way no tea cups. On a Saturday night. Come to think of it it seems like there were general problems with dishes because for our white wine we had desert wine glasses. Ambiance is basically a bar at about 8pm the music started blasting so loud that any conversation you may want to have you wouldn't be able to. Stranger was that music would blast for 10 seconds and then cut out and then again and so on and so forth. So if you're looking for food in the area I have to give it an unfortunate "This ain't the place"

Hemalatha K.

Yelp
Opted for the one of the Brunch Deals. Food and Drinks both tasted good and the Service was also quick and efficient. Atmosphere is very cute.

Shaasia L.

Yelp
I have to come back because I didn't get my pics . But the food was good . The crab cakes are micro and they should mention that prior to you ordering. Legit one bite. The surf and Turf was so good. The spinach , fries , lobster and steak. I highly recommend. The seafood carbonara was good as well. Mussels tasted amazing. The calamari was good as well. The waiter was very kind and attentive. The ambiance is gorgeous. I have to come back to take pictures. I was upset I didn't have time to.

Makaylah D.

Yelp
Best carbonara ever! They have a beautiful restaurant with and beautiful back bar. The workers were so friendly and even saying happy birthday to my best friend. She enjoyed her day tremendously. When we got there December 5 around 8 o'clock the restaurant was basically empty which was such a surprise since we had such a great time. 10/10 would definitely come back again!

Jessica J.

Yelp
Food was amazingly fresh but not overbearing. The service was definitely one of kind they were so attentive and I was there for a birthday and they brought out a bubble machine and put on a birthday song over the sound system. This place is beautiful, dimly lit so it created a very lounge-ish ambiance and the music was at a good volume so we could still carry on a conversation.

Reyna N.

Yelp
We were well-cared for at Lamia's Fish Market. The staff is wonderful and welcoming. For a party of 5, the food and service were excellent when we went there for my sister's birthday. The restaurant is stunning in every way. The cove, a front seating area with lighting that is tinged turquoise, has relatively small seating booths. The unique nautical/under-the-sea elegance of the ambiance and design is really breathtaking. You have the impression of dining in an underwater restaurant. I would advise anyone looking for a unique eating experience to visit this place. Everything was really fresh and filling. Lamia's is the ideal spot to recharge with warm comforting food after a long rainy day. Definitely a good time! The drinks were also excellent. We ordered : Grill Octopus Crab Cakes Lobster Tostada Oysters Beer Battered Fish Tacos Lamb Chops Branzino Grilled W/ Butter & Garlic Lobster

Yelp
One of the not great dining experiences I've had in nyc. Got here at 10:00 PM with a reservation and wasn't seated until 10:45 because the people at our table was "taking a long time to leave". Finally sat down at 10:45 and ordered our food, and it didn't come until 11:30. One of our drinks was missing and we were still charged. The crudo was rancid and chewy. The waiter said they had no lamb chop but then the table next to us was able to make two orders of it. The bathroom was unkept and there were used tissues on the sink. They tip themselves 20% automatically, btw.

Stephanie U.

Yelp
This place has a cute ambiance. I know people complain about the servers and a lot of POCs complained about racism. The service isn't the best, they're just busy and inattentive. The food was surprisingly good. Had this mushroom pizza and was wowed by it. The crust had a Parmesan crunch that elevated this simple dish. The linguini with clams or mussels was okay as well, I'm not a light sauce kind of girl. The drinks were underwhelming, I would come back but not itching to

Paula W.

Yelp
Came here with a large group on a Saturday night and ordered a bunch of everything to try. The crab cakes were delicious and the salmon was great too! The decor of the place was really nice as well.

Don I.

Yelp
An amazing atmosphere from the time you walk in you seen in a sea of colors, aquatic art and smells of delicious food We enjoyed craft cocktails, appetizers and main dishes and all were fantastic Staff was friendly and attentive too Highly recommend!

Yelp
01/07/23: Sooo much happened with this dining don't know where to start. Decor: Very chic. Once you enter it's like whoa was not expecting this. Greeted by a very friendly host liked the fact I was able to seated while I waited for my friend. Once seated wasn't feeling being sandwiched between others when there were available table for two available. I asked I was moved. Section called the mermaid room you definitely felt like under the sea. Wasn't as busy but as time progressed it did, highly recommend reservations. For me it's the little things that are impressive. Menus.. get this actual iPads, so cool. At times to scan those QR codes can be bothersome. Drinks: ordered mimosa and my GF ordered mojito. Not big drinkers so we didn't do the unlimited. Why did she return with 2 mimosas we said one should be a mojito she's like it is. Folks mojitos are not yellow and ummm where's the mint the staple of mojitos. Anywho it was taken back and the real mojito was presented. Although it took a while for the two drinks to arrive at our table. Fast forward she ordered a second mojito no mint at all in the drink. Food: Having fun swiping all through the iPad trying to decide between appetizers, entrees etc excited to try few items. That was quickly short lived as we were told can only order from brunch section. Total buzz kill. I opted for the branzino although it was butterflied it was not filet. It wasn't bad depending on the spot some parts more seasoned than the other, I did enjoy would have been better without bones. The negative it's comes with naaaada. Really just fish who does that..anyway I asked if I could get a side I decided on salad however that never manifested. I also ordered the seafood flatbread it came with only mussels. I asked the server menu also stated Shrimp and Calamari included. It was taken away and new one with all the ingredients finally came. I enjoyed it and the Jalapeño gave it a nice kick. My GF ordered seafood omelet. It came with all the seafood and she stated it was yummy and she enjoyed. Lastly the elite Yelper I am I checked in upon arrival and surprise I got voucher for free oyster shooter for checking in. Showed to the server was told they don't do that..hmmm. Once she took our orders that was the last time we saw her. No one came around to ask or attend to us. Finally we flagged another server and that's how my friend was able to order her second drink. I decide for kicks to show my yelp voucher to this server and she said ok one or two.. whaaaaat. So we received 2. Mind you it said oyster shooter to me that's with the vodka in the shot glass. Nope we received 2 regular. But hey free is free. All in all multiple hiccups but as my friend are easy going we took in stride and had an great time reconnecting. Side note: we watched a bus boy cleaning table after patrons left he sprayed and wiped sprayed and wiped for like a good 3 minutes. We were like is he ever going to stop.. lol Will return to try dinner. Of course this is a seated dine so We received our seated dollars for dining. Download seated referral code Michelle1454.

Kelsey A.

Yelp
Overall, meh! Wasn't bad, but definitely was great. The ambiance was the most memorable. So I might suggest coming here for a drink and appetizer to take in the scenery.

Ayesha M.

Yelp
When we walked in, we were seated immediately. I think because we came before the rush. I would suggest having a reservation. I wanted to order the chicken and waffles. However, after waiting about 20 minutes, I was told that they were out of chicken and waffles. This to me is an oversight on the business because it was still super early and to run out of that item before 3 o'clock as a little bit crazy. I really didn't want anything else on the menu so I opted for the mac & cheese. The mac & cheese wasn't good for me. It was cheesy on top, but lacked cheese inside of the main dish. My friend ordered the truffle flatbread. That was pretty good but could have been served a bit warmer. If you're going for the brunch, I would suggest ordering two drinks at a time because it takes a little bit for the waiters to circle back to us. Our server Helena was really good. She really did try to make our experience a little bit better. Being that they didn't have any chicken and waffles I asked if I could substitute the steak and eggs. The answer to that was no and I would have to pay an extra $20 if I wanted that entrée. I politely declined, however, had I been running that establishment and ran out of a dish I would've tried to make the customer happy by fulfilling that request but that's just me.‍ Last, but not least on this particular day, they had a group of about 2 to 3 children running around inside of the establishment. At one point there was even a kid on a scooter scooting by the bar area. Very unprofessional in my opinion. This is not the place for children to be playing around when you have customers. (See pics) The place is beautiful inside a lot of different decorations, which makes it unique, but it won't be enough for me to want to make a repeat visit.

Fleance F.

Yelp
Wow, 10 out of 10 for decor. I loved the nautical murals, moss wall, mermaids, and comfortable seats. There are different seating areas in the restaurant. There is one area which looks like cruise ship seating. We were seated at the cove, which is beautiful, in my opinion. I kept waiting for Ariel and Sebastian to swim across the walls. I went with my sister and we did the bottomless brunch deal. So we ordered the white sangria and the waitress brought out sangria that was red. We drank it and it was great but not what we ordered. I am not a huge seafood fan, so got a burger which was pretty good. My sister ordered something with seafood and liked her meal. Toward the end of the meal the sangria was finished, so I asked for 1 glass of white sangria but our waitress said they only could do a pitcher. We said ok bring out a pitcher. I mean since it's bottomless. She came back with a pitcher of red sangria again. Don't get me wrong the red sangria was good, but you can see where the star was lost. It was a busy weekend day so I understand. We would come back probably after watching the new little mermaid with our kids on a less busy day during the week.

Yelp
Lamia has been on my list of spots to try for years, randomly walked pasted it this week and decided to finally give it a try for dinner (per IG they have an awesome brunch). We were seated right away and the ambiance is beautiful! Once of the prettiest restaurants I've been to. Started with a spicy margarita and the ceviche, the waitress said it was a mixed seafood ceviche but it only had shrimp. When you check in on Yelp you get free oysters! For dinner my date and I shared the lobster pasta which was a good size, very light and tasty. Full lobster served with a white wine sauce, the noodle was very thick, similar to a udon. Can't wait to go back and try their brunch.

Johnny G.

Yelp
The staff is amazing and the ambiance is great. I dont want to take away from them. They have a pretty good happy hour menu and price. The food was just okay. I had the whole branzino and it was underwhelming. Off happy hour menu is pretty pricey.

Stacey R.

Yelp
Where do I start?! This has been the worst brunch experience I've had in a very long time. First of all this is a seafood restaurant... I ordered the salmon bagel, and they told me they ran out of salmon? Then I asked for a lobster roll... and they told me they ran out of lobster! THIS IS A SEAFOOD RESTAURANT! We also order a dozen oysters, which were supposed to be 4 different kinds and they brought 12 of the same. My boyfriend and I were there for a bottomless brunch and they also told us they ran out of Prosecco!! This was on all on a Saturday at 1:00! If I could give zero stars, I would. AND WHEN WE SAT DOWN THE TABLE WAS DISGUSTING! I took a picture of the napkin after I wiped it down.

Briana D.

Yelp
I came here for my birthday brunch. The price of the brunch was AMAZING. Given that it was bottomless and my party enjoys to drink we got our moneys worth! The restaurant is cute inside. The food came out within a decent amount of time. We met a kind staff member who took us around the restaurant to take pictures. If you have a large party I recommend booking the private room it was so nice !

Beth M.

Yelp
I came to this restaurant because....I enjoy seafood. The brunch is absolutely amazing partially because of the drinks when they say bottomless, it really is bottomless in terms of the drinks. The fish sandwich was pretty good and so were the fries, the calamari on the other hand was not, it needed to be more crisp. Overall, I recommend this restaurant and if you can get the voucher on the app pulsed it makes it even better.

Andy J.

Yelp
This place shouldn't be called Lamias, please switch it to Dumbs.. seriously this ppl that work were are so idiots .. I ordered lamb chops..45 minutes later the waiter came to me and said we don't have it the chef forgot to tell me.. then I ordered something else so I got my meal 1.5 hours later.. also how I. The world I mean how they can hire ppl like them.. the bartender told me he doesn't know about the food menu.. the waitress told me hold on a second and then she totally forgot I ordered food hahahaha this is funny she came later and ask if I want to order something hahahahaha and then she went back to her phone.. seriously owners take care of your business.

Jackie H.

Yelp
We loved the ambiance and food here! The seafood is amazing. We recommend the tuna tartare (yummy and came with yummmy crunchy chips), crab cakes (full of crab), and salmon. But special shoutout to the squid ink linguini (it had chunks of tasty crab meat in it). The decor is dark with bluish lighting and marine decor. Loved it so much! Definitely come here. Docking down a star because cocktails were very average.

Lynn O.

Yelp
I am a strict vegan but I really enjoyed my meal here the first time I came here with friends..... beautiful place and my non vegan friends really loved their meals. I, too, enjoyed myself the first time I was here. I returned last week with two friends and although they loved their meals (lobster, fish tacos and tuna tartare), my dish was disappointing. The cauliflower side dish was delicious but the chef's selection of oysters was TINY (yes, this vegan does eat oysters, which is another whole discussion for another time). The oysters were minuscule and I mentioned it to 2 different people who checked on our meal. I am not usually a complainer but I was disappointed that they didn't offer me an additional few oysters or do something else for me. I left there very hungry. Oh, drinks were excellent, by the way.

Eileen K.

Yelp
This restaurant is absolutely beautiful & the service is absolutely amazing and very ON POINT which is a huge + in my book! We started off with the sangria, which was pretty good, and then I tried the dont skip a beet, which had an interesting unique taste so I'm not sure if it's for everyone (I love beet juice so I was fine with it). I would say the cocktails lacked alcohol.. i had 3 and was surprised I didn't feel any buzz at all. We ordered the hamachi and oysters to start. The oysters were SO good and the hamachi was delicious too! We then ordered the squid ink pasta with crab and enjoyed it very much. Afterwards we got the dorado with couscous, and I found the fish to be quite well paired with the couscous! To end, we ordered the tres leches, but I found it to be a bit underwhelming. It was pretty hard, but who knows, maybe it was an off day for dessert. Other than that, before we left, I went to take a video of one of the rooms, and one of their staff members, Sammy offered to take a picture of us. He ended up doing an entire photoshoot with us! He was super friendly and amazing and just added to our wonderful dining experience. Overall, the pricing here is actually great for food! Would love to come back another day to try the other menu items!

Yelp
Really disappointed with my experience at Lamia's Fish Market. Had friends come in from out of town, and was excited to show them a good NYC experience. This was the wrong place to go. Two different servers came to the table, unaware that the other was taking care of us. Ordered wine for the table but they didn't bring enough glasses for everyone. The wine itself was subpar. Ordered food for the table and it tasted okay only, but they didn't provide the correct cutlery. Overall, disappointing meal & disappointing service. The restaurant was also largely empty so there's no excuse that they were stretched thin. In a city where the base standard of quality & service is great, Lamia proved to be different. Would not recommend.

Lena S.

Yelp
I was disappointed this time with few things. First the portions got smaller comparing with previous times, one of our dish was over salted, but they were great and prepared another same one. So the service was impeccable as always. We ordered the most expensive pasta with lobster, actually 2 orders for 2 people. And got so disappointed in it so much- all we tasted were tomatoes , which were in abundance in the dish. And the worst part was the following - the sinks downstairs are outside of the restrooms. So A lady comes out of the restroom and goes straight to the door where it says " EMPLOYEE ONLY"!!! OMG What is it????? THEY STILL HAVENT LEARNED TO WASH THEIT HANDS??? In places dealing with food especially!!!! That's a big turn off for me. I don't think I would come back again. Unfortunately it is still a common practice for people to be unhygienic, and this is unforgivable in food industry. But in such a reputable place , you got to be diligent in hygiene for sure. So I hope the management would take this into consideration. This is a big issue .

Chanae I.

Yelp
So my friend brought me here, because I needed a cool place for my foodie instagram page. This was def the right place. From the outside you wouldn't think it's much, but once you enter, it's a vibe! The decor is like an underwater experience, and it's beautiful! The bar is designed like a submarine and the seating area gives you an underwater cave feel. Absolutely stunning! Definitely a date night spot! The seafood is fresh! They literally had a seafood bar with live lobsters. The food was good, I only had two apps and a drink but they were yummy! The host and rest of the staff were verrry friendly. They gave me a mini tour and told me to take as many photos as I like. I'm definitely coming back for a entire dinner. Note: Foodies make sure you check in on yelp for a nice surprise:)

Yelp
The only thing saving this review is that the food was really good (which is probably the most important aspect of a restaurant review anyway). We had reservations around 6 pm on rainy Friday evening. Service was absolutely terrible. Our waiter would disappear for such long periods of time and when our drinks were empt and we wanted to get more, he was nowhere to be found. Our food took FOREVER to come to the point that we were ready to go somewhere else. At one point, my friend accidentally spilled his drink and when we finally flagged down our waiter he basically just shrugged and handed us a couple paper towels to clean it up ourselves whereas most restaurants would help you clean and get you a new drink as well. The oysters and crudo were fresh and the squid ink linguine was a favorite. I'm not rushing to come back any time soon but I'll give them that the food is good.

Yelp
This place has to be one of the prettiest interiors I've seen! Went with my friend on a Sunday evening, and the place was not crowded at all! We got seated right away towards the back with beautifully detailed mermaid statue on the wall. The staff was also very friendly, and accommodating. Food --------------------------------------------------------- Salmon: 5/5 Potatoes, salmon and mushrooms were cooked perfectly! The favor had a nice smoky but also tangy ness to it. Would recommend this for any salmon lover! Sea bass: 5/5 Cooked perfectly, the meat just slid off the skin! Tasted very fresh, and the lemon went perfectly with the fish! I wish it did come with a side, other than the fish, but it was actually very filling. The only thing I would watch out for are the bones Reservations ---------------------------------------------------------- Open Table Google Maps (open table) Deals ---------------------------------------------------------- Check out the $39 for 2 on the app "PULSD"

Yelp
What a great spot! The decor is super fun and interesting and the lovely employees all added to the atmosphere. We tried a half kilo of mussels and of clams. They were both a generous portion served with white wine sauce and bread. We enjoyed each a lot. We then tried the free oysters that you get for posting on social media! What a fun idea. For our main course, we got lobster. They came on beautiful platters and were huge portions of sides. We liked the lobster a lot but they were cooked differently then we were used to. They had almost a charred flavor and also came with two different kinds of butter. Lastly, we got the brownie sundae. They even brought out a sparkler to help us celebrate. All in all, loved this spot and can't wait to try some more of their menu!

Yelp
Lamia's never makes the lists of NYC's most beautiful restaurants, and that's a good thing. Granted, beauty is in the eye of the beholder--and some would call Lamia's nautical-themed bonanza too kitschy to be beautiful. But I love it. In the age of Instagram/TikTok, this is the kind of self-marketing that pays for itself. And decor-wise, they really leaned in. Not a single surface was left un-nauticalized, from the seashell-shaped sinks, to the turquoise walls textured to resemble ocean waves. Every room has a different aesthetic, and they're all photogenic. In short, this place is stunning, and your date will love it. The food doesn't deliver quite as well, but if you know what to get, you're golden. Try the Squid Ink Linguine with Baby Crab Meat for seafood pasta glory. Skip the Hamachi Nobu, which was oversalted, and get the Tuna Tartare instead ($1 cheaper and much bigger portion). For drinks, definitely get the creamy, frothy, delicious Beachfront Views, but skip the pineapple margarita. And for dessert, the Chocolate Creme Brulee and Chocolate Brownie a la Mode (2 desserts in one) is solid, but the Tres Leches cake is better. There were definitely service/pacing issues, so our meal took longer than it should have, but everything eventually got where it needed to go. And Ike the manager (from Bayside, Queens, hollah!) is just the friendliest guy who makes you feel welcome from the moment you arrive.

Yelp
Lamia's Fish Market is a great place to try if you don't mind paying more for a nice ambiance! The inside of the restaurant is its biggest selling point; I felt like we were in Atlantis, dining on plush velvet couches inside a vast undersea cave. They are able to accommodate large groups with attentive service -- I managed to snag a reservation for 8 on the day of! -- and I saw they even brought out sparklers for someone else's birthday. They had their menus on tablets with pictures of each dish, which was helpful but also misleading. For example, I got the Squid Ink Linguini with Baby Octopus which showed a picture of the pasta with a whole baby octopus on top. The dish I actually received had slices of the tentacles instead. While the dish had tender octopus pieces and was even topped with a spoonful of caviar, I found it not very flavorful. Overall, Lamia's is a fun spot to go with friends for the vibes rather than the value, but I'd recommend you go at least once to see what it's like.

Yelp
The decor is really something else. Colors and murals. Good for the gram. Foodwise, overall I thought everything was done well enough. A minor complaint was that the branzino needed a bit of salt (capers were present but insufficient) and that's coming from someone who eats rather bland normally. But, I think the theme here is they seem go lighter to let the seafood flavors through. The linguini with clams was distinctly less buttery than other seafood spots, which can be good or bad depending on personal tastes. Staff is engaged and friendly, and our server had helpful suggestions across drinks and food. Layout is a bit confusing at first but there was always someone available to assist. There are additional restrooms downstairs, with sinks that are operated by foot pedals. A staffer had to point that out to two confused strangers trying to twist knobs. It's actually nice that you can go hands free though it's unclear to a newbie. When it comes to price, the entrees and sides are fair but the small plates seemed a bit pricier. All in, it's an interesting space with good food. There's a good time here but somehow for me it ended up being less than the sum of its parts.

Yelp
Great atmosphere for any occasion. Pretty big space. They have a bar in the front, a raw seafood bar in the back, booth seatings area, more seatings in the back and a bottom level seating area. On the other end of the lower level opposite the bathrooms is a small private area, great for parties. They have a beautiful looking small wine cellar on the lower level also. We were going to try the 3-course restaurant week menu, but they didn't have it on weekends. They do have the brunch menu though. We had oysters to start and drinks. The oysters were 3 different kinds, but they don't tell you which is which. All were pretty tasty. If I could choose, I would choose the meatier ones though. They also didn't have any raw clams that day. For the entrée, I had the branzino. It was delicious. It was filleted, but still had quite a few bits of bones, so have to be very careful when eating it. My friend had the seafood shakshuka from the brunch menu. It was just ok. Most of the seafood was calamari and it was chewy. 1 shrimp. Couldn't tell which was octopus. 1 poached egg. Wouldn't get this dish again. I would try something else instead.

Yelp
Good think they're permanently closed because this establishment has no respect for their customers and is fully the worst restaurant in nyc. They have no grace or decorum. They are rude and neglectful. If the owners ever open another restaurant- be warned. Do not go. They are vile people. The food is mediocre and the vibes are bad.

Yelp
This place should be TikTok famous, if it isn't already. The different dining rooms are all so beautiful and unique! Definitely a dreamy, under-the-sea vibe here. My friend and I had a great time together at dinner! Our server was sweet and attentive and the food was awesome. Their cocktails are sake based, which I thought was pretty cool. Their play on a mojito is delish. All of the seafood tasted fresh, too. Though, the lobster that came with the tower could have been better. The ceviche was a highlight of the meal and I'd definitely recommend trying it! While we were there, we saw a couple of birthdays be celebrated by staff and trust me when I say they go all out. They break out the stereo, bubble machine, and firecrackers while wishing you a happy birthday. Not gonna lie, I wanted to tell them it was my birthday too. Overall, a really cool place that I'm glad we stopped by. This is the perfect date night spot or place to celebrate a birthday!

Yelp
What a disaster: Gorgeous place. After deciding on lunch selections, server came over and asked me for drinks. I asked for a glass of the white bordeaux (there was only one). "Bottomless?" "No, one glass of the white bordeaux, please". Again, "Bottomless?" "No, one glass of the white bordeaux, please". She then asked where it was on the menu; I showed her; she abruptly left in a frenzy, saying nothing. I saw her rushing around the bar pacing quizzically - then she just didn't come back. 10, 15m... she seriously just paced frenetically back and forth. She hadn't even taken the rest of my order or the rest of the table's order, and didn't even say a single thing upon leaving abruptly. We got up to leave after 15m. They looked surprised. We are pretty appalled/flabbergasted. Pretty weird, and terribly awful service. All that was needed was either an acknowledgement or explanation- she just upped and left with no answers and left us hanging.

Yelp
Our family had a wonderful dinner tonight. The manager was so lovely to make sure that a was great. She even opened the door to let in the fresh cool air when I told her it was warm inside. We appreciated it very much. The service was great and the food was delicious! Thank you

Yelp
I'm a huge fan of seafood but not a huge fan of pasta so take that into account. I got a pasta dish only cause I thought this would be the day I turn into a pasta lover. Honestly, it was a solid 6/10 for someone who dislikes pasta. However, the fried calamari is soooo good. Flatbread was nice as well. The service however was the highlight of the night. There was someone named Sami and he was super sweet. It was my friend's bday we were celebrating and he turned lights above us on so we could take pictures easily and he even took the bday girl to the pretty area in the back for a photo shoot he did lol. He was really kind and always seemed to be willing to help. The waitress that brought us food was also very kind in finding a way to help when someone disliked their food. The restaurant itself is cozy but classy and definitely a fun experience.

Yelp
Overall rating: 4.5 I saw most of the low-star reviews and it looks like it's from the food. I went for drinks with a date & only had oysters. I went around 6 and there were barely any people which felt odd but okay. The decor is beautiful & the oysters were amazing. Will have to go again to judge the food & overall good experience.

Yelp
I came here with high hopes cuz i love my bff and her food choices. However. If I could think of a restaurant that screamed average, I see why most people come here : the DÉCOR. Thats it. Basic girls be hyping stuff like this up. Its mostly worth it for getting drunk. However the drinks were just okay. We got the sangria and mimosas and they tasted super watered down. I had the sea food shakshuka and it was super watery and not that flavorful, though there was a decent amount of seafood (more than i expected). My bff really liked her lobster roll but i thought it was way too small to be worth it... but the fries are good LOL. I wouldn't come back personally, wasnt worth the price cuz im broke it here LMFAOOOO

Yelp
Let me start by saying the BRUNCH French Toast is amazing!!! This was the highlight of my experience. I visited this restaurant a few weeks ago with friends from out of town. Definitely has a raw bar vibe as there is one in the center of the restaurant. The decor was fun but almost felt like a cave or a tunnel in the "mermaid" area. Fortunately they re-seated us in the upper portion of the restaurant away from all of the loud music and other customers. I was completely dissatisfied with the service. Our first waiter was absolutely useless. He did not speak English, did not take our orders and never returned to our table. We tried ordering our drinks, however, after waiting 20 minutes, I decided to walk to the bar to inquire. As a result, they made the drinks at that time and sent them with another waiter. My espresso martini tasted like watery coffee and was a light amber color. I thought that was strange as espresso martinis are usually a very dark brown. The second waiter took our orders, however we waited almost 40 minutes before the food was actually served. He returned once to the table to apologize, however, there really was no reason why the food was late. My friends ordered the French toast and an omelette. I ordered the Vegetarian Sandwich. Again, the French toast was AMAZING!!!! Omelette was good and the veggie sandwich was below average. It was mushrooms, a huge and very thick slice of tomato and a wilted piece of lettuce. No flavor boosters like cheese or onions, just plain and tasteless. A bit disappointing since it was my first meal of the day. Bathroom by the bar was the closest to our table and a complete HORROR SHOW. It smelled like the walls and floor were painted with URINE. Not the most pleasant smell to endure while eating. Toilet paper was everywhere. An unsanitary experience for all who dared to enter. Obviously it needed to be cleaned, however, it was not a priority. All in all, I will not return to nor recommend this establishment. 1/10
