The crispy calamari was an excellent appetizer ($15 plus tax). Land is one of a few places that offer a lunch special ($13.50) on weekends. I had the Land salad and the fried rice with tofu. Both were decent, though I did find the general flavor profile (the dressing for the salad, the actual fried rice itself, and the dipping sauce for the calamari) to be on the sweet side.

This place is so delicious, my boyfriend and I got the special of the day, grilled whole market fish wrapped in banana leaves. We also got the chicken lettuce wrap, spring rolls, pork belly buns, and mango sticky rice. The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is nice and cozy.

The place is small but cute. Was a bit cold. The food we ordered was yummy, specially the ginger shrimp wok. The service was friendly.

We all enjoyed our Friday night takeout dinner from land Thai kitchen. It was as good as expected. We ordered chicken pad Thai, beef pad Thai, flat noodle with chicken, and beef fried rice. We got to choose the spiciness, and it was pretty good. After ordering to-go many times, I learnt that my favorite dishes are shrimps pad thai, beef drunken noodle mild spicy, massaman chicken mild spicy, beef pad see ew noodle, and mixed appetizers.

Came across this place while walking around the UWS, and was very happy to find it. They have a $13.50 lunch special on weekends, which includes a yummy app and a choice of a main dish. Crowd pleaser amongst our group.

Super cheap & delicious food. A bit too sweet for my taste but the ingredients are fresh and presentation is nice. It’s a very small restaurant so don’t expect to have personal space. Waitresses are nice, and will help you get in & out of your table. Great spot for a quick bite or cheap meal.

Did Land Thai get a new chef?! My pad see ew was probably the worst I have ever had. It was mushy, the tofu was boiled, the noodles were soggy, there was no egg, and it had a bizarre taste. I’ve been ordering from them for years. I don’t think I can go back.

A Delicious Thai Escape on Amsterdam Land Thai on the Upper West Side is an absolute delight, offering bold flavors and a relaxed, welcoming vibe. The pad thai was a standout--warm, savory, and just the right balance of sweet and nutty, with tender noodles and perfectly cooked chicken. If you dined here and just ordered those two dishes, I think you would enjoy your dinner. The Larb Duck and Steamed Dumplings were mediocre, I would not order those again. The Wok Cashew Nut was unappetizing, only to be surpassed by the Salmon Fried Rice which was terrible. Would I return here? I doubt it, but if I did, I'd only order Chicken Curry Puffs and the Pad See Ew!

It's decent the pad Thai is basic but solid . Nothing special and psychologically it makes you feel you ate sloppy not fast food sloppy but like just sloppy . The point I'm trying to make is that it's similar to your cheaper option of going through your regular Chinese food spot . It might change though . I'll try a couple of more dishes . If it feels like your regular Chinese spot then I'd rather just go there .

The place was pretty nice; I'd recommend for a date spot (most of the patrons in the restaurant were couples). While the food is fairly priced, it's not exactly cheap. Most dishes were around $17-20 without tip and tax. Tables are plentiful (about a dozen tables for 2 people including outdoor dining). My go-to for Thai restaurants is pad see ew, and while Land's is quite good, I'll say it's on the sweeter side. I personally like sweet-savory, and prefer pad see ew like that, but just be aware that it tastes like they added an extra spoonful of brown sugar to that dish. It also has a bit of a sauce to it, and the noodles were thin, round ones, which I'm not used to. The drunken chicken noodles were tasty. I think "medium" spice is perfect for this dish (you can adjust your spice level). Definitely try the Thai iced tea. Yes, I'm basic. But it's not over saturated or overly sweet, nor does it taste like water. Overall, I'd go back, although I do wish it was a bit less expensive.

This Thai food won't change your life, but it's good enough, and sometimes that's honestly all you need. ESPECIALLY when they're one of the rare places that have weekend lunch specials. For $13.50 you get an appetizer and an entree. THIRTEEN FIFTY. It's unheard of. I ordered the spring rolls and the chicken pad see ew for my courses. I loved the crispiness of the spring rolls as well as the fact that it came with TWO in the order. But my spring roll preference is when the filling is chopped small so that I can't really tell what's in there, while I found this filling to be made of huge chunks of carrots and cabbage. Nothing wrong, just a preference thing. Upon first look, I thought my pad see ew was a bit lacking in terms of size, but it's a lunch special. Truly cannot really complain. I thought the flavors were decent enough. The first few bites I thought veered slightly on the underseasoned side, but I think much of the sauce sunk to the bottom of the plate, so the last few bites were better. You get what you pay for, and I truly cannot complain about the food I got for $13.50. I also got a Thai iced tea, which came in this vase-like cup. It was slightly watery, but you get so much Thai iced tea in comparison to other places I think. I really felt like I just kept sipping at it and there seemed to be an endless supply of tea. I loved it. The interior of the space is really nice, though. It's well lit and well decorated, and it would be a great place to eat with a group of friends!

Land's food was delicious and the staff was so kind! We would definitely eat here again. I ordered drunken noodles with chicken (medium spice).

Drunken noodles with chicken was just sad. Not much taste. Almost as if it had been frozen and was thawed quickly in a microwave. Mushy noodles. I've been here in years past and Land was great. Just sad.

Displays really surprised me! Their khao soi and crispy duck were EXTREMELY GOOD. Even having been to Thailand, I would say it's comparable or even better! The flavors were there, the crispy duck was super super crispy and tender in the middle and the noodles were just the right amount of spicy. The portion sizes are fair and they're clean and quick!! LOVED IT and my expectations were really blown away bc I wasn't expecting much. Only thing was that the Service could have been a little more attentive. Overall- It's a gem!

Nobody there .. kinda weird?? But staff was great .. so friendly. Food .. eh. Basic. Asked for extra spicy and it was bland . Nothing special ... so many choices in city .. unless it's convenient.. stay away..

Land had good service and good food at reasonable prices for the upper west side. I got the pad Thai with shrimp and a side of crab omelette. The pad Thai was basic with only a few pieces of shrimp but the sauce was excellent. I could have added more protein for an extra $3-$4 but opted not to. I think they use actual tamarind in the sauce as opposed to colored weird substitutes. The crab omelette was also delicious and fried to crispy perfection. I would go back again next time I'm nearby.

Food delivered was barely eatable. Four people decided to go mostly hungry rather than eat their fill of what was ordered. Worst was a "crispy market fish." The spring rolls were greasy. Forget the fried tofu. The packaging, however, was fine.

Land was a very nice Thai restaurant to serve as the backdrop for a date night with my husband. The service was great and my food was to die for. It was a small restaurant that seemed very trendy, great for any Instagram girlie. I'd highly recommend!

Small portions. Dishes were fine but not delicious. The squid was as hard as rubber tire. Service was friendly. Tip starts at 20%. I guess I haven't been eating out much lately.

Average to good pad Thai, I subbed chicken for shrimp. My friend got the ginger garlic chicken and liked it. We got the mango sticky rice and it was decent, nothing unusual but the mango was ripe. They were busy on a Saturday around 7 so we sat outside, which was chilly in early April, but they didn't rush us. They were pretty attentive given that we weee the only people outside.

Small no frills Thai spot with a great lunch deal, including weekends. Service was fast (maybe a bit too fast - our main course arrived before we could finish the appetizer), and food tasted authentic. Would recommend.

Randomly stopped into this place for lunch before heading to the American Natural History Museum and both the food and service were good. I had the drunken noodles and although they were a little bland they had a nice spice to them. They had really nice portions and I left full with leftovers to take home. The stand out was the passion fruit tea! I would stop here again if I was ever in the area.

They have the very rare weekend lunch specials! Really affordable and food was delicious!

Came by for dinner. Service was fair, ambiance date night and food overall was good when compared relatively. Most dishes we had tasted good. Nothing made me feel like I must come back. The interpretation of the curry we had was noteworthy, the sauce wasn't just coconut milk doused protein with mixed veggies. For the price offered, there certainly are other options. FYI not the best place to dine in for groups larger than 4.

Land is a nice neighborhood restaurant on the Upper West Side. Located on 82nd & Amsterdam. It's small and cozy. Tables are separated by clear plexiglass dividers and there is outdoor seating too. Service is friendly and the food is very good. Prices are reasonable too. It's a great place to stop in for a quick bite. Everything is fresh and made to order. Shrimp Lemongrass soup was very good. I asked for it medium spicy and it had some heat. Wok Charred Squid was cooked nicely. The squid was tender and it was cooked in a chili garlic thai basil sauce. Packed with lots of flavor. Medium Spicy was perfect and I like my food spicy, so be careful when ordering. I hear they have a good lunch special too. 2 courses for $12.50. Overall this is definitely is a great spot for casual Thai food. I highly recommend it if you're looking for authentic Thai cuisine in a casual relaxed setting

This was a good quality restaurant in UWS. I had green curry with tofu, which had nice herbaceous flavors.

I came here for lunch and saw some people dining outside since the weather was nice, but I felt like sitting inside since it was a bit chilly. I was seated right away, and I liked how they had plastic dividers between each table inside. They have a lunch pre fixe menu that gives you two courses for only $12.50. Such a great deal for the amount of food and service. Food: For my first course, I got the crispy calamari. This wasn't anything special, but regardless, it was tasty and satisfying. The calamari arrived slightly cold, which would've been nice to have it served warm. The outside was nice and crispy and they paired it with a sweet chili peanut sauce. For my second course, I got the green curry. I saw in other reviews that even though the green curry was considered really spicy, it wasn't that spicy at all. I would agree with all of those reviews, but it was nice since I wasn't in the mood for anything too hot. There was a generous amount of chicken in the curry, and I liked the additions of the bamboo and eggplant. The curry sauce was delicious and I finished the entire thing. By the end of my meal, I was really full, so I felt like everything came in a good portion, despite some other reviews saying the portions were small. Service: There was only one other table that was dining inside, so the service was really quick. My water cup was being refilled consistently, they took my order in a timely manner, my food came out quickly, and they gave me the bill right around the time I finished my meal.

I ordered a $100.00 meal. The order never showed. Land was completely cavalier and rude. I would not recommend them. Their attitude was terrible.

We did not feeling like cooking tonight so on our way home we placed a take away order from Land. By the time we arrived, maybe 10 minutes and we told the server we had placed an order, she went in to check. She came back out 5 minutes later with our order. We ordered the green curry medium spice and extra veggies. It had good flavor, with the perfect amount of spice. We also got a chicken pad thai, also really good flavor. Both portions were generous and filling. Thanks Land for making dinner so we didn't have to.

The food was just ok because I've had much better tasting Thai food elsewhere, but I came here with family and we found a small and hard piece of clear plastic in the fried rice. A waitress noticed our disgust immediately and helped us get rid of the plastic so I didn't have time to take a photo of it. They offered to provide a second serving of fried rice, which I think was appropriate to offer. The interior space is also generally narrow and more intimate, so not for big groups. Eat here with caution!

Bro!!!! Weekend lunch 2-course prix fixe menu for only $12!!!!! Yeah you heard that right!!!!! - Papaya salad: idk if I'd go for this again, but twas refreshing and a palate cleanser. smol portions - Calamari: yummy but tiny - Crispy spring roll: yummy but tiny - Green curry: yummy, decent-sized, but barely spicy even though it was marked at 3 chili signs, which was moderately disappointing

There Prix Fixe lunch menu for the win! 1 appetizer and 1 entree for 14 dollars. Service is fast and friendly. Love the variety of music that plays in the background. It's a small restaurant with amazing food.

I was seated at 3:15pm on a Friday afternoon and was told to order within 5 minutes if I wanted to order from the lunch prix fixe menu (sign says lunch is available every friday to synday, from 12:00pm - 3:30pm). I felt rushed and had to motion for the waitress several times. There was only one server and one hostess working, and the restaurant was fairly busy so the service felt understandably slow. I stopped by because the lunch special (2 dishes for $12.50) sounded like a great deal, but the portions were small. We ordered calamari (came with 6 small pieces) and the dumplings (2 pieces). For entrees we ordered the shrimp pad thai & the drunken noodles. We were still hungry so we also ordered the chicken curry puffs. Everything was a bit stale. I would recommend the curry puffs as they were the most flavorful menu item out of everything we ordered, but overall probably would not come back again.

We stopped by this place as SENN (other Thai restaurant next to this one was closed ") What a mistake ! Very disappointing. We ate outside on a sticky table. Glasses of water without ice I got a vegetarian wok with tofu : really tasteless and basic, and small portion. Andrew got a pad sew with tofu : tasteless too. Did not even finish it. The drink pomegranate lemon sparkling was delish though. And it's expensive for what it is. The staff is barely pleasant. Once try. Not twice. Go to SENN which is next to them - really better in everything.

Giving Land three stars only because I've had good meals here in the past. Tonight we ordered Pad Thai and Pad Se Yew to go. As we arrived at home and ate less than an hour later the Pad Thai had formed a dense dry cake. No flavor at ALL and I had to eat the "cake" with a fork& knife. Five tiny and equally flavorless shrimp is all got and I am so so disappointed. Left a good tip and now I want my $45 back. Won't be returning.

Food was fine. One star for the service. The hostess was not friendly-as though she was being bothered when I asked if my food was ready. The Grubhub app said the food was ready for pickup however I had to wait additional 15mins for the hostess to give me my food. As though she was doing me a favor by giving me the food I paid for.

To be fair, I haven't been INSIDE this restaurant in years. I always get delivery (don't judge). The food is SO good. I crave many things, especially the ginger/garlic sauce. Go. Order. Be adventurous. Get things you don't normally get, or know how to pronounce. Don't get the same boring things. You won't be sorry. Try the wok dishes. Try the crab fried rice or omelette. If they have mango or pumpkin sticky rice dessert, don't miss that.

Maybe other items on the menu are good, but I did not enjoy the drunken noodles I got at all. It was definitely lacking flavor compared to other Thai places in the city. Service was quick, and the inside was cute.

Small Thai spot with a great lunch special that includes 1 app & 1 entree I came with my friend and we both got the lunch special. I got that calamari for my app & a noodle dish for my entree. Neither were anything special, and my entree really lacked flavor 5

I've passed by this spot a number of times now, and was really excited to try it out. I ordered the drunken noodles with shrimp. The flavor was good (not too spicy) and it has a lot more vegetables and shrimp than noodles compared to most places. I was disappointed though when I opened the container that the dish only appeared half full.

Have tried a lot of Thai food but this is my favorite place by far. Great cocktails and specials menu. The calamari was perfectly crispy and pad see ew noodles is usually my go-to and I loved these.

Really fresh, really delicious dishes, portions a bit on the small side but very flavorful. My friend enjoyed the pad thai with a nice number of shrimp and my wok with basil and beef was excellent. Nice selection of wine, beer and fun cocktails, too!

Bland. I'm sure they cater to not so spicy palates but, the pad se ew barely had any flavor. The jungle curry was flavorful but lacked the punch of the chili and kafir lime is hinted at. The curry puff was ok. As was the vegetable dumpling and shrimp pocket. Perhaps it was an off night.

Pad Thai with shrimp here is pretty good. Both the steamed and fried branzino were mediocre. Thai iced tea here is ok. Beef pad see ew was really salty. Their beef/meat selection is not the best quality. Very hard to chew/ gamey taste. Curry was a miss.

So sad to be writing this - after attending lunch today (I ordered the Tom yum soup and drunken noodles from the happy hour lunch menu) I 100% got food poisoning from this restaurant. I'm not sure where it went wrong but please be careful.

I ordered the green papaya salad and pad see ew from the prime-fix lunch menu. The salad was just ok, and the pad see ew too sweet.

I would say a pretty decent Thai place but definitely not the best. Service was kind of slow to come get an order, food options were standard and nothing special. Salad with octopus was pretty good. Main dish I got some noodles that were pretty decent with a regular portion. Dessert was great! Absolutely love the dessert! Prices are also pretty reasonable for the place like that. Not a bad choice if you craving Thai food.

I ordered the Wok Basil with Chicken, Pad Thai with Shrimp, Crispy Tofu and Chicken Satay. Everything was so good. The best Pad Thai I've ever had.

Really enjoyed our impromptu meal here on our first night in the city. We ordered the mixed appetizers first, and afterwards remarked we'd return just for the chicken curry puffs. For entrees we both enjoyed the Wok Charred Squid and Green Curry with Chicken. The protein were well-cooked (quite tender) and the dishes were full of flavor. Nothing better than a warm, tasty curry at the end of a long day of travel! They also had a cocktail menu -- I recall enjoying something gingery and boozy. We were both happy campers!

Land has been one of my favorite UWS restaurants for a while-always great food, service and specials. I really like going to the restaurant but often very crowded since not a large restaurant. So, I suggest delivery or pick up to have at home or bring to a friend's place for lunch or dinner! The usual choices on the menu are always great and consistent - and the specials add a little extra something to the meal! If you like Thai food-Land is definitely a place you should try out and then will frequent!

Unfortunately, this place has gone downhill IMO. Ordered the basil beef as that has always been my go to dish. The beef was once again way over cooked, there was no flavor of basil and the dish was very small! We ordered garlic and ginger chicken as well, and that dish we both liked. It was a more reasonable portion and had a decent flavor. Overall though, we left with mixed feelings.
