Landgang

"The modern restaurant on the first floor of the Hotel Fährhaus is already a magnet for diners on account of its wonderful location. Take in the view of the Moselle as you tuck into French-Mediterranean cuisine with regional influences. There is also a vinotheque boasting very good wines." - Michelin Inspector

All in all a good stay. The location, directly on the Mosel across from the Altstadt of Koblenz, is convenient yet serene. The state rooms are extremely well appointed with comfortable beds, large and luxurious waterfall showers, state of the art televisions, and N’espresso coffee makers. Breakfast and parking are included in the price of the room as are access to the elegant infinity pool and sauna area. The only downside was the experience at the less expensive of the two on-site restaurants. The service was so slow that my husband and I waited nearly 45 minutes for just our appetizer, and he later had to awkwardly approach a random waiter to pay after ours completely forgot to give us our bill. The real issue was not that we had to wait, but that, for the price of the food on offer (35 Euros or more per dish on average), we expected much better service than we ended up getting. Instead of feeling like valued guests who paid good money for our experience, we felt like we were barely tolerated. This was in stark contrast to the people seated next to us, who were obviously wealthy and were waited on hand and foot. It was an off putting experience and we decided not to eat at either of the restaurants again (save for the complementary breakfast which is admittedly quite good).

The hotel is very luxurious! We had an amazing time in the wellness and in our room as well. We had a room with views over the Mosel River and it was simply amazing. The center of Koblenz is 20-25min away by foot. Staff was very friendly and professional. We wanted to enjoy the spa some more the day we needed to check out, but we were told this would be an extra €17,5 per person. When you pay over €1000 for 2 nights, this is just not done. This does not encourage clients to come back to your hotel. Even though €17,5 per person is not the biggest cost, it’s just the fact you still need to pay something extra on top of your stay…

We often use the hotel as a stopover and have never been disappointed. The rooms are well equipped, there is a great wellness area and excellent cuisine. And last but not least, the possibility to charge your electric vehicle (free of charge)

Great place to have refined food. Staff was friendly and welcoming, they had good knowledge about wine. Excellent non alcoholic options are available as well. The food was great and decently priced. We had a great evening here.

The hotel is modern and of very high standards. It is in a great location on the Mosel but within walking distance of the city centre and the "Deutsche Eck", the confluene of Rhein and Mosal. |The staff is very helpful and speaks English well. |The hotel facilities (e.g., gym) and the Landgang restaurant are excellent.

Wonderful boutique hotel right at the Mosel River and close to some lovely little river marinas. Super friendly check in, comfortable room (except for the “bathtub shower” :-)). Excellent restaurant and an amazing indoor pool and spa area with a “panorama sauna” overlooking the neighborhood, a great steam room. It’s a little outside of Koblenz proper, but with good weather, one can have a great hike down to the Deutsches Eck and downtown. Really enjoyable stay.

In this five week trip we stayed in 21 hotels in 21 different places, and along with the Hotel Des Indes in Den Hague and Martin’s Klooster in Leuven, this was our favorite. A modern building right on the Moselle River on the opposite bank of Koblenz. We had the Augusta Suite on the top floor with a lovely view of the Moselle from our large balcony. The suite is large and beautiful with a spacious living room, dining room, bedroom and two bathrooms, all beautifully appointed . Lying on the king size bed I spotted a trapdoor in the ceiling in front of the bed and wondered if it was a TV, and sure enough found a button, the trapdoor slowly revolved down and a large TV slid down - ingenious these Germans! There are also two huge TV’s in the living and dining rooms. We had a delicious dinner on the patio by the river and at a very reasonable price given the quality of this place. The breakfast buffet was fabulous, not just in variety but quality and our fried eggs were the absolute best we have ever had anywhere. The staff everywhere are great and so well trained. Our only regret was that we stayed just two nights as we had a reservation in another town.

Produced five events on our current tour of our make-over-event Princess for one day there. Great location and amazing staff - highly recommended for any kind of function.
