A very hot day and the place was full of people. We sat outside. I think the wait staff were not enjoying their day so had 'attitude'. I was with 'native Germans' so my poor Germanwasn't the problem. The meal was pleasant enough - the standard German way of a buffet salad bar first is included in the meal and then your main. Two of us had breaded fish. It was OK but a small portion and nothing special. The third person in our party had Schnitzel and there was so much we took a large piece home for another meal! Didn't feel comfortable enough to photograph the meal of the place - just sneaked the 2 attached.

Great accommodation, clean comfortable room and bed. The host was extremely flexible and accepted the late arrival! He provided a separate private mobile number so that we could check in at any late arrival. Delicious, homemade breakfast! I will stay here again!

I was surprised that the place was busy on Monday nights. I actually had to come back a day later. ||The food is freshly made and very nice. Local dishes come with interesting features, many of which are homemade. The wine list includes some regional specialties which are worth tasting. ||The staff is friendly and effective. Prices are reasonable.

Found this small hotel on trip advisor. All reviews were positive so we made reservations here. We were not disappointed. Rooms were charming yet very functional. Food was great. Hotel owner and wife were very accommodating. This area of Germany is charming and would not hesitate to use hotel as a base to explore.

This is a tiny eight room hotel with old-world charm and modern conveniences. The proprietors and small staff were friendly and helpful, despite our language barrier (I don't speak one word of German!). The food was high-quality, varied and expertly prepared. The restaurant was full of locals every evening, which I took to be an indication of value. The rooms were clean and comfortable with hot, powerful showers and free, multi-device internet access. You will be encouraged to try local specialties for breakfast and dinner, but you still have plenty of familiar choices too. Bring your appetite and a belt with a few extra notches!

Family guesthouse of classic character, very friendly and cordial owners, fantastic local cuisine (absolutely recommend the famous home-made eggs for breakfast). The rooms are simply furnished, but the cleanliness is fine. I can recommend a short business trip.

We invited friends to have a dinner there. A dinner course was great. I loved my Rinder Zunge, the soft tongue (just didn't think the sauce was delicious) and the dessert with mango ice and chili was fantastic. ||We came again with our family. Kids liked it and said "Can we come here again?"

I grew up in Trossingen and now live in Costa Rica. Every two years I visit and the Baeren is my favorite restaurant in the world. The food is amazing. Sitting outside next to the church is amazing and the service is always excellent. Can't wait to go back. A must for anybody in this area of Germany.
