This is, we think, the essence of what Michelin means with “BIB Gourmand”. ||Beautiful hotel/restaurant (we came only for the restaurant). ||Warm welcome and service; superbly executed traditional cuisine. ||Nice winelist, solely German, with the exception of two Spanish red’s. ||The “Grauer Burgunder” we ordered, was full bodied and accompagnied all our dishes very well.||Food tasted delicious. ||Amuse was simply bread with “schmalz”, but oh, how tasty that was. ||Partner and I always switch plates if possible, therefore we can taste more dishes. ||Entree: cracking fresh salad, with pickled pumpkin. ||Soup: never tasted a pumpkin soup so deep and powerful! ||Main course: tenderly stewed beef cheek with “spätzle”, sauteed veggies and veal stock based sauce, it blows you away. ||Vegetarian lasagna, with deep intense flavours. ||Beautiful creamy desserts. ||And it’s all organic!||Example of how well thought this family kept business is: at our table of six, 3 of us were facing the wall, but looked in a big mirror, so they could also see what went on in the restaurant. Result: everybody happy. Wish we saw this more often.||And all this for very reasonable prices. What more could you want.||Next time we pass from Karlsruhe to Stuttgart, we will certainly go again.
