"Heinz O. Wehmann is to Landhaus Scherrer (which has a spruce new exterior!) what St Michael's Church is to Hamburg! Since 1980 he has been head chef in this restaurant that was opened by Armin and Emmi Scherrer in 1976 (and awarded one, and at times even two MICHELIN stars as of 1978). For years the outstanding regional, often organically certified produce has been par for the course here. As classic as the interior – the large-format erotic painting remains the decorative focus! – are also the dishes. The Holstein venison, served with an excellent rosemary sauce, for instance, is absolutely fantastic. The wine cellar, which has grown to over 10 000 bottles, is also impressive! The service is attentive and professional, but by no means stuffy. For an alternative to gourmet cuisine, head to Wehmann's Bistro for good regional dishes." - Michelin Inspector

To be honest I was quite disappointed with it. The food was okay, some dishes were outstanding some were okay and the dessert was a massive disappointment. We had the Wehmanns menu. The main dish was Iberico and it was incredible delicious, the dessert was some poached peach covered in Zabaoine with some colored Pistachio ice cream. I think especially in a restaurant with this reputation making a ice cream with food coloring that it looks approachable for kids like smurf ice cream is just not good enough. Also the dessert generally didn’t taste good at all. Service was nothing to complain about. Always nice and with the wine recommendations they even looked that the price was okay and we ended up paying 36 per bottle of rose. We paid 977 for 5 people with menus, almost everybody made adjustments to the menu due to dietary restrictions or taste. This was one of the best service regarding this I have ever experienced.

Landhaus Scherrer isn’t just a restaurant—it’s an experience. From the moment we arrived, we knew we’d found something special. The food? Absolutely amazing. Every dish was a celebration of flavor—rich, thoughtful, and made with ingredients that tasted like they were picked straight from the mountainside. The homemade pasta was silky perfection, the meats were tender enough to melt, and every bite told a story of tradition and passion. Even the desserts? Pure artistry. I still dream about their apple strudel. The service was top-notch—not formal or stiff, but genuinely warm, attentive, and perfectly timed. Our server remembered our names, offered thoughtful wine pairings, and checked in just enough without ever intruding. It felt personal, not transactional. The location is breathtaking—serene, surrounded by nature, yet just close enough to town for convenience. Whether you’re dining on the terrace under the stars or cozying up by the fireplace, the setting adds magic to every moment. And the staff? Simply wonderful. Friendly, professional, and full of joy. They didn’t just serve us—they made us feel like honored guests in their home. I’ve dined at countless places across Europe, but Landhaus Scherrer stands out as one of the most authentic, heartfelt, and delicious experiences I’ve ever had. I’m already planning my next visit. If you’re looking for soulful food, impeccable service, and a place that makes you want to stay forever—this is it. Don’t miss it. 🏔️🍷❤️

Amazing food. Beautiful presentation. I really liked that the tables were far apart from each other, providing a feeling of privacy. Service waa outstanding, smiling, professional and attentive servers. The entree is served to the table by one of the chefs. The lobster soup waa absolutely delicious, with chunks of lobster. Entree waa the "Geschnetzeltes from Rind. The beef waa tender and tasteful with just enough mushrooms. Can't wait to eat there again.

Uber 5 stars experience! from tasting menu to a la carte, the team offers diversity of pure fine dining. Luckily, we had the extraordinary chef‘s table surprising experience. It doesn’t only mean good food but more than an entertaining evening for us. Watching them cooking with passion and put details on the plates. Laughing and sharing the wonderful evening, food and drinks with them. Landhaus Scherrer crew is absolutely fabulous. After dining, we discovered the wine collection guided by the sommelier. The evening was doubtless 5 stars. Thank you!

What a lovely night!!! Great atmosphere and delicious food. The only missing thing is that there are no vegan or vegetarian meals you have to call a few days before and let them now. Overall, great place!

We had a large group for business dinner with various dietary restrictions and food preferences. The restaurant understood our quite challenging request and had a perfect menu for us all with amazing taste. Wine list was on another level. Can trust them to pair with food. We had a great time there.

The vegan menu was a complete disappointment. It failed to bring out the flavor and texture of all the ingredients. Especially the beetroot dish was canned texture and full of sauce. I'm angry that I spent four full hours trying to eat this food. The service and taste of Alleno Paris, which I went to in July last year, was great, and it was painful to sit here today. The service of the staff was distracting and far from friendly.

Yelp
A perfect experience. Impeccable service, with perfectly executed dishes. Very special meal in a wonderful city. I hope to someday eat here again.

Yelp
What a gem this place is. I walked a solid 2 miles from the S-Bahn to get here, as it's nestled in a Hamburg neighborhood. It's not a tourist spot. It was worth the walk. Landhaus Scherrer is an interesting combination of first class and family in its decor and service. The single waiter than handled my room was a gentleman - thoughtful, professional, and capable of a laugh at the sight of a child (a family was dining that night). The greeting woman seemed quite similar - a bit serious at first, but clearly very kind if you needed help. So the atmosphere was excellent, but the food actually topped it. This is no neighborhood comfort food. After picking out an incredibly inexpensive (but good) wine for me, the waiter brought out a complementary plate of variations on a pumpkin theme - ice cream, custard, pumpkin slices, etc, all prepared differently and all wonderful. After a salad came the crusted duck dish. It was one of the best duck dishes I've ever had - full of flavor and wonderfully prepared. I also had an excellent desert, but I can't recall it any longer. In sum, Landhaus Scherrer is a real find for a visitor of Hamburg. I hope it's well-known by the locals. Regardless, all who visit or live in Hamburg should stop in.

Yelp
Definitely not my cup of tea. Thankfully I've only been once. It's actually a couple years back and it ended up being the most expensive meal I've ever paid for (seriously!) I had invited an ex and her folks out to dinner. They had taken us out many times hence it was payback time. Unfortunately they were big eater and drinkers. A multi-course meal and many bottles (expensive as all hell) later we left this place, my wallet empty. Thankfully the food is ok and definitely of higher quality. The wine selection was also good. Yet, would I go back? No! I particularly dislike the decor and places like this in general. The majority of people eating here are not my crowd. It's fineplaces like this are made for those people. And one star is added to this review for providing such a place for them. That keeps 'em away from my favorite places. If you like typical Hamburg flair, with a real feeling of lots of Hanseatic upper class around you, this is your mecca. You can't go wrong with the food as it is a well run establishment. You probably won't be going here if you can't afford it so prices won't discourage you. The location is also quite nice I have to admit. I nice old house.perfect if you live nearby on the Elbchaussee and there's parking in the back..bring your Bentley's if you got 'em! If you're young, modern, cosmopolitan or anything but Hanseatic blue-blood, you'll feel better elsewhere.
