"Lars Zwick has been running this cosy, rustic-style inn in the charming Tauber Valley for many years. The cuisine is regional and seasonal, and the excellent produce is sourced locally as far as possible. Freshly prepared sausages (made in-house) are served on Thursdays and Fridays. Some of the wines – to pair with delicious dishes such as rack of lamb in a herb crust – come from the restaurant's own vineyard. They also produce their own fruit brandies and keep bees. The old barn serves as a function room and wine tastings are held in the vaulted cellar. The pretty guestrooms exude rural charm." - Michelin Inspector

Lovely place and environment. Very good food (restaurant is only open 2 nights per week if I'm not mistaken). Nice breakfast. Rooms are old but comfy. Will stay here again when I visit the area.

Spacious beautifully renovated rooms. People are superb. The food is unmatched (Michelin rated) a little paradise at a fair price. The only drawback is that you need a car to move around

This Hotel is a real Gem! We booked over the phone on very short notice and from the first pleasant conversation upon our departure EVERYTHING was exceptional! The rooms and the Barn Restaurant with its rustic charm stand out - new amenities within a traditional building create a wonderful ambience where you feel welcomed and very comfortable. The friendliness of Owners and Staff made our short stay very enjoyable and the food is traditional and wholesome but with an interesting twist and it is simply scrumptious and the portions are generous. We traveled with a six year old and they are very child friendly and made sure everyone felt comfortable and they looked after us wonderfully. Attention to detail is very evident everywhere and it was a lovely stay overall and the cost/performance ratio is excellent and I can recommend it highly.

We booked to come to the restaurant as the reviews were excellent and the menu sounded wholesome with local, seasonal produce. I was cautious as I don't eat meat and the speciality is sausage.... we were not disappointed though. The food was excellent, asparagus was delicious and plentiful for starters and my husband had sausages with sauerkraut and potatoes which were apparently delicious, whilst I had salmon trout with rosemary potatoes and salad- cooked and seasoned to perfection. All finished with a honey creme brule and local ice cream and home made liquor. The wine was from their vineyard and we also bought some of their honey to take with us.... we will be back. Fantastic food, wonderful service and good value,

I was attending a wedding of my very good friend there, and for me it was a magical experience. I would not forget the beauty and the simplicity of this hotel. The food was delicious, especially their cheese and all the other traditional Bavarian dishes they did was amazing. They have their own garden behind the hotel and the vegetables are so clean and I am sure that is the best in Bavaria. I really liked their wedding hall with a traditional touch. Especially I must mention their service was superb and one of the best that I have experienced. We stayed their one night and the room was more than comfortable for us. Nice interior, nice bed and a washroom, we were totally blown away by the beauty and the quality of the place. We loved it very much and would not hesitate to go there if we ever make it back to Bavaria

This guesthouse was recommended to us by tourist information in a nearby village and we were lucky enough that one room was still available when we called. The room was lovely in a rustic style that curiously had an adjoining ultra-modern bathroom suite that looked like it had been installed yesterday, ||||The restaurant is obviously well known as it was full that evening but we managed to snag an outside table so that we could enjoy the summer evening. The menu was simple but the food was delicious, I had their home-made sausages and we drank their house white wine that they produce themselves (and bought a bottle to take with us).||In the morning we had a great breakfast in their dining hall that looks like it would be a fantastic place to have a party or conference dinner. The guesthouse is oddly much larger than it appears from the road, there was even a cellar area with extra seating.||||Instead of a mini-bar in each room there was a little fridge on the landing where you could leave money and pluck out a bottle of wine or some beer. We didn't buy anything but I noticed that the prices were the same as if you purchased in a shop - really good value for money. In fact the whole guest house was great value for money,||||The couple who owned the place were very friendly and helpful and I really enjoyed our stay there.

A hidden gem of great value. A charming place with comfortable clean rooms and wonderful food both for breakfast and dinner. So cozy and welcoming I cannot rate it higher. The staff were friendly and hospitable. If visiting Rothenburg ob der Tauber make this your goto place to stay, we will!
