Buchnas Landhotel Saarschleife

Brilliant place. Very clean, comfortable and relaxing. Morning spa at 7 am was absolute bliss and I could just relax well. The breakfast was one of the best I have had. Nothing too fancy but just so much good quality selection and amazing service. There is also a great sightseeing place nearby. Warmly recommend that as well. Loved the place and hope to return in the future❤️

Thank you so much for an AMAZING weekend! It was such a full and perfect minibreak, even if it is only an hour from Luxembourg. The spa area is beautiful and the breakfast were 7 stars worth, with absolutely everything imaginable on offer. So much to do in the surrounding area: The Saarschleife, great bike paths, watersports on the river apple picking in Merzig :) I will be back with my family for sure.

My wife and I stayed overnight at the end of January and were definitely not disappointed! The room (whilst smaller than anticipated) was clean and had a small balcony. The swimming pool and spa facilities were spotlessly clean and ideal for relaxation. The highlight though was the restaurant. We had a superb meal and accompanying wine in the evening and a wonderful breakfast the following morning. The staff were friendly and helpful. The view from the nearby lookout point was impressive.

We stayed here for 1 night in late August. I had tried to book on-line in advance but the hotel showed full, however the website said to contact the hotel direct. I telephoned and was delighted that they could find me a room at a very reasonable rate and could speak English. The location is lovely, and the road trip up to the hotel was very picturesque and beautiful. It is within walking distance of the fantastic Saarschleife viewpoint. We arrived on a Saturday evening and had to park on the verge by the roadside but obviously it was free and the road seemed quiet. Reception was very helpful and they spoke English, they also allowed us to keep our dinner reservation for that night to an unrestricted time – very welcome when you have just driven a long way and are not sure exactly when you want to eat. Our room was small with no air conditioning and was too hot overnight but the bed was comfortable and the shower was lovely. The wifi was free and worked adequately fast and we were given two separate pass codes so were able to use 2 devices. A self service buffet breakfast was included in the room rate which was good and kept well replenished. The staff were all lovely and very helpful and considerate given we can't speak very much German. We had dinner here and very much enjoyed it and I have reviewed this separately under Trip advisor landhotel Saarschleife Restaurant Reviews. Our reservation also included free use of the hotel's indoor swimming pool and sauna but we didn't have time to make use of them. Overall I loved the hotel and the location and would happily stay here again.

The Hotel itself was really lovely and so was the spa - the things that I did not like about the place:||1. The staff could not speak English - it was very difficult to order anything or have a decent conversation.||2. I booked a massage for 55 euros and it was the worst massage I have ever had. The lady did not speak English so it was difficult to tell her to go harder. Waste of money.||3. The room itself was clean and good. But we ordered a twin room and the beds were on top of each other - for the price we paid it was really small - and apparently that was at a discounted rate. ||4. The curtains did not draw all the way, so the sun came in, in the morning. ||The things I liked:||5. There is no kettle in the room.||The things I like||1. The spa - was incredible and amazing lovely place to relax offering you an assortment of herbal teas and apples.||2. The food was lovely, slightly pricy but lovely.||3. Breakfast was delicious and included||||I would not go back to this Hotel as was only there for a wedding.

We stayed here one night as a stopover during our trip to France. We booked the lowest room category and were given a very nice upgrade - thanks again! Restaurant is only open until 9.p.m., but after that you can have some small things like cheese or ham or fried potatoes until 10 p.m. - very tasty! Yummy mirabelle brandy. Very friendly staff. Service during breakfast was slow - coffee arrived when we had eaten already. Hotel has a lovely garden and seems to have a huge wellness area/ swimming pool - we did not use that. I could imagine that the hotel might be lovely for wellness especially in winter. Hotel faces a street, but not very loud. The viewpoint "Saarschleife Cloef" is within 10 minutes walking distance. I also think this hotel might be great for a hiking holiday - lots of opportunities, suggestions and maps at the hotel and very short distance to the forest.
