I wasn't expecting much when I booked a night's stay in this quaint and picturesque resort hamlet. What a surprise. The hotel/inn has been run by the same family for seven generations, since 1827, and the care and diligence of that legacy shows. The rooms were simple but beautifully appointed. Our double on the third floor looked out over the Lahn river and the gingerbread houses on its opposite side. Beds were warm and comfortable. Room had a minibar with chocolates and drinks (which we did not use). Great shower. Big TV. But the best treat was the included breakfast: perhaps the best I've ever had. A sumptuous spread of breads, sweet rolls, meats, cheeses, musli, yoghurt. fine teas and coffee, amazing herbed eggs cooked to order. We could have feasted all day. The hotel also offers fine dining of Michilen star quality at what I consider a reasonable price for such preparations: approx 30 euros per person for main meal, dessert (DO NOT miss the desserts!) and water. The only negative was the lack of an elevator or ramps. If you're lugging large bags and you don't happen to have a sherpa handy, this could be a problem.
