L&L Hawaiian Barbecue

My husband waisted his money! We have been to this restaurant in multiple states including Denver and Hawaii and the food was good! In Denver and Hawaii the chicken was juicy and fresh and the shrimp are always hot and cooked perfect!.. but not This location! The food was cold and tasted like it was sitting out and recooked or reheated up. The order was done in less then 5 minutes so I know it wasn’t made fresh! This location is horrible!!! My husband wasn’t told that they were out of cocktail and tartar sauce until after the order was paid for and placed. The chicken was burnt and in crumbles and the shrimp was overcooked and hard. The rice was dry and tasted old! Tried calling to speak with a manager at least 10 times. Someone picked up the first time and immediately hung up and took the phone off the hook and now It rings busy. Sad to say you lost a long time national customer. Food was horrible! I want my money back! DON’T GO TO THIS LOCATION!!!

Good food and good service. We ordered the BBQ chicken bowl, BBQ Kalbi short ribs plate and lumpia. Every meal was good but nothing super spectacular. Lumpia was thin but not enough filling. Feels like a fast food joint. The service was good since the food is delivered to the table.

Great food! We ordered 2 katsu platters, but one portion alone was enough to feed two people. The food came out quickly and was hot and fresh. The atmosphere was cozy, and the owner/staff were very kind. We would definitely come back again!

I just happened to stop by this place because I saw spam musubi being advertised in the window. Little did I know I would fall in love with this chain. We happened to go on Monday as well, where they had Musubi Mondays and it was only $1 per musubi! Usually $3 something, $1 was a steal. We got the spam musubi and katsu musubi; both were delicious despite the late hours.

So glad they open this location!!! If these are the same owners as the previous place closer to Katy Mills, this is a way better location and probably will have more of the traffic this place deserves to succeed. L&L is a great place to get some Hawaiian food that will be as close as you'll get without having to fly to the island. On the day I went it had small to medium traffic but the food came out fresh and tasty! Just as I would expect from this chain and what I remember when I was in Cali. If you're looking for some great Hawaiian food or just looking to change it up from the norm, you won't go wrong here!!! Update: (7/26/25) Still love this place, but closing time posted on Google 9pm & arrived right at 8:30 to find the place closed early. Still a strong recommendation for Hawaiian food, but I wouldn't come before closing, because they may be closed early like today. 😢👎

My husband and I tried out L&L Hawaiian for the first time and we were not disappointed!!! As soon as we came in we were greeted by Michelle from behind the counter. She was sweet and bubbly and really made us feel welcomed!! She was patient and went over the menu with us after explaining it was our first time. We ordered and sat down and waited for our food. When it came out we were shocked! The portion size of the large bowls was insane! It was so much food. I had the big bbq plate and every single meat in the bowl was flavorful, tender, and juicy. Included was rice and a macaroni salad. I’ll be honest, I’m not a big fan of macaroni salad but I decided to try it and loved it so much I ate it all before eating anymore of the meat lol. I’m not really sure how long they have been here but I’m slightly disappointed that we took so long to give it a try. It’s for sure a spot we will come back to. Check them out and I know Michelle will be there with a smile giving her amazing customer service!!

I ordered the katsu chicken with curry for takeout again today, and it was excellent. The meal included two servings of rice and one serving of macaroni salad. I requested the curry in a separate container to keep the chicken from getting soggy. The curry was thicker and more flavorful than the last time.

The food was good overall.. yet the service experience was not as it was an issue to dine inside 30-45 mins prior to close time which was 9pm Katy Tx location...I believe that put a bad taste in our mouth before the food even was served. We almost forgot to take pictures for review. Here you'll see Musubi, Lumpia's, Chicken katsu, loco moco , macaroni salad and rice.. I highly doubt we'll be revisting this location as we've had better experiences down the street at Maika's Hawaiian bbq😉
