L&L Hawaiian BBQ - Review - Bushwick - New York - The Infatuation
"Have a gaping hole in your stomach that only a Spam musubi can cure? Good news if you’re in Bushwick—national chain L&L Hawaiian BBQ has their third NYC location in North Brooklyn.
We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Will Hartman
Typical Hawaiian comfort food... In a good way! Having now tried a couple of different dishes, I will be back to try more.
Service is great, really nice staff. Tell Tori I said hi when you go in, she's the one with the warm welcoming smile!

great lil barbecue joint that’s very warm and inviting given the great energy from the staff, which is expected i suppose of hawaiian vibes. the burger was seared well with a perfectly toasted bun and the bbq sauce is tasty and not too sweet. plates are delicious too. price points are perfect !

Growing up in LA, Hawaiian BBQ was def part of my comfort food. I randomly drove by this area and was pleasantly surprised. Came back and let me tell you that the Loco Moco is slappin’ woooohoooo…. Also grabbed rhe mixed plate and it was delicious. A little on the saltier side but the white rice was the balance. I would recommend the cabbage get a little sautéed too but man I’m definitely gonna make regular visits.

We were excited to get food from there since the last time we had it was in Hawaii. We both got the Combo Mix and was missing pork in one box and basically only had chicken in the other one. Finally, there was basically no salad. Hope the place improves

Have been eating L&L for decades and was so excited to have it here in Brooklyn I had to go on day 1! Staff were friendly and space was clean. Overall satisfied but some things I hope they work on…
The bbq mix plate had the right flavor, but I was pretty disappointed with how insanely thin the chicken was and the bbq beef was also pretty dry. Plus the scraps of cabbage under the meat looked a bit sad and the mac salad was blander than I remember. The garlic shrimp was prefect and delicious and generous portion.
Would definitely go back cause I love L&L with the hope that these things improve with time.

I have not been to an L&L restaurant in nearly 20 years, so when I saw that this location opened, I was so happy to check it out. I ordered the fried shrimp plate which was absolutely delicious with a generous portion. Nice balance between rice, salad, macaroni salad and shrimp. Friendly, quick service and great comfort food.

sad to say this place isn’t worth it. it’s been a few times i’ve ordered from this location now. all being served pretty laughable serving sizes for how much the cost is. been giving it the benefit of the doubt because hawaiian food in new york is one of its kind and slim to none. however this last order was met with major disappointment. paid more than $20 for this plate that included literally 2 pieces of the most salty bbq beef ever. i swirled the plate around in hopes to find more thinking it was hidden at the bottom but that was literally it. all paired with the smallest serving of chicken katsu and maybe 3 shreds of cabbage.

Yelp
Came to the brooklyn location that just opened about 2 weeks ago since I was in the area.. Staff was amazing and the food was really good. Love my pork kalua. So flavorful and moist. The spam masubi was such a hit for my kids. My husband had the the Loco Moco and he enjoyed it very much as but said the pork kalua was really good. We also bought the spam saimin which the whole family enjoyed as well.

Yelp
Delivered through Doordash. Vegetables don't look much like the picture online, and the Kalua pork was just okay, nothing special unfortunately. I've waited a long time for an L&L to open here, so I'm willing to try it again.

Yelp
Honestly, for 18 dollars, I expected more rice/macaroni. I was disappointed with the serving size when I got home.
The chicken was good, however.
I don't think I'll be returning as there are more filling options in the area at the same price point.

Yelp
Pretty disappointed overall. I ordered from L&L Hawaiian BBQ in Bushwick via Uber Eats, thinking the portion sizes looked solid for the price. I paid roughly $30 (including delivery) for the half Katsu and half BBQ plate, expecting a decent amount of food based on the app photos.
What I got was underwhelming--about one chicken thigh's worth of katsu and a single BBQ short rib. Just one. For $30, that's a letdown...
The quality wasn't terrible, but it wasn't the best. Overall, the value just isn't there. I wouldn't recommend this spot unless they fix the issue. My suggestion would be to either be more transparent in Uber Eats about the portion sizes or ensure quality control to match what is displayed to the purchaser. Hopefully this review helps others avoid the same mistake.

Yelp
Decided to try this place out since I walked pass it. Worst mistake ever. They basically gave me a bowl of rice with some beef strips and it's suppose to come with steamed vegetable. No vegetable in my order. Terrible will never go back again

Yelp
Been a fan of L&L for and while and was happy to see one open nearby me. Been at this location a few times now, service and food has been great each time.
