Amazing 🤩🤩🤩 place We just catered an event from here We had so much food leftover everyone came back for 2nds and 3rds. We got the Italian and American 6ft heroes and 4ft veggie. I was blown away by the veggie so much flavor never had a veggieike this .plus all the side sauce's and the pickles 🥒🥒🥒🥒 Everyone ran back for more Definitely will use them again for our next event

Lost my wallet when I was visiting the city recently for a Yankees game. I thought there was no hope since I didn’t know where I had misplaced it. But the next morning I got a Instagram DM from L&M and they had told me they had my wallet and where to call to get details. They helped mail my wallet and return to me a lot of items that were valuable to me sentimentally and other important items. They also helped call my bank to turn off my card and make sure I didn’t get charges if someone tried too that wasn’t me. I cannot begin to thank them enough and I hope this review shows how amazing the people of L&M are and not just the food being the amazing part!

I ordered a lot of food, eggplant parmigiana, chicken franchise, Mac and cheese, grilled veggies for a family holiday party last Saturday. It was a pleasure dealing with L & M and the food arrived promptly/. It included all utensils and plates.

Love this place.owned by such a great family. Overall just a great environment and everything.i talked to the owner of the shop and really was inspired by his journey.And lastly the food was absolutely fantastic.I couldn't recommend enough.

What stood out most to me besides the sandwich I got there being delicious was the friendliness of the staff. Everyone there was very engaging and were generally concerned that I had a pleasant experience and that I enjoyed my food. I had a boarshead ham and Swiss sandwich with fresh squeezed orange juice, it was very reasonably priced.

Hugo is the best! He always greets me. The staff is great also..And they deliver! The breakfast is so yummy! Pancake are huge!

Their cooking methods extract flavors others can't find. The personnel were competent. Generous portions provided at fair rates. This place surpassed all expectations. I plan to return here and suggest it to my friends.

I just had the biggest Cobb salad in salad history. Lots of grilled chicken, avocado, bacon, cucumbers, onion and fresh, crunchy, Romain lettuce. And they are not stingy with the dressing. I need to warn you though, this salad is enough for two, unless you save half for lunch tomorrow like I had to do. This deli has always been a terrific value, but the size and quality of tonight's salad was beyond what I expected.

The breakfast wrap B is one of the best grab and go meals you can order in the city. I came here twice a week for a year or so - when I finally returned about two years later (due to not being in the area regularly thanks to covid) - one of the very sweet guys behind the counter was so excited to see me and asked where I had been. This is such a solid place and an absolute gem in this neighborhood. Get your breakfast sammy with a coffee and a find a park nearby - you'll feel like a real New Yorker.

L and M is an incredible New York institution. The food is always fresh and delicious, and the service is exceptional. Shout out to Marcos, Hugo, and Larry for always making me feel like a part of the neighborhood. Go get an L and M sandwich today!

Ordered the chicken rice soup - it was delicious. Not too salty or greasy. Full of flavor with hearty pieces of chicken and vegetable. I got the quart for lunch delivery and ate almost the whole thing. The delivery window was confusing - said it would take up to an hour, and then arrived 10 min later. The delivery driver didn't speak English and I wasn't at the destination before him, so we had a hard time communicating. But ultimately it all worked out!

The best deli in NYC. Excellent quality food and delivery service. They make fresh squeezed OJ every day, and their bagels are the best.

This is a great deli in Chelsea that has a wide variety of sandwiches. They're all delicious. My favorite is the standard chicken cutlet with cheese lettuce tomatoe and mayo. Good stuff

I highly recommend using L&M Delicatessen & Catering for all of your lunch and breakfast catering needs!!! We used L&M Catering to cater lunches for the bridesmaids and groomsmen suites in September in a Manhattan hotel on the day of our wedding while we were getting ready, in addition to a post wedding bagel brunch in the suite the next day. Wow, did they deliver! I'll start by saying Larry was great to communicate and plan with. He was helpful in offering his opinion on how much to order, and what kind of varieties we might need. On the day of the wedding, they showed up right on time to deliver a beautiful and delicious tray of wraps and a large salad, with generous portions of sides (coleslaw, dressings, spreads) and all of the utensils we could possibly need. L&M Catering definitely saved the bride, groom, and our wedding party from a possible hangry situation! We also asked them to come back the following day to deliver a spread of bagels, cream cheeses, fruit, and coffee for a goodbye brunch in our suite the next day. Once again the portions were incredibly generous, and the bagels were super fresh and satisfying to our out-of-town guests that wanted to try an "authentic" NY bagel. Weddings can be stressful, but Larry and L&M Delicatessen & Catering took a huge weight off of our shoulders by ensuring our parties and day after guests were fed, and that all of the food was delivered fresh, hot, and seamlessly, and right on time. I should also say their prices were much better than many other catering options we looked at in the area. You'll definitely get bang for your buck with them. If you're going back and forth about using L&M Delicatessen & Catering, just book them now!

If you're looking for a great tasting breakfast or lunch sandwich/wrap then look no further! For a small place, I was able to customize my breakfast wrap, which was loaded with ingredients and left me full! The staff was also super quick and polite!

Great for a lazy weekend. This legendary Chelsea spot is loved by so many locals for their bacon egg and cheese and coffee so I had to go. The sandwich isn't amazing, but it's standard of a bodega sandwich and still good. A lot like Square Deli up the block. The hazelnut coffee is a little watered down, but hazelnut is hard to come by to begin with.

Been going to L&M since 1977. Clearly the best chicken soup ever made! Recently I was hosting a meeting and they made a lovely bagel platter complete with balls of cream cheese (some with chive, others plain). Great service - wonderful people - we love them in Chelsea but they deliver too! I wish I had taken pictures because they do a lovely job.

Got a sandwich, salad, and fresh orange juice. All delicious. Everyone working was fast but still friendly. Close to a couple small parks with benches, so great for grabbing lunch to eat outside.

After waiting in line patiently for 10 minutes, sadly the jerk working behind the counter skipped several of us patiently waiting to service his friend so while I can't comment on the quality of the food, the service is pretty trash!

Another morning, another bagel! I finally tried out the family owned L&M Deli that is literally a 3 min walk from my place! Nice staff and quick & quality service! this review is way overdue. they are still one of the few mom and pop delis left in chelsea and have been around i believe from the early 1970's!. their food is always fresh and delicious and their prices can't be beat. Larry, Hugo and his long time staff know most of the customers by name and its really the best food around. from their breakfast specials to their incrediable assorted lunches they just cant be any better. they make really big burgers and their salads are packed to the top of the container. they make the best homemade chicken veggie soup i ever had also. i can't say enough about this special place as again everything they make is delicious and fresh and their prices are the best around. i highly recommend them.

I don't get over to Chelsea a lot, but my dentist is in the area and nothing makes me hungrier than another man scraping around my gums for an hour (that's not weird, right?). So I stopped by L&M for a sandwich. It's definitely a neighborhood joint, as nearly every other customer seems to know the staff by name. Ever indecisive, I asked one of the guys behind the counter which of the specialty sandwiches I should go for. He recommended the New School Turkey Reuben. He must know I'm trying to cut down on the red meat; I appreciate the concern for my health, guy. I also appreciate that the reuben was well-constructed, hot and tasty. Turkey is never going to be as flavorful as corned beef, but the sandwich certainly hit the spot for lunch and was probably a good deal healthier than your average reuben. At $8, it isn't the best price for a deli sandwich I've ever heard of, but it is Chelsea. Also, it comes with a pretty tasty pickle. And there's a Lucky Wang next door. So there's that.

Our favorite deli! Staff is the best. Great selection of snacks and drinks, best bagel in the 'hood- our kids ask for it by name.

My first experience at L&M my sandwich was a little sad looking which I had expressed, and Larry took care of it right away!!! Amazing customer service - they really care about their customers and the food is great - the second sandwich was delicious. I understand why they have been around for so long. Hell no, L&M. I just paid $3.20 for a bagel with cream cheese. Yes people, over 3 Washingtons for a small loaf of bread. I pass by this deli every morning on my way in. I'm feeling particularly hungry so I stop in to get a cinnamon raisin bagel with cream cheese. I get to the counter to pay, don't look at the register and just hand him a $5. Ear buds were in, I'm sure he told me price but when I look up to the price display it actually said $3.21. I thought that's what I was getting in change back so imagine my surprise when I get $1.80. For real. I get to work and its a small bagel. I'm not kidding when I say that dunkin donuts has bigger bagels than L&M. And cream cheese? Hardly any on there I look at their menu online - totally my fault for not looking at this before hand - and they actually charge you an extra .10 cents to TOAST IT. Get out of here, I am avoiding this place like the plague from now on.

For years even working in the area,I've came to this place. Got a Ruben here and it was really good! You can find old places like this no more and thank god,you still have a little here and there. Great place!

Sandwiches here are pretty quality, especially for a random bodega on 7th Ave. The prices aren't amazing, but you'll get good ingredients and you will be satisfied. I've gotten the L&M special, which is corned beef, pastrami, slaw, and dressing on on two thick slices of rye, which were toasted, and the entire sandwich was delicious. At around $9, it's not a terrible deal since you get a good portion of pastrami and corned beef. Another $9 sandwich is the Italian hero, which is huge, and with a very generous portion of Italian meats and cheeses. The oil and vinegar ratios are perfect, and you get just enough acidity to cut through the richness of the prosciutto, salami, and cheeses. In all, however, I think what really sets this place apart from the rest is the friendliness of service. I've always had a good conversation with the owner/cashiers, and everyone who works at this deli seems to really enjoy it. Coming here, you feel good about supporting a local business, even if they do tend to charge more than your normal big businesses. This isn't to say I would do my grocery shopping here, but for a good sandwich, you really can't go wrong with L&M.

Best delivery and breakfast in the area. Especially when some of the competitors get too lazy to pick up the phone for orders (Shame on you my Chelsea Bagel!!). My go-to spot for chicken soup on those sick days where you still have to function and their salads are always fresh. I dont have anything unfavorable to say aside from the fact that if you order with a credit/debit card you can't add the tip to the total (so make sure you have cash on hand) AND sometimes the way they package their fresh squeezed juice/iced coffee/tea leaves some spillage. Otherwise, I'll continue to be a long time customer!

I moved back down to Chelsea for L&M. No, really, I did. This is a very real love affair. I spent 2 years on 16th and was hashtag blessed to have an utterly delicious bacon, egg and cheese on a perfectly toasted plain bagel delivered to me twice on weekends around 10 a.m. We moved uptown for a few years and now we are back in the neighborhood and my weekend deliveries have recommenced. Honestly, I told the Realtor to keep the search between 14th and 18th and as close to 7th as possible because I really, really love this place. The bagels are fresh, i prefer one egg over two and they always do it, and the bacon is crispy but not overcooked. You might think it's pretty impossible to screw up a BEC but I promise you, it happens (but not at L&M). Other Stuff: I don't drink Coffee but my boyf guzzles it and seems like a coffee snob so it must be okay. They always have Nestle Chocolate Milk or Diet Dr Pepper in the fridge and most importantly: they are kind.

My wife was shopping a block away at Loehmann's. They were having a sale so I knew it might be a while. I needed to get away and do something more worthy of being a man. However I had a hunch that due to the nature of my wife's activity, I needed to keep it cheap. A quick search of "cheap eats" on the yelp app led me straight here. This little deli is deceiving. You would never guess the amount of choices for sandwiches and wraps that are in the offering here. They also have a hot bar but my guess is it's better to stick to the sandwiches and wraps. I got the L&M Special. It's a good sized sandwich made with pastrami, corned beef, melted swiss, coleslaw and mustard on rye. It was $8 - which I would say is cheap given the neighborhood. I ate my sandwich on the steps of some building across the street. It was excellent and I got plenty of envious looks from people passing by. Or maybe they were disgusted by the way I was devouring it, but I like to think it's the former. This was a cheap, good way for a quick meal. And the added bonus? My wife came out of Loehmann's empty handed.

I have been going to L&M since my first day living in the neighborhood way back. Always fresh good food and terrific caring service. They have a great reputation with their vendors and that is why they are immediately stocked after blackouts, etc. Their loyal hard working staff really cares about the customers.

Food here is always delicious and the staff is probably the friendliest staff I've ever dealt with in nyc. I'm in here multiple times a week and it's always a pleasure to put in an order here. They also deliver, but I'd call to put in an order so you can avoid the fees on seamless. The prices are pretty high but it's to be expected for the area and they certainly don't cheat you in terms of amount of food on the sandwiches. I'll continue to come in here regularly. It looks like a regular bodega from the outside but is definitely the best one I've been to in the city.

Sunday was a beautiful day so I stopped by here to pick up a sandwich on my way to the highline with friends. I got the "Highline Special" since it seemed appropro - buffalo chicken. They were very generous with the meat, but I was still a bit miffed at the $9.50 price tag (with tax). Maybe I ordered the wrong thing? Not sure why everyone has such rave reviews . . I'll have to give this place at least one more shot. Small deli with no place to sit down. Pick up and go!

I was hyped to try L&M for a while. They're one of the few places in the city who claim to sell Taylor Ham. However there's a big barrier of entry for me- while they're within delivery range to my office, they're not on any delivery platforms. You'll notice I asked above and was told it's because they're an old school deli. While you can call and place the order, I don't carry cash and don't feel comfortable giving my credit card over the phone. However, they prompted us to stop in so this weekend my partner and I did just that. I walked in hoping to write another 5-star review. You can see from my reviews that I don't typically dole out 3s or lower. Honestly, I was debating leaving this review because I love old school New York. This is my home! Supporting local businesses has been a priority of mine for years. So you might be wondering why the mediocre experience and mediocre rating? Let's dive in! The food: So I came in and got $30 worth of food. A "Taylor Ham" egg and cheese, a breakfast platter, and a bacon egg and cheese (we also bought a few drinks). I know it's nitpicky and subject to regional debate, but I don't believe their pork roll was Taylor Ham brand, and there is a very large difference. Maybe it was and what we were served was just off, but it was missing some key characteristics that I love. Overall the sandwich was good, though. If you're picky about the brand of your deli meat (like if you prefer Boars Head over Dietz & Watson), your experience might reflect mine. If you don't care, you'll absolutely love it because it was a good sandwich. The wait: This is why I wish they were on an online ordering platform. We arrived, waited 20-25 minutes, and were stuck waiting in a crowded deli. The owner is probably holding out from online ordering because of fees, but they also charge 4% more for credit card payments. So their logic doesn't quite make sense if that's the case. If it's not the case, the wait was just awkwardly long. Had they been on an online ordering platform I could've placed the order on my walk over, picked it up and been on my way in minutes and this would've been a debate between 4-5 stars instead of 2-3 stars. I also could've felt like I knew I wasn't being overcharged, while I'm not entirely sure I wasn't here. Convenience is king and my customer experience due to the wait on a hot morning was just really bad. The service: Maybe I caught them on a bad morning, but it seems like the whole place was off. The line didn't make sense, and despite ordering before a few people who got equally large take out orders, we were served well after them. Maybe I'd give them another chance if they were more convenient in both time spent there and in location, or if they decided to adapt to the 21st century rather than shun it, but there are just so many more options. While I love Taylor Ham and get it whenever I visit the in-laws out in Jersey, their pork roll isn't worth the extra steps to get to it. If they lowered the barriers to get them I'd probably order regularly, as their overall sandwich was good. I just don't think it lived up to the hype and, because of that, I'm sticking with my local food truck or a closer bodega. I wish I had a better experience because I was really looking forward to them. Your mileage may vary, and I still encourage you to give them a shot.

Everyone should make an effort to keep places like this running so the neighborhood can have quality fare at good prices. Once they're gone, these types of delis are sorely missed. Keep it up L&M!!

Outstanding! I will never use another deli in the city! The owner is a gem and so helpful. I ordered some wrap platters for my dad's birthday and not only were they delivered exactly at the time specified, the delivery guy brought my doorman a cup of coffee! Who does that these days? The wraps came with a large assortment of condiments, plates, napkins and plastic forks which I did not expect. The wraps were very fresh and everyone loved them!

This place is more useful as a convenience store than a deli. The staff are professional but not particularly friendly, the selection is adequate given the size but nothing special, and the service/speed is fine. The location is also great. It's better than the average tiny kiosk and does the job but not much more than that.

I feel blessed to live around the corner from this wonderful deli. They do everything right: they offer good deli food they know ALL of their customers they don't look at you funny when you come in for your 4th six-pack and 3rd pack of marlboros that day A great neighborhood spot that has been there for over 20 years. They thrive due to their customer service. If you live in the neighborhood walk the extra block or 2 to get there. It's worth it.

Wow ... if it was not for the good yelp reviews, I would never have entered this shop, and it would have been a shame. We were visiting NYC, and wanted to taste good pastrami sandwiches on the go ... from the outside, the store looks just like any local grocery/deli ... not very attractive. Once we got inside, we were a bit overwhelmed by the choice of breads, meats ... displayed above the counter. The man behind the counter was very very nice ! Really ! he did not rush us, gave us a paper menu, explained all our options and told us to take all the time we needed. In the end, we got a beef gyro combo (sandwich + fries + salad) ... which was rather good, and a hot pastrami sandwich, which was truly EXCELLENT !! The sandwich was bursting with meat, and the meat was so tasteful ... such a treat !! This shop is eally a hidden gem.

I love L&M and I think the guys who work there should start a consulting firm teaching other places how to do customer service. The food is great deli food (breakfast sandwiches are my favorite - and you can get turkey bacon and multi grain bread) and their shopping selection is broader then most deli's. But really I go to L&M because it is old school great. They know the people in the neighborhood they remember how you like your coffee and once your inner circle you may even get a wave from the guy behind the counter when you walk by. L&M changes as Chelsea changes they know their customers so well that you see the selection change depending on who is moving in or out. Really, this is a local place on the pulse of Chelsea's deli needs.

One of the most well made, delicious, mouth watering NYC sandwiches I've had in a long time. L&M Delicatessen is exactly the type of place you need to know about. It's located in an easy to find location on 7th Ave in Chelsea nearing the West Village. The Deli has several well priced (under $10) creations that will make anybody come begging for more. Whats even better? They have a great selection of beer, some already refrigerated, anywhere from 21st Amendment (San Francisco, CA) to Fuller's London Pride (UK). When I went there this past Saturday, the owner even gave me two cups two split my water with my drink, napkins, and did all this with a smile. He was the type of person that would know your first name if you came in several times. But more importantly, the sandwiches! They came out hot, crunchy, cheesy and dripped with just the right amount of texture and juices from the slaw, corned beef, pastrami, and melted cheese... it was slap yo momma good! Apparently they deliver, which is awesome, but now I'm bittersweet about not living in Chelsea, i'd probably die young from a heart attack. They also have bodega items in their store ranging from Quest protein bars to cleaning products to combination locks to condoms, literally everything :) All in all, i'd recommend this place, i'd return to this place, and I would order the same sandwich time and time again (or any other sandwich). The Special is really special!

I find them to have the best Bagel sandwiches around. You get a hearty bagel, egg, cheese, and real pork bacon. Staff is extremely friendly and they'll know your orders when frequent the place often, daily like myself.
