Absolutely the best food of our trip. The seafood chowder was full of mussels, shrimp scallops and fish and the tea biscuits the best I’ve eaten. We ate there two nights and my son had the lobster roll both nights. The bun was full of lobster meat perfect amount of mayo. I had the grilled haddock and veggies, the portion of coleslaw could have been a bit more generous. Coconut shrimp tasted home made Second night seafood linguine also excellent. Generous amount of the seafood. No room for dessert just too full. Wish I could get that chowder to bring home.

A Stellar Lunch at Landmark Oyster House My recent lunch at the Landmark Oyster House in Victoria-by-the-Sea was an absolute delight. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and simply awesome. The space has a fantastic energy that makes you feel right at home. The food was nothing short of great. The standout dishes were the incredibly fresh oysters, a perfectly cooked steak served with mashed potatoes, and a delicious lobster roll that tasted like a true PEI classic. Every dish was prepared with care and tasted incredible. It's clear that the kitchen takes pride in its work, delivering a lunch experience that was both delicious and memorable. What truly set the experience apart, however, was the incredible service. Our server was so attentive and genuinely friendly, making us feel valued from start to finish. Their knowledge of the menu and their positive attitude elevated the meal from great to exceptional. For anyone looking for a perfect combination of fantastic food, wonderful atmosphere, and top-notch service on the Island, the Landmark Oyster House is an absolute must-visit.

Google
Absolutely amazing service and amazing food!! Everything about this place is absolutely awesome!! Small bar area which I thought was great! Great people and conversations! My server was just the best, knowledgeable and engaging. Oysters shucked right in front of me, loved that! All locally sourced in my order. Oysters were awesome! Mussels were absolutely delish! Cold lobster roll was the best I have ever had, huge chunks of meat and the flavor was amazing! Loved the non-alcoholic drink options too! Highly recommend! I will absolutely be back whenever I'm on the island!

Google
Went here for our 20th wedding anniversary. We were accommodated (welcomed with open arms) without a reservation, despite them being very busy. The oysters were delicious! Perfectly shucked and beautifully presented. The staff were knowledgeable about the varieties of the oysters and happily made recommendations based on our preferences. The chowder and seafood linguini were yummy!! And the house-made Chardonnay paired perfectly with the meal. The small, quaint and extremely charming seaside town of Victoria is a perfect setting for this restaurant.

Google
Absolutely LOVE this restaurant!! We had to wait about 45 minutes for a table (no biggie!! Fabulous town to have some extra time in!!) but for good reason - this place is worth the wait! From the eclectic, inviting & thoughtful decor, to the friendly service, to the INCREDIBLE food. The seafood chowder is the best my husband & I have ever had…it beats the chowda we tried in Boston!! We had oysters & they were so fresh & cleanly shucked. My husband ordered the Scallop Dog & trust me when I say, it is DELICIOUS! Genius concept. The bacon jam, red pepper aioli & pickled shallots accompaniment made each bite total perfection. Our kids had a cheeseburger each from the kid’s menu & even their burgers were a generous size & so juicy. Overall rating: 20/10.

Google
Ate the oysters too fast to post proper pictures ...they were so good. Fresh and no grit! The salad was lovely with the scallops and the scallop dog - you wouldn't think it would work but it does! Husband raved about the potato salad. We were lucky enough to be sitting next to the owner's parents so had a nice chat too!

We just had a stunning dinner at LandMark. The interior is painfully charming, and was so cozy in the summer rain. We started with a red pepper / spinach dip for the table, was a great share item for three people. I had the steak sandwich, I’ll be thinking about it for weeks. Our server Kat was lovely, always checking in on drinks and helping us with recommendations. The lemon cheesecake was to die for. I asked if I could find out where they got it from and they said it was top secret which was the only disappointment of the night lol. Can’t wait to come back!

Google
We went there two years ago and decided to try it again while visiting the west of the island. It was just as good as before. The seafood was fresh, the service was impeccable, and the terrace was very nice, all for a reasonable price.

Yelp
Food was just amazing. So far best on the island. Mussels in red Thai curry sauce was so good after dipping the bread I drank the sauce too! Service was good, our person was friendly just like every Canadian I met. Bathroom was clean and tidy. Nothing to point out here other then perfect dining experience. Definitely worth a visit restaurant if your in Victoria.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and the Hot lobster rolls were very very good. Service was also excellent. Very friendly.

Yelp
Great friendly staff, cute old building, great drinks, fresh food. Enjoyed the oysters raw and cooked, Mussels in red curry, fish tacos and the blue burger and Potato salad. Definitely recommend.

Yelp
This place rocked! Our first stop in Prince Edward Island in a road trip from Virginia. I had a hankering for some fresh PEI seafood, and my best friend had a shellfish allergy, but Landmark managed to accommodate us both very well. I started with a flight of the three oysters they had on rotation that day (liked Cascumpec best). I've never really liked oysters, but I think Landmark changed my mind. Our server showed me how to add a little red wine and cocktail sauce to make it the perfect little bite. For mains I got the cold lobster roll. It was delicious, buttery, well toasted, and the meat tasted so fresh. My friend got a burger that he seriously said was one of the best he's ever had. I suppose that's what farm-to-table beef can taste like. Overall, an awesome food experience- probably our best on PEI! Our waiter was terrific, although we didn't get his name. He loved sharing about where the food came from and how it was cooked, all kinds of stuff that we, couple American tourists, loved to learn. Had to repeat a lot of orders and questions, but I reckon that was because of the accent. This is a cozy little spot in a tiny little town. The food is delicious, and the restaurant is classy, but it is still very casual. Lots of friendly people and good vibes.

Yelp
First night out on Island we did not have a reservation, but we're allowed a high top in the screen porch... There was a blanket over one of the seats in case we got cold... The restaurant was decorated in a nautical fashion, casual but classic... The menu was quite interesting offering combinations so rarely seen on menus today... Creative, tasty and homemade... I would love to say that I had photographs of our beautiful meals, but we dug in immediately so there was nothing left... We both had seafood and aMai tai. a waitress took the time to get to know us and make us laugh... It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience that I highly recommend if you're in the Victoria by the sea area. Just so special.

J T.

Yelp
A block off the Victoria by the Sea waterfront but decided on this place based on Yelp reviews. Glad we did...wife loved the room and vibe. I loved the service and food. Server recommended Fortune Bay oysters and they were the best oysters I've ever had! The mussels were really good as well. Wife wanted to come back the next day for dinner - might have had it not been for the 45 minute distance.

Yelp
Dinner was perfection! We were seated immediately and greeted warmly by the host and our server. Hubs and I shared a dozen oysters, which were delicious. We each had a cup of the seafood chowder. This was the most flavorful chowder either of us had ever had, and we live in the Pacific Northwest where chowder abounds. The portion was so large that I thought the order was mistaken and we were given a bowl. Nope. The cup is a true cup of seafoody goodness. Fortunately we shared the main course--the traditional lobster roll--served warm on a warm brioche roll. The best lobster roll ever, heavy on the lobster and with just the right amount of bread to hold it together. Our service was also excellent, and we thought the prices were reasonable. We can't recommend highly enough.

Yelp
Just the cutest spot. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The food and service were incredible. We made a reservation and they had table set for us when we arrived. I ordered the Scallop Dog and have been thinking about it ever since. The combination of all ingredients worked so well. I hope I can go back and dine there again.

Yelp
There are good restaurants and then there are great, this is definitely the latter. Perhaps even one of the reasons to come to the island. What a highlight! 2 couples, visiting from Ontario on a bike trip, recommended to come here by locals. The food is great, the setting stunning and the staff outstanding. Rustic seating, comfortable yet classy, clean, simple food done really well...really well. Highly recommend the chowder (why not it is PEI after all), Scallop Dog, mushroom toast (remember that simple food done well?) and haddock. Much more to say but you get the point. Try finishing off with the bread pudding, I did and heard the angels singing. I don't eat oysters, but it looks like I was the only one who didn't.

Yelp
I had the most delicious smoked salmon charcuterie board at this restaurant. I am not a smoked salmon fan, but because I was in PEI, I thought I'd try it being it's not farmed salmon. It was delicious! The server I had was very friendly and attentive. If you happen to be in Victoria-by-the-Sea, this is a great place to have lunch or dinner.

Yelp
Wow. This had to be the best meal we had on the island. Oysters were fantastic. Seafood chowder was AMAZING. We enjoyed the mussels as well. Adorable little spot.

S B.

Yelp
Our server, Alex, was impressive and paced our meal perfectly. Best fresh oysters we've had so far in Canada and you must try the jambalaya papardelle. Their seafood chowder was also great and I very much enjoyed the oyster poboy. We sat in their lovely screened in patio.

Yelp
We had paid a quick visit to the small town of Victoria and had heard good things about this place, so we decided to stop in during happy hour to take advantage of their deal on oysters. We ordered a bunch of them for an afternoon snack, as well as an order of local mussels. Everything tasted great, and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. We noted a gluten allergy, so they were very careful about keeping everything separate. I'd go again!

Yelp
Wow. This place was amazing! If you have the chance to go here, take it. You will not regret it. We saw the sign on the way off the island on the main road and decided we need did one more round of oysters before we left and it was one of the best decisions I've ever made. They had four types of local oysters which were shucked perfectly. We also got a steak sandwich special that was one of the best things I have ever had. The bartender was super friendly (like everyone on PEI) and gave us lots of suggests of places to go on our trip to Cape Breton as well as ideas for the next time we come back to PEI.

Yelp
Best restaurant on PEI. Service impeccable, the Bourbon burger I get cravings for, and the Thai mussels, make sure to ask for extra bread to soak up all the heavenly goodness after you've polished off the mussels. My daughter and I both agree they have the best chowder on PEI and trust me, we have tried many this summer. Don't miss out on this gem.
google avatar

Ellen M.

Yelp
So delicious! Went twice this summer and hope to go once more. Diverse menu and attentive service. Loved the freshly grated horseradish with perfectly chilled oysters. Loved the mushroom toast and the wedge salad. The salad is huge so plan to share it.

Margaret A.

Yelp
My friend and I visited this restaurant. I had the best bruschetta! Simply amazing! Then my entree was an amazing burger with a garden salad! Incredible! So juicy and flavourful! Topped the meal off with a Raspberry Basil Smash....so refreshing! The staff was amazing! I will be back! I highly recommend this restaurant! Just amazing!!

Yelp
We drove up to PEI from Truro, NS via the bridge, on our way to Charlottetown. We followed the coast and found lunch in Victoria at Landmark Restaurant. I think we were only a few days before their closure for the season. We continued our attempt to eat all of the seafood in the Maritime Provinces. Lunch was good in this nice little place. We started by splitting a Caesar salad that was crisp and fresh. Ms T ordered their Seafood Chowder and I had Cajun Scallops. The chowder was good again, but over herbed this time, apparently with herbs de province because the lavender dominated. It seemed odd to order Cajun influenced food in Canada until I remembered that this is Acadia after all. I have no idea if the food traditions of South Louisiana are connected to Acadia. In any case this was a good dish, slightly spicy and served on chewy brown or red rice. I liked the texture of the rice in place of normal Uncle Ben's. The scallops were excellent, prepared well and very tender. I imagine that this place may be difficult to get into during high season. It is small. I recommend trying, however. The food is thoughtful and well made, (lavender in the chowder aside).

Yelp
Fantastic little restaurant in the most quaint little finishing village in PEI. Went here with my pregnant wife and were fortunate enough to meet and be served by Oliver. He was great about making sure she didn't order anything that could be harmful to our unborn child and was super entertaining and friendly throughout our meal. Really great service and really amazing food at this little gem of a family run restaurant. We had the mussels which came with an unreal spicy butter that we couldn't get enough of. The seafood chowder was incredible and not as thick as many of the others we've had, which made it lighter and was quite nice. The Cajun shrimp were really great as well as the beat salad. Overall a great experience and I'd recommend it to anyone staying in or passing through Victoria.

Yelp
Great food, lovely location. We sat on the front porch and looked at the pretty houses along the street. My husband had pan seared haddock and kettle chips. His fish was super fresh and perfectly cooked. I had the cheese and charcuterie board. There were three kinds of local cheese (the origins of which the waitress described), three kinds of thin sliced meats, local strawberries and grapes, a prune, dried apricots, honey, and a few bites of corn with a delicious tangy dressing, thin sliced bread, and dots of mustard in different sized dots all artistically arranged and all delicious.

Yelp
First night in PEI and we were lucky enough to find this place in the tiny town of Victoria. We started with a cocktail- the Caeser topped with a local oyster and we shared one dozen oysters which were local and awesome. I had the mushroom fettuccine with scallops and goat cheese. It was excellent. Steve had fish cakes served on PEI mashed potatoes. He loved them. We finished it off with a lemon bar that was topped with a raspberry purée. The bartender and the other locals at the bar gave us great tips for other places to checkout on PEI

Marsha W.

Yelp
Our greeting was very friendly and we had such a wonderful time and meal, thanks to our server. The oysters (fresh on the half shell) were good and very fresh--the presentation was also well done with freshly grated horseradish and 2 sauces, all served over ice. Our meals were delicious, two of us having the beef dip, and the charred haddock was delicious. We had a great time and the atmosphere was bright and cheerful. We'll be back when we visit PEI again!

Yelp
We stopped at the Landmark for lunch, and were lucky enough to get a table on the outside patio where we could look out on Main Street while we ate. The seafood chowders were very good, fresh, hearty and not too thick. Oyster po' boy was also very good (though not very big and perhaps a bit too much batter). Overall, an excellent place to stop for a bite while in town.
google avatar

Shari D.

Yelp
Some of the best seafood chowder I've ever had. The haddock was great too. Super nice people, nice patio and cute inside too. This place is really worth an extra effort. A Five for food, value and service.

Yelp
chefs salad more like chef cabbage . i ordered a chefs salad and it was a cut cabbage split in half ! it was super hard to eat .

Jen C.

Yelp
One of the best meals I've had this summer. Dined as a couple. He had the salmon & loved it. I had pan seared halibut with mash and veg. Oh my delicious. The portions were very generous, food hot and fish was so fresh. Excellent service. We dined on the patio. Can't wait to go back again.
google avatar

Yelp
Great food and wonderful service. Loved the town and its idyllic setting. A good stopover on the way to Charlottetown or on the way back to the Confederation bridge.
google avatar

Chelly S.

Yelp
This place closes around 2:00 PM to get ready for the evening sittings. We arrived near the lunch closing time and found the door locked. There were customers inside. We talked our way into the restaurant to get a look around. A rather terse young female server told us we could order from a set menu if we sat on the deck. Her behavior throughout proved that she did not really want to answer any questions and did not want to serve us so close to closing time. The dessert and coffee we ordered was delicious. We will definitely return but hope that the server in question gets a better grasp of how attitude can affect repeat business. She was not very nIce. Perhaps we were annoying to her but we certainly meant no harm and only wanted to have a late lunch because we had read and heard so many good things about the restaurant and were not likely to be there again any time soon. If we are ever in the area again, we will try it again at the regular lunch hour.

Yelp
I'm smitten with this little cafe. Its located in the sweetest town of Victoria. Our food was wonderful and the service was outstanding. If I ever find myself back in PEI I hope to return. Thank you for an experience that is unforgettable.

Yelp
If you're snooping through here poking about the artsy kitsch stop here for lunch. We had the quiche special which was cream cheese and vegetables, with a nice salad and a home baked hot roll. Excellent fare! A nice patio and pleasant waitstaff (our waiter was an improbably tall ex bball player named Doug). Rest of the menu looked good and it is licensed. I'd come back.

Gregg P.

Yelp
This is a wonderful restaurant one short block from the wharf. Very friendly staff. Oysters from 4 P.E.I locations and the blackened, Panko crusted haddock was the best I've ever had. This is a great place to spend a bit of time on the outside deck and away from the crowded wharf restaurants.
google avatar

Tony W.

Yelp
Very friendly family owned restaurant. We came off-season for lunch and had the pan seared haddock. My friends had the lobster roll and the seafood chowder. Everything tasted great! Loved the small community atmosphere and feel!
google avatar

Ethan S.

Yelp
Excellent family restaurant. Great food and drinks. The Cajun Halibut special was very good.

Susan C.

Yelp
Loved this place! Staff were super friendly and helpful. Food was outstanding. We started with the baked oysters. Had the filet mignon with lobster, roasted carrots and potato mash for main. We topped the meal with the cheesecake. Delicious all around. Highly recommend this restaurant.
google avatar

Layla H.

Yelp
We stopped by while on a road trip in PEI. I had the mussels for the main, even though it was listed as an appetizer, the portion was huge. I also had a small salad on the side. I ate as much as I could and the mussels were delicious. My husband had a burger- it was good, but my mussels were certainly the star. The couple behind us were raving about the chowder. It was small and not crowded and I wish it had been a nicer day to sit outside. The service was friendly and the food very good. I give this place high ratings!

Kim M.

Yelp
We stayed in Victoria for week and were fortunate to eat here a few times. The food was always outstanding and the service was exceptional. Oliver, our waiter was a real gem, friendly, happy and extremely knowledgable. Another waitress that was from New York, sorry I forgot her name, was so genuinely friendly and came outside on our last day to say goodbye. I cannot say enough good about this place and we look forward to going back.

Mary Lou M.

Yelp
After hearing great reviews of the Landmark cafe we were excited to try it. We walked in the front door and a young man asked if we had a reservation which we did. He then commanded wait outside. The entrance was crowded but 4 people were paying and leaving so there was room for us to stand a wait inside as it was windy and chilly outside. The same waiter came by moments later and told me I was in his way and had knocked a customer with my purse. I turned and apologized to the gentleman who told me I did not touch him with my purse and his wife said she was just looking at my purse and admired it! The waiter lied! For what reason??? A few minutes later the same waiter told us to follow him. He took us to our table and told me to SIT AND BE QUIET. I said the f bomb under my breath, not to him. He said OK let's even things up you just FUCK OFF! Well we were with some friends of 30 years and did not want to create more of a scene, also it was 8 pm and we hadn't eaten so we stayed. Dinner was average. We all had the dinner special. I asked to speak to the manager, Eugene who came over after dinner. I found out the waiter Oliver, is the owner's son. He appeared unbalanced. I am a mature woman, high profile occupation where I deal with people every day. I teach children skiing and seniors yoga and know I am a nice person. I have never in my life been abused by a people service person like this. Oliver went around the restaurant hugging the ladies and patting the gents on the back glancing my way while being exceptionally jolly with everyone else. Oliver obviously has some problems. Eugene, Oliver's dad told me this has happened with other customers. Also, Eugene the owner said he would call me the next day but he did not! What a disappointment to PEI hospitality! We ate at six other this week in PEI that will get raving reviews!!

Mariana N.

Yelp
My husband and I went here for lunch and had very tasty meals. The atmosphere is so cool and the servers and chefs are very friendly. If you are visiting PEI like we are, then we suggest making a point of going to Victoria-by-the-sea and eating at this restaurant. Check out the cool pottery in the town too!

Bert B.

Yelp
My wife and I traveled to Victoria on PEI, Canada and went to the Landmark Cafe. One of the best dinners I have had on the island. Staying around over the next 10 days and will be back several more times. Need to make a reservation once you try this place you'll know why.

Bev W.

Yelp
Wonderful lunch! Great ambience, perfect service and great food. We even had a special today reserved for our fur baby, Gracie. Thank you. Landmark Cafe is highly recommended by us! thank you!

Don G.

Yelp
Landmark Cafe simply amazing. We shared a mussels appetizer which was the best we have ever had! We both had the baked haddock with rice and the beet salad... Again outstanding!! Service was spectacular!! This is a family owned business that is focused on excellence!

Rudy B.

Yelp
Lobster roll so good, you'll feel it doesn't deserve to be eaten. That's all I gotta say, and You Gotta Eat Here!!!!
