Landon Winery - Cypress Waters

Great atmosphere, super friendly and helpful waitstaff, clean and comfortable to chat and enjoy a drink, there is a nice menu if you're hungry or in a mood to snack, and the hours make it easy to fit into the schedule after work or on the weekend.

Been an on and off regular for about 10 years in their McKinney location. Since they opened in Coppell, I became a wine club member and visit every couple of months for their wine club tastings. They have a good assortment of Chartcuterie boards, Flatbread or lava cake to accompany your wine. Top of the line wines, friendly and attentive staff, and a relaxing atmosphere make this the perfect spot to enjoy a glass or two of wine.

If you need a place to watch your toddler play in the water while you and your husband enjoy a glass of wine on an evening when you just need to get out of the house, then this is your place. If you need a classy date night or friend catchup time, this is your place. If you want to read a book alone, this is your place. Very versatile with a good selection of drinks and pretty good charcuterie.

It is a classy and beautiful location to spend time with your special one. Update: Patty was very friendly and helpful. She made our experience even more incredible!

Always love wines and cheese board! Nothing beats it on a relaxing Friday evening. Love their wine collection and if you join the wine club you’ll get 20% off wines and food purchases. Food was a bit expensive- cheese board $19 and charcuterie board $25.. very nice vibe! 1/2 off bottles on Wednesdays!

Had an amazing experience. The bartender/hostess was awesome. We tasted a few different wines that she chose for us and we picked one that we liked. I bought a bottle, even though you can buy a glass, sat on the veranda and enjoyed the evening lights. It was several kids out, but the atmosphere was on point.

Second time coming to Landon, first time outside of the Grapevine Wine Tour. Very cordial, great wine, and an amazing atmosphere. Great place to relax with friends!

This location was a pleasant surprise. The Texas wines truly did a party on our palate 🍷 Highly recommended. Kimmie was amazing with good tips for the Cabernet drinkers which my husband and I are.

My wife and I love going to Landon Winery. We always make a stop in when we're in the area (usually going to Rodeo Goat). They have an excellent array of wines to choose from (I honestly think there are several dozen) so there's something for everyone. I normally do a tasting of the barrel aged wines because I can never choose what I want and it ends up being a great deal as you get 5 wines to sample. They do have a nice selection of food / charcuterie to choose from so if you are hungry, you can just stay there and eat. They recently expanded into the building next door so there is a ton of open seating and when it's a nice day they open up the back wall to let the fresh air in. I highly recommend Landon Winery as a great place to sit back, relax, and enjoy some excellent wines.

My man has a standing date on Wed to meet up with his buddies. I just moved down here to join him and have now been to 2 Wednesday gatherings. Wed is Half price wine night! -and they happily let you bring in your own food. I love a Bargain. It can get pretty loud outside with the tree grackles (which for some strange reason I am fond of, AND had never heard of before prior to visiting Texas). The waitress this crowd gets as "regulars" is Christine, who is a doll - she keeps me in consistent glasses of ice for my h20- and she knows what people want before they order it - it was pretty fun the first night I saw it in action, she was quite the "cat wrangler" of our table of 9. I imagine I will be here most Wednesdays (except in the heat of summer). I am from Northern CA - close to wine country - so the wine could be more to my liking, but i cannot fault the service, the atmosphere OR the pricing so 5 stars.

Big shoutout to Chris! She's the heart of the party here - super friendly, knows her wine inside and out, and just makes your day better. If you're looking for recommendations, she's your go-to. Seriously, she's like the wine whisperer or something! The wine selection is on point - whether you're a wine newbie or a bit of a snob (like me sometimes ), you'll find something you love. Chris hooked me up with a few choices that were just what I needed. The vibe at this place is just what you'd want for a relaxing day out. It's laid back, but still feels a bit fancy - in a good way. Perfect for a date, hanging with friends, or just when you need a break from the usual. So, yeah, definitely check out Landon Winery. Great wines, awesome people, and ask for Chris - you won't be disappointed. Can't wait to head back!

The service is terrible. It seems to depend on what you wear. If you are dressed in a polo and slacks, you are served first. But if you come in a T-shirt and shorts, it takes much longer to get served. It seems like they care more about how you look than whether you have the money to spend. It's all about appearances for them!

My husband and I tried this location for our anniversary. We are not drinkers, but wanted to try something different. The service we received was excellent. We did the wine tasting, and our server was very friendly and explained the different wines options which helped us choose what we wanted to sample. I love the ambience of the winery and I can say that if I did drink wine, this would be a place I would frequent. The charcuterie board was delicious!! I would definitely recommend this place!

The first thing I need to say is that the ladies that work here are incredible! They're the sweetest and most patient staff I've ever met. They're incredibly helpful and kind and a big reason this spot now is a new favorite of mine. Aside from that all of the wine me and my partner tasted as delicious! There was some serious care put into these wines and you can taste it. We went in on a rainy day, so we sat inside, but that was still lovely and the ambiance was welcoming and relaxing. Absolutely want to come back and bring more people. Thank you so much again to the staff for being great! (And for providing a small charcuterie board that had ACTUAL delicious options).

Each wine is carefully made to ensure that it offers a pleasant taste experience, including rich red wines with strong flavors and crisp or refreshing whites. Charcuterie and Decadent Desserts It's possible to enhance your tasting experience by pairing wines with the perfect ingredients. Charcuterie board, which features a range of fine cheeses, cured meats, and tasty accompaniments. It is an excellent complement to your wine selection, which will allow you to explore a wonderful combination of flavors. Their merlot cheese is so divine. But it's worth noting that their charcuterie plate can be of a higher price The absolute must-have is their chocolate lava cake. It's no wonder that this dessert has always been popular among the masses, thanks to its rich and gooey center as well as chocolate goodness. Be warned, though, it may become an addiction!

Came here on a wine tour and based on the wine choices offered the wine was mid. The atmosphere was lovely, the wine was for the beginners and the service was nice.

Been coming here for years why haven't I done a dang review?!! Definitely come kick it if you are looking for a cozy wine bar in the neighborhood. Live music occurs on Friday nights. Very wonderful kind people work here. Not pretentious which is my jam. They have spiced wine when it gets cold in the fall/winter months! This place reminds me of the bodega/vino shop I worked at in college. Bring out of town guests, clients, a date whatever your fancy! Cheers to good vino and a relaxing atmosphere.

I really enjoyed this place. It is a winery so it's low key for sure. The ladies in there are super helpful. I didn't really know what I wanted but they suggested a frozen margarita with strawberry frozen on top! Yummy! The ladies in there give amazing service. They put together some great flights for us. It is a small space inside but the outside is very spacious. The great part is that there are lots of restaurants surrounded by it so you can walk next door to get pizza , fish and chips , wings or whatever. There is parking available. Large parking lot!

Always comfortable, great service. The wine is good, and they have nice cheese/meat charcuterie boards. Love sitting outside on the patio. Great place!

If I could give 10 stars I would! My husband and I wanted to do something low key for our wedding anniversary and had been dying to try Landon Winery at 'The Sound' after seeing it multiple times. We went in early on a Saturday afternoon when they opened at 11am and Chris who was working was beyond nice and helpful! We explained that we had never been here before and we were celebrating. She asked what we liked and gave us a tasting of a few wines to see what we liked. It didn't take a lot of tries to find something that suited us both. My husband got a rose -I believe- that tasted like raspberries and I was able to get a sangria slush that was OUT OF THIS WORLD GOOD. It had a red and white with the raspberry wine floating- I don't even like raspberries normally but this was bangin. We also had some champagne to celebrate and tried a dessert chocolate-y wine. All SO GOOD. We ordered a charcuterie board to go along with the wine and Chris was super nice and made sure we liked everything (we aren't olive people so she substituted for us no problem!). She also went above and beyond with a dessert lava cake that had the chocolate wine on top. My mouth is watering just remembering how good it was- hah! I cannot wait to go back, and we are hoping to make it out to the actual winery in east texas - as this location is mainly a tasting room. Overall, I would highly suggest coming here! You can even bring friends who would prefer food from one of the other venues and eat outside from multiple different places while you still enjoy your wine, so fun! Don't sleep on this place!

I loved their champagne. What I didn't love was the $12 counter service up charge to take the champagne outside. They did provide a seating area, wine glasses and a cooling container and had water available for customers to take outside in plastic glasses. These are all self serve I also did not like that they asked for a tip with pre populated selections when you paid for the bill. I guess the 18-25% selections were for opening the bottle My suggestion is that they don't ask for a tip for services that they don't provide. A tip is for service. There was no service provided. The only thing they did after the sale was ask if we wanted to order some food.

It's the wine for me! The wine selection here is sure to please even the pickiest of those members of your party. I've had nearly every wine so I'll review new ones that I have recently fallen for. First, the Texan which a robust red that brings subtle berry flavor and pairs well with aged cheeses. Second, the Sauvignon blanc, this one surprised me because it reminds me of sunshine on a perfect day where you're sitting on a porch with friends. Literally that feeling in a bottle. Third, the first dessert wine I've ever liked was their chocolate wine. Oh it's strong and sweet but the depth of flavor keeps you wanting more. I love to use it to make a chocolate topping sauce in desserts. Landon's wines and the staff are 10/10.

I came here after a rough couple weeks with co workers and we really enjoyed our visit! Michael was behind the bar, friendly and very knowledgeable! Highly recommend everything you see in here. One wine was a raspberry wine (bottles were taken home) and I believe peach was the white wine. Top notch drinks at my new fav place! So I stumbled upon this gem and couldn't be more excited that I did. Totally lived the vibe an atmosphere in this area in general. One of my girlfriends was bidding from Detroit for her birthday weekend and we wanted some wine. Low behold we found the perfect spot. The young woman that was there that night was absolutely the best and most friendly person. She recommended some excellent suggestions. I forgot her name but I loved her personality. She was a blonde, petite and wore glasses. She deserves a raise because she had some rude and obnoxious people but she still smiled through it and gave excellent service. Definitely will go back to try out more wines and enjoy the view of the water and the other great resturants around there.

Landon Winery is great. They have a wonderful selection. The Riesling is absolutely my favorite. Do note that there are no waiters here. You simply go order when you are ready, bar style. There is limited seating indoors, but ample seating across the entire outdoor area here at The Sound. The decor inside is ambient and warm with Edison bulbs and (of course) lots of wine! The staff is friendly and very helpful with recommendations. A glass of wine can be a bit pricey, but this is typical for good wineries! Come enjoy some live music and try some delicious wine!

Definitely a nice chill spot! The ambiance was such a vibe, and the staff was excellent! The wines were absolutely outstanding! I'm going back!

This lovely, modern tasting room has beautiful wines. Chris, our host for the afternoon, was pleasant and amazingly informative. She is an asset to Landon Wines. Food was a nice addition to our flights.

Such a convenient little wine spot to have in the Cypress Waters area. I did the tasting on my original visit and fell in love with their Yellow Rose wine. They tasting was fun and we had a lil buzz afterwards. Definitely a fun date night or girls night. Now I visit here pretty regularly and always bring my out of town visitors by to check it out.

The first time I ever tried Landon Winery was many years ago. I completely forgot how delicious it was! So glad I found this shop and enjoy these flavors. I prefer to have sweet wines and my fiancé prefers red blends, so the sommelier gave us great recommendations. We loved the wine tasting option. We enjoyed tried 5 different wines for the price of $15/person. My favorites were the Red Merlot, Riesling, Peach, and Red Rose. Other wines we enjoyed include Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve, Yellow Rose, Texan, Raspberry, 15 Anniversary, and The Signature. We also enjoyed a Charcuterie Board while we drank our wines, it was delicious! The Sommelier was so helpful and friendly. This shop abides by COVID-19 precautions, so thank you for that! We bought 2 bottles to take home as well. Can't wait to come back!

I've been coming to the Landon Winery in Cypress Waters since 2019. I became a wine member a year ago and I love Landon!! They have great wines and great charcuteries boards! The Cabernet Sauvignon reserve and Texan are my favorites! We LOVE Chris. She is always so nice and attentive! I am so happy to see they have expanded in to the next building. There are some new faces behind the bar that are a little unprofessional but nevertheless we love coming here and will keep coming for years to come!

Discovered Landon winery as part of the Fall 2021 North Texas Wine Trail tour. This location is fantastic and they have a good variety of wines; dry, sweet, Texas based, and others. Genna is a gem of a host and won't disappoint you when trying to find the perfect wine for your taste. Go knock off work early on a Friday afternoon, bring your co-workers, enjoy the patio, and some great wine and food. You'll be glad you did.

I am not an alcohol drink at all, nor wine for that matter. However, Landon Winery absolutely captured my heart with the Peach Wine. You can get $15 tasting flights here (5 tasting samples), and if you are looking for a good time, I highly recommend that! Since this place is a bar, there are no servers. You simply go up to the bar and make your order. They also have an assortment of charcuterie boards, and other various food items that I am eager to try next time I am here. All in all, if you are looking to catch up with friends at a semi-fancy place without breaking the bank, Landon Winery is the place to be!

Will they give me a prize if I told them I've been to all their 3 locations around the metroplex? :D Aptly located in the center of this newest neighborhood called The Sound at Cypress water overlooking North Lake. What better way to end your daily grind in Irving/ Las Colinas area is with a glass of some good local wine. Landon has been one of my favorite local wine destination. This particular one is the smallest of the three but they have an awesome outside patio overlooking North Lake. Decor is slightly different from the other location too. This has more modern feel to it. McKinney has that old aged winery vibe while Wylie is very rustic. Either way, check out their wines and I promise that you would find something that you will enjoy.

We came here for a tasting and definitely wanted to check out the area since it's fairly new to us! Kimberley was super sweet and helpful during our tasting. Gave us recommendation and chatted with us the whole time. What an awesome experience. The tasting gives you 5 sips of any wines on their menu for $10! What a deal! Highly recommended!!!

Amazing wine. Love every event they host. Boards by B hosted an Aperitivo Party that was wonderful. Wine and cheese pairings were great! If you're ever in the area you have to stop by and enjoy.

I'm a serious wine lover. I LOVE to drink great wine. And like most people who love to drink great vino we don't usually associate great wines with Texas, until now. Most people know I'm from NYC, but one of the reasons I came down to Texas was for college. Texas has some amazing Colleges. Long story short, I eventually ended up with 4 degrees, one of which, a Viticulture & Enology degree from The "Munson" Viticulture & Enology program at Grayson County College, in Texas. It's not far from Greenville, Texas where the Landon Winery is, where the wine is made, that you can go for a actual tour. See their website for the touring schedule. Anyhoo, I'm pretty sure we went to the same Viticulture & Enology program. It's one of the few degreed grape growing/wine making programs in the US & the first of its kind in Texas. A really cool place. And I'm pretty sure the guys that make this wine, was in my viticulture & Enology class. "Thomas Volney Munson" who came to Denison, Texas to begin a career in grape research, stayed here his whole life. Grayson County became T.V. Munson's home after his first visit, stating, "I have found my grape paradise!" He went on to develop three hundred superior grape varieties from the wild native grapes along the bluffs of the Red River. Where I bought my land & farm, where the Blue Ostrich vineyard & The Arché Winery & Vineyard is also located. So, I have been involved with Texas winemaking for over a decade. And I can tell you there has never been a great Texas Pinot Noir, till now. When I stopped by this little shop to try "Landon's Pinot Noir wine" I was told Landon's is actually growing their grapes in the panhandle of Texas, however the winery is actually located in Greenville, Texas. Hubby & I can't wait to go for a visit ASAP, see if I can find my old classmate, mate. Lol Anyhoo, if you love a great Pinot Noir, you have to try "Landon's Pinot Noir" Its very good, $20 a bottle, A great Pinot Noir, my new favorite. The best to come out of Texas so far IMO. Shocking I know, I signed up for the wine club, got 50% off my first case & can not wait to return to try some different variety's. The ladies that work in the wine shop will hook you up! They will ship all over the US. Cheers! Texas Pinot Noir, it has arrived! Highly recommend.

This place is great. We came for a tasting and joined the club! The setup for the tasting was great. The pairings were spot on. I was immediately sold on the club. We ordered a charcuterie board and found a nice seat on the patio by the fountain. The temps were perfect for a wine night outside! This location is awesome. You can't beat the view. If your looking for all these things to complete your night then you will find it here at Landon Winery at the Sound.

In a town called "grapevine" you should be expecting decent wine.... This place delivers and then some.... Landon has a fantastic wine list that changes with the wines that the winery is proud to make....if you want something from else from them I cannot help you. Long story short this place is amazing and should be first on your list of places to try in grapevine.

We are wine club member, so I am a little bias. Their wine is delicious, hence the membership, and their service is always top notch. We have visited all their locations this being the newest one. It has a more modern Art Deco feel to match its surrounding area. The winery is quite small, but the outside covered patio is very inviting. This particular location has an amphitheater towards the back patio where different venues perform making it for a fun family outing. Landon allows you to order food from the neighboring businesses but they also provide cheese and meat boards. I love it here so much, I have offered to work weekends for them. However, I don't think they have taken me seriously. (They have, I am now a landon employee!)

This place is always a great choice. Wine Down Wednesday is great for assisting you through the week. Hahaha. The only thing better than the Wine-a-Ritas is the service. Ask them about their Wine Club if you're into wine, a no brainer.

I'm a fan of any winery that has a flight option! For $10, you can try 5 1oz. pours of wines before settling on what you'd like to settle in with. I tried a glass of the Orange Muscat Dry and it was delicious! In addition to serving whites and reds, they also have very refreshing wine-a-ritas for $8 and sangria options. Next time I go, I'll have to try their social wine-infused pops! Their card system is a little slow, so I waited for some time to close my tab. There's ample parking around the area and a cute patio you can sit on to watch live music in the evenings!

I've been going to the McKinney location for over 10 years and it's always fun & friendly. Decided to try the Coppell location. The staff chatted amongst themselves and ignored customers on a busy Saturday night. Then they all shimmied up to one of the tables to eat in front of customers and again ignored customers. Super unprofessional IMO. I'll go to McKinney next time. Wine was good as usual.

Had the most amazing afternoon at Landon. Michel & Genna were amazing & really know their wines! Wines were delicious & ambiance was perfect. Will definitely be back!

Great place to visit while in town. The tasting room is next to three breweries, a coffee shop, and a pizza place. There is a lake in the middle of it that you can take your wine and walk around. Live music on some nights. Corn hole, large jenga, and table tennis. Fun outdoor tables. QR code's on each table for all of the places. You just have to scan, and the drinks come to your table. The wines are amazing. The Chardonnay reserve and the Texan are my recommendations. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and willing to educate. The flatbreads are tasty!

This place is so cozy! Charles and Kat were absolutely delightful. They have great wine, and it's nice that the place is quiet. A lot of places on Main St. are loud. Great place for happy hour or date night. We will absolutely be back! They are following Covid rules and regulations. No bar seating, adequate seating that's spread out and masks for all employees.

This winery is a golden gem! We went on a busy Saturday night and got wine tastings (5 tastings for $10). Tonya was the absolute best! Very accommodating and helpful when we all were trying figure out which wines to try next. They have a really neat wine club I'm looking into joining (affordable and great quality of wine). We had a blast and can't wait to go back!

I enjoyed a tasting with friends Saturday night. They had a very nice assortment of wines. My favorite was the rose and was very sad they were sold out. I live closer to their establishment in Grapevine so I will have to check them out there and hope they have the rose in!

A great place to grab a glass of wine (or even a bottle) The staff is friendly and they share great recommendations! The patio is large to accommodate big groups and perfect to enjoy nice weather and the music that plays on Thursdays. They have great specials too! Wednesday is half priced ALL on site bottles and Sundays they have $3 mimosas! Yummy!

I love the wine tastings here! They have a great selection of reds, whites, and even dessert wines. I also really enjoyed the meat and cheese board we had. The best tomatoes I ever had were on there. For a hot Texas day the wine-a-rita is really refreshing.
