A downtown tasting room for one of North Texas’s veteran wineries, with flights, Texas pours, and weekly happenings like Wine Down Wednesday. A relaxing way to take in the square between shopping and dinner.

A nice spot centrally located in downtown for wine. There is ample indoor or outdoor seating available. Wines are available to taste, glass pour, or bottle. The bubbly we very nice this time. Service was okay but a little disorganized, likely due to other guests. Prices are reasonable. Will behaved family friendly. Parking may be tough at times. I'll be stopping by anytime I need some wine.

Google
This is a charming and cozy place to enjoy a glass of wine and great conversation with friends. The wine selection is excellent, but the champagne truly stands out. It's phenomenal. The staff is consistently friendly, welcoming, and helpful, which adds to the warm atmosphere. Whatever you do, don’t skip the Landon charcuterie board. I’m not sure how they do it, but it pairs perfectly with everything! Highly recommend for a relaxed and enjoyable outing

Rhonda is excellent! She donated a bottle of wine to the McKinney Leadership Class dinner. Thanks so much!

Excellent wine and snacks. The staff was so friendly and nice. We had plenty of wine to try all delicious. We had an amazing time.

Google
Wine was good, patio is very nice, service not so great. We wanted to do a tasting & sit outside. We were told to select our wines & pay our tab inside. The wines were brought out to us & that was it. Nobody checked in on us to see if we had any questions or to explain the wines. Not even an offer of water. This place is about making money, not about promoting their wines. By the way, it was not a busy day for them, a lot of empty tables. This is just a bar, not a winery.

Google
Nice, relaxing atmosphere and good wines. The offerings run from sweet reds to dry and dessert wines. The Yellow Rose, Raspberry, Peach, and Chocolate dessert wines are exceptional. The cheese board and spinach dip pair very well with all wines. I would recommend the tasting flight, they have so many options to choose from. Limited seating inside, but there is a lovely patio facing the Town Square with plenty of seating. Reasonable prices for a glass of wine. The downside is the staff, they are a bit snooty and aloof. Customers have to try and get their attention to buy anything. Definitely room for improvement on the service. 🍷

Has an amazing experience at the Grapevine location so decided to stop in (unplanned) strolling through Downtown McKinney. What a pleasant staff and venue. Definitely date night worthy.

Google
If you wish to pay a corkage fee for out sourced wine you purchase on property the i guess it's ok. McKinney has a nice touristy historical downtown & plenty of wine options. In general there are very few Bordeaux blend (bold) options as most the wine is very fruit foward. I guess because Landon is decent sized & has a patio on the corner they feel as if it's ok to charge $15 extra to drink on property. It's no comparison to wine tasting in actual vineyards, it's more of a party atmosphere with huge profit margins. Look elsewhere in town if you're an actual wine fan.

Yelp
Location On the corner of town square-across from old courthouse. Parking Street, garage Atmosphere Smaller than Wylie or Coppell but bigger than Grapevine location. Cozy with 2 sections for seating inside and patio seating-easy and patio chairs/tables. For the pick up parties-Armedisted the singing chef serves up delicious menu items while singing. Service Friendly and attentive Menu Great selection of wines. This month's white was a delicious surprise-the reds are robust and the sparkling rose is yummy! The singing chef served pulled rib sliders and peach cobbler with whipped cream! Summary We made the trip to meet up with friends at the pick up Party-so popular-standing room only! Will def return but will be earlier! Great service, great vibe, perfect location, easy parking. Rnjoy!

Yelp
Great location, popular and of course perfect to stay local. Coming here is a focus on ambiance. It is cute legit. So you can enjoy a great girl's day or corporate event for example. However, this is what to be cognizant of: The prices are completely inappropriate. I had to pay $26 for a short pour of Texas wine. Not California, Italian, or French wine. I could have bought a bottle or two for that. I have to bus my own table, and I am still expected to tip. When sitting out on the large patio (so great for ppl watching BTW) there are no patio fans or other normal accoutrements outdoor venues use to help cool down customers. On a good note, they seem to have improved their sound system for live music. Overall- great for ambiance but come prepared to empty your pockets.

Yelp
Beyond amazing atmosphere Had a great time service was great Great margarita pizza to share and really delicious too. We ordered another rounds of the same thing food and drinks I was really a fan of the raspberry wine and the bubbly Demi sec sweet reminded me of champagne.

Yelp
Love the outdoor seating area. Sitting out on the patio with a frozen swirl sangria on a sunny afternoon can't be beat.

Yelp
Located in downtown McKinney, this is a nice little landing spot in the area. Ambiance/Atmosphere - 4/5 - I have been here a few times, and normally just sit outside. Downtown McKinney is really nice, and this is a nice spot to just sit and sip on some wine. Staff - 5/5 - Very friendly. They are also very helpful with recommendations Drink - Ordered the following: Chardonnay - bottle - $30 - 4/5 - Nothing fancy here, but much cheaper by the bottle. Rose of Syrah - Glass - $13 - 4/5 - Definitely refreshing. Really enjoyed this glass. Peach Wine-a-Rita - $11 - 4/5 - Just wanted to try it. Beware of a brain freeze. Overall, you can't beat the location and just to stop by for a glass or three. I love downtown McKinney and this is a great location. Overall, I will be back.

Yelp
This is the best place in downtown McKinney for a huge charcuterie board and some wine. They have a ton of wine options, whether you like sweet or dry, I personally recommend the peach wine! The Texan board is delicious and gigantic, the entire restaurant was jealous when the saw the waiter bring it out for us. If it's a nice day you have to sit outside and enjoy the square for a perfect afternoon.

Yelp
Great local business, good wine, fun little set up to hang out and socialize. Also, their Wylie store is pretty solid too.

Yelp
Wonderful food and wine options. Really fun music bingo! Personable staff and friendly service.

Yelp
We love having a little wine night and Landon is a great place. while the wine may be a little overpriced, the relaxing atmosphere and friendly staff make up for it! Sometimes there is live music outside of the patio area on weekends.
google avatar

Kyerra B.

Yelp
I wanted to do something spontaneous today plus I needed to pick up my wine from the wine club so we decided to stay and have a drink! I had a glass of Riesling & my partner had the Peach Sangria! Both were sooo good! Thankfully it wasn't too hot and we were able to sit on the patio and enjoy the view! The server was attentive and personable. We walked in and were served immediately!! It was a good time!!
google avatar

Yelp
Loved the location in downtown McKinney. Servers were kind and helpful. Flights were $20 for 5 tastings. Enjoyed some reds. The only issue is the "winery" label, which implies that they make some of their own wines; instead they import the wine. Not a huge dealbreaker; I would have gone somewhere more local if I'd have known. Didn't eat anything from the menu, but I saw several with the charcuterie boards, and they looked delicious. Decor was nice, and I liked that they had board & card games for patrons to use.

Yelp
Love Landon Winery! Went in during Oktoberfest, everything was so crowded, but the staff was still super nice and attentive. I am a wine lover and am always so thrilled that they have an Amarone, and it did not disappoint.

Yelp
We were out on a busy night at the square and wanted wine. Everywhere seemed to have a 1-2 hour wait, so we turned to Landon winery. The inside was cool and quiet, a nice relief from the summer heat. My friend and I had our hearts set on dessert, so we each order a chocolate lava cake. When my friend asked at the bar which of two wines would pair better with the chocolate, it quickly became clear that the servers are not hired for the wine knowledge. We were left to our own choices and enjoyed a peaceful evening of conversation. The cake was delicious, and the wine was fine to my unsophisticated palate.

Yelp
Very quaint and cozy establishment in downtown McKinney. It was easy to walk in and order a glass of wine/find a table. This was also on a Saturday afternoon, so wasn't sure if we would be able to easily be seated. They also had an extensive wine selection for reasonable prices. Our waitress was also very personable and friendly. I would return and recommend!

Yelp
So much LOVE for Landon's!! If you live downtown Mckinney or are new to the area. Landon's is a staple! Great atmosphere right off the main square whether you like to patio sit or be indoors. Everyone's really friendly and the wine is actually good. They just amped up there food menu too! My fav is the flatbread and a bottle of Pinot Grigio. Great place for holiday events too! Have been coming to Landon's for over 10 years and they never disappoint no matter the occasion.
google avatar

Yelp
The Cabernet Reserve is delicious if you like Cabs. I usually only drink California Cabs, and this is one of my local favorites. The patio is huge with pretty views of downtown McKinney. I recommend going during the week if you can or right when they open on weekends as I have been there when it's packed and service is impossible. There may be 2-3 people inside serving customers so grab your table first then stand in line for drinks!

Chelsey H.

Yelp
Love this winery! And I'm so excited that they are starting up Music Bingo on Friday nights this week! Hoping to win some fun prizes....crossing my fingers it's a bottle of wine!

Yelp
FUN place to enjoy time on the square in McKinney. The wine was excellent and while we didn't eat there everything we saw go by looked great!!
google avatar

Ryanne D.

Yelp
Don't come here very often over the years. Never really found a wine I wanted to sit and drink. Finally found a wine here that I love....15 Anniversary edition. I can return because this wine is amazing. I can't wait to return
google avatar

Nicole M.

Yelp
Fun little spot in the middle of town. I had the sparkling which was refreshing in the middle of the day and paired perfectly with the charcuterie board! It was so delicious we ate it before I could snap a picture
google avatar

Taylor K.

Yelp
Landon has a wide selection and offers something for everyone. Their tasting room is cozy yet spacious and we love their board game selection. The only thing I dislike is that there isn't a set tasting. You're free to pick whichever 5 wines you'd like with no guidance. They're often too busy to describe each wine to you, so you don't get a true tasting experience like you do at some of the other tasting rooms on the square.

Cindy L.

Yelp
Expensive, nice setting, service not real good, and still expected tip. Bought cheese board and bottle.
google avatar

Kimberly P.

Yelp
Had a blast here! Staff extremely nice! Wine selections were so good and the charcuterie board was amazing!! Will be back ASAP!!'n

Yelp
We literally ran in to get out of a rain storm and the interior (and outside covered seating) is inviting and comfortable. There's no table service and the wait at the bar is confusingly long. It wasn't because there was a lack of workers, it was just slow. ??? We only tried a couple of glasses (one each), the Pinot Gris and the dry muscat orange. (Honestly, we couldn't tell a difference between the two.) It was a cool place to hang out and watch the storm pass.
google avatar

Brooke L.

Yelp
Surprisingly good! I only tasted the grigio and canceled the flight of the other 4. This was EXACTLY what I needed :))) tasty, cool, crisp, fruity and honey?? Delicious!

Krysta M.

Yelp
We love Landon Winery! The flights + a board is the best deal in town with fantastic staff. Go grab a table on the patio and enjoy the downtown views. Perfect for date night!

Yelp
I wish circumstance was different and I did not have to leave this review, but in light of recent events, it feels necessary. I have been a long-time customer of Landon's and have participated in Wine Wednesday there countless times. I used to live on the square so I would frequent the McKinney Location multiple times a week. My parents have also been long time wine club members but sadly, that is all now going to change. My Fiancé and I recently got engaged and upon deciding to host our wedding and all related festivities in Downtown McKinney, we were so excited at the idea of having our rehearsal dinner at Landon's. I followed all proper protocol to book our event and was even told by staff when we visited in person that our application for our requested date had been accepted and we were good to go. I tried to give my credit card to the employee and was told that it was not necessary to ensure our booking. I persisted just to make sure that everything truly was squared away and was told "we just got a new POS system so even if you gave me your credit card, I would not know how to use it" and was again assured that as long as I called the next week and submitted payment details, we would be fine. I then get a call from Rhonda not even two days later letting me know that our date had been given away and there was nothing that could be done and asked if we wanted to reschedule. Given that our wedding is the next day, obviously rescheduling is not an option. I had already spent HUNDREDS of dollars on invitations that included wedding weekend details (i.e. the rehearsal dinner), so not only do I know have to go through the stress and hassle of finding another location that can accommodate our party, I now get to pay HUNDREDS of more dollars to reprint wedding stationary. If I had been the one to drop the ball, I would not be leaving this review. However, I did everything within my ability to ensure we were taken care of and we were completely screwed over, hence this one-star review. I am a firm believer that where you spend your money matters, and due to this, Landon's has lost my business permanently. The only real loss to me is the location on the McKinney square as the wine is average (sometimes below), but there are now plenty of other places with a good patio and even better food selection. PSA, if you are going for the wine and not just the location, just know that you can import much better quality wine from places like Napa and enjoy it from a location that won't throw years of faithful business down the drain and add stress to an already stressful time of planning. If you looking for a place on the square to host a larger event such as a rehearsal dinner, I urge you to look for a place that will not give your date away and adequately trains employees. I truly am sad to leave this review and remove myself from the Landon's customer base, but I have too much respect for myself to continue to give money to a company that clearly does not value customers.

Yelp
It's good to see my favorite winery continue to provide excellent wine and customer service. Bob does an amazing job at all his locations ensuring his staff works hard and works together. It saddens me to see these negative posts since I visit the McKinney location, 5-6 times a month. Vicky and Lydia have always been some of our favorite servers at this location. There has been others who have provided excellent service as well. We are wine club members and have been visiting this location for the last 11 years and have never once had a bad experience. Those of you who have had a negative experience I highly encourage you to visit Lydia or Vicky and give them another opportunity to show you the Landon experience.

Yelp
Just took a break and grabbed a glass of wine at Landon in downtown McKinney. Several good choices on the white or red side of the the taste buds. I'm having the Cab Reserve today and it does not disappoint. My wife is having the Roussanne dry white. "She likes it a lot". Emit running the main counter inside is always hospitable. Pricing is typical for wine by the glass $12-$19. Don't hesitate to try it if your in town.

Yelp
This is a great place to hang out and chat and drink with friends. If you don't like loud crowed bars, but you don't want to drink at home, this is a great middle ground! We sat on their outdoor patio in the evening and bought a bottle of wine for 2 people. There was one guy working the bar, and busing, so it was a little backed up, but he was doing his best, and still provided friendly attentive service. They have plenty of indoor seating, but it was beautiful outside so we chose the patio. There is also plenty of space outside, and the tables have a nice distance between them, so you don't feel like you're right next to the other people around you. You have a great view of the square, and on the weekends they have live music. This is a great hangout space, but make sure you like wine!

Yelp
My husband, daughter and I went to the Landon Winery McKinney last Saturday, during which time I picked up my wine for the wine club. We also sat and shared two bottles of wine, Raspberry, and Red Rose. I literally had no idea I would be charged an additional $10.00 for each bottle simply because they were opened for us, and we drank them there. My daughter and I carried the three wine glasses and two bottles of wine to our table ourselves. The extra charge is ridiculous. Before I went to the winery, I looked at the two bottles on the website and they reflect $18.00 each. If I had known I would be charged an additional $10.00 for each bottle, I would have taken the two bottles with me and drank them at home. Nobody bothered to tell me there was an additional $10.00 charge for each bottle. AND I WAS NOT SHOWN A MENU. This really makes me angry. I will never go to another Landon Winery again. The two charges Saturday were $41.14 for my wine club pickup. All good. The other charge was for $50.24 for the two bottles I drank at the winery, I looked at my bank statement, and instead of $50.24, the charge was then $61.29. What in the heck was the extra $11.05 for? I spoke with the manager this morning, and she was a little condescending. I asked her what the additional $10.00 to drink a bottle of wine was for. She said they have to go prices and drink the wine there prices. Something about a discount to take the wine with you and share with your friends. I told her I was not advised about it, and she said, "Well, it's on the menu." I told her I was not shown a menu. She then said, "Well." What? What does "Well" mean? She also said I was wine club member before, and I had deactivated it. I then told her I knew. That is my right. She then said, "You don't have to worry about being a wine club member again." Seriously? Not nice. I spoke with two Wine Sommelier's, and they both told me they had never heard of this. If I brought wine in and drank it, there is typically a corkage fee, but not if you purchase it there and drink it there. This is literally equivalent to going to a restaurant and ordering a meal, and the restaurant charges you an additional $10.00 to eat it there. This was all both a frustrating and ridiculous experience. Needless to say, I deactivated my wine club membership...AGAIN.

Yelp
This winery is the BEST patio and BEST wine EVER on the square in McKinney... Great ambiance, wonderful staff, and Bob Landon knows how to provide an atmosphere to relax and enjoy an evening out!... Wednesday is half price night so make sure it's your first stop when coming to downtown McKinney!!...

Olivia M.

Yelp
Wine, service and food was amazing! Alyssa delivered the best service. Rose was so yummy! Also, take other reviews with a grain of salt because I was here when grown men yelled at a woman on Mother's Day about his pizza. He was out of line!
google avatar

Tami V.

Yelp
We sat on the patio and enjoyed some wine while waiting for our reservation. Nice place with a great patio. The wine was very good!! We'll definitely go back and sample some more.

Kayla M.

Yelp
Love this place! Have been to the one in grapevine and Mckinney! Really enjoy the patio area in Mckinney. They have the best Riesling - I never leave without a bottle! Dog friendly as well :) Cute spot for a date night.
google avatar

Leslie E.

Yelp
I loved this winery. It was in downtown McKinney! We loved the laid back and relaxed vibe of this place and how warm and welcoming it was. We enjoyed our time and drinks here. My favorite wines were sweet: Riesling, chocolate finale and yellow rose.
google avatar

Sandra M.

Yelp
Wine is great! Been coming here for years and it never disappoints. Reason for 3 stars is the service has gotten worse with time. They've had me carry the bottle, the holder, and three wine glasses to my table. They see trash at the tables and leave it there for other guests to take it to them (pizza boxes, empty bottles, wine glasses). I'll continue to go here because I love their wine and food but I am not the biggest fan of their service.

Yelp
This is the place to be on the square, it's always busy and the wanes are awesome. Patio seating, great ppl watching,

Yelp
We visited on a Sunday afternoon and had a great time! There are varieties of seating arrangements and several rooms. The customers were all happy and from a variety of different places-some local and some out of towners. The staff was accommodating and attentive. We had tastings, 5 for $10 and all additional tastings $2 each. The hostess poured generously and made fabulous suggestions. Make sure you sample the port. Even if you aren't a port-person. Score a Napa cab also. *if you like my reviews or find them helpful, leave me a like or a comment please

Yelp
Landons Winery has outstanding wine with multiple taste options. If you like a bold dry, try the Texan, a signature cabernet, or the smoothness of a pinot noir are good options. If you prefer a sweet wine, the Yellow Rose or Red Rose are comparable with the sweetest moscatos. Now if you would be interested in a desert wine, the Raspberry or the Chocolate Finale are amazing. They serve a mix of the Raspberry & Chocolate Finale called the Cherry Cordial, you will never forget it. The atmosphere at Landons is really good for celebrations or just meeting a friend. I almost hate to share my opinion on this, I like many things about Landons, don't even say charcuterie... There is also a wine club membership with special discounts for members. Come by on "Wine Down Wednesday" for a very nice special on your favorite bottle and bring a friend!

Yelp
I have never in my life been treated so poorly by staff. The attitude and lack of respect was completely unprofessional. Additionally a bartender came to yell (yes, yell) at my group for trying to push 2 tables together while she wasn't wearing a mask??????? My group and I ended up leaving shortly and refusing to give our business any longer. We went to a winery down the street briefly told them what happened at Landon and the bartender at the new winery said, "well, unfortunately that's not the first bad thing I've heard about the staff there." This place obviously has a major problem with staff and lack of professionalism. There's other great wineries close by that have good wine and good staff. I definitely recommend going to another winery.

Therese H.

Yelp
This is a help yourself winery. Bar staff was not helpful. Did not introduce you to their wine selection. We were doing a tasting and had to go in and out to get our tastings. We also noticed no was clearing tables.
google avatar

Beryl D.

Yelp
I am a part of their wine club. The wine is so good! There is a nice variety. I especially love how your membership allows you to pick various types of wines every other month. It is affordable and you get invites to the wine pick up party. So good, that every time I bring a guest, they join. The food that they serve is also very delicious pairs well with their wines at their pick up parties. A great val

Yelp
Cute little spot with nice patio. I had the frozen sangria and margarita wine. It was really good but very overpriced- would not get again based on price.

Yelp
Amazing service at Landon Winery! The wine was fabulous as usual! Enjoyed the new Cab Franc Bourbon Barrel Reserve. All the wait staff were so attentive and made our evening very enjoyable!

Yelp
Never a bad day at Landon's. The wine is the best around and the service is always amazing. Our go to winery in McKinney.

Yelp
Mckinney has amazing customer service, the wine is excellent! We love the patio and especially the amazing staff! Jen, Katie, Shawn and the whole crew.

Yelp
Yummy wine slushees! Such a fun atmosphere! Nice time spent with friends and family AND to-go cups to carry around McKinney!
