Lands of Origin was definitely the highlight of my trip to Pike's Place this year! I started off with a Moroccan Lamb roll, Jamaican Chicken bun/pastry, and one of those little egg custard pies (tarts?). The lamb roll was wonderfully crunchy on the outside, tender on the inside, and perfectly spiced/seasoned but not spicy! The chicken bun was mildly spicy but very enjoyable, even for a weenie like me 😂
All three items were delicious, warm, and fresh, but the lamb roll was so particularly good that I had to go back and buy FOUR more of them! The vendor was kind enough to reserve them for me in the kitchen until just before they closed, so I wouldn't have to carry them all day. Like many of the vendors at the market they're too small to offer seating, but benches and tables are abundant in and around the market!
They keep very well- I refrigerated them when I got home, then the next day I packed them in my suitcase and flew them across the country with me to share with my parents! They also reheat wonderfully. I put them in the microwave for a few short bursts to knock the chill out of the filling, then put them in the toaster oven to get the breading crunchy again. The air fryer also worked for crunchiness.
My only regret is not trying everything else on the menu (I missed out on some samosas and a few other things, I think)! I'm excited to visit Seattle again so I can order (at least) one of everything they have 😁
