"Open since 2003, Langdon's serves some of the best fine dining in Mount Pleasant. The dining room is set for a special night out, but it isn’t stuffy. Start with local goat cheese gnocchi or seared foie gras and then move on to a lamb ribeye or duck breast with celery root puree." - Eater Staff

Langdon’s is an absolute gem and a favorite spot for my husband and I. We dine here often, but our most recent visit for my birthday dinner with 12 guests was truly unforgettable. The ambiance at Langdon’s is always warm and elegant, setting the perfect tone for both intimate dinners and larger celebrations. Eric R., one of my favorite waiters, made the experience even more exceptional. His attention to detail, friendly demeanor, and impeccable service ensured that everything flowed seamlessly. He has a way of making guests feel welcome and cared for, which is why we always look forward to seeing him when we dine here. The food was, as always, phenomenal. Each dish was beautifully presented and full of flavor, leaving all my guests raving about their meals. Langdon’s consistently exceeds our expectations, and the combination of the incredible staff, especially Eric R., and the outstanding food keeps us coming back. Whether it’s a casual dinner or a special celebration, Langdon’s always delivers an unforgettable experience. Highly recommend!

Langdons Restaurant is on the expensive side ... yet, eating here is worth saving for! The moment you enter, you realize it's not your average restaurant. Reception is flawless, seating at the table quickly. The waiting staff, formally dressed, attentive, polite and present for every guest. I can't do justice by just describing the food - our New York strips were tender, well-cooked and flavorful. The desserts - well, a perfect finish to the evening.

Google
Absolutely amazing! Adam our server was awesome and very knowledgeable! The hostesses were very welcoming! The bone in ribeye, the wine suggestions from Adam, the green beans, whipped potatoes, soft shell crab, and the wedge salad were all absolutely perfect!! I don’t think you can go wrong here and would come back regularly if I lived here. If I had one complaint at all was the bartender could have been more friendly, but we all have bad days. Great job overall!

Google
Great Service, Food, and Atmosphere. I normally go for the steak at most restaurants but, decided to try the porkchop at Langdon's. I highly recommend. Super friendly staff makes this restaurant a 10 out of 10. I can't remember our servers name but he will be the tallest guy in the restaurant, he was awesome!

Google
I made the mistake of not securing a reservation for Valentine's Day. When I called, of course they were booked, but the hostess was kind enough to tell me that the bar had 12 seats, and they opened at 5:00 with 1st come, 1st serve. We showed up at 5:00 and got a seat at the bar. Tate was our bartender, did a fantastic job with our drinks, and made us feel at home. He was busy but made sure we had what we needed, as well kept our drink full. There was plenty of parking with handicap parking available. The outside appearance was nice, and the landscape was kept up nice. The interior was clean as well as the bathrooms. Glasses, plates, and silverware were all clean. The food was phenomenal!! I had Beef Tartare and Duck Breast both for the first time and was amazingly delicious. I will be back, and I do recommend this restaurant. Thanks for the great first-time experience.

Google
Very disappointed this time. Been going here for years. The staff is always friendly and kind. However, the food this time was less than average. When you are paying 48.00 for a steak you don't expect to get the butt end of the steak. It should be a center cut...always! I asked for medium well and it came out bloody and medium rare, because the butt end of the steak is a tough part to cook correctly. Therefore, shouldn't be served to a paying guest. Though the asparagus was very good the potatoes were ice cold. I've been hearing some less than impressive reviews and was hoping it was just a once in a chance, hoping this is not their new normal.

Langdon's is the perfect balance of exquisite food and excellent service in a comfortable, upscale atmosphere. The waitstaff are passionate about the food and make the experience even more enjoyable.

Google
I really enjoyed dinner here. Service was great, server was attentive and the manager walked around as well. We tried the steak with lobster and the duck breast. There was a soft shell crab over polenta appetizer special going on, so we tried that too. Very delicious! Great ambiance for a romantic or celebratory dinner.

Yelp
This was a great place to enjoy dinner in Mt Pleasant. We arrived without a reservation; however, they were able to seat our 2 top easily. Our server Israel was extremely professional and gave us great recommendations. All the appetizers were wonderful. The duck meatballs were juicy and hearty. All the mushrooms that came with the dish were wonderful and had great texture. I could have had another appetizers they were so wonderful. The Tagliatelle was a bit spicy but nonetheless delicious. The filet was a bit peppery but had great char and balance. The restaurant decor is simple but classic for a steak place. Great wooden bar with bar high tops for guests like us with no reservation. It was quickly filled and buzzing with people we loved the energy of the restaurant. Not to mention great wine options which is hard to find a place with great food and a good wine lists. We'll be back again for sure!

Yelp
Came to celebrate dad's 60th birthday. The expectation was high and Langdons was a notch above. We got the anchovy salad, and split the Shrimp (and grits), along with the porkchop (also pictured). All were amazing. Dad got the tomahawk steak which was incredible as well. Our server was great, politely helping with libations throughout the night and had answers for all of our questions. The ambiance was perfect for what we were looking for. 10/10 night

Yelp
Food 4: Steak was good but not great. Service 5: Waiter was right on top of everything. Ambiance 2: There is none. I have eaten in Army messhalls that were quieter. Had to shout across the two person table for my wife to hear me. Need to install some sound attuning materials to absorb the noise in the store front facility.

Brian C.

Yelp
The Hungry Detective loves this spot AKA: The Halls of Mt Pleasant!!! The wreck fish was cooked to perfection and the filet was better than Hall's. Tate did a fabulous job pairing the wine. VERDICT: Guilty as sin for doing all right!!!

William E.

Yelp
Last evening was my first time dining at this established restaurant. They seating was promptly at our reserved time and the restaurant was completely filled with patrons. However, the acoustics absorbed the peripheral sounds and we talked without any annoyance....what a pleasure as many of today's eating places are pleasure cancelling noisy. Our server was very professional yet friendly and attentive to our needs (meaning we did not need ask for ice tea refills). My wife had a wonderful cut of Tenderloin and I enjoyed the Tagliatelle with Bolognese Sauce. We will return soon in order to try other entrees. And, the bar is very enticing.

Suzanne H.

Yelp
This a great place to go and have a great meal. The ambiance is a bit romantic. Sitting at a table at the bar you will always get great service. Try the Just Peachy or a dirty martini. You can't go wrong with either choice. The shrimp or pork chop you will be delighted. I do something change my sides option but all is good whichever you choose.

Tracy H.

Yelp
Food was wonderful! Our waiter was wonderful but I felt like he was hustling so much and could have used a little more help ..it felt slightly understaffed.

Molly G.

Yelp
Top tier Charleston cuisine. An underrated Charleston steak option. Food is great. Service is great. Ambiance at Halls (downtown) is slightly preferred.

Sarah H.

Yelp
First time here and it won't be the last. The server gave great recommendations, the food was so amazing we all got dessert too! Great wine and cocktails and the ambiance was perfect for a girls night out.

Rafael A.

Yelp
Loved everything about Langdon's. The food was delicious and the service outstanding. Great vibe inside, good parking lot outside. It was a little bit pricey but worth it. I'm definitely coming back. Perfect for business and special occasions.

Latasha B.

Yelp
Wonderful experience and great service! Eric provided great service along with great recommendations. We were here as our year end holiday dinner. It was an excellent choice. We ordered lots of things to try and were pleased with everything. We ordered a bottle of rosé, beer, and a dessert cocktail to cover all of the bases. Great selection and everyone found something they liked. For appetizers we tried the Gnocchi, the shrimp, Oysters Rockefeller. Then we ordered salads, and the soup of the day which was a broccoli and bacon soup. So good! Then for the meal we ordered the filet and the daily offering of fish which was a grouper if my memory serves me correctly. Oh yeah we had the chocolate cake for dessert. They had me a coffee ice cream and toffee! Yum. This is definitely a place I will return to, but you know the rotation list is long. So it may take a minute for another check in...but it's coming.

Christine L.

Yelp
Came here for a birthday dinner and although this place displays many awards, the food didn't seem to live up to the expectations. The waitstaff that support the main waiters were very attentive and helpful. There were some hiccups with our dinner such as receiving less oysters than requested, wine glasses being taken even though we'd ordered a bottle for the table, and the steak lacked seasoning. Personally, I wasn't a fan of the sauce ordered (butter base), so I was hoping that the steak was good on its own, but unfortunately it disappointed especially for the price.

Yelp
Going to be in Mt Pleasant splurge and make a reservation at Langdon's, it is worth every penny!! Langdon's is my go to restaurant that is always on point and has a fantastic menu! Been here several times over the years and nock on wood I never experienced a bad meal here with anyone! Love the Wedge Salad for starters! My go to Entrée is the 9oz Filet with whipped potatoes and asparagus, I add on the Béarnaise sauce for the Filet!! Phenomenal Filet at Langdon's!! Langdon's always consistently impressed me and they easily get 5 Stars !!

Alyssa C.

Yelp
Food was 5 star. Service was 1 star. Absolutely HORRENDOUS. We showed up for our reservation promptly at 8:30 and waited 20 minutes to be seated. They kept telling us they were setting glasses. We could see the empty table and silverware but the servers were lazy and refused to move. They said you could get a drink at the bar. We tried to get a drink and the bartenders standing in front of us were 2 men gossiping completely ignoring our presence. So rude. Our server was also not attentive. We had to waive her down for bread, water, drink refills and any other request bc she never checked in. Don't recommend if you're in the area. You'd be better off at a Chili's.

Tom C.

Yelp
Our first time at Langdon's and food and service were great. I have dined all over the US and a bit of Europe and this is the first restaurant to hit me with a "C C fee*" of 3.5%. I asked the server what this was about and as suspected from the code, it is a 3,5% surcharge if you pay by credit card. She said they would remove it if you paid with cash. Langdon's is an upscale, fairly expensive restaurant and I'm sure with their prices they could absorb the credit card fee like 99.9% of other restaurants do. This was a "downer" at the end of a pleasant dining experience. Apparently, this fee did mot bother others as the restaurant was full on a Wednesday evening.

J D.

Yelp
We have lived her for 5 years. This is the BEST meal we have ever had. The service was impeccable and the ambiance was excellent! Please order the oysters rockefeller. Enjoy!!!

Ara A.

Yelp
First time here and and it's much smaller than I expected. Definitely need a reservation if you want a table. Started with the duck meatballs with grits and they were ok, good options. I had the lamb chops med rare but they were slightly overcooked as the came out more on the medium side. The flavor was excellent with the potatoes they come with was exquisite. The duck breast was excellent.

June G.

Yelp
We decided to go to Langdon's for Mother's Day, and it did NOT disappoint. I like to think of Langdon's as a much more chill Hall's Chophouse. Our server got strait to the point and was very educated in the questions we asked him. I got the fillet and it was impeccable. The mashed potatoes were silky and the spinach tasted like it was homemade. Like I said earlier, the vibe and feel of Langdon's was super low key and was not stressful. The lights were not fluorescent and the seating was no crowded. I will never go to another fancy steak place again after my stay at Langdon's!

Matthew F.

Yelp
Used to love this place and had a horrible experience last visit where I can't convince myself to come back. Service didn't exist Waited 1.5 hours for my food All food came out at different times No apologies for the experience Provided feedback to the business directly and they didn't acknowledge it. Many other great spots in Mount P that keep customer first.

Philip S.

Yelp
Excellent meal. Perfectly cooked steaks. The Sautéed Shrimp was very good. Great service. Good wine & liquor list. Plenty of parking. Will definitely be back.

Kamille H.

Yelp
Excellent for a nice dinner. I dined in with my wife to celebrate my birthday. I feel like if there's duck on the menu I have to order it? I'm glad I did (please excuse the very poor photo quality, the lighting was very dim). My wife added lobster to her steak which was also delicious. Our server was attentive and timely. Very glad we chose here to end our time in Charleston.

Summer M.

Yelp
Amazing oysters to start. Loved the atmosphere. We went for our anniversary! Excellent food and service! I will be recommending to friends.

Ali R.

Yelp
The food and service were outstanding! My filet was a 10/10! I also had a crab cake on the side that was hands down the best crab cake I've ever eaten. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious meal. You will not be disappointed.

Cindy A.

Yelp
The service, ambiance and food are always exceptionally good. This is one of my favorite restaurants in Mt Pleasant.

Cindy B.

Yelp
Let's start with the starters. Best oyster Rockefeller in town. We shared that with a dozen raw which were slurpalicios! The soup was amazing filling tomato bisque with crab. Our table ordered these entrees. Soft shell crab, gnocchi, strip steak prepared per chefs recommendation and a filet. Steaks were out standing! We all had a dessert crème brûlée, fruit crumble, chocolate cake and everyone enjoyed every morsel. This is a wonderful place for a fabulous meal in Mt. Pleasant. Drinks are well made and the wine list is extensive.

Jan S.

Yelp
We have ALWAYS loved Langdons! We have suggested Langdons to many, many people over the years. We are shocked at how much it has lost its way! Food mediocre (salmon dish-slopped in a bowl) -this is fine dining? So sweet to sometimes enjoy as a couple @the bar for dinner. Our bartender was indifferent and not interested in sharing any specials on the menu. Sorry we bothered...

Candyce V.

Yelp
We chose Langdon's to celebrate my dad's birthday, and my family was truly satisfied. The service was wonderful from the time we walked in. We were not only offered a champagne toast for my dad, but they also brought out a dessert for him. Our server was amazing. And everyone enjoyed their meals--and it's hard to please many tastes (especially when your dad and brother are excellent in the kitchen). Well done!

Julia R.

Yelp
I enjoyed a fabulous lunch at Langdon's today. Langdon's is a high end restaurant, but the lunch prices aren't too bad. I started with a glass of sparkling, and a glass of water. For my meal, I chose the salad with peaches and added shrimp. My friend had the Shrimp and grits (minus the grits), and it was absolutely delicious. The zucchini that were served with the shrimp were perfectly cooked, and even better with the sauce! I would definitely return to Langdon's again for a nice lunch.

Justin M.

Yelp
Award winning for a reason. Chef Owen is creative w/ his dishes and the flavors are simply amazing. Great wine too. Tagliatelle is outstanding & duck meatballs are phenomenal. A Mt P Must!

Ryan C.

Yelp
The food and desserts here are next level! Service is fantastic, and it has a chill yet elegant ambiance. It's my new favorite restaurant!

Teresa F.

Yelp
First class everything. Service, wine list, ingredients, attention to detail. One of Mt Pleasant's very finest dining options for lunch or dinner. Love their quick lunch option (a great bargain). Steak, local fish, handmade pastas, and pork chops as well as fantastic desserts are stand outs for us. Don't hesitate to ask for a wine pairing here. We always leave happy- even during difficult times. Currently- they are only open for dinner but also offer take out.

Tommy M.

Yelp
Fabulous meal!! Many thanks for a wonderful evening!!! From the caviar to my A-5 Wagyu and great service this was a super evening with friends. They ordered tile fish and duck which were perfectly prepared

Luis F.

Yelp
We went to Langdon's for anniversary dinner. Service was attentive and caring of the special event. Food was ok but it did not wow and missed expectations given $$$$ menu. I had high expectations and maybe is on me but for the price I will try other spots.

Michael M.

Yelp
Langdon's has been one of my favorite places to go for a special dinner, and we had a great night here for my birthday. The dark and romantic atmosphere is perfect, and the cozy booth was even better. Our service was professional and on point all night. I like the menu at Langdon's and find a good mix for different tastes (seafood, pastas, beef, etc.) can be hard to decide. Tonight we enjoyed goat cheese gnocchi & a seasonal crude as an appetizer. Then a baby arugula salad with caramelized pears, goat cheese, topped with a smoky bacon-shallot vinaigrette. I had the hearty steak & shrimp special. Langdon's is an elegant location to go with your better half, and enjoy a sophisticated menu you want and deserve.

Betty M.

Yelp
We had 8 people at our table and every aspect of our dinner was amazing!! Let's start with the fabulous waiter Israel who resembled (Mark Rufalo) ! A gentleman and very attentive. We were not an easy group to work with as we were a bit buzzed when we arrived but truly appreciate the great service! I had the Hawaiian Tuna and it was truly outstanding and my husband had the Lamb Chops and again... outstanding!! Wonderful place and if we are ever in Charleston again, we will be back

Leo L.

Yelp
Great dinner tonight. First time here visiting from out of town. We are foodies so our travels are usually around good food cities. Was concerned it was going to be a tourist trap but boy was I wrong!. The flavors and taste of our food were amazing. Had Beef Tartare to start and was well worth it. We had the Pork Chop and Duck for dinner from the menu. This was a great choice as the flavors, seasoning abd spices were great!. Dessert was the Hot Chocolate Cake and obviously you can't go wrong with that if you love chocolate. Overall a great atmosphere, great service and amazing food.

Warren N.

Yelp
main Course came an hr after appetizers. I Asked the server how long it was sitting and he said it just came up.... bull****.. it was lukewarm.... and the pork chop was mostly fat.. very Unfortunate.. was really looking forward to a fine meal in a fine dining place like this..

Olga Z.

Yelp
Outstanding food and atmosphere!! Rockefeller oysters, duck meatballs, tartar, chef's special Crudo and corn soup were delish!! Dry aged and fillet were cooked perfectly. Don't skip dessert-their brûlée, warm chocolate cake and freshly baked chocolate chip cookies were amazing!! Our waitress Lisa was awesome!! Highly recommended for special occasion, family gatherings, romantic dinner or just because...we will be back!!

Tricia N.

Yelp
What a cozy and comfortable restaurant with a select but yummy menu! It might be easy to pass up this wonderful place located in an outdoor mall, but it is clearly a destination for locals. The menu focuses on seafood, but other options are available. The Oyster Rockefeller were fantastic and cooked perfectly. The salmon dish was cooked just as I requested and served with a unique cucumber salad. Be sure to save room for dessert! Gelato and Sorbet are a perfect ending to a wonderful meal. If you visit Charleston, go beyond the touristy places and head to this great restaurant!

Makyla J.

Yelp
The atmosphere was great! Food was 10/10 -- you must try the Oyster Rockefeller!!! Our service was also very kind. We will be back!

Laura H.

Yelp
Service was incredibly slow and food was mediocre at best. I can't believe we spent $200 on a meal from this restaurant.

Marty D.

Yelp
I hadn't dined at Langdon's in years. Until today. Two friends booked a lunch reservation and invited me. I arrived at 11:20 a.m.10 minutes before restaurant opened. Ruby was kind enough to hang my coat and stow my umbrella. Brandi showed me to my booth. Langdon's atmosphere and aesthetics are beyond impressive! The interior decor and ambiance remind me of "power" restaurants near the infamous "K Street" lobbyist row I frequented during my decades in Washington, D.C. where I was a network radio and TV news anchor. My gracious server Charis brought three menus. I was the sole diner perusing the menu until my friends showed up at 11:30. The next time my eyes scanned the restaurant it was packed with diners. Charis brought us water and lemon. She expertly ran through the lunch specials. As is my custom I implored Charis for her menu recommendations, and after she discovered my preferences, I ordered the recommended salmon with rice and cucumber salad. Charis is one of the finest servers I have had the pleasure of encountering. Anywhere. From DC to NYC. Professional, personable, knowledgeable. Her timing was impeccable. The food: In a word, amazing! I failed to get the talented chef's name. My salmon dish was exquisite. My friend's soup looked divine. The wedge salad was mouth-watering. However the pièce de résistance was Crème Brûlée. One of my friends has tried them all in Charleston. Pronounced Langdon's the best by far. She was spot on! When it came time to pay my bill discovered my bank card missing. I'd slid the card into a back pocket of the denim skirt i was wearing the day before. I'd put the skirt into my clothes washer and the card must have slipped out. Langdon's accommodating manager Tim allowed me to write a check! Wow! To quote Arnold Schwarzenegger in TheTerminator: "I'll be back." Postscript: I found my bank card on top of my washing machine.

B M.

Yelp
Celebrating our 20th anniversary we were searching for a really nice (tablecloth) restaurant to have a romantic dinner! We found Langdon's . Pro tip: Make a reservation! We arrived (no reservation) and was greeted by the hostess with the news of "sorry there are no tables available... would you like to sit at the bar"? No, we would like a table for this celebration. She was very accommodating and stated they will have a table in about 2 hours would you like to go on the waiting list, we agreed. Within an hour we were seated to enjoy the offerings of Langdon's. Our waiter (Israel) was great with sharing specials and made us feel welcomed. The food was seasoned well, cooked to temperature, and presented well. This is a special quaint place with really good food! Don't forget your wallet you will need it for this experience!

Ira H.

Yelp
We we to Langdons to celebrate out anniversary the entire experience was phenomenal. Our server ( do no remember her name) was equal amounts of personable, knowledgeable and attentive and she seemed truly excited about making sure we enjoyed our meal. The drinks were perfect, the oysters, we had raw and chefs special were on point. We both had steaks, my wife the NY strip and I had the Kansas dry aged strip, both were as good as any prime steakhouse we've been to. Desert which is usually an issue for me, I mentioned my issue to our server and as simple of a gesture as it was, she bought out something that I was able to have, a very personal touch. Being a transplanted NYer I still order Sambuca ( black) and a double espresso....the espresso came with a lemon peel ( as it should) and the sambuca complete with 3 coffee beans ( also as it should). As I already said a great experience overall

Brian K.

Yelp
The absolute best gnocchi I've had. Great service. Friendly atmosphere and steaks that are competitive with any in the state.

Jessica L.

Yelp
Y'all this is a terrible story.... My aunt and uncle made a reservation for their 50th wedding anniversary at their favorite restaurant, Landon's. My uncle just had major knee surgery, so in addition to being their anniversary it was also one of his first times out of the house since surgery. It was a very important night so they knew Langdon's was a safe bet for a perfect evening. When they arrived they were told that there was no reservation for them. Even though my aunt had a screen shot of the reservation confirmation on Resy (the only way to make a reservation online). The hostess said "oh yea we've been having trouble with Resy for weeks now" . Literally the least helpful thing she could have said Anyway, after a quite a bit of back and forth they were told that they can make a place at the sister restaurant Opal. So they paid for another Uber to go to yet another restaurant. The food was ok, but do you know how they chose to "make it up" to my aunt and uncle? Two glasses of sparkling wine and a scoop of ice-cream with a candle in it. As if to say "sorry for your luck... here is the bare minimum we can do to commemorate this dinner that is 50 years in the making" I typically wouldn't post about this, but poor service is a HUGE no no in my book. In addition to the negligence in knowing your reservation service wasn't working and not doing anything about it. I worked for several years at an upscale Charleston restaurant, and we would have acknowledged our mistake and made it work. If you screw up, you don't make the customer deal with it, you fix it. When people are spending their money and coming to you to celebrate important life events, huge effort needs to go into making the experience perfect. Good food is only a part of that equation. No more Langdon's for me, and probably a lot of other people

Arlene H.

Yelp
We were so eager to try Langdons, since everyone seems to love it. We were a party of six on a Sunday evening. ALL of us were deeply disappointed. We found the service to be slow and surly. I know that all restaurants are having staffing problems, but our server was milling around, and generally inattentive. We received our meals, and the food was good, but we expected to be bowled over, and we were not. One in our party flagged down the server to tell him that the lamb was not cooked as requested. The server ARGUED with him! Our meal finished, we ordered dessert. It took 30 minutes for our Crème Brûlée to arrive. We had coffee, and requested a check. Much to our chagrin, there was a 3.5 % credit card use surcharge! It is my opinion that we should have been informed of this. All in all, it was not the fine dining experience that we expected. We won't be going back.

Rachel A.

Yelp
We were told by locals that the best steak house in charleston wasn't actually in charleston. It was in a strip mall in Mt Pleasant. Ok...we'll try it I guess but...yeah right. Honestly, this is the best steak house in charleston. We were shocked. The bourbon foie butter sauce is ridiculous and the cast iron skillet seared steaks are second to none in the city. This is coming from a chef and foodie. Try this place and be shocked by the quality and level of service. Also, the absolute best creme brûlée that we've had in a decade. Very impressed!

PM F.

Yelp
We've been dining at Langdon's for several years. Tonight the service was awful, the food was mediocre (except for the soup) and the bartender gets an F for cocktail mixing 101.
