Langley Castle looms up infront of you when you turn the corner on approach. It was absolutely everything you think of as a castle when you were a young child. Square with towers. Walking into Reception you knew you were entering something really special and made you feel very special. ||Our room was a castle view room and it was very regal, big comfortable bed, big bathroom. The one thing I noticed bizarrely was the water pressure was brilliant. The bath, shower etc all worked and once again spacious. Really fresh towels, shampoo, conditioner and body soap. Everything you needed was supplied. Very clean. Iron and board. Hair dryer in the drawers. The room was very spacious. Air conditioning in current weather was a welcome relief! ||The Drawing Room upstairs was comfy and full of history and decorated in keeping with times gone by. You must sit in the window seat set into the wall. It was nice to sit in here and have a drink and take in the history on the walls. Such a calm place to relax with your loved one. ||The castle is known for its evening meal, fine dining. If you dressed up for this event you would not look out of place. Choice. The evening starts with a drink in the Drawing Room ( not on the house), choose your menu choices, I found it hard as all choices were lovely, had good advice from gentleman in a suit(sorry didn’t get his name) on what to choose and answered any questions with confidence. Choose your drinks you want at the table. In the dining room all this is being prepared while having your drinks upstairs. ||When ready they come and collect you and take you to your table. The dining room is another impressive room. The waiting staff very professional and made you feel very special and nothing was too much. Thank you to them. I won’t say much as I don’t want to ruin anyone’s experience. But what I can say, it truly was one of the best dining experiences I have had. Worth every penny spent and well worth doing. A great memory. ||Breakfast was waiter service and once again perfect. After breakfast we waited in the Drawing Room for a trip up to the top of the castle and see the beautiful Northumbrian countryside views. Very good tour and informative of the history of the castle. Very interesting. ||The only negative, after your tour they tell you to go visit the grave of the couple who originally built the castle, situated behind the yurt that’s outside. We went and sadly the grave is very unkempt and the steps up |overgrown and dangerous. It would be nice to see this restored so people can safely see it. ||Other than the above, Langley Castle is everything and more. A perfect venue for a surprise and to treat that someone special. I would whole heartedly recommend this to anyone. We will definitely be back as we visit that area a lot. Thanks to all the staff, without their warm welcome and service Langley wouldn’t be so wonderful.
