老山东肉骨茶 Lao San Tong Bak Kut Teh

I dined at a local bak kut teh restaurant that has been opened for a very long time and was thoroughly impressed by both the food and the service after i havent been back for 4 years!!The broth was rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced—deep herbal notes without being overwhelming. The pork ribs were tender and fell off the bone, and every accompanying dish, from the yau char kueh to the steamed rice, was fresh and well-prepared. What made the experience even better was the exceptional service. The staff were warm, attentive, and quick to offer recommendations. They frequently checked in to ensure everything was to our liking, yet never felt intrusive. The atmosphere was cozy, clean, and welcoming, making it a great spot for both casual meals and gatherings with family or friends. Overall, this place serves one of the best bak kut teh experiences I’ve had in a long time. Highly recommended for anyone craving authentic flavors paired with top-notch hospitality.

This bak kut teh shop is conveniently across the road from the 2 temples we went to. The banner says Michelin guide Penang 2023 & 2024. Decided to give it a go. Service was wonderful and the server who took our order patiently explained how to order. Best part is, the bak kut teh is fully customisable! 🤩 First, the drink came. Can taste the barley fragrance, not sweet - refreshing! The bak kut teh has a distinct herbal soup taste and is "gao". The portions of the ingredients is considered generous, yam rice was nice and full of yam! Servers will come by and add soup for u automatically. Highly recommend if you like herbal taste claypot style BKT!

Food was good! The herbal soup was not overpowering which was to our liking. Their svs was good too. Staff was patient in explaining what their BKT serving consisted of. My took along his sugarcane drink after we paid the bill. A staff went up to him and asked if he could offer him a cover for his drink. He also gave him a new straw. So thankful for such biz that pays little details on customers 👍🏼

The Bak kut teh here so delicious that why get 2 year 2023 and 2024 Michelin awards. The staff no need said , super nice and friendly. I reach late at nearly 10pm closing but still entertain me . Thanks so much for this staff so I can have my dinner here tonight for my 1st time at here

Very good meal. The herbal taste is intense . Something I can’t find in singapore. Yumz!
