Lao Sze Chuan

Had a great experience! I came with a group of 20 but the food came out nearly immediately or at least I credibly quickly. The waiters were incredibly attentive and came by to ask us how our food was and to refill our waters many times. The food was delicious, it looked delicious, and the portions were very good. There is a good variety for everyone and there are vegetarian friendly options. The restaurant has a very luxurious atmosphere but their prices aren't even that steep. They have private rooms that can seat around 10-ish each and are good places for groups to be seated as they are enclosed. My group of twenty split into two rooms but the wall between them was opened so we could freely talk and walk between them too. Overall, I had a very pleasant experience with my friends and the waiters were very amiable.

The Peking duck is very nice. Just the pancake wrap is a bit too “sticky”. But the duck itself is really good. The dishes are relatively authentic. Service is excellent. Waiters are very helpful and nice. It is not the American style of service - just asking ‘everything ok?’ Instead, they observed quietly to see what the customers need. The atmosphere is nice too.

Food was very mediocre for the pricing. Even though the flavor wasn’t bad, it wasn’t very good. What really made me question the authenticity of this restaurant was the French fries on the grilled fish (烤鱼). If this was in China, this will earn you life imprisonment for topping grilled fish with French fries 🙃🙃🙃(photo attached for proof). Service was great and interior was clean and very well designed, but I won’t be back.

Wow you MUST come for the weekend dumplings. We came around 12 on a Saturday and the place was empty. We received excellent service and the food came out quickly. We were there just for the dim sum and it did not disappoint! The dumplings and buns were reminiscent of those we’ve had in Hawaii. Very nicely executed and absolutely delicious. My favorite was the black phoenix bun, but be sure to order that for dessert as it’s sweet. We also loved the spicy pork and the shrimp. We received a free appetizer for ordering at least 4 dumplings so we went for the scallion pancake. I couldn’t stop raving about the food afterward. We’ll definitely be back for another round of dim sum soon! Very beautiful and fancy restaurant!

I asked why there was no winter melon in the winter melon soup, and they said it was made with winter melon juice. (That's not how authentic Chinese food is made!) The worst part was the fish! Over $40, it was incredibly fishy. It was inedible. While it looked like Chinese fish, But it tasted very fishy. I've never had such terrible fish!

Came to celebrate my birthday, the portion of the food is huge, The truffle fried riceis perfect, I just wish there will be more meat and the cold noodle be more salty and spicy (with a little vinegar

A foodie’s find of a delightful authentic traditional Chinese food in Cleveland. The atmosphere was pleasant.The food was delicious, don’t skip the sweet and sour Tilapia and Crab Xiao Long Bao, best ever!! And also the Peking duck and lychee martini!! Highly Recommended!!

Finally got out to trying this place in Pinecrest. Very large space with lots of tables. Definitely above a casual setting but not too fancy. We ordered dimsum and a lamb dish. Both were classically good. Our waiter was Grayson and he was super sweet, fun, and personable. Coming back next time to try something new!
