Im so excited this place reopened again. They closed it for permits of construction. I, and my friends have tried all of the Afghan restaurants within these months in Sacramento none of them were authentic, fresh as LAPIS GRILL. Recently, we came here again and tried the Uzbek palaw and chapli kabab. It was amazingly fresh, delicious, and real as original. The best kebab and Uzbek Palav. The best customer service. Best price for the portions. The food is very fresh and cooks daily. I recommend this place for those who really care about the freshness and taste of the food. Thanks, Lapis Grill. Keep the hard work. Again, They have the best Peshawari chapli kabab and they best Uzbek palaw from real fresh beef and none frozen and left overs like other places.

The chicken kabob is the best in town and probably the best I’ve eaten. Well seasoned, moist and flavorful. It’s made with thigh meat so it’s not dry and overcooked like breast meat can be. The side sauce it comes with is so good too. My husband loves everything they make. Seems family operated and staff are friendly.

Crazy mixed feelings walking into this restaurant. Feelings as if we traveled to a different country. Not much of an atmosphere or ambiance. Very limited menu with a handful of Uzbek/afghan dishes. Service was inviting and friendly. Complimentary hot tea was Delightful. Food was amazing. Large portions and affordable. I would order take out next time. I understand sometimes dressing up a family owed business can be costly....I truly recommend it for this restaurant. It will pay back.

Top quality food! Each time we visit, the food is always fresh, the tasty kabobs are freshly made to order, and the Uzbeki pallaw is freshly made twice a day! Portions are fulfilling and you get what you pay for! Reasonable prices! Employees are also very kind and provide excellent service! We visit from Tracy, and totally worth the hour and a half drive to Carmicheal. Hands down, the only Authentic Afghani food our family will eat outside of our own home. Reminds you of the traditional Uzbeki pallaw and kabobs freshly made back home in Afghanistan. FIVE STARS, hands down.

New spot to Carmichael definitely a new hot spot! I order their beef kabob plate to go & they are absolutely to die for ! Super juicy & you can taste the quality. Seasoning is super good & portion are definitely worth the money!

The food at Lapis Grill is hands down the best! The meat is incredibly juicy and flavorful. I took my family, and we all had a fantastic experience. We will definitely be returning again. Highly recommended!

Phenomenal food, super friendly people...a hidden gem. Lamb chops were succulent, chicken has an incredible marinade with honey/mustard and chili sauces on the side. Grilled in the parking lot while the family served complimentary tea - we'll definitely be back!

Ambiance- this is a true "hole in the wall" and originally we had trouble finding the place. It's small and feels authentic. Service- was quick and everyone was very kind and friendly. We ordered the palaw and lamb tiki kebab. Food- was outstanding. Not heavy, very flavorful and the lamb meat was cooked to absolute perfection. I'm gluten free and this was a delicious meal. I would never have stopped here on my own, given the little building doesn't look like a restaurant but the food was great! Real authentic Aphgani food!

This was an extremely tasty place, my wife and I had the Shepherds Kabab (chupan), which is just pieces of sheep/lamb with salt. We also had the lamb tikka, which was little grilled lamb chops that had a very slight marinade. It was delicious, served over barbari style bread with a bit of salad. The place itself is cozy and the people serving there were very attentive and helpful. We will definitely be going back with friends to introduce them to some genuine Afghani kabab!

Hidden gem! Very tasty Uzbek Halal food. We ordered lamb kebab and it was very good! (I'm already wanting to go back for more as I'm posting this). They served us warm mint tea(?) for free. It's not a quick food place, but the food is worth the wait. There is no menu inside, so just ask what they have today (or menu was on Google map photo). Staff were very polite and friendly. Looking forward to going back to try other dish!

The food here is absolutely delicious and the food is top notch. We had the lamb kabob and the meat was tender and flavorful. It came with Afghan bread, lettuce, onions, grilled tomato and grilled jalapeño. We got it to go and it took about 10 minutes or so. Will definitely be back!

I've been a handful of times. Usually it hits, but last night was a miss. Out of chicken? Really? It was 7pm. Also their bread has been hard and stale for the last two weeks. Why? I wish halal places would retain their quality. Please Keep the food fresh. Bread needs to be fresh, include peppers , onions, fresh grilled tomatoes on stock. We come because we love your food, don't make us stop coming. Please
