Google
It’s a lovely icecreams parlour. Nice ambience and good variety of tasty icecreams. They have handcrafted, "super-premium" ice cream made with high-quality ingredients. We tried the Hawaiian Sea Salt Caramel: Hawaii pink salted caramel fudge in sweet cream and Praline Pecan: Southwestern-style pecans in a caramel cream. These were good. Nice sorbets too. Seating is nice. Closes around 8.30 pm

Google
Great ice cream and sorbet flavors. It really tastes great. Usually busy but I find that after 7pm the crowd usually dies down. If you are in the area this is a must have Flavors occasionally rotate, so if they don’t have your flavor you might have to check another day. I wish they had Mango Sorbet in stock more often

Google
Green tea ice cream in waffle cone did the trick for me on a hot day. Cool down on a bench by the water and grass, with a book maybe. I found a nice spot by the ferry docks. I was happy with my free waffle cone for having completed Sausalito Public Library’s adult summer reading challenge- you can do it too! It’s awesome when you can read and get additional rewards. You get 2 free samples per person before having to select your flavor. I sampled the ube macapuno and was unimpressed- it didn’t taste much like ube, maybe more like coconut. I also sampled the date casablanca, which is vanilla ice cream studded with date bits and laced with caramel trails. I think if the date flavor was more incorporated in the whole ice cream, I could’ve gone for it. I’m glad I went with green tea and would recommend this flavor. It’s not the strongest green tea ice cream I’ve had but it was enough and I wasn’t looking for too strong today anyway.

Google
Had the Kauai Pie ice cream and it’s one of the best ice cream we ever had … the flavors of the ingredients just work so well: coffee, Macadamia nuts, coconut shreds, and others. Also it’s not too sweet therefore able to enjoy the flavors. Well done! Very impressive~

Google
Worth the wait, but the waiter isn't long! The line was out the door this afternoon, but it moved swiftly. I had the Bing cherry cordial. Sorry, no photo. I began eating right away. Delicious!

Google
Honestly some of the best ice cream I've had in the bay. Tons of variety in the flavors, great texture in the ice cream, and a super nice location. Only reason this is not 5 stars is because they only allow tasting of 2 flavors and it's $7 for a single scoop. I know Sausalito is a more expensive area but that's still just absurd. With that being said though, the ice cream is fire. Worth trying out if you're ever in the area.

As a child my mom and I walked across the Golden Gate Bridge to the ice cream. I was able to 40 years later take my children and husband to the Ice Cream Polar. We took pictures of the city and loved the ice cream just as I did when I was their age. Thank you for the great experience.

Google
Stopped in today before our departure to Chicago. Hands down, best ice cream we've ever had. I had the horchata cajeta flavor and my husband the guava cheesecake flavor. Flavors were amazing and very unique. Can't wait to try again on our next visit to California!

Yelp
Ice cream with unique flavors and tropical region flavors. The single ice cream scoop is pretty large, with waffle cone, it is $7.55. Afternoon weekend has a short line. Need better organization, maybe an extension of waiting line rope since customers kept bumping into each other to grab the wooden spoons. Employees were trying to guide customers, but no one was listening and the store is quite loud. Ordered a Kauai pie which has coffee, macadamia nuts, coconut shreds. This flavor is not too swee, but does not stand out. The cone was crunchy, I believe they import cone from Italy. Overall, the store is nice. Interesting ice cream flavors, but it tastes like your standard ice cream.

Yelp
If you're in Sausalito, this classic ice cream shop is worth a visit. There was a long line when I walked past it, so I walked around for a bit before looping back...and the line was still long (so it must be popular for a reason)! I was able to sample some flavors and went with the Blueberry Cheesecake. Very creamy and reminds me of the Costco blueberry muffin in the best way. Also had a taste of the Mayor's Creation, which is a must try for espresso and chocolate lovers. We had our ice cream by the water, which was absolutely the cherry on top!

Yelp
Such a cute stop in Sausalito. I've been to the Lapperts in Honolulu so i was pleasantly surprised to see it again. Got the Chocolate Macadamia Nut with the waffle cone. The waffle cone was extremely disappointing, tasted super stale. The ice cream itself was good, I liked how generous they are with the Mac nuts, I got a crunch in every bite! This place is a cute stop as you walk along the water.

Yelp
Always see a line out the door when I'm here so finally decided to try it out. Cookie dough ice cream - the ice cream wasn't as creamy as I had hoped. The ice cream was on the icier side. The base was also bland so it relied heavily on the cookie dough and chocolate chunks. I expected more at its price point (basically $7 for a single scoop).

Yelp
Came on a Saturday and it was quite crowded. We sampled the Kona mocha chip and rose and they were kind of rushing us so we ordered that. Due to the temperature it was quickly melting, so as the ice cream was falling we grabbed a cup to save it. One staff got so angry at us that we took a cup and insisted that we pay for it. First of all, typically ice cream places offer a cup when serving in a cone, and that wasn't even an option offered to us at payment. Would have happily paid for it initially if and when it was thoughtfully asked. Look at how big the two scoops are. Anyone with basic understanding of physics would see it's necessary. Second, paying for the cup was not an issue and the way he yelled at us was really humiliating. I understand it was a crowded day but do you really have to berate someone for a couple cents? A change of tone to say "hey sorry you have to pay for that cup by the way" would have been a decent choice.

Yelp
We came in on a summer weekday afternoon. This shop is pretty small with only a little seating indoors & a little seating outside. It was fairly busy. Don't plan on being able to stay to enjoy your ice cream. We saw a list of flavors up on the wall. Because the counter was crowded with big groups before us, we couldn't get a look at the ice cream prior to our turn. I snagged quick pics of some cases between getting blocked again. There wasn't a line order per se & a worker would just call for whoever was next. Customer service didn't feel friendly or welcoming at all. It felt rushed with an obvious impatient attitude to hurry & tell them what you want, no offer of a sample or to answer any questions. We just decided to go off the flavor list on the wall for some tasty sounding straightforward choices. We got scoops of Vanilla Bean, Kahlua Truffle, & Chocolate Peanut Butter. The ice cream was delicious, flavorful, rich, & creamy. We got good sized scoops that we really enjoyed.

Yelp
Best ice cream ever! Unique flavor with good quality. Reasonable price. My must-go place whenever i visit Sausalito.
google avatar

Marquese C.

Yelp
Got a scoop of rose water & honey flavored ice cream in a waffle cone from Lappert's and it didn't disappoint entirely. The ice cream wasn't that flavorful but it had something that kept me eating and desiring more with every bite. I would come back and try a different flavor. Lots of options for flavors of ice cream here. Friendly and helpful service, willing to let you try different flavors of their products. The waffle cone was on or the best I've ever had!
google avatar

Kevin M.

Yelp
Was really looking forward to this place but was quickly disappointed. The ice cream tasted average. I felt rushed by the staff even though the place wasn't that busy at the time. Parking is extremely difficult.
google avatar

Rachel M.

Yelp
Loved my chocolate cookies and cream scoop on a waffle cone! Sweet, creamy with big Oreo chunks. Popular ice cream chain in the heart of Sausalito and they definitely receive all the love from visitors judging by the long lines! Service is prompt and the scoopers are very accommodating as I sampled some flavors. They have traditional flavors like cookie dough but I also saw some fun ones like a Hawaiian type and ube. Inside is small with a few tables in the front so most get takeout and enjoy their ice cream near the water. Parking can be tricky but there's paid street and a paid lot a short walk close to the water/harbor.

Yelp
Popped into this place while visiting Sausalito in the Bay Area... and the day could not have been better. It was sunny and warm with a very soft and mild breeze. The line was a little long and I was worried however it moved along very quickly because the staff have the perfect set up for them to move efficiently and process their orders. The staff is very friendly and very patient because they recognize that there are a lot of tourist that pop into the ice cream shop that are not familiar with the process or the menu. The ice cream shop does not have too much seating on the inside as they want to maximize the space to get customers in and out however, they do have a few options for seating outside the shop. I was fortunate enough to find a table on the inside, so I was able to sit down and enjoy my ice cream while watching them get through an enormous amount of people. I ordered a hot fudge sundae with chocolate macadamia nut ice cream, and it was amazing. Everything tasted fresh and homemade. The staff was very generous with the toppings and I love that every bite I took had either toasted almonds or macadamia nuts. The ice cream was not too sweet , which was a plus for me. I highly recommend this place however expect for the line to be long and wait times to be short. I waited less than 6 minutes to get to the front counter, so that was very nice. Enjoy!

Yelp
This ice cream shop is super popular, and the prices are quite reasonable. You get a big scoop for around $7, and they even have my favorite flavor, rum raisin. Definitely worth recommending! 生意超級好的冰淇淋,加上價格也不算貴,還有七上下一大球,還有我最喜歡的蘭姆葡萄口味。算是蠻推薦的!

Yelp
After walking around downtown and passing this place several times with long lines we definitely want to try it and see what the hype was all about. My mini me treated me to a scoop of the Kona coffee ice cream here and she got the cookies and cream scoop. We really wanted the sea salt caramel but it was sold out so definitely want to come back and try that flavor. We both enjoyed our scoops. I even tried her cookies and cream mixed with coffee ice and that was the bomb!! I would comeback again and be aware of the chaos inside to get the ice cream though. My mini me told me it was nuts and there was no established line only the servers yelling next and people cutting her that she had to make her way to front to put her order in. We can see why everyone likes it and look forward to coming back and trying other stuff they have.
google avatar

Janni Linea B.

Yelp
Solid ice cream spot in downtown Sausalito! Usually there's a line, but luckily there wasn't one when we went. It was my first time back in 8 years, and it's just as good as I remember. I used to get the Cookie Monster, but this time I tried the Kauai Pie and I loved it. The mix of coffee, chocolate, and macadamia nut flavors is perfect. My boyfriend got the blueberry cheesecake and that one was really good too. I just got a single scoop, but they give you a generous amount. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area!

Yelp
I arrived around 1 PM on a Friday and there were about 10 parties ahead of me. It took about 15-20 minutes to get my Guava Cheesecake ice cream. The weather was around 70* with a slight breeze so the wait wasn't too bad. Definitely shows how popular the place is. Seating is pretty limited with only 2-3 tables, and there's no dedicated parking lot but street parking isn't too bad. Guava Cheesecake ($5) - 8/10 I'm a big fan of strawberry and guava so I might be tad bit biased. I really enjoyed this flavor and couldn't stop eating it. The guava was nice and fresh. Super creamy without being too heavy. It didn't have that weird aftertaste that some ice creams get which was a big plus. I'd definitely visit again if I'm ever in the area.
google avatar

Kylie F.

Yelp
I got the salted caramel while visiting for the day. The ice cream is delicious! A little pricey but still worth trying their cool flavors. Employees were nice and helped us sample before buying.
google avatar

Alex Z.

Yelp
Lappert's usually has a pretty solid line given the popularity, however it moves quickly so worth the queue. The ice cream itself is solid, really good size for a single scoop. The flavor is a little bit more muddled, not too sweet, so if that's what you're looking for, give this place a try.
google avatar

Lesly M.

Yelp
Soo many flavors to try! Went for the classic vanilla bean which hit the spot. Line comes and goes, gets pretty long so kind of hard to take your time and sample some. Kind and quick service! Place is nearby all the shops and water view.
google avatar

Jasa M.

Yelp
The ice cream was really good but I wish there was a better system in place for ordering and paying. You have to line up to get inside, but as soon as you're inside the staff is just yelling "NEXT!" and it gets chaotic -- even if you're next, people end up cutting from all sides. Other than that, the staff was friendly and the ice cream was yummers.
google avatar

Sarah C.

Yelp
I was able to sample only 2 flavors and ended up getting the delicious blue cookie monster one in a cup. To save myself some extra calories I got it in a cup as we just had a late lunch! My cousin got the macadamia triple chocolate I believe? Was very chocolately which I wasn't into at the moment. Would come here again! Seems like everyone's staple in Sausalito.
google avatar

Nicole L.

Yelp
Small place, only 3 small tables on the inside. Grab your icecream and take a stroll in the area. I got the macadamia nut icecream and it was so good :) some people in our party got the pistachio and it wasn't to their liking. Salted caramel and the date icecream were a hit. This place is almost always crowded with a long line. Staff can feel pressured...Be gentle.
google avatar

Brian H.

Yelp
Amazing icecream. Active duty military - come on in for the free icecream. In posed my pic. I forgot the name but is a Florence t blue and cookies inside.z. Soooooo good. Mmmm. The guy behind the counter is so nice and he is very generous with the taste test. He made. Great suggestion. Thank you Thank you. I will be back ..you should too - you will be happy you did .
google avatar

Yelp
Ice cream was good. Service was rude. I went on a weekday afternoon and there was no line and the store was quiet. I was reading the flavors in the display case since it wasn't on the overhead menu and the names weren't intuitive of what the flavor entailed. The guy, with not a polite tone, asked if I could be helped. I told him I needed a bit to look and he told me to just sample the flavors then. I was a bit taken aback by the attitude so picked two that was of some interest in front of me. They were eh so I wanted to try another and he said he can't let me sample anymore. I was pretty annoyed by then. He didn't let me know about the sample limit and I didn't see a sign that said there was a limit since he was rushing me. I went with the Mayor's which is espresso based ice cream with chocolate pieces and other stuff that I can't remember. The coffee flavor was not very strong. There were a lot of toppings though and it was actually quite filling. It was definitely on the sweeter end. The single scoop was $5.95. It is quite large for a scoop!
google avatar

Anna H.

Yelp
Walking on the street, it seemed like everyone had a Lappert's cone or cup in hand. This ice cream was very creamy and decently sweet. The scoop was huge! I loved being able to sample the different flavors to decide which ones I wanted. The Hawaiian-inspired flavors were all so cool -- I got the nuku hiva and my friend got the lychee.
google avatar

Calvin C.

Yelp
After a morning spent in the sun, I was parched and hungry for sweets. My tummy led me to the busy doors Lappert's ice cream. Fortunately the line wasn't too long and we ordered a scoop of pistachio and a scoop of the Udderly Pure. The pistachio was creamy and has lil bits of pistachio in it. But I think my new favorite has to be the Udderly Pure. It's so rich, creamy and the perfect amount of sweet. It's not quite vanilla, but I do know it's amazing. So if hankering for some dessert, treat yourself to an unforgettable sweet treat!
google avatar

Lynn N.

Yelp
I had a fun time at Lappert's Ice Cream. I was walking around Sausalito for the first time and saw everyone eating ice cream. I had to see where they got it from, and the very crowded shop with a huge ice cream sign was a no brainer. I went inside and we had to almost shove our way to get to a free server. It is a smaller cafe with lots of people. Although there is some seating, I think it is best to enjoy the ice cream outside. We were able to try a few flavors, so I asked our server what his favorite was to which he said "I don't eat ice cream." We had a laugh, but he said the Date Casablanca was good. We were curious and tried it, and ended up ordering it! We thought it was unique and enjoyable! Not too heavy, and the dates add a very strong sweetness. This place had many flavors, and they are all Hawaiian inspired. I'm curious to try more!
google avatar

Jessica D.

Yelp
I love Lappert's! They have so many flavors to choose from including Hawaiian inspired flavors. The Hawaiian Sea Salt Caramel is my favorite. We went on a cold, windy day and the line was long because they're that good!
google avatar

Ashley M.

Yelp
Huge scoops of ice cream as should be given the hefty price tag. 2 scoops in waffle cone came out to more than $9. Ube and pistachio were good - many actual pistachio nuts. Line can be long and ordering inside is complete chaos with no real line and disarray. No where to sit to enjoy. So go across the street to the park and sit on the grass and in the shade and enjoy.
google avatar

Kiley J.

Yelp
The workers are very disorganized, think every worker for themselves helping out each customer on their own. Came for mother's day weekend, one person tells us to shift to the side of the wall, another tries to shift the line to the center, lowkey frustrating. PowerPoint presentation smackdab in the middle of their flavors. Flavors were decent, hard to taste samples without feeling rushed, anxiety was raised, definitely should've tried other ice cream shops closeby. Sisters would not recommend the Kona mocha
google avatar

Christine W.

Yelp
Came here with my friend after a lunch/brunch! We walked past the place on our way to the restaurant, and we came on our way back to the ferry. The ambiance is nice, but the seating is limited indoors and there is a bit more outdoors. The service was good, and my friend and I were able to try a few flavors! I got the Cookie Monster ice cream flavor (single scoop in a cup). I would give this a 10/10 because I was surprised I enjoyed it as much as I did. The color is a bit offsetting at first but the taste is wonderful :) I also tried my friend's strawberry ice cream, and it was very refreshing and creamy with a nice strawberry flavor :)
google avatar

Sagruilla P.

Yelp
Updating to a 5-star. This has become our routine whenever we visit Muir Woods or Sausalito. They have consistently good flavors--a mix of crowd pleasers, Hawaiian influenced flavors, and interesting ones such as date. The textures are always good due to nothing sitting around long enough to get freezer burn, and the service is fast if hurrIt's crowded and hectic, but just across the street there are benches and cement seating by the water.
google avatar

Eden C.

Yelp
Great flavors & texture! Love the udderly pure, lilikoi (passion fruit), and lychee. Definitely recommend. 2 samples per customer, so make sure to try some flavors! Only one flavor per scoop. Store can get busy and crowded, but I'd say it's worth it.

Somya A.

Yelp
Staff is very rude and not welcoming. Won't come there again. Ice cream was decent but they don't let you sample.
google avatar

Winston L.

Yelp
Busy ice cream shop that is located on Sausalito's main street in downtown. There is not much seating inside but it is a great little treat to get and walk around while soaking in the views. Due to the line, it seemed that service was super rushed but Lappert's had a ton of quirky flavors that's worth a try. I opted for the Hawaiian Sea Salt Caramel on a waffle cone. The portion for a single scoop was decent. Overall I think it is a good shop for the area but around the Bay, I have had ice cream that was more tailored for me.
google avatar

Christiane F.

Yelp
The ice cream was VERY refreshing after a long day of walking around and exploring Sausalito! Not the best I've had but not bad either. It's always pretty crowded and the servers are very busy but still pretty nice. Not a lot of seating available but we were able to grab one of the two tables indoors.
google avatar

Ria B.

Yelp
Passion fruit sorbet is so tangy and good. Strong flavor which is not always prevalent in passion fruit flavored things. It was super refreshing and yummy. The key lime pie gelato had key lime pie sorbet swirled through it with pie chunks. I do wish there was more of it because at time there was too much ice cream vanilla flavor and not enough tang or familiar sour flavor reminiscent of key lime. Inside the store is small. Not much seating area but all the flavors are listed up on a screen above. The staff is also quick to grab your attention and help you out. They allow each person to have try two flavors.
google avatar

Bryan R.

Yelp
Great ice cream shop! We came through on a family/birthday vibe and grabbed something cold & sweet. Glad we did, the kids loved it and so did the grown folk. We'd come back to cool down anyway. Thanks to the servers and the amazing community feel
google avatar

Sarah C.

Yelp
generous scoops, pretty good balance with the sweetness. I would pick other flavors next time, there were so many interesting ones
google avatar

Wayne G.

Yelp
The service is top notch and they know their product line. The prices are reasonable. The Kona Coffee sundae and other flavors I tasted are good though short of memorable.
google avatar

Mz J.

Yelp
The employees were friendly and there are so many great ice cream flavors. Thank you for having a sugar free option. If possible, please make more sugar free options available in the future. I didn't see any vegan flavors. I will definitely come back. Parking- at one of the lots nearby.
google avatar

Vijay R.

Yelp
You get the true feel of aloha with all the Hawaiian flavors. I got the ube milkshake. It was delicious. My only complaint is it was not filled to the very top even with whip cream. Either more ice cream or milk would help.
google avatar

Jamil Q.

Yelp
Delicious ice cream and coffee drinks. A little on the pricey side. The view by the water is amazing. Very touristy.
google avatar

Gnomie E.

Yelp
The line was long at first, but it moved surprisingly quickly. The staff worked with speed and focus while still being warm and welcoming. They even let me sample a couple of flavors. My favorites were the Hawaiian Sea Salt Caramel and Hana Road, but I ultimately went with the Cookie Monster. I loved its bright blue color and the generous cookie dough chunks. Highly recommend stopping here and I loved the vibe!
google avatar

Helen V.

Yelp
There were so many different flavor options for ice cream and each person got to sample two flavors. They had benches outside to sit and enjoy our ice cream. The place was busy with customers coming in and out.
google avatar

Sophia H.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I came here for dessert after getting dinner in the area. There was a group of people in front of us when we arrived, but the line moved pretty quick. We got to sample a couple flavors before deciding on which one we wanted. I got a single scoop ($5.95) of the Blueberry Lemon Cookie, and my boyfriend got a single scoop of the Ube Macapuno. Their single scoop is pretty generous. Given the amount, it would've been great if they allowed up to two flavors for a single scoop. Unfortunately, we couldn't do that. The Blueberry Lemon Cookie was very yummy. I typically don't gravitate towards lemon flavored desserts, but after sampling this one, I immediately knew I wanted a scoop of it. The lemon was subtle and blended in very well with the blueberry. I loved the cookie bits; they provided a nice contrasting texture. I did try a couple bites of the Ube Macapuno. It didn't have the usual ube flavor I'm used to. I think the macapuno overpowered the ube. Although I personally didn't like it, my boyfriend did. So it was just personal preference. Overall, I thought the flavor selection here was good. There were a lot of flavors I wanted to try. The other flavor I sampled was the Cookie Monster, and that was very good.
google avatar

Shu Huan Y.

Yelp
Wow what a place. I really enjoyed the ice cream and I liked the passion fruit sorbet. I did not get but we got the nuka hiva and banana cream pie. They had another side of flavors but these were so good. I really liked nuka hiva and mocha chip. The service was fast and everything tasted great! A cold day won't stop us from a cold treat!
google avatar

Chris R.

Yelp
Love the ice cream here my girlfriend ordered the cherry ice cream. I ordered the unicorn poop ice cream, which was cotton candy ice cream with chocolate chips. The service here is very friendly a quick the ambience feels like you're walking into an old ice cream shop like an 80s feel
google avatar

Joe H.

Yelp
Lappert's Ice Cream shop offers many different flavors. I got their Kona Coffee in a waffle cone. It was pretty good! I would try other flavors next time.
google avatar

Z. H.

Yelp
Popular ice cream spot with some unique flavors. Ice cream was worth the visit and the lines move pretty quickly. It is a little pricier knowing it's a tourist area. They offer a free scoop of ice cream for military service members which is awesome! Parking could be tough to find on the street and most are metered. If you're in the area this is a place to visit!
