Cannavacciuolo Countryside

"This restaurant tells the story of chef Antonino Cannavacciuolo, who created this special place to reconnect with his childhood memories (his grandfather was once the caretaker here) and its sense of hospitality. This chef’s culinary philosophy is ably interpreted by resident chef Nicola Somma, who celebrates the region by combining ingredients from Cannavacciuolo’s adopted home with his native region in a journey that takes guests from northern to southern Italy. The ingredients used are carefully chosen and either sourced from local producers or grown in the restaurant’s own kitchen garden, keeping alive the precious traditions that have influenced this chef’s character and culinary skill. There’s an excellent and constantly expanding wine list, which will more than satisfy even the most demanding wine-buffs. An unforgettable, relaxing gourmet experience in a bucolic setting." - Michelin Inspector

This is one of the most beautiful hotels in the world with the most impeccable service and food. The hotel is situated in the countryside, hence the name, high up in the mountains. Not accessible if you don’t have a car! The roads are not for the faint hearted so you have to be a brave and confident driver. We arrived and had the pool to ourselves. Just before dinner we saw the chef outside our room picking herbs for our dinner. Bliss. The dinner was exquisite. One of us had the vegetarian tasting menu( €120)and the other had the mix (fish and meat €160). Each course expertly put together with the finest touches to each one. Everything from the vegetarian menu is from the garden - heaven. The service is wonderful. Lots of dishes have a story which they tell you - it makes you appreciate the food more. The hotel is family run - set up by a passionate couple who love nature, fresh produce and people. You can feel it. The rooms are classy and the amenities slick. The breakfast we chose to have in our room and it was delicious and perfect. So much choice. Only thing I would say is the wine is very expensive for a glass and the beer too. There are beautiful hikes around which we enjoyed. If you want to go anywhere it is about 20 minutes down the mountain first and some very sharp bends but it is worth it!

We experienced Laqua Countryside as almost perfect. If you like to relax and rest: great location in a quiet town. If you like service, they are 24/7 available and extremely friendly, if you like amazing food (from breakfast to dinner): It's a Michelin kitchen.. 1 point they should improve is insulation towards the rooms. With closed door and window, it should be completely quiet in the room which wasn't the case: There's some noise from the restaurant and the airco isn't the most silent one either. The basics of a hotel is night rest so that's the only reason why I don't give 5/5 for all. I want to repeat: The rest was just perfect!

The Laqua Countryside is an excellent boutique hotel. Our family rented two rooms and they were both very nice. The breakfast was served by hotel staff and it was wonderful. The location is a bit more remote, so you should allow some extra time for travel. The staff were very professional and helpful, and we enjoyed the well maintained facilities and yard at the hotel.

My husband and I stayed here for two nights as part of our honeymoon in Rome and the Amalfi coast. This has been the highlight of our trip so far and probably the best hotel experience we’ve ever had. The staff are kind and welcoming. The rooms are beautiful and thoughtfully designed. The town of Ticciano is a beautiful and peaceful place. The food was unbelievable. Everything we ate was impeccable - from breakfast, to the club sandwhich by the pool and of course our dinner. We did the cooking class experience with Davide and it was a complete delight. Our dinner here was something we will never forget. A truly impeccable experience. We are now looking to book another Laqua property on our next visit to Italy. A beautiful hotel. We didn’t want to leave.

What a fantastic experience! I was at the Laqua restaurant together with my wife to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We have been welcomed with warm hospitality and after a quick tour to see the garden and the pool area we have started what will remain an unforgettable experience. We had chosen the two main menus (Nonna Fiorentina and Nonno Antonino) and a selection of valuable wines. The turbot with fried watermelon and the ice cream made with “provolone del monaco” are unique and the probably contributed to the awarding of the Michelin star. |Chef Nicola and his team made that dinner priceless. It’s a real journey in a multitude of flavors. Top!

Reached with a 30 minutes drive from the main highway from Vico Equense - or apparently a +/- one hour walk over the mountain to/from Positano - this a culinary treat high in the mountains overlooking the Bay of Naples. Food is as you would expect for one star michelin (is that all!) and very reasonably priced compared to what you may pay on the cliffs below. We are a la carte and, with all the extra accompaniments could not manage a desert. Spaghetti with Sea Urchin, signature dish, Turbot and Pigeon, all with amazing flavours and perfectly paired wines, carefully discussed with the restaurant manager. Superb lunch time treat. Tour of hotel and kitchen garden. The few rooms are elegantly designed, with a stunning top floor apartment.

This place is a real gem, the whole facility is so beautifully designed and kept. The rooms are fantastic, espcially the Marina room upstairs. The pool is great, clean, wonderful water, very relaxing. The service is of the finest I have ever encountered. Breakfest is rich and very satisfying. I reccommend this place with all my heat!

A wonderful place to enjoy yourself. Fantastic location and unique idyll. Everything was perfect from the service to the room. Definitely book a visit to the restaurant. Only small criticism: lunch prices are a bit too high for what is offered.
