This was our first to the area and we had an incredible experience at Lara’s Fine Dining in Richmond! Our group of 14 was celebrating a birthday, and everything from the food to the service was absolutely top-notch. The ambiance was perfect for a special occasion, and the staff made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. A huge shoutout to our server, Oscar, who went above and beyond to make the evening smooth, fun, and memorable. He was attentive, friendly, and managed our large party with ease and professionalism. Everyone in our group raved about their meals — from the appetizers to the desserts, every dish was beautifully presented and full of flavor. Thank you, Lara’s, for making our celebration so special. We look forward to returning the next time we’re in town 😋.

My husband and I have visited this restaurant over the years in its various identities. On Valentines Day, we’d made a Oceanside table reservation. It was very busy but our hostess, Sylvana, was attentive, gracious, professional and lovely, and got us the table we asked for. The evening offered a prix fixe menu and we enjoyed the fresh sea bass and shrimp. Table service was flawless and friendly, which is kind of amazing for a busy “date night” vibe. I enjoyed the brewed decaf, which is often not the case. For the “four stars” on atmosphere, I found the lighting a tad too bright but, to be fair, there were many families and seniors who benefitted from that. Well done, Lara’s!

This place is an absolute gem. The restaurant is so elegant and has an amazing view, but is still affordable. Everything I've had on the menu is excellent -- incredibly fresh, perfectly cooked and deliciously seasoned. Some of my favorite dishes are the impossible burger, crab salad, and all of the pastas. The deserts are scrumptious, too. All of the staff are incredibly nice and I've only ever had a great experience with the customer service.

Had a delicious brunch/lunch. Will bring guests there for a seafood or meal to brag about as a California must experience time. What a hidden gem this place is! From the moment we walked in, we were surrounded by a wonderful ambiance—gorgeous fresh flowers, beautiful smiles, and true professionalism from the staff. We enjoyed a fantastic meal that tasted fresh and delicious, with very generous portions. Mrs. Lara herself went table to table greeting everyone, and she even sang with her angelic voice, which made the experience feel extra special. My friend and I enjoyed every bit of our food. We really wanted to try the dessert cart, but we were already so full—next time for sure! We will definitely be back. Thank

Couldn't find one thing wrong The best tasting steak so juicy and cooked to perfection, salmon was outstanding, the clam chowder tasty, Prawn cocktail. Omg... Chocolate moose, and cheese cake was delicious. Everything was perfect

First time there! The restaurant's facade, reminiscent of a lighthouse, rigth in front of the marina, immediately catches the eye. Inside, the ambiance is casual yet charming, with a seaside European vibe. The tables are elegantly draped in white tablecloths, and the staff are exceptionally attentive, friendly, and accommodating. We started cocktails in the bar area, separated by a staircase in a different room. It is equipped with a TV and lively locals were having drinks, but there are quieter tables around and we sat in one to have a few tasty cocktails before dinner. We has the seafood stew with pasta and the scallop dish. Both were incredibly fresh, delicious, and beautifully prepared. The highlight of our meal was listening to live piano tunes while sering people get up to dance along with having the waiter bring up an old-school dessert cart. Of course we went for it! By the way, their carrot cake and chocolate mousse...divine! We will return on a special ocasion.

For over six years, this restaurant has been my sanctuary for life's most cherished moments, from milestone birthdays and Mother’s Day celebrations to intimate dinners with dear friends. It remains one of my absolute favorite establishments. Between the refined music, the exquisite decor, and the breathtaking waterfront setting, the ambiance is truly unparalleled. Our waiter, Oscar, provided impeccable service. And the owner is always such a warm and gracious presence to encounter, she has one of the most beautiful voice when she sings. I already look forward to my next visit. It has become a tradition!

Went for a family dinner and had a wonderful experience. The ambience is just lovely, it feels a bit like a large old house that has been converted. They had set up a bunch of beautiful Christmas lights, too. It was too dark to see the harbor, unfortunately. I ordered their salmon dish, which was excellent. Perfectly cooked, with simple seasoning and a mango salsa for some extra kick. The side of mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach was also delicious with simple but perfect seasoning. Didn't save room for desert, unfortunately, because the cart looked amazing!

We have been dining in Lara's establishments (Hotel Mac previously, now Lara's Fine Dining in the former Salute location) for decades. Probably for profit reasons, her food quality has somewhat diminished but is still good enough to keep her venue on our "occasional" list. The good: great location, lovely Richmond harbor views (especially for sunset dining), well-stocked bar, good desserts, generally good service, reliable if standard Italian main courses, and the frequently-present pianist offers skilled, pleasant and varied music at a gentle volume perfect for dinner conversation. The less-than-marvelous: meats are often a tad overcooked, the meals are a bit pricey for the quality, and the food prep quality in general could use improvement -- it doesn't take a Michelin-starred chef to ensure that shellfish & meats stay tender. Also, Lara should stick to being a gracious hostess and resist singing. The necessary: make reservations! Dress comfortably but be aware that many guests dress up.

Thank you Lara's for an incredible Christmas morning. My twin brother and I came in with no reservation immediately upon opening, hoping to get a table. The staff was kind enough to let us sit and we got a table near the windows. Upon sitting down, we immediately loved the view of the bay, it was absolutely stunning, especially with all the Christmas decorations and warm blazing fireplace all! Our waiter, Oscar welcomed us to our table and greeted us warmly as he explained to us the special today (it was Halibut) and answered all our questions regarding the menu. My brother and I both ordered the Eggs Benedict with Canadian bacon. It was EXCELLENT! Highly recommend as i am an avid lover of Eggs Benedicts! They also have a piano here that is played time to time for the guests! Very unique atmosphere, excellent service, and a very accommodating stuff. Thank you for taking such great care of us Oscar! We appreciate it and will surely be back! Merry Christmas to you and all the staff.

I told my friends after eating Peruvian food to check out Lara's Fine Dining for coffee and desserts. I had been at this restaurant for lunch many times already. The hostess told us that they will serve until 4 pm. However we ended like 4:30 pm. We ordered latte and decaf coffees. We also had the Cheesecake & Cream Brûlée. The owner Lara stopped at our table. I told my friends that Lara sang my birthday song years ago. Definitely she did sing again today. It was so nice. We had pictures with her. My friends enjoyed both the ambiance as the restaurant is near the water, the service was nice and the snack was good. My friends said that for sure we will return for lunch.

Recently came here for a work lunch and it was fairly crowded. The service was phenomenal. The staff is extremely nice and attentive. The restaurant is beautiful as well. Right along the water and you have a nice view of the SF skyline. It can get hot with all the windows, creating a sunroom effect. But it's nice for a cold day. The food was okay. They have a vast selection of items to choose from. The calamari is a little bland and came out less than crispy. The bruschetta was great, the tomatoes were seasoned well. The lobster roll was plain and the ration was way more bread than lobster. I wouldn't recommend getting this item and the lobster wasn't that great. I'm sure other things on their menu are fine, but for the price, I'd go somewhere else!

Not really fine dining, but nice. Been here numerous times and love the food. My favorite is their pork chop. I always can find something new and good on the desert menu.

We've lived in Richmond for almost 10 years, and we actually spend a fair amount of time down near the Marina, but our first visit to Lara's was last night. We sat in the main dining room overlooking the harbor, and the ambience was worthy of five stars. The dining room is bright and airy and just feels so nice. Menu and food, I'd say, is worthy of three stars. Typical italian and seafood options abound, but there might be just a tad too many options which kind of cheapens the menu. I ordered the gnocchi with meat sauce, and was underwhelmed, but it wasn't bad. It just didn't live up to the ambience that the restaurant has. My husband really liked the fish from his fish-and-chips plate, but he was less enthused about the fries (just a little plain). He was also hoping for some malt vinegar to come to the table, but he ended up eating all the fish without it. The fresh bread brought to the table, though, was a standout. I really enjoyed it. I think if they pared down the menu (maybe by half?) and really focused on perfecting their options, this place would be a standout restaurant. Overall, the ambience outweighs the menu and we had a nice nice dinner and will happily come back!

so I love this place because it's on the water. It's beautiful. I just absolutely love the ambience. The service is always good. The bartender makes fabulous drinks and I always enjoy their salads.

While in town after a family memorial service, the family decided to do a late brunch. We called ahead, and they could accommodate our party of 12. We showed up and as promised, we had a series of tables set up for us. It was great to have close family members together, and I of course set the party off by getting some cocktails from the bar. After a few beverages, we were all so overwhelmed by the number of great options. With people traveling from all over the country, everyone gravitated to some seafood. I went all in and had the Fettuccini Nero, which had homemade Black Squid Ink Fettuccini, lobster, mussels, & of course Dungeness crab tossed in this Alfredo Sauce. Everyone was trying each other's dishes... BUT ME, I was like "wow yours looks great... but keep your fork on your side of the table please"... haha...The beauty of family!. As for Desert, I didn't go overboard, but I picked a few items for the family to share... and that's because the dessert cart came out and was next to me!!! And yes, I did get the Chocolate Mousse Cake & Crème Brûlée. We also had a visit from Ms. Lara herself to the table, thanking us for coming in. Overall, a great experience with great food, family & friends. Looking forward to returning

We came to Lara's Fine Dining after our director's retreat and it was the perfect spot to wrap up the day. The waterfront views are beautiful, the atmosphere is elegant but still comfortable, and the service was excellent--attentive without being overbearing. The food was outstanding! Everything from the appetizers to the entrées was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully plated. They also have a great wine and cocktail list that paired perfectly with our meals. Overall, a wonderful experience for both a group dinner and a special night out. Definitely recommend if you're looking for fine dining in Richmond with great views and great food.

This restaurant caught my eye when different friends posted it on social media. I bookmarked it. I made a reservation for party of five on Yelp for a Saturday night at 5:30pm. Hubby & I arrived first. Our table was tucked in the corner in the long shotgun room that stretched from one end to the other. It really was a table for four but they stuck a chair at the end. We had a nice view of the marina. While waiting hubby & I both ordered a hazy IPA, and listened to live piano music. The rest of our party soon joined us. We were informed of the daily specials. Starters - * calamari for the table - good serving size. Nice coating. * cups of clam chowder soup - no oyster crackers though. Lots of minced clams. * house bread - accompanied by whipped butter, balsamic vinegar, and olive oil in a dish. The first basket is comp. After that there's a charge. One basket good for us. Dinner entrees - * two ordered the fish of the day. Sea bass * hubby ordered his favorite pasta. Linguine with clams. He counted 12. * one ordered the prime rib * I ordered the veal scaloppine with mushroom sauce. The sauce a little salty but overall I enjoyed it. Dessert - they rolled the dessert cart over. Six to select from plus sorbet & gelato. Both the crème brûlée and tiramisu are made onsite. * we ordered two tiramisus & five spoons. Very good. All in all we were pleased with our dinner selections. The restaurant is located by the Marina Bay Yacht Harbor in Point Richmond. We used our GPS to locate it. There's a shared parking lot with another restaurant. Nearby landmark is Rosie the Riveter National Historic Park. We enjoyed both attentive service and food so much we plan to return for our next get together.

Enjoyed dinner with my mom here on a Saturday. Ambiance was on point with the live music and ocean views (yes in Richmond). Came in and were asked to wait at the bar, although pretty busy, we were seated promptly. Menu has a good range and should be able to satisfy most picky eaters. Servers were knowledgeable and made great suggestions and were attentive throughout our entire meal. Ordered the calamari to start and it was light and crispy, solid app. Mains we got the Halibut with the sautéed veggies, which was an absolute banger! Mash was airy and had a great consistency as well as the sautéed veggies weren't cooked to death, so also good. Mom got the daily special seafood pasta which was in a pesto sauce with shrimp, mussels and some other sea critters, very tasty (portion was decent, moms is tiny so no she did not finish it, yes I took it home and yes it was amazing the next day, that's pasta for you). Live music was definitely a highlight of the night as we really enjoyed the jazz combo that played. Thanks Mom! I would've never known about this place without you! Will come back with my lady soon as this is truly one of Richmond's hidden gems

Lara's fine dining is our go-to place for whenever we have an out of town visitor. The waterfront views, upscale ambience, and consistent good food made it a special place. On our recent visit we didn't have an reservation, so we weren't able to get a window seating, but we had the parlor room for ourselves, and with the fireplace and live piano music it was just so lovely. The broad menu meant we can order several appetizers and share two mains for our party of 5. The food and service were very good. It was a perfect evening.

Had a great dining experience with the family. The espresso martini is amazing. Service was great as well.

I've been going to Lara's for years and can't believe I haven't left a review yet. They have an awesome happy hour that I go to 1-2 times a month. I just spent NYE there yesterday for a great meal of prime rib and lobster. But Ive actually never had a bad meal here and I've tried it all. I love their marina fish soup, chicken sandwich, prime rib, their fries are to die for, pork chop rocks. Lara's is a real hidden gem with amazing views. Their best asset tho is their wonderful staff. They have very low turnover and you get the same staff repeatedly and they're all just amazing. They seem to have a lot of fun at work and really act as a team and their service is super top notch. Alex who I believe is a manager and bartender is just the best in the business. Even if I move away from Marina Bay I'll keep coming to Lara's and I hope they continue to thrive. I bring business contacts and friends here every chance I get.

Gorgeous views. Crummy service. Boring food. We were there for an hour and a half having coffee and no waiter came by our table even once to see if we were fine or if we wanted something else. My hot chocolate was awful. It was obviously made of powder like the kind you do at home. If I had wanted that taste, I would've stayed at home. No whipped cream on top. Just nasty swill. The bathroom was nice and clean but one stall was out of order. I would not go here again.

I was told this was a hidden gem. Arriving it was in the (cuts) by Richmond Marina. It pretty small in there and quite intimate. On the other side they have a bar with tv in case anyone would like to watch a game. My husband order the carb cakes which was pretty good I did taste them. My mother in law order some oysters that was pretty tasty but I only had one. Which I was hungry I decided not to order an appetizer and go straight to my main meal. I order the scallops with some type of white cream sauce. I was enjoying it until about my second scallops I started feeling queasy. So I immediately pushed the plate back because I couldn't stand to smell or see the food. I had to run to the restaurant and I would leave the rest to your imagination just for the sake of this review. As the kitchen had already closed due to the conversation from the owner he came over and took the plate and asked if I would like some dessert instead. I was actually offended. Like why would I want dessert after damn rear vomiting at the table. I did ask the waiter for some ice and ended the night. I actually believe the seafood may have been old because it didn't agree with my stomach. I'm in the fence if I would ever go back. The waiter was nice but the owner didn't really meet my standards.

We came here for Mother's Day which had a special menu that day. This place is elegant, overlooking the water which is really nice, and had reasonably good service for a day as busy as Mother's Day. I had the halibut, which was delicious and hubby had the short rib stew. We also had a Caesar salad and clam chowder soup, both nicely done. All were delicious and artistically presented. It was a very nice experience for Mother's Day.

Can't wait to see you tonight !! Lara's has the best servers, bartenders and chefs!! And more importantly ~ Lara's has the best food in the Bay Area!!

Came back again and tried a different steak and pasta this time, plus the usual Smoked Lilkoi Margarita made by the famous bartender Alex. Still 10/10 on the food, vibes, and service. I had the special Filetto di Manzo - bacon-wrapped filet mignon topped with a port three peppercorn sauce, served with mashed potatoes and fresh vegetables. The filet was cooked to perfection, and the sauce was delicious. My partner had the pesto gnocchi and said it was great. We love that we live so close to this great gem!

This restaurant has a fun bar and white tablecloth fine dining with a fantastic view of the marina from the bar and much of the dinning areas. I had the scallops and they were amazing, there were six of them, maybe 7 ... not sure but, it was very filling for a hungry guy. My brother had the halibut and said it too was very good. Lara came to our table and talked to us. She was a delight, dry nice and an experienced restaurateur. I will be back every time I go to Richmond.

Food is absolutely amazing here. The quality is absolutely incredible. Everything is good, not a bad thing on the menu! So sad we missed the dessert cart though as I would have loved to sample something. The service was stellar and no complaints. It is a fine dining experience that is worth it!

The restaurant is tucked away behind a peaceful residential area, located in the marina with views of the water. The decor / ambiance was classy and quaint; the service was warm and inviting. We enjoyed the complementary bread (perfectly warmed) and fresh oysters. My husband ordered the pesto gnocchi (delicious) and I ordered the fettuccine verde, a vibrant, spinach-infused pasta. When paired with the rich, sweet red-based sauce, the dish transforms into a well-balanced experience where the acidity of tomatoes and a hint of sweetness create the perfect foundation for the seafood. The seafood elevates the dish to another level: mussels add a briny depth, their tender meat soaking up the sauce beautifully; jumbo scallops bring a buttery, melt-in-your-mouth richness; and lobster(?)--cooked to just the right crunch. The sauce clings to the al dente fettuccine, allowing each bite to deliver a harmony of textures and flavors--silky pasta, tender seafood, and a bold yet balanced tomato base.

We asked for more bread because it was 5 people at our table and the main waiter didn't want to do it. Plus it took a long time to even receive bread. Also the drink was not good from the bar and he said I could get a different drink and it was lower and he said I had two drinks and I only took a taste , plus he spilled a lot of the drink. What was worse is the head wait man was mean and aggressive, I went to the restroom and he was upset about it and aggressive the whole night.

If you are going to have a name that implies that you are a fine dining establishment, there is an expectation. The dining here isn't fine so a name change may be in order. I came here because our school was having the end of the year meal. We went to another place but they didn't have room to accommodate all of us. I've avoided this place because of the way the previous owner was pushed out, but I wasn't paying and I wanted a meal with the team that I've worked with over this last year. I expected a decent meal, however, the menu looked a lot like the previous owner's menu. I got the risotto and it wasn't great. It tasted like Mexican rice with asparagus pieces added. This would have been fine, but I ordered risotto and got a rice dish. I ordered a Shirley Temple and it was way too sweet. Grenadine with Sprite was too much sugar in the middle of the day for me. Two of my three tablemates had issues with their food. One guy ordered a chicken sandwich and eventually removed the chicken from the bun and used a knife and fork to finish it off. The bun did look a bit toasty. Another one ordered the scallops which came with a white sauce and they surrounded a cloud of mashed potatoes, on top of a portabello mushroom cap that covered some wilted spinach. He left all of that on his plate. He was given the option of taking it with him and he declined. The people who worked there were very nice, but the food took a very long time to arrive. Maybe they are used to being understaffed. The inside of the restaurant looked the same as it did before, so it had the Salute look without the Salute vibe or quality of food. That's a shame. I think I only saw two people on the wait staff working there, so maybe they aren't used to having a robust lunchtime crowd. If we weren't there, the place would have been empty! I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone because the food was meh and had non-meh prices. My boss paid $36 for my risotto with duck and the risotto was lame and the duck didn't add anything. The drink was unimpressive. I never have to see the inside of this spot again! I suggest that you don't either.

So we went for Father's Day for lunch. The place was bigger than I expected and felt homey. It was bright and airy. The weather was sunny but a little windy I would say bring a jacket just in case. I had the scampi which was really good. They were huge. The mashed potatoes had just the right amount of salt. My husband had a steak. I had a tiny bite and it was very juicy. My daughter had a burger and I also had a small bite and it was delicious. You could taste that flame grill taste. She got a chocolate dessert. I can't remember the name. I got crème brûlée and my husband got a Keylime. Everything was tasty. To top it off our server was fabulous. I believe his name was Carlos. You could tell that he really enjoyed his job and that he was a people person. He was very pleasant and made the day special.

Too pricy but the food is just mediocre.the view is awesome but the food served was a disappointment. The pork chop was too rubbery and dry. The fish and chips were not good---the fish was not cooked inside.

HORRIBLE PLACE! The hostess didn't even look at us, told us she'd be back and said we could be seated without looking at us or asking any other questions, what if we had others coming and you already thought it just be us. Questions are important, she didn't even bother looking at us felt very unprofessional. The food, the bread was cold and hard, the starter clam chowder was delicious a little sandy but flavor was all good. The entrees is another story we ordered the verde fettuccine, how do you mess up noodles? When I had a bite it was all stuck clumped up together and when I took a bite it was hard, the salmon was disgusting so salted I finished my cup of water eating one piece, the lobster and scallops were pretty well cooked the cream was bland even after adding salt and pepper ourselves. My dish was the prime rib meat was cooked as we asked a little bland the mashed potatoes no flavor and was hard could hardly swallow and the asparagus was very bitter the entire dishes themselves did not balance out well. The drinks I was honestly dumbfounded! My partner had asked for hot tea as a fine dining place I was expecting better but store bought instant tea was shocking! The tea cup I'm pretty sure was for decoration only seeing as the hole to hold the cup from was practically small enough for a child my partner kept burning his hand. I had ordered red wine and since I like more softer and sweeter things when I searched up what the notes were (as our server was no where to be found to relay anything to me) I had searched it up, I paid $13 for a glass when the bottle it self is than $15 it was such a huge rip off! The service I was so surprised by it honestly! Not only did we see our server only 2-3 times the entire time, we had to call her over to us. There weren't many people when we went in my partner and I just finished doing our daily errands we weren't dressed for "fine dining" but we were still good in jeans, shoes and comfortable sweaters for the cold weather. I had literally watched as all the severs mistreated an Asian family seated at a corner nearly dropping their food on them as soon as that family leaves and I listen at the severs complain and call the family AWFUL names. It was completely uncalled for if the food and servers were doing a better job maybe it'd be better for everyone. I had also noticed they were being specially kind and attentive to people that look like they had money constantly chatting with them, checking in, refilling their waters, I had also noticed that they got the "special treatment" there was a little cart with dessert options within pastries to dessert wine, only coming out to the tables that seem to have money. The servers can't tell who has money and who doesn't so being treated like that compared to others left a bad taste in my mouth. While my partner had finished eating his food the plates were piling up and neither of the three servers did anything to help out. The table had become a bit clattered my partner was struggling to sit in an open area to converse comfortably with me. I had also noticed that their knives were so worn out to a point that they NEED to be changed out! The knife was surprisingly dull not cutting my steak at all and the handle was hurting my hand as it was wood and giving me splinters. I am so disappointed with this place I used to love coming here with my partner whenever we wanted to spoil each other near home but no more I'm so angry with this place and hope these issues gets fixed soon!

lovely view--that's probably its biggest strength. If you're looking for a scenic place to sit and enjoy a glass of wine or celebrate a special occasion with a nice backdrop, this place delivers visually. Unfortunately, that's about where the positives end. Let's talk about the food, which is where it really disappoints. For a restaurant that calls itself "fine dining," the flavors and execution just aren't there. The menu sounds promising, but everything we ordered tasted average at best--and in some cases, bland or overcooked. My entrée was lacking in seasoning, and the presentation felt dated and uninspired. To make matters worse, the prices are excessive for the quality you receive. I don't mind paying a premium if the food is creative, delicious, and well-executed--but here, it just felt like we were paying for the view, not the meal. It's the kind of place where you look at the bill and feel like you could have had a much better experience elsewhere for half the price. Service was fine, though not especially warm or attentive. For a fine dining atmosphere, I expected more polish and detail from the front-of-house experience. In short: great location, great view--but underwhelming food and overpriced menu. If you're hoping for a memorable meal to match the ambiance, Lara's falls short. It might work for a drink with a view or a one-time sunset dinner, but for actual dining quality, I can't say I'd recommend it. There are far better restaurants nearby that offer both excellent food and atmosphere.

We chose Lara's Fine Dining and had a wonderful time. Good wine list, We chose the 2022 Napa Frank Family Chardonnay. We split the Heirloom Tomato and Mozzarella, basil salad to start. She ordered the Roasted chicken stuffed Ravioli with tomato cream sauce and I chose the Fettuccine Verde Which was a delicious Seafood Pasta. For desert, we split a creme brûlée, it was a perfect size for two. The ambiance was nice. We enjoyed the inside and the view. Our waiter was Carlos and he was very attentive without being intrusive. Well done! We will be back and have found a new local favorite!

A very cute establishment and is hidden behind all the condos. It's right by the water so I'm sure sunset is nice here. The outdoor lights are very inviting. There is plenty of seating, I feel like I can get lost in here. Bar has some nice TVs to watch games on. The happy hour is a good deal but ends at 6pm. The food is good but expensive. We all ordered pasta since we were told it's made in-house. It was yummy, but we agreed can use a little more seasoning. I did appreciate the plate coming out hot though so it kept your food warm as you ate it. The cocktails were yummy too and had a nice presentation! I also appreciate the trio dip that came with our bread. You can rarely find that type of service, usually people just offer one or the other. Not my go-to Italian place, but a great contender. Glad I've found something other than Pear Street for a nice dinner.

Food was fresh and delish Service was kind and professional. Loved the man bun. Use small black scrunchies band. Target or Walmart. Ambiance is always excellent.

I visited for a fundraising event in their back room. Everyone was kind, service was very friendly. Parking was great. The location is very clean and feels safe. The food was good and it was the perfect atmosphere. I definitely plan to visit again when I'm in the area!

After a heavy rainstorm, sometimes I end up getting my steps around the Richmond Marina because I don't have to deal with muddy trails, just aggressive bicyclists who zip by on the concrete walkways. It's hard to miss the handsome building that houses the restaurant, a huge Cape Cod house with a red gabled roof. I've never sat in the white tablecloth dining room. Just the bar because I end up sauntering in here in the middle of the afternoon. The brunch menu is also available with $14 specialty cocktails and pizzas, burgers, and appetizers in the $20 range. I've ordered from both menus and haven't been disappointed. Lori, Terry and I met here for lunch again today. It was Lori's choice. I would have been there on time, despite sleeping later than planned, had a brain fart that caused me to drive to Point Richmond rather than Marina Bay. I don't know how that happened, as I had fixed the location in my mind before leaving home, but it did. I realized my mistake as soon as I drove into Point Richmond, turned around, got back on the freeway and went to Marina Bay, parking in the far parking lot at Lara's. All the close spaces had been taken. By then Lori had called a couple of times to check on me. I answered the second call and told her I was there and would be right in. I told the hostess I was meeting my friends and she led me to their table, which was right by the window overlooking the marina. They had menus already and were trying to decide what they were having. We agreed to share an order of calamari to start while we were deciding on our mains. I also requested hot tea w/ oat milk and stevia. Our server, Katherina (I hope I'm remembering correctly;; she was charming and accommodating) brought a caddy of assorted teas and a small, graceful pitcher of oat milk. They didn't have stevia but they had Splenda, which is OK. The calamari was delicious, w/ loads of tentacles, which Terry and I both love. The calamari came w/ small ramekins of tartar sauce and cocktail sauce. Both were good. Terry requested bread and a small sliced loaf was brought to us, along w/ a tripartite china tray w/ olive oil, balsamic, and butter. I stuck to the first two. I looked at the Specials menu and was immediately attracted to the Pasta Verde, which was linguine w/ Dungeness crab on top. Having left my reading glasses in the car, as I often do, so I didn't see what else was in it, and when it arrived I was surprised to find a lobster tail on top. It was a pleasant surprise. The photo I took was darker than I'd like, but it'll have to do. The other I took was even darker. I will let Lori and Terry tell you in their reviews what they ordered and what their experience was. It was a beautiful, sunny day, w/ the sun sparkling on the water and the boats in the marina. The pasta was delicious, perfectly cooked al dente. I loved the lobster and the crab. When the dessert cart came around we were too full to partake, but we admired everything. Lara's is a consistently good place to meet for lunch.

The service was great! We had a party of about 15 including 3 children. We were in a nice room with a beautiful view. The calamari was good as were the crab cakes. I had prime rib which I will not order again. It was a little dry and not very flavorful. The sides were good and everyone else liked what they ordered. Such as the salad and the lobster roll. I will stick with the seafood. The cheesecake was very good also.

We were out the way visiting friends and wanted a nice place to go to for quality appetizers and drinks, and boy, was I upset I hadn't met Lara early lol. We went in on a late afternoon/early evening Friday. The crowd hadn't started and the sun was an hour from sunset. Set at a window table right next to the water and our cocktail orders were taken immediately. From there we decided on shrimp cocktail, fresh oysters, coconut shrimp , artichoke dip and steak strips for appetizers. The taste of freshness was in every bite in all of the seafood. The cocktail sauce they serve should be bottled up and sold in stores. I'm not a big fan of coconut shrimp but I will eat it from Lara's any day of the week! Making it a point to return to try their dinner menu as well.

Enjoyed my tender prime rib. My party also enjoyed their sea scallops and whole fish. Service was attentive and friendly. Sat by the window with views of the marina.

We attended a wedding reception here and this place has the most gorgeous location. It's right by the water, and the view is spectacular at sunset. The food was very good and the servers were very attentive. There was a set menu with choice of entree and dessert. What we had.. + Ribeye steak - good seasoning but was a little tough. But overall, still tasty. + Fettuccine with prawn - the prawns were succulent and delicious. + Cheesecake - yummy + Tiramisu - tasty and very moist Highly recommend this place for special events.

All I can say is this is not the fine dining restaurant you are expecting for when it comes to service. The place and ambiance is perfect, no questions about that. The food was served with elegance and very delicious. I just hope they can improve the service especially during their peak hours. No water refills and Not a single follow up on our table during our entire stay. I have to go the front get our check and ask for some to go boxes. Telling your customers sorry because you're busy is not an excuse. And to top that, please tell your servers not to charge our credit cards on top of the cash tips that's already given. Very bad! Good thing my bank sent me a copy of my transactions on my email. Or else he could have gotten away with it.

Our meal was prepared to perfection. The servers were attentive but not hovering over us. The ambiance is fantastic with a great view of the harbor.

This was our second time at Laura's Fine Dining. The views of the marina from the dining room, make the meal that much more enjoyable. We had calamari, clam chowder, prime rib, which was a special, and spaghetti with meatballs. Everything was delicious. Bread came with our service, unfortunately it was extremely burnt, and you could see where they tried to scrape the burnt parts off the loaf.
