Made a couple of purchases here. Product selection is good but inventory seemed old. I would’ve liked to browse a bit longer but I felt harassed by the staff there the last time I went. I wrote it off as a one-off experience until I went back and confirmed that the discriminatory and unwelcoming environment towards women and people of color are just their normal business practices. I will not come back to this store and will actively tell others to avoid this business.

The best. The attendants make good recommends. All the right products. The owner is helpful and present. I love the smells. I purchase several key products here, routinely.

Went into this store a few months ago, I was going to buy a lot of make up and Oribe products. I was using one of the foundation testers to see which one matched my skin. The older lady finally came by to help shade match me but held on to the tester as if I was going to steal it and didn't put it back in its place. Instead walked away with it. Made me feel so unwelcome and discriminated. Based on others reviews, I see the same thing happened to them. Will not be going back to this store for sure. And I was so excited to see a brand that is rare to find in stores. Will be contacting that brand and letting them know what happened.

This beauty supply is AMAZING! I love that they carry all of my favorite skincare lines and are never out of stock of anything. They have all the local brands as well so I really love a local spot that supports local businesses as well. If you are in the area don't miss this store! You will find some nice treasures you didn't know you needed.

My sister introduced me to this place when I visited her in LA. I love it! The employees are friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Dont be afraid to work with the employees, they really know their products and have great suggestions at all different price points. My biggest suggestion is to be nice to the employees and let them help you. You will be rewarded with wonderful samples to take home. 🤗 Can't say enough great things about this place! Now if only they would move to Seattle...

I should have looked at the Yelp Reviews before driving from the South Bay. I went to buy a moisturizer product that I had been able to get online from Amazon, but I wanted to support a local business. larchmontbeauty.com had the price of the moisturizer at a 19% discount. The owner charged at the regular price, and when I showed him t,he lower price at larchmontbeauty.com, he said that "it's a different company than the store and we don't match the price". Huh??? Larchmont Beauty Center Retail store at 208 N Larchmont Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90004 is a different store from larchmontbeauty.com? He tried to explain the difference away by saying that they charge $9 for shipping. At the top of the website, it says "Free shipping with every purchase over $99". I would have bought 2 moisturizers from the store and asked for him to match the price, but he stood firm, so I decided to take my business elsewhere. Just like the other reviews said, the old guy at the counter is rude! Epic fail small business -- DO BETTER!

Man, this place has everything. A salon in back and more hygiene and beauty supplies than you can shake a stick at. Larchmont Beauty Center is kind of a depot for hair and skin products. You can find both the mundane and very high-end products that are often only available at the associated store or online. One example: The Art of Shaving line. Very hard to find outside of one of their shop or online, but here it is. Being a beauty store, of course, they don't have just 2 types of nail clipper, they have 8. Not 3 nail files, but 9. If you are a very picky customer, this is your place to shop. Also, besides some of the more upscale products I'm familiar with, they also seem to carry some local brands that I'm unfamiliar with. I got a really nice bar of soap with a patchouli-forward fragrance that I'm quite fond of. Going through this store can easily take an hour: the shelves are close together and TALL. The employees asked if they could help me without being overbearing, which is a definite plus in my book. So, of all the beauty-oriented stores on Larchmont, this would be my go-to.

Well, I'm back at my favorite beauty supply in the village. I just picked up these awesome products this brush by the Prima rocks and the handcream is awesome. The owner is always so helpful and friendly Thanks

Ordered online and they sent OLD product. This isn't even an old item, but their product is, packaging is old and the box is yellowed. SCAM!

The is the ultimate beauty supply store. It has products that I didn't know existed. The lady who works there is the best because she's so kind, polite, knowledgeable, and proactive. In 10 seconds, she knew exactly which product to give me when I explained what I needed. She even remained kind, polite, knowledgeable, and proactive while simultaneously working the cash register, answering the store telephone, and enduring the heavy breathing down her neck by the old man, whom everyone in Yelp is complaining about. She deserves 5 whole stars. However, the old man is ruining this store's review ratings with his overt rudeness toward her and the customers. He lost one star for his store. Shame.

I loved my first time in this store, I did not get her name but a woman who works there was so sweet and polite she even offered to show me how to use certain hair accessories on my hair. The staff there is very welcoming they have so much it's a bit overwhelming in a good way ! They have many products from France/Europe. You can find anything here I loved it and will be coming back. They even give a little bag of samples :)

I left this place with my feelings hurt because I went out of my way to support a local business when I normally buy my toiletries at Bloomingdale's online (where I don't have to interact with anyone). Decided to pay a lil extra and I regret it. The old man at the register was super rude to me. I walked up with my toothpaste and said "just this please " and he ignored me for the longest minute of my life. Like we both just stood there as he ignored me. My partner and I are Mexican and visibly gay so my first instinct was to think that's why he was ignoring me and he also didn't say anything after I paid (like thank you). I didn't want to believe that was true but I feel validated by the other reviews about customer service on here. Multiple ppl said the same thing about this particular man's behavior. So save your money and support a different small business. It's not a pleasant or relaxing experience, the prices aren't great, it's crowded and small.

This place carries so many products! Instantly when you get inside, you'll see these towering shelves of all things beauty related. To shampoos, nail care, skin care, hair care, candles, perfumes, you name it. They have it. I also love how they even carry a few selections of minis since it's sometimes hard to know if the product will work for you. I got lost in trance looking at everything they had. Service could have been better though. While I was in line, the man who was ringing up a guest pretty much gave her the "take it or leave it" attitude. And when asked about the policy he straight up said no returns or exchanges. understandably so, especially since we are still in the pandemic, that makes total sense. However the way he communicated that was a bit rude. This review is really for the products they carry, but service really lacks.

Larchmont Beauty Center is fully stocked with wonderful products. It's a great place to shop for yourself or for a gift, and they offer free gift wrapping. Gea was very helpful and guided me through the store. She was familiar with all the products, and provided descriptions and benefits of the items I was interested in with patience and kindness. She helped me choose skin care, make-up, body serum, candles, fluoride free toothpaste, and perfume. All of the products are exceptional and reasonably priced. I highly recommend a visit to this lovely store.

What's with the old man at the register?I've bought a few things here over the past few years. He always makes me feel like im not worthy of a smile, a thank you or anything that makes me feel welcome in the store. My very last time at the store i was looking for a tweezer. There was a few near the cash register. They were pretty expensive so i asked if they had anything cheaper. Without a word, he pointed at the display of expensive tweezers. I say thank you and i put back the expensive tweezer on the display. I walk around the store preparing to leave when i notice an other display full of cheap tweezers!! I like to give people the benefit of the doubt but this man has been here for years and i doubt he's unaware the store carries many kinds of tweezers. I've had it. Bye bye Larchmont beauty shop!

I come here for nail polish. They are well stocked and carry many different brands. They always have the popular colors in stock. This place rarely has sales so expect to pay full retail price.

Beautifully stocked with all kinds of high end shampoos, conditioners, hair products. Lots of facial products, candle's & nail products, etc. Great customer service, they really know what they're talking about & selling. Only beauty supply I shop.

Back in the long long ago I used to love coming to this charming and well-stocked store with great (and authentic) products. I am now happy to report that online ordering from them is the next best thing! Their inventory is large and they always have what I am looking for. They are responsive and confirm my order almost instantaneously. I placed an order on Friday and it was in my mailbox (free shipping) on Monday. They package up all my products with great care. As far as the grumpy owner, sometimes you get what you give. He has always been super nice to me and wait for it... funny.

8:38AM on a Saturday they are not open yet signs on door say they will open at 8:30 as well as online it says 8:30am. Disappointed to have driven here from downtown and have it be closed.

I had the lucky pleasure of wandering into this most amazing beauty store. Floor to ceiling beautiful rows of the most amazing selection of beauty products ever. They have curated a fantastic variety of excellent beauty lines. You'll be in awe once you walk in and better yet - they are polite, friendly and offer excellent customer service. Shop has been there for 30 years! These are the exact kind of entrepreneurs we should support folks!

Hair God! Fred Herdt is a "hidden gem" literally hidden in the back room of the famous Larchmont Beauty Center. I moved to the area and for the last 6 months have been doing an hour drive to my old stylist because I just don't trust new people with my hair. On a recommendation, by a trusted friend, I found him. He is amazing with color, amazing with scissors and his blow out skills are unicorn level. If you are in need of a fresh new look or a new stylist, call Fred!!

I absolutely, hands down adore this place. The buyer has curated a great core inventory supplemented by every cool new product I've ever read about and searched for here. As an executive in the beauty industry, I don't find the prices too high! They sell expensive things, they are not overpriced... these are two clearly different things. As for the owner (whom others have pointed out, works at the register), I find him hilarious, kind of like the "soup natzi" of beauty!!!! You gotta have a sense of humor and not take it all so seriously! I highly recommend this place if you want the newest, most innovative beauty products, candles, perfumes etc. etc.

I've been coming here for 15 yrs..I walked in on Thursday afternoon and noticed a woman, Reno Glynn, cutting hair in the back area. Turns out she offers full styling services. Reno took me today for cut/base color/partial highlights. She was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. My hair looks terrific and now I have a new hair stylist!! Highly recommend her...especially if you didn't even realize she was there!!

A few things have changed since I wrote my first review of Larchmont Beauty Center in 2010. I'm thirty-two, and have both more interest and more money to blow on fanciful beauty products than I did at twenty-four. I also live in the neighborhood now, and have a lot of love for the local businesses. I know I benefit from the charm and convenience of this brick and mortar shop. Which is all to say I'm sorry I was a brat and said that hair detangler was cheaper on Amazon! I don't even buy beauty products on Amazon! Please forgive me. I actually don't like all the cosmetics stores that have popped up on Larchmont over the years--I know there are zoning issues here, but instead of a million beauty/candle/juice shops, can we get one fucking bar?--but Larchmont Beauty Center is wonderful, an institution with an enormous selection and a knowledgeable, friendly staff. I don't buy a ton of beauty stuff, but I've come in a handful of times over the last couple of years, and have had consistently good experiences. The store is sizable, but it's a lot smaller than a Sephora or the cosmetics section of a department store. I guess that means there must be less product selection, but honestly, I haven't noticed. This place has everything, and it's a lot easier to navigate than a jam-packed Sephora, or a department store where there are separate representatives for every brand. The people here are super nice. I've gotten great help on a couple occasions, from a man who knows way more than I do about cosmetics. He pointed me in the direction of a great eyeliner and a long-lasting make-up sponge. He also helped me pick out a Christmas gift for my brother's girlfriend, highlighting some cult hit beauty products. Check-out is easy--the service is warm, and everything gets packaged nicely. I hang out on Larchmont a good amount now, and I think my beauty strategy from now on will be to walk into Larchmont Beauty Center on occasion looking mildly confused. They always have whatever I'm looking for, as well as mysterious, marvelous products I never knew I needed.

At first i was a bit discouraged by the bad reviews, but decided to come in anyways since every other store in Hollywood is currently out of orange hair dye. I showed up around 9:50am & they had already opened the shop up early! I asked the man behind the counter for the dyes i needed & left with 2 beautiful shade at a good price! ($7.99 & $12.99 per bottle). I'm not really sure as to why everyone says that the product in this shop taxed, they seemed just about average to me (but also it might just be the dyes). Will definitely come again soon!!

I always get the worst feelings when I come into this store(which is always out of convenience). Feels like that scene in Pretty Woman when she goes to the shop on Rodeo Drive for the first time. I am always followed (closely) and stared at the entirety of my time there by the employees(on top of the 40 cameras throughout the shop, what do they not work?). I get it I get it it's a beauty shop with lots of merch but holy sh*t is it extremely awkward and uncomfortable. And I always spend $100+, regretfully. They are definitely overpriced and who knows how long their products have been on the shelves. But alas it's where my boss sends me for his skin products. Otherwise I'd never step foot in the likes of this shitty shop. The only thing I'll give em is that I love there pink deco plastic bags, very much my "aesthetic". I'd like to note that I've read a lot of reviews referring to the staff only being nice to "straight white people", I am a Caucasian woman with light eyes and light hair, they're just assholes! Also, NO REFUNDS.

This is the best beauty supply store ever! They have an amazing variety of high-end products and keep up with the latest innovations. Fred and all the rest of the staff are very accommodating, friendly, and knowledgeable. I buy all my beauty products here because it's not only a super store, but I also like supporting family-run small businesses.

I have shopped at Larchmont beauty supply since I moved to Los Angeles in 1995. I love the selection of products and the brands they carry. The store is clean and well organized and the prices on the high side but fair. I have not been in the store since the pandemic started. I had stopped in Larchmont the other day got a coffee next door at Starbucks and decided to go inside I was going to buy some beauty products for my niece and one thing for myself. Went to the counter and was overcharged. The ancient homophobic Persian man at the counter told me that the products had been missed priced. It's the law in the state of California that you have to charge the customer whatever price they've put on the product even if it's wrong. It's not my fault they miss marked the price and I have no way of knowing if this true or if he was he charging me more because he doesn't like queers. I've always felt a weird vibe from him and his wife and this is the last time I'll step foot in their store. I ordered the products from Amazon.

I hesitate to leave bad reviews for small businesses but forget this place. They follow you around like you're shoplifting and stare at you like a pervert until you leave the store. I only shopped here out of convenience; hoping that the more I did, the customer service would become better. It's been a year and I won't ever be back. I'm sure all of the five star reviews on here are from the owners friends.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE The rude owner at the cash register needs to lighten up his attitude, you are sitting there giving your customers attitude wearing fancy cloths but it seems you aren't happy with life, lighten up and show some respect to your customers you old clown. Did I mention the price I paid was $10 more than other stores? SHOP ONLINE PUT OWNERS LIKE THIS IN THEIR PLACE! I have other places to spend my money and not have to be given an attitude as I am paying.

This was my local beauty shop growing up and for the past 25 years I've had nothing but fantastic service and wonderful products. I finally decided to try their salon services and I could not be happier that I did. I love my new haircut!

The old guy at the counter was just rude. And, you don't have to give your money to rude businesses. This is LA. You can find anything in multiple places. The store also smelled terrible.

Worst costumer service ever ! There is this old man at the cashier and he does not even bother to act " a lil "nice . His mode is more like an " i don't give a s.it about you even if you are buying something from us " . Price range are ok on some products , it is over priced in general for sure .. i wonder how they did survive this business for 20 something years ! Not a friendly environment, it makes you feel afraid to ask a simple question . If you are not a people's person please do not bother to be in a business that you will have to have a continuously contact with them . I was very nice and i said have a nice day when i was leaving, he did not even bother to say you too!! So this one star review goes for their very unfriendly and unprofessional behavior..

The Best Selection I used to live near Larchmont Beauty Supply. Now I live near LAX, but still make pilgrimage once a year to buy Debborah Lippman nail polish or their hair clips. The staff i very knowledgeable. I never found them rude, as others have mentioned. The owner can be a little stern. But i have to say, I have never seen another place that is this well stocked.

The store has so much variety of every type of skincare one can think of. Its a very cute store and clean. I was greeted upon entry and the gentleman behind the counter was so nice and helpful. He even gave me couple of samples. Very welcoming. I will definitely be coming back, Highly recommend :)

I never want this shop to go. I grew up hanging out on Larchmont village and this shop's been a fixture of the community. Thank you for making my gift-buying experience a breeze. I came in, had no idea what to buy, asked the courteous, helpful man at the cashier for his recommendations and he hand-picked the perfect products. Thank you for the thoughtful and beautiful gift-wrapping as well. Phenomenal experience and service. Love LB.

Larchmont Beauty Center is a wonderful store in a wonderful area. They have a great variety of brands. John is helpful and knows his products. I always enjoy coming her to discuss new products and get great advise and great suggestions from John. Keep up the good work!

They have a good assortment of brands and products here but the service is bad and unpleasant enough that I wouldn't return. Given the plethora of options both online and in stores, I don't see why I should contribute to a business that's rude to my face.

Very happy to see that Larchmont Beauty is back open for shopping after curbside pickup hours for COVID. This place has such a great selection of products. I've picked up Oribe shampoo, Mario Badescu masks, Malin & Goetz face oil, California Baby hand soap, and great hairbrushes and hairbands. The man at the cashier is always lovely to me and very knowledgeable about his store. I love to support this small business as an alternative to huge beauty chain stores.

I've read many of the reviews here and I understand the writers' points of view. I wanted to note that there is a lady who is working with the owner, as a sales person. She is incredibly knowledgeable and super patient with Mr. Less-than-Social Butterfly, who owns the store. It turns out he's pretty knowledgeable too but she is exactly what Larchmont Beauty Supply needs. Maybe you'll stop over there again and give them another try. Support local businesses when you can.

Didn't find the older man at the register warm at all. Nice place to find perfumes and beauty care, but not too friendly. You'll get better customer service at Nordstroms. I see a lot of other customers are complaining about the owner's disrespectful attitude he directs toward different groups of people (i.e gay, POC). At this point, more may need to be done in terms of addressing his business practices. It's unacceptable and archaic.

They have a great variety of brands including some of my favorites like Caudalie and Kiehl's. They also have Voluspa candles, I got the Amber Lumiere one and it smells really good! The attendants were super nice and helpful!!

They have a really great selection for a neighborhood beauty supply shop, but sometimes it's a bit overpriced. I've been pretty much ignored the times I've come into the shop, no one has asked me if I needed any help or had any questions, which can be a blessing sometimes. No one likes to be followed like they're a criminal or hounded, right? But one time I really needed help and the person at the counter was chatting a long, long time with another customer and I just lost patience and left. I just didn't have a lot of time to wait that day. I appreciate that they carry some salon-only brands, but I found the prices are better on Amazon for some items. As long as you're a smart shopper, you'll fare well.

I love this store. The selection is incredible and the sales staff are very knowledgeable about every product in the store. They have products you cannot buy anywhere else and it's a family environment and they treat you like a member of the family. Larchmont beauty is my favorite addiction

Very very bad hairdresser!! Unprofessional!! Uses very cheap products and harms the hair! Highlights were done 1 cm away from the roots, which in 3 weeks looked like after 2-3 months! Highlighting is 80$ and in the end of baaad work asked for 120!! Worse place I have been in my whole life!!

Amazing selection of all kinds of skincare, haircare, and beauty products. From trendy of the moment brands and veteran old school staples, the merchandising is so thoughtfully curated to reflect different preferences. Although I'm familiar with a lot of beauty products, I still find myself needing a little bit of guidance, especially when I'm in the market for something new. So grateful for the amazing customer service from Gia. Not only did she know her inventory, but I also felt like she approached the conversation in such a personal manner, explaining the scientific benefits of each product-- something that your rarely if ever receive from other big beauty stores. With her wealth of knowledge and passion for skincare, I left with a sense of confidence with my purchase and also some good reccs for future skincare investments.

These guys are a cross between an Ulta and a Sephora. They have almost everything you can possibly think of and I absolutely love them. Walking distance from my apartment which makes this place very dangerous...at least to my pocketbook. They have all the newest collections of OPI, ESSIE and Deborah Lippmann which I absolutely love because not even the Ulta up on Santa Monica and La Brea is up to date on the newest collections. Body care, skin care, hair care, make up....so many different brands that are even too many to mention. The staff are all knowledgeable and helpful but not in your face "BUY SOMETHING!!!" pushy. Yep, they have me hooked!

I absolutely love this beauty supply store. They have everything I need! It is a bit pricey, but I don't mind splurging every now and then. They carry all the Essie and OPI nail polishes I could ever want. Lots of selection. It's in a very nice area with lots of other shops around. Larchmont Beauty Center has every item you can think of. I feel comfortable saying that this is my favorite beauty store in ALL of Los Angeles. Some of my favorite brands that they carry include the following: Claudie, Moroccan Oil, Brazilian Blow Out, Dr. Murad, NARS, Dr. Jart. They have everything I need in one place. They also have a wide variety of sheet face masks, nail polish, hair styling tools, candles, and body washes. Additionally, they sell Tom Ford fragrances and Grande Lash!!

I was contemplating writing this as I've been going to this store for years without any issues but I felt that it needed to be addressed. I came in with a friend yesterday, Dec. 26th, to help him pick out a candle. I specifically took him here because I love their candle selection. When we were done picking out his candle, I decided to buy a lip scrub so I picked one up and headed to the register to pay. I smiled at the man sitting there but was met with an unwelcome glare. I was taken aback since I've never seen him before and have only been helped by the lovely woman who is usually in the store. While I compared the two lip scrubs to see which one I wanted to buy, the man stood up and watched me like a hawk like he suspected I was going to steal one of them. I didn't say anything because I didn't want to jump to conclusions as I've never experienced this at this store in the past. However, I asked my friend after we left and he did say he noticed that happening as well. To top it off, he was only nice to the people who came in that were most likely family (they were greeted with kisses and hugs) and didn't even say anything as I said thank you. My friend purchased his candle but was also met with similar behavior. This experience has really disappointed and saddened me since I have been a patron of this store for years and come in with my sister whenever we need a specific beauty product. I don't live very close but I raved about this store to my friend and was very excited to bring him to one of my favorite places. I am also super sad that this happened the day I brought a first time customer that may not come back after witnessing what happened. The only reason why I've given an extra star is because I do still have love for Larchmont Beauty but I may take pause on whether or not I'll buy anything again when I'm back in the area. I probably will eventually since the inventory is amazing, but I'd probably walk out if I see the man instead of the friendly faces I'm used to.

A wonderful, convenient one-stop shop with very helpful employees. They have such a large selection of high-end beauty supplies. I stopped by for rose water spray and was surprised to see they have it all - nail polish, shampoo, masks, conditioning treatments, even hair scrunchies. They graciously gave me some wonderful samples, too. It reminds me of the type of shops you find in European countries. I'm so glad I found this place.
