VERY SAD UPDATE LO location now CLOSED. Rick gave his employees one week notice that the location would have its last day of service on Monday January 6th… PIG OUT One of my favorite sandwich shops in Portland moved into my neighborhood a couple years back and I’m even more smitten with Lardo since the first day I got a Porchetta sando from Rick at his food cart. The sandwiches can be made as a salad instead and I love love love to get the Porchetta on greens instead of bread. Both my daughter and I adore the Pork Meatball Banh Mi. This last time we had it, the meatball patties were extra flat and that lended well to easier eating. It’s a pity Lardo isn’t open for breakfast or have a breakfast truck on weekdays. I would enjoy having an Egg Rick Muffin more often if I could get one earlier in the day. The PhoRench Dip is unique and I love the broth that comes with it. I leave the hoisin sauce off, but keep the sambal on. Sweet meat be damned. The Nashville “hot” fried chicken is BOMB, but this last time it wasn’t spicy. Even my spice-challenged daughter could eat it. Will still try again when I’m needing a hot chicken fix, though. One of my favorite ways to order their burgers is to sub fries for bread. Waiting for a PigMac to come out so I can have two all meat patties, Lardo sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a Dos Hermanos bun. *UPDATE* The Pig Mac is here and it’s FANTASTIC! The crispy edges are perfect and the sauce is tangy. Get yours while it’s on their menu. A quarter flounder with cheese would also be grand for next year’s Lent.

The meatball dip was great. The dip was a spicy marinara sauce! We shared the Lardo fries with Parmesan sprinkles! I also enjoyed a on-tap beer! It was a fun lunch and the service was very efficient! We ordered food at the counter and we were quickly served! I am looking forward to trying other menu options.

$13 for just a burger with no fries is a bit pricey, but it is a REALLY good burger. I am sure location factors into the price. Guy at the register was super nice and helpful. Atmosphere has that standard "modern hip industrial" feel that you can find everywhere else. Extremely clean, so points there. All in all, food was good; I might come back to try their pork meatball sandwich if I'm in the area.

Overview/Service: Lardo is extremely tasty and savory. This was my first time at their new location and it went great. The cashier was very helpful. We beat the early Saturday dinner crowd and were severed quickly. Food: We got a couple sandwiches: 1) Korean pork shoulder it was delicious and had a good spicy level. 2) Kumar burger with an extra patty and bacon. I recommend it med-well. It was juicy, flavorful, and not too messy. I enjoyed it! We also ordered their Dirty fries and they have a great taste and mixes well with the pork scraps and marinated peppers. I highly recommend an order.

This place has really great food! It is also in such a cool location and I'm glad they are finally expanding! The prices are pretty fair for the food because it is a decent serving but the food is very filling. They have plenty of seating both inside and outside with a nice bar as well!! Definitely a really cool place for a date night and a great opportunity to try some new and unique sandwiches that are also delicious! I highly recommend especially if you're from out of town! It is a true representation of Portland food.

Google
We tried Lardo for the first time today. Oh my gosh!! So delicious. The burgers are exactly like what you would make at home if you had access to the best beef available and had gone to culinary school. Delicious fries too. I'm a regular now for sure!

We stopped by for lunch on a cold rainy day. The restaurant decor is cool and comfortable with concrete floors and wood accents. We were promptly greeted by friendly staff. Their menu board is huge and easy to read right when you walk in the door. I chose an Italian Tuna Melt $16 A' la Carte-provolone, mamas lil reds, olive tapenade , fennel and caper mayonnaise. I didn't care for the sandwich at all. I didn't complain about it because I probably should have realized it would be a very salty due to the tapenade and the caper mayonnaise. I did mention to the staff it was salty. They also added arugula salad to the sandwich which wasn't listed in the description. The salad had some kind of dressing on it . The tuna which is served tuna salad style, also a ton of salt. Do tuna melts come with salad on top? Not normally. My husband ordered a BBQ Smash Burger $13 A' la Carte- double patty with white BBQ sauce and melted American white cheddar cheese. The burger was delicious but also over salted. I like the Latdo Grassa brand. I have been to several locations maybe my experience was the result of an off day? However, I also know salt is used to cover up the taste of old meat and seafood. Probably will skip this location.

Google
Popped in for Dumpling Week, Lardo is doing a Birria Dumpling, and it was as tasty as expected!! We also ordered the Chefwich, a Taiwanese Fried Pork Chop sandwich, marinated in shallots, soy sauce, black & white pepper, served with pickled mustard green relish and "night market spice blend." It every bit as good as I expected.

Yelp
Lardo is always a must recommend in Portland! The Pho-rench is that sandwich I will never quite stop loving, but it's the rotating chef-wiches that keep me coming back for more. As a Vancouverite, I would kill to have a chain like Lardo in my city -- for now, I'll have to settle for religious visits every time I'm in Portland.

Yelp
Love love love sandwiches and this sandwich shop in Oregon is probably one of my top five!!! Seasonal menu changes but my go and staple is still the meatball sandwich!!! Don't sleep on the fries!! Super friendly staff no matter which location and quality is consistently great no matter which location!! Highly recommended!!

Yelp
They closed permanently. They gave no community announcement and only gave staff 5 days notice

Yelp
Been here several times and the sandwiches have been excellent every time. Tried the Chefwich and that was great too.

Linda B.

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch and loved it. Fried chicken sandwich was delightfully spicy and sweet. Highly recommend. The tuna melt was great. Well skip the fries next time. Nothing to write home about. Friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere.

Yelp
First time eating here. Why did I wait so long?? Excellent No Meatball Sub! I have been craving a meatball sub all week and had no plans to try a non meat one but boy am I glad I did! I couldn't tell it wasn't meat and it had all the flavor this Italian girl loves. Also tried the Pork Meatball Bahn Mi sandwich and the Hot honey chicken sandwich. The bahn mi was very flavorful with the right amount of sauce and spice and while the hot honey had a kick it was also "just right". Delicious crispy herbed fries and some beers rounded out our meal. Great ambiance, cool music and friendly staff. We plan to go back again very soon!

Yelp
The dirty fry's are to die for...I can make a meal out of just them! The service is always fast and courteous

Michael A.

Yelp
Sad to see you close LO location. You were reliably on our rotation. You will be missed.

Noel A.

Yelp
Excellent flavors and texture combinations. Welcoming and quick service and a really clean and open space with lots of seating. There are also options for outdoor seating during the warmer months. So happy to have this as an option out in LO.

Dan S.

Yelp
Due to the 20% tip policy we will not patronize this restaurant. I decide the tip by the service I get. Good luck!

Angela B.

Yelp
Saw some really good looking sandwiches, but a restaurant that doesn't have tomatoes? You serve hamburgers...how do you not have tomatoes. Left without ordering anything...get some tomatoes

Yelp
The owners of Lardo have to be the biggest idiots. Why is American cheese on any of their burgers? I said cheddar on my burger and they put American. Way to ruin a good piece of beef and pouring fake cheese on a bad patty, you people should be ashamed of yourselves, the Pigmac. I still don't get that. The Truffle burger was a work of art and they got rid of that for some Velveta and a nasty pork patty. I'm from LA. Oregon actually has amazing food. But Lardo, American cheese? Hold on. Do ya have Catchup for my prime rib? Oh, and Burgerville puts cheddar on their burgers. For $15 bucks ya'd think we'd get real cheese? Get your shit together!!!

Patrick s.

Yelp
My first time trying Lardo. Overall I was very pleased. I had ordered the meatball dip. It came out quick and hot with a marinara dipping sauce. Good texture, good size. I was satisfied for sure. I also had a side potato salad. It seemed a bit dry for my liking. Also at 4 dollars I think it's a tad expensive for what you get. I'm looking forward to coming back and trying there other delicious looking sandwiches. Go check them out

Wendy M.

Yelp
A casual place with spectacular food! Bring an appetite, the family and find a sandwich you each will enjoy! One of my faves is the Pho-Rench dip. The sides are also awesome, as well as the cocktails. The staff is always nice and you'll be able to find lots of seating in their beautiful LO location. Enjoy! _wendys_world_

Yelp
The food is decent and I would otherwise give 4 stars but Lardo is doing something that is unacceptable. You can't place a pickup order unless you pay 20% tip. That's right, forcing customers to leave 20% tip on a pickup order... Not sure how anyone thinks this is acceptable. Tips are not a replacement for you to pay your workers a competitive wage. Increase the prices by 20%, but advertising a price and then forcing a 20% tip is ridiculous. Companies that adopt these practices must be avoided. We should not reward this type of business behavior.

Trina H.

Yelp
The hush puppies were some of the best I've had in a while. I would pass on the fries as they were dried out. The chefwich was excellent. We will go back for the sandwich and hush puppies.

Avery J.

Yelp
was excited to see this portland staple come to lake oswego! i love their sandwiches - big portions, big flavor. a bit pricey, but worth a visit.

Julia A.

Yelp
Love this place! If you are craving large portions of elevated comfort food + adult drinks - this is your place! Food was perfectly cooked and hot when served, came out fast and was fresh. Hush puppies were perfectly cooked - don't be scared of the Jalapeños, it had a small kick but not over the top spicy, the side of whipped butter tamed. Fries were gone first - perfectly fried and seasoned well. See you again soon Lardo

Joe F.

Yelp
I'm updating my review and dropping to a two. When it first opened the food and service was way better, but it's regressed a bit. Had the fried chicken sandwich again, but the bun is way too small for this sandwich and the fries were a bit soggy. Also, prices have gone up, but feels like we are getting less

Sean P.

Yelp
I'm not so high on the hog when it comes to Lardo. I will say, the food is good. I've been several times for their Pork Meatball Bahn Mi and my wife loves the Italian Tuna Melt. It's because I've frequented this location that I feel qualified and compelled to say that the overall experience is often a disappointment. Service is slow no matter what time of day I go even when foot traffic seems light. I've tried to order to-go twice and both times were a challenge, which may be user error but when I try to call for help, no one answers the phone. Staff are pleasant in-person and the atmosphere is appropriately branded but don't think you can pop in and out for a quick lunch break.

Yelp
Korean Pork Shoulder Sandwich: The Kimchi is very good in combination with the pork shoulder. The chili mayo is what really makes all the difference though. It is very good. The sandwich is a little spicy. I found that all the ingredients were mainly in the center of the bread and all around the edges it was dry. Bronx Bomber: Very good flavors, but found that the amount of ingredients and the size for $15 is not worth it. You can make a sandwich like this that would be way better at Subway. Dirty Fries: The herbs and Parmesan make these fries stand out. I really enjoyed the marinated peppers but thought that the pork scrapes were not that good. They were dry and hard to chew. Bonus- the portion is huge!

Yelp
At the time, a sandwich sounded fantastic and having been to Lardo years ago, I decided to visit once more, this time, the Lake Oswego location. The interior is so nice and welcoming, spacious and well decorated. The staff was very friendly and helpful, even providing recommendations. I ordered the Smokey Cubano, my girlfriend getting the Beeria Grilled Cheese. Both were great, however, the Cubano was a tad bit dry and by the last few bites, was a little hard to get down, even with a drink. The Crater Lake Rootbeer was fantastic and I highly recommend that as a N/A drink. Unfortunately, even with great food, I find Lardo to be a bit too expensive, the total reaching $50 for 2 sandwiches and 2 drinks. Great spot, though, for a sandwich splurge. Just plan on spending a bit if you stop by.

Yelp
NASHVILLE HOT CHICKEN SANDWICH $$ On any given day I'm a SUCKER for a sandwich, fried chicken, and of course a fried chicken sandwich, so you best BELIEVE I was gonna be trying this one. The hot honey is a nice and unique edition with the bread. When you got a lot of honey with the bread it was a really good bite. The bun nothing too crazy & if I had a critique, it might be here. People, get your bread to be top notch and you won't have a single critique with a sandwich ever!! The chicken was VERY crispy, even tho it had hot honey and dukes Mayo. I was very surprised and appreciated this. Also, thicccc piece of meat, I mean look at it! It was def spicy. Again, not too overwhelming with it, but very present haha. Best thing to do is wash it down with the lardo fries. *LARDO FRIES Fried herbs + Parmesan + large serving + crispy & cooked to perfection. SO good. *PHO'RENCH DIP Consists of tender shaved beef, hoisin (star), sambal mayo (um, yum!) Thai basil, pho broth, sprouts, cilantro & mint. Okay, so this is one of my husbands favorite sandwiches ever now. It's sweet and spicy. Has good bread that holds up to the sandwich. Note to self: Extra hoisen sauce next time cause it's sooo good with the steak. The Pho broth has a bit of a spice which is nice and not too overpowering. I had the jalepeno on my bites and the pho broth and it was totally okay BUT notably spicy. The sandwich is literally delicious on its own too if spice is something you steer clear from. 〰Personal note: I'm one of those unfortunate souls that cannot tolerate cilantro **tragic** and so to my dismay, this was a little tooooo cilantro-y for me, which is why it is not ranked as my favorite sandwich ever too. HOWEVER, I will say, even with that weird enzyme I have where cilantro tastes like soap, this sandwich was good. So that's saying a lot about it.〰

Yelp
It just horrible wronged food any humans' can consume, prepare with processed meat, dripping fried oil and the imitation salty cheese taste fries

Stephen M.

Yelp
Horrible service. A friend and myself ordered two sandwiches. It took almost 30m to get my sandwich while my friend received his sandwich within 5-10m. I sat there watched three other parties get their food before me. I asked twice about my order and one of the servers said it's coming. After i complained again, Still didn't come so i asked again only to hear there was a lay off? Do I care? There were four people working. No..."So sorry, what can we do to make it right". Nothing. It's like we were bothering them The people there hate their jobs. No smiles, no thank you just taking your money and flipping sandwiches. I get my sandwich and it's cold. The woman is especially unfriendly just threw my sandwich down and walked away. Do I need anything else maybe ask?? Yes B my damm fries!! Those came about 5 min later. No "thank you" no "I'm sorry". Place had the sad vibe. Won't come back.

Melissa L.

Yelp
Lardo Dirty Fries. Yumm, if you haven't had this item yet. You are missing out. Fresh Fries with Pork Scraps, Marinated Peppers, Fried Herbs, and Parmesan. The Fried Herbs that I could recognize was Rosemary and Sage, could be other in there. It was so amazingly great! Super delicious, I had it for a meal, with leftovers for another beautiful day to enjoy. The customer service is top notch, great people. One of the ladies recommended the special burger sauce with my Dirty Fries. Kicked it up a notch on more flavor. Get some!

Kaitlin G.

Yelp
Outstanding sandwich. I ate the Korean pork shoulder sandwich, lardo fries, and a cider. Couldn't have been happier with the main course. The fries left a little to be desired, a little too dry for me but ketchup cured that. I would definitely come back.

Private I.

Yelp
Originally gave it a 5 because their old chicken sandwich was the best in the state. Then they removed it for God knows what reason... used to go weekly for their chicken sandwich, now I've been once since they removed it.

Matthew L.

Yelp
This place is awesome. Always clean and welcoming. My only complaint is they gotta crank that AC on hot days, but it's never terrible. Happy hour beer is awesome too. I haven't had a sando I didn't liked yet. Highly recommend the Korean pork shoulder. Also, Dylan is their golden guy. Super consistent. He's friendly and accommodating.

Helen L.

Yelp
Delicious! Love the Bahmi sandwich and pho dip!!!! Consist quality and service Highly recommended!

Nick K.

Yelp
First thing to eat in Oregon, Lardo was the right place. The Korean pulled pork was so crispy and flavor full along with the spicy mayo, cilantro and kimchi is the perfect compliment to the pork. I was curious about the macaroni salad which had ham & pineapple which was so good. Going forward I need to add these two secret ingredients to enhance my macaroni salads. They had some items that they were out of stock in terms of their sandwiches, but glad we got to try this item which did not disappoint.

Cristina C.

Yelp
First time I've come to this location. It's much more spacious than the Portland locations, with lots of indoor seating. I was thrilled to see the pig ears back on tge menu, I haven't had them since before covid! Very clean and welcoming atmosphere. Staff are friendly and check on you throughout your meal, eventhough It's a bus your own table facility. Highly recommend!

Willie H.

Yelp
@lardopdx is the absolute best. Their mortadella sando is perfection and above all expectations. This place is always my #1 rec for out of towners who have time for just 1 awesome lunch. Today, short staffed, they warned me of a pre delay. I said it was fine. 20min later, waiter came by and filled wife's lemonade. I said "when does the beer pitcher come around?" Totally joking, worker laughed, it was all good. THEN!!! This Golden God of a sandwich worker comes out with a FREE half pint of my @eclipticbrewing Sunburst. Are you kidding me?? Customer For Life. You can't beat Lardo, friends!!

Willie A.

Yelp
Great portions and very flavorful. We ordered the Nashville chicken, mortadella, cheeseburger, and pulled pork sandwiches along with regular fries and hush puppies. All were delicious, with consensus at the table that the mortadella was the best sandwich out of the 4. Hush puppies were delicious, with corn and an added butter dip. Very airy and not too heavy like most puppies. All were well seasoned. Service was great. Only draw back was we had to clean our own table (outside) but it's not worth dinging them a star. We'll go back, for sure.

Alan B.

Yelp
Interesting place. Service was REALLY slow for my lunchtime sandwich order. I was there about 11:15 with no one else in the entire restaurant, and it took nearly 20 minutes to pull my sandwich together. Maybe they are short of kitchen staff. The food was good but I didn't enjoy the huge amount of kimchi relative to pork. As a place that specializes in pork, I'd rather have more meat and more meat flavor. The kimchi and spices were really overwhelming for me. I'll go back and try this place another time, but I hope they can get an order up more quickly.

Nat P.

Yelp
So fire! I got the pork shoulder sandwich and it was immaculate. The pork was so flavorful and cooked perfectly. The bread was crunchy on the outside but soft on the inside. It was my first time coming here and I'll definitely be coming back. Area is nice and clean as well with easy parking

Steve R.

Yelp
I think the sandwiches here are generally very good to great. However, I feel that the Nashville Hot Chicken sando is a misfire. It was so drenched in spicy honey I felt ill after. Felt like I drank a glass of syrup or something. Maybe avoid that one if you're not into a super sweet sandwich.

Charlie T.

Yelp
I am happy that they expanded to the westside of town. These guys have been one of my go to spots for something that is filling and more filling! I liked that I can get my sandwich over fries or salad. For this trip, we ordered a Korean pork shoulder over salad, the 215, and some Lardo fries. I really liked bread texture of the 215 (Philly cheesesteak). It's super flavorful and the meat was tender. The Korean pork shoulder was good as usual. I can't wait for them to set up the outside dining area.

Yelp
Very interesting combinations with punny names! Grabbed a couple sandwiches for a work lunch a where coworkers and I cut the sandwiches to share since we could not decide on what flavors to try! We got the Pho'rench dip, the Pork Meatball banh mi, and the porchetta, with both options of fries. Our favorites were the dip and banh mi. Both super flavorful, the meat was tender. The sauce for the dip was super beefy and the cilantro balanced it really well! I liked the bean sprouts that gave it a subtle crunch. The banh mi was loaded with daikon and carrot, which we loved. The pickling gave it the right amount of acid to cut through the fatty pork. The porchetta had great flavor but was underwhelming compared to the other 2 sandwiches. It was also the thinnest out of the 3. Now the fries.... the potato itself was good and fried well but the toppings didn't really add to them. They needed some kind of sauce and were rather dry, funny enough. The dirty fries had pork ends on it but were very dry and tough. The Lardo fries were good, did not really taste the herbs or Parmesan though? Overall, had a great meal and we are adding it to our lunch options list!

Jennifer P.

Yelp
Run. Don't walk. Order the hot chicken sandwich as a salad. It may be the best thing I have ever eaten.

Chuck S.

Yelp
They make a pretty delicious burger. The cookie was house made daily. Worth another visit for sure!

Amira B.

Yelp
This review is based on the service and their Lardo Fries! That's all we were able to try when we came in here because we were mostly full. The person at the counter was super friendly. He talked to me for a minute and asked about my day. After we had gotten our fries he check on us again to see if we liked them. The fries itself were very tasty. Not too salty and not over seasoned. They had indoor and outdoor seating but the outdoor patio is enough reason to come here and hang out on a sunny day. I'll definitely be back to try more!

Autumn Lee K.

Yelp
Best grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup EVER, and you have to try the dirty fries Its a bit of a trip but its worth it

Anthony G.

Yelp
Amazing! Big fan of the Banh Mi and the Cuban Sandwich. This is just what Lake Oswego needs! The fries are delicious too!

Liza R.

Yelp
Great creativity in their sandwiches with great quality ingredients. This place does not disappoint! Their menu changes always so every time we come we love to try the new combos. Their cuban is amazing!

Amit S.

Yelp
Food is delicious - like the downtown location. Great space and helpful staff. Had some technical issues with ordering pick up, but Kevin helped place the order over the phone - super responsible and helpful. Will be back!

Gerald M.

Yelp
Super impressed with this new Lardo location in Lake Oswego. Sandwiches are super delicious and packed with great flavors. All of their sandwich flavors are amazing and they also bring new chef inspired sandwiches to their menu often. These are truly sandwich experts and you will love any sandwich you order from them. Their fries are also mouthwatering delicious!
