L' Ardoise

We were a large group of tourists. The chef and the staff were extremely accommodating. The chef himself came out from the kitchen to take our orders as he was the most fluent in English. He was very warm and clearly very passionate about his food which added charm and flair to the whole experience. The Food was fantastic as was desert. The salmon tartare dish with zucchini puree was exciting and refreshing.

We were able to get a table short term on Saturday evening, not so easy at smaller places. We enjoyed professional service, nice and quiet ambience and delicious food full of great flavor. We can recommend this place for honest, fresh cuisine.

My oh my ! Here are Probably the best original dishes reminding you of your grand parents living in the countryside and cooking or baking the old folk's recipes with ingredients you'd think have disappeared forever. Like their pig from Cantal. If you open the door to this original restaurant you will experience a gustatory trip. Wines are awesome. Specific "accords" wine pairing with the tasty food thanks to their precious searching.

Creative food, well prepared in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Fully deserving of its Michelin Bib Gourmand award.

Excellent food, with simple and hearty dishes, cooked perfectly. Some gems on the wine list, however the wines are not served in the best glassware and wine service could have been a bit more pro active.

On an insanely packed night during wine fair weekend in Angers, L’Ardoise dished up exquisitely executed, traditional dishes (oysters, two different terrines, lièvre royale, cote de boeuf, roasted potatoes-carrots-girolles), a really fun wine list and, most notably given the madness, attentive service and warm hospitality. The menu was different from its normal one apparently—a smart move in anticipation of the hungry and thirsty wine-industry hordes—but I have 100% confidence in and would happily come back for the regular, more seasonal menu. Truly an impressive and fun place and staff!

We had a fantastic meal with 6 people at lunch. With no French speakers, we appreciated the friendly & helpful servers and chef. Wonderful place
