Toast to Your Team at These Denver Sports Bars | Eater

"A downtown beer hall that ensures fans get a proper cheesesteak with their pint and shot, specializing in Colorado craft beers rather than East Coast imports. Bartenders are willing to mix up custom whiskey cocktails on demand, making it a convenient spot for transplant fans craving a classic game-day sandwich with local brews." - Vox Creative

I live across the street, I can see the bar from my balcony. I walked over tonight on a Thursday and after presenting my ID they requested a cover charge of $10. I’ve never paid a cover to come drink some beers here as a local resident, I go here all the time. I turned my butt right around and walked to another neighbor bar who doesn’t charge a cover. Not about to pay that, it’s not even a cool bar. Disappointed with the service provided especially visiting fairly frequently. Sorry not sorry, you guys aren’t as hot as you think you are.

Google
Logan what is the best ever. He was so cool and so nice. He got everything right that I wanted and he also gave us lots of great recommendations I cannot advise people to come to this place more.

Leonard Cozad

Google
Horrible place. Got punched in the face by another customer. Didn't hurt me or anything but can I just go somewhere just to enjoy a drink that I paid for in peace?? One and done for me at this place. Hopefully whoever did this to me Karma gets back at you........

Sabrina German

Google
Aubree was absolutely fantastic! One of the kindest and most attentive bartenders I've ever had. She is amazing and I will definitely keep coming back because of her!

Aaron Stash

Google
Logan's the greatest bartender I've experienced in Denver!! This place is Amazing!

I understand why certain rules have to be made, believe me I do. My job is literally making sure the rules are being followed but when you guys have rules about neck tattoos please make exceptions when they ARE NOT GANG RELATED. Also, make sure your staff are agreement with those rules. Letting us in one week and the next not ?? How did we get in for a whole year with no issue the last time literally being a week ago. My friend was a girl with a flower neck tattoo but just this friday we got denied. Seriously what tf are yall doing.

Sophia Mendoza

Google
I went in on a Saturday night with my girls and the vibe was so good! All the bartenders are great but Aubree really made the vibes that much better. She was so sweet and made the night so fun! Definitely will be returning for Aubree!

Google
Seriously needs training on hospitality. Not everything need to be a wwe match. I was simply trying to use the men bathrooms like a men should and a female was in there When a security walked in told her to stop and as she was doing and she said no. I said nothing waiting patiently got the man to finish I was wrongly drug out because the security thought I said something when I was just quietly waiting for a stall that’s one person was doing drugs at and the other was a female. I walked in at the wrong time. All I said was. I was wrongly accused of throwing a first punch was untrue I was to intoxicated to even think of fighting let alone pee. Then I was drug down the stairs like a criminal when I was criminally and confused what was happening.

Yelp
Do you want to have the most miserable time of your life?!? Well don't come here then! Grab all of your friends and your best dancing shoes! This place is awesome! The staff is friendly, prices won't kill your wallet and the music on Saturday will have you dancing.
google avatar

Elise M.

Yelp
This was such a fun place to watch an eagles game on a Sunday! Great prices for drinks on tap and we liked how the bar was set up to funnel people into lines. It's difficult to find seating if you arrive when the game starts but other than that it was perfect.

Yelp
Best Penn State ( and Eagles) bar in Colorado. Their staff are awesome too. Hoping they open the kitchen soon.

Chou L.

Yelp
Went in on Friday night and had Aubree as my bartender! She was amazing and such a vibe!!

Yelp
After dinner at a different spot down the street, and before meeting friends for a show elsewhere, we stopped in here for a quick beer. For a Saturday evening, it was pretty low key which was lucky for the single bartender who was doing a good job of taking care of everyone. Average selection of beers which was a mix of national brands and some local breweries.

Bree M.

Yelp
Rayna is such a cutie bartender the best drinks and Matt security is so nice! I love coming here!

Nevaeh R.

Yelp
Skyler is always so great and makes the best drinks around. He is quick and his customer service is wayyy above average. Definitely will be coming back as long as he's working.

Lauren P.

Yelp
Vibes are always good! Rayna is awesome! Come for the vibes. Stay for the bartenders.

Yelp
Larimer Beer Hall was a fun environment. Not too crowded and the bartender was very attentive. Had some good beer options and all the liquors you would need.

Alex I.

Yelp
The best service I have ever had! The bartender savanna was completely understood the assignment when I asked for water with a lime! She was the sweetest most generous and wholesome person ever!

Yesenia R.

Yelp
Paying to go in is a lil crazy and the music isn't amazing. Many men just standing around waiting for women to dance....

Yelp
No food butttt great for PSU and eagles games. Fly eagles fly on the road to victory

Yelp
Post Rockies win and bar-hopping my friends, we made our way to Larmier Beer Hall to grab a couple brews. PROs: ++ They have a rather impressive selection of tasty local brews on tap. ++ The space is actually really fun. I love the vintage beer can display! ++ Sounds like they have some tasty food for a killer deal. ++ They have a full bar, so beer isn't all that they offer. CONs: -- It was SUPER crowded. Like uncomfortably so. -- Even though it boasts being a beer hall it still maintains a pretty typical downtown bar feel. -- Floor upstairs had lots of spills. Would be hard not too in a space as packed as this. Eh, while Larimer Beer Hall is a nice change to the typical bar scene found downtown - it still maintains quite a bit of that atmosphere. Def an "A-OK" experience.
google avatar

John M.

Yelp
The name implies some Beer experience. Beer in plastic cups WTF who does this. It's not a picnic or a sporting event not a beer hall. Not for me!! Beer in proper glass is proper. It wasn't busy and no reason for plastic cups!!!!
google avatar

Susan M.

Yelp
No complaints so far!! The owner runs the penn state alumni association for Colorado and was so kind! There's no food but there's no need to serve food when you allow your patrons to bring food in from other restaurants. I haven't come here for the night life but the Penn state games to watch.
google avatar

Bailey M.

Yelp
I LOVE Beer Hall!! It's my favorite "club" bar in Denver. The DJs play great music (hip hop/popular music), people are ready to dance, and it's always a good time. It gets very crowded, but that doesn't bother me.

Yelp
Upon entrance with my two cronies, we have come to the conclusion that this establishment is a 1.5/ 5 stars: After puking and rallying, I still did not find it to be a worthy establishment. The floors were sticky, the bathrooms were covered in piss, and the patrons were unfortunately mostly male, and the bouncers were rude and reminded me of my ex boyfriend (who was a d*ck). Anyway, I think that one should instead go to more classy establishment and not the anachronism of a Thursday. Also, this business engages in TAX EVASION!

Laura S.

Yelp
I was jumped and robbed here, upstairs on the dance floor. NOT ONLY THAT, but my cousin got jumped BY THE SAME GIRLS OUTSIDE IN LINE BEFORE WE EVEN WENT IN, and the security guard saw it all. Not only did security let violent people in, they did not help get the 5 girls off of me, when I finally got them off, MYSELF and was trying to leave someone came in and told me the girls were waiting outside for me, so I asked security to walk me to my car to which they told me no. Then I asked to call the cops so I could leave safely and they wouldn't do it, I couldn't because the girls stole my phone. I had to have some random person call the cops for me. If you want to get home safe at the end of the night, don't go here.

Yelp
Terrible experience without even entering this establishment. I was part of a bachelorette party (party of 8) that attempted to enter this bar on 3/27 at approx. 10:15pm. While waiting in line, we were informed by the bouncer that the bar was at capacity. Considering COVID limitations, we were understanding and decided to wait for a table to come available. While we were waiting, another staff member stepped outside and instructed the bouncer to let another large group (approx. 6) into the building that was further back in the line (disregarding the "capacity" limitation). When confronted, the bouncer stated that the group was being let in due to "two of the girls knew bartenders". I asked the bouncer if this constitutes a violation of capacity limits and he was unresponsive and simply dropped his head. Considering business operation in a COVID era.....businesses should be inclusive and consistent with their processes to maintain customer and income flow. For a business to state that they are at capacity, but then violate their capacity limit for exceptions such as "two girls knowing a bartender" I don't understand where the business focus stands. To turn away business from a 8 person, out of town bachelorette party to make an exception for a group who "knows a bartender" does not seem like a strong business move. We however, will never support this establishment.

Yelp
Larimer Beer Hall is definitely one of my favorite bars to come to in Downtown Denver. Whenever anyone asks for a good place to hang out and have drinks, Beer Hall always springs to mind for me. I love this place because they have two floors which are quite different. Upstairs is more like a nightclub with folks dancing and having a good time. Then downstairs people are chilling out and watching sports games. The ambiance in here is always alive, and the bar staff are super friendly and accommodating. In the summer months their outdoor patio is open on the top floor, which is fun to go out on and hang out. If you're in the area and looking to start your night off right, come down to Larimer Beer Hall!
google avatar

Andrew H.

Yelp
They have a decent number of taps here, but what's on the taps is pretty mediocre. The most exotic beers they had were Lagunitas IPA and Odel IPA. Lots of macros on tap too. Interior was clean by very generic and paint-by-numbers. Bartender was nice.

Regan L.

Yelp
I loved this place until I came in on a Saturday and they don't honor their "daily happy hour 3-9pm". The bartender wanted to charge me $9 for a well drink, when the signs inside the bar show $5 for well drinks. I will never come back. The bartender was a extremely rude and argued with me. I suggest you find a new bar to watch the game at. Avoid the grumpy bartender who has longer blonde hair and a mustache.

Yelp
Seems like they have a various range of evaluations and different impressions from the reviews that i see, but this place is definitely one of my places to hang out whenever i'm in Downtown Denver during the weekend for fun. Other secret places that i go to...are 'secrets' but i'm revealing my one of the top 5 jewel places for sure. Since they are very busy during the weekend prime time, you are going to have to expect waiting time in line. As soon as you walk in, you see pretty lights and decorations as well as a huge bar area. I would say that they have a fairly decent number of local beers and some interesting twists to their beers. The second floor is a night club, and their DJs play some trendy music for you 24/7(even 80s,90s, and everything else). The last time i was here, it was during Christmas season and their atmosphere was just gorgeous and everyone had fun. Their food is good too - i've only heard from a lot of mouths because i never really got to try them - and they have a good reputation about their tasty bites. I wish my bartender maybe recommended or have mentioned their special menus(me and my friends are foodies)... But definitely recommend for your fun night in Downtown Denver!

Yelp
We came here after the Gin Mill and loved it! So much cooler and they play really great dancing music. The upstairs is where it's at, though! They have a decent sized dance floor and rooftop access
google avatar

Issabelle F.

Yelp
Larimer Beer Hall is huge! There's a rooftop bar and nightclub upstairs and then a large bar set up downstairs. I strictly came for the drinks, but they do have a food menu if you're looking for some grub. Our group originally started upstairs at the rooftop area but as the sun went down we made our way downstairs and took over a few tables. Since it was a Saturday during St. Patrick's Day weekend, it was crazy busy in here. At first it was a little hard to get drinks or even approach the bar, but I eventually became friends with the bartender which made getting drinks easier throughout the night. We all had such a fun time here! Even though their name states "Beer Hall", I was drinking gin and tonics, but they did just the job and had me feeling really happy the whole night. If you like crowded, loud party atmospheres, then definitely check out Larimer Beer Hall. If you hate crowded, loud party atmospheres, then stay far away.

Yelp
I've been going to Beer hall for years but after tonight I will never go back. They apparently have a "no sandals" rule so they wouldn't let my male friend in who was wearing Birkenstocks. But I got in and immediately saw at least 10+ women in flip flops/sandals. I went outside to ask the bouncer why they didn't let my friend inside when clearly they were letting in lots of other people in sandals and he responded with "well he is a man". Beer hall is incredibly sexist and homophonic (my friend happened to be a gay male) and I will never return. I hope they are sued and shut down for this obviously discriminatory behavior.

Yelp
We popped in on a week night to catch the baseball playoffs. There are plenty of TV's making it a great space to watch sports. Being there on a weeknight, I really appreciated it being much more mellow than I imagine it being on the weekend. My issue really is with the fact this place calls itself a beer hall and yet seemingly half the beers on tap were out. It's like going to a pizza place and they're out of pizzas. It is absolutely inexcusable. That, to me, shows really poor management. There are other beer bars in the area with a lot more taps and they're never tapped out.
google avatar

Yelp
Fun bar to visit before a game! Delicious food actually - we had the spicy hummus platter and the gyro burger and were really happy with our choices. Nice beer list, great location, good service. They had the patio closed when we visited but would love to come back to check that out!

Yelp
IF YOU'RE A WOMAN, BEWARE. I was a regular but I will not be returning after this happened. The bartender grabbed his phone to take a video of me. This wasn't just any video. He took a video of me because my chest was accidentally exposed due to a dress malfunction . He then proceeded to post it on Snapchat for everyone to see! Mind you this was an video from a distance either, he was right in my face and I was not knowing. I had people from within the bar see it on Snapchat and tell me about it. I immediately when to the bartender and told him to take it down, how could he do that to me? And he said he removed it. This is an employee.... Anyway, I talked to the manager and the manager simply went upstairs and came back down to tell me.. "he removed it in front of my eyes." So... you mean to tell me he kept the video even after I told him to remove it and he pretended as if he did.. no other actions were taken! That's it! The bartender keeps his jobs and I went home and cried my eyes out and now have to live with the trauma of someone who really posted my naked body unknowingly for others to view. AN EMPLOYEE. disgusting !!!!

Yelp
This is the newest pub in LoDo. If you like craft beer and an amazing HH - you will LOVE this plus. HH is 2 for 1 and the beer list is quite impressive! Amanda is our favorite bar tender. She makes this place feel like a neighborhood gem!! They have a tiny patio and an open air feel. The decor is cool! The only thing that would make this place Better is a HH food menu and a no smoking policy on the patio. All the smoke blows into the beer hall. Gross.
google avatar

Chad A.

Yelp
Bartenders are recycled dt bar dumbasses. Seriously a waste of time trying to go. Great location and they did a lot. The staff is simply recycled trash. They all got fired for a reason and then bring the same trash attitude to this bar. Great food and concept. Upstairs is cool and nice little patio!
google avatar

Lauren B.

Yelp
I went here last night to watch the Eagles/Vikings game and I have to say, for as crowded as this place was, the bartenders did a fantastic job at serving everyone. They only had 3 bartenders working but they kicked butt! They have plenty of TVs too so it's a great place to watch games! They have really good food too - I got some mozzarella sticks to eat and they were yummy! Also, the beer was super cheap too (much cheaper than most places in the area). I will for sure come back again/

Emily C.

Yelp
I've been to this place a couple of times and usually have a fine experience. However, they need to hire better security. My friend got jumped and robbed in the middle of the establishment and the bouncers threw HIM out. They didn't even listen to him saying he got his wallet stolen and they wouldn't even check with the people that stole it. This establishment doesn't care about their customers.
google avatar

Yelp
Walked in at 2:54, didnt know they opened at 3. Welcomed in by front. Try to grab a seat and the kitchen bro decides to yell over the service bar were not open. The guy who welcomed us in told us to sit so when the "kitchen" guy decides to go fill his sani bucket he thinks it's a good idea to stop by two guests and say '"hey when I said we aren't open yet it wasnt an invitation to sit down".... had a great bartender, didnt mean to shit on your bar because some guy in the kitchen decides he should start his day with a shitty attitude. Thanks for the beer. Good music. Good beer.

Yelp
Horrible experience. I recently graduated from Penn State and moved to Denver. My first objective once I got here was to find a good bar to watch the football games at. Larimer Beer Hall was the top result for PSU bars so I gave it a shot for the Iowa game. My first pain point is that the bar does not have enough seating. I stood up essentially for the whole game, which isn't that big of a deal for me as I was used to standing up in the student section at Beaver stadium. But if you are an alumni that cannot stand for a whole football game, I'd recommend getting there early. My main issue with Larimer Beer Hall is that some of the staff are quite rude and unreasonable. This was shocking to me because I thought every PSU fan would be nice. Anyway, my friends and I ordered food downstairs. They gave us a pager to notify us when to go downstairs and get it, as we were standing upstairs watching the game. We put the pager down on a table while we were waiting. Some staff must have saw the pager and took it thinking someone forgot about it. When we noticed the food pager was gone we went downstairs to inquiry about the food being ready. The woman behind the counter absolutely lost her mind over us not having the pager. I have never seen anything like it. She blew the whole situation out of proportion and called over a bouncer to kick us out. Yes you heard that right, I was kicked out of the bar in the last 6 minutes of the PSU game because I didn't have a pager to get the food I already paid for. Because we got kicked out, my buddy couldn't close his tab. When we went back the next day to retrieve his card, they said they didn't have it. The kicker is they charged his card after we left the place that night! I understand this is just one instance where I had a terrible experience at this bar and that most people probably wouldn't be treated like this. But I had such high expectations towards this place that I was shocked how they treated us. Anyway, any so called Penn State bar that kicks out fans watching a close game with 6 minutes left because of a lost food pager is no Penn State bar of mine.

Yelp
Saturday 1/12/19 close to closing time I lost my marriage ring and only was able to recover my band, if anyone has seen my ring please have the heart to return it I will offer a reward. Email me @ estradaaalicia@gmail.com thank you

Yelp
When I ask one of your waiter staff a question, don't respond to me saying that my question is a 'dumb' question. Asking if an item off the brunch menu is available at any time of the day is reasonable, esp. when all you're doing is adding a fried egg on top of a burger. Be humble to your own intellectual capacity: you're only serving me food and drinks. 1 star for the ignorance of the staff
google avatar

Adam B.

Yelp
Good $5 burgers with $2 tots. Hard to go wrong with a $5 burger cooked to order! Beef patties were probably 1/3 pound before cooked. Only negative: The hours listed online and on the front door said they open at 11. They opened at noon, so we killed time a few doors down. Once open, most draft beers were $4 until 7pm, including most craft brews. Awesome! We stayed here for 3 hrs killing time before heading to the airport. Bartender was nice. So was cook. Bathroom was clean, bar was made of marble, floor wasn't as sticky as other reviews critiques.
google avatar

Jolene G.

Yelp
Note- this is a review for breakfast. They seem to be better for regular food. This was the most disgusting breakfast I've ever had. A "breakfast sandwich" had a pancake as bread instead of a biscuit or bagel. It's fine to do something unique, but alert your customers. Additionally, there were two bartenders for like 100 plus people. No waiters at the tables. This place was hard to love.

Katie H.

Yelp
If I could give 0 stars I would. This place doesn't give a shit about the safety of their customers whatsoever. It's impossible to get ahold of anyone on the phone either. Do yourself a favor and visit any of the other amazing bars Denver has to offer and stay far far away from this place. You'll get jumped by a group of strangers totally unprompted and the management and bouncers will turn their head the other way. Take your business elsewhere or you may wind up getting hurt. Absolutely unacceptable.

Yelp
I had an issue here and they told me to "take it up on Yelp" so here I am. I went to this bar for an Eagles game with my boyfriend. About 3 minutes after walking into the bar we were offered green Jell-shots from another fan. We each took one and immediately ordered two beers from the bar. During the first half of the game we had a couple of beers and enjoyed our time, not associating ourselves with the people who had the shots. As halftime was starting we were approached by a worker who told us we had to leave because we were on camera taking Jell-O shots. Regardless of the fact that we told him that we were given them from another customer and that we didn't know they were not from the bar, they kicked us out and cursed at my boyfriend. The girl who had the Jell-O shots on her as well as her group of friends were left unbothered. I wish I didn't have to assume that this had something to do with race but we were the only people kicked out and my boyfriend was the only person of a different race. Hopefully that's not the case and it was just an unfair situation on other terms. Our day took a turn for the best as we headed to Asbury Provisions and had a much better time and felt much more welcomed. Thanks Asbury!

Yelp
As the third spot on a night of bar-crawling, I confess that this is where my recollection begins to grow a bit hazy. Allow me to attempt the highlights of a bar that is definitely good enough to be a first stop on a bar crawl. First and foremost, the real rock star of this place is the kitchen. $2 for a basket of fries that come out hot, salty, and wonderful? Maybe it's the beer talking but that's the stuff of legend as midnight goes passing by. Second, another pro is a good beer selection at reasonable prices. Most places without visible costs on the menu typically equate to drinks you didn't want to pay for - not so here. Full pours for $5-6 of a nice selection of craft, local and otherwise, without too much of the wannabe macro-craft nonsense. Third, the only con was that the music downstairs was way, way too loud. There's a dance floor upstairs where I would expect it but it made conversation downstairs rough. Finally, this location has the aforementioned dance floor and also a rooftop patio. The patio would be the perfect spot to start a summer drinking event, and the dance floor would be a great place to catch me doing the exact opposite of tearing it up.

Yelp
Honestly, the only reason we went to this place was because of our favorite bartender. We went in today and they let Hobbs go. She was the best bartender, always personable and remembered who you were even in the busy downtown crowd. I don't think I'll be back any time soon or ever. She was the reason we all went. The crowd there has never been one I wanted to deal with. Nothing but inconsiderate a holes. The other staff is nice but nothing compared to what is once was. Sad day.

Selena P.

Yelp
We were out celebrating our friends birthday, there was a security at the DJ booth, we asked him if we could get a shout out for her, and the security guard agreed to get it arranged. After paying the security guard, giving him our friends name and her birthday wishes, the night came to an end without any shout out. when we came to the DJ booth, he told us to F*** off. the female that was there was very understanding. The guy they had up there was rude and very unprofessional. I was DD therefore had no drinks, would definitely have their security held to a higher standard. Just accepting theifs. Thank you for ruining a night that was meant to remember.

Yelp
The newest beer hall in the hood. Took over the space originally set as a mexican restaurant. The downstairs has nice outdoor seating and a rollup door, it's long and thin, but plenty of space to belly up to the bar and other seating areas. There is also an upstairs, which i hope to enjoy in the soon future. There are some interesting beers on tap and always something for me to enjoy! Bartenders are knowledgeable and friendly! Not a ton of customers on site, which to me is amazing, but for a bar, i hope they do well and attract more people the enjoy the space! To order food you can chat with the bartender or hit up the register toward the back! Tater tots for the win!

Yelp
Great beer place!!!! Tons of awesome beers from local breweries! Mom-Fri 3-7 happy hour, buy one get one draft!!!! Awesome. Cute place. We didn't eat the food but seemed like just burgers. Nice bartenders. We will be coming back for sure :)

Yelp
Stumbled onto this new spot completely on accident. Decided to give it a try, as I always like to support small business. What a neat place! I love when the integrity of the old structures are saved, but with a modern/updated twist. The subway tiles across the bar with the exposed brick and low-hanging lights gives the bar a very unique, comfortable environment. Our bartender was very friendly, she explained that people are sent to the Hall from other bars just to try their burgers! I wasn't feeling in the mood for a burger, to be honest (that's all they serve), but I was starving.... so I split a double stacked cheese with fries with the boyfriend. Holy WOW. Best burger I've had downtown, by a serious longshot. Everything is made in house, even the ranch dressing (which, by the way, will completely knock your socks off). Very highly recommended overall, and I've already been back twice just for drinks. Can't WAIT to eat that ranch dressing again. Mmmmmmmm

Yelp
This is such a great little bar in LoDo. They have really good drink prices and their HH menu is awesome! It's probably our favorite HH spot to start the night off with. We'll always start here and then hop around to the neighboring bars. It has a nice little patio on the roof as well if you want a more quiet surrounding. They have some higher end whiskey choices as well which I absolutely love! I highly recommend checking this place out.

Yelp
This was a really easy option on a stinking hot baseball day ... nice air conditioned bar area with icy wasn't too crowded an hour before the game. Only downside was no table service but bartenders were responsive and food was affordable and delicious!
