Really pretty area. It's nice to walk through it and bounce store to store. The building exterior has a historic look (brick, painted wood) and there are cafe string lights hanging overhead. Great atmosphere and lots of fun and interesting stores. Really nice restaurants as well.

Came here on a weekday daytime so it wasn't as lively as I wish it to be. It's a closed-off/pedestrianized street, not very long but it looks like a decent place to hang out, with cafe, restaurants and some stores. Walking distance from nearby car park, Union Station and University of Colorado. Makes for a good walk around the neighborhood.

Larimer Square is the oldest part of Denver - where Colorado capital was initially founded. It's a historic yet very small area with several bars and restaurants, some quaint shops with Colorado state flags above the entire area

There’s old buildings, built into modern day restaurants and businesses. This was a fun street, dressed in the Colorado flag. It hosted multiple local jewelry makers, clothing brands, someone who was selling vintage maps of the world, a record seller, and it even had its own DJ that encouraged people to buy local. It was a poppin’ evening down Larimer Square.

A historic Denver landmark thats extremely walkable and filled with shops, restaurants and a lively atmosphere. A cute and beautiful square with unique selections. A great spot to enjoy coffee and local stalls during the weekends, definitely recommend!

Always a good time, wish there were more dining choices, but overall I Always have fun..

A must stop and iconic spot in Lower Downtown with the picturesque Colorado State flags. The actual square is a block closed off to vehicular traffic on Larimer Street. Many of the businesses in the square are restaurants and bars with outdoor seating.

Nice area to walk around, eat, shop and chill. The walkway with the flags hanging over is the most well known popular tourist spot of the area. There's a Mexican, a French restaurant, a pub bar, an ice cream store and bunch of specialty goods stores we noticed. But around the area there are many more places to go around. It was an okay experience for me, nothing really appeared massively impressive to me about the location.

Stopped by Larimer Square as a tourist attraction in Denver, but it was a small block with a few restaurants and shops that were half closed for Memorial Day. Some of the buildings had historical landmark plaques, but the buildings didn't look that impressive. We did enjoy happy hour at Tamayo which was good. The entree menus at all the restaurants definitely seemed pricey and not sure if the quality would substantiate that price, so I'll agree with another reviewer that it's a bit of a tourist trap. Only go if you have time and money to burn, but otherwise no loss if you skip it!

Denver got its start on Larimer Street between 14th and 15th in the late 1800s. The lively and busy city block of today is named Larimer Square for the pioneering General William Larimer, it was the city's first block, its first commercial district, home to its first residence and first city hall, and was the city's first designated historic district. Today, we can find nice restaurants, shops, a small shopping mall and many other attractions that make it a magnet for tourists and locals alike.

Beautiful area of Denver. Many trendy shops and restaurants and there is often live music. Highly recommend!

This was one of those Instagram versus Reality kinda spots. In pictures, I've seen this place look so cute with all of the Colorado flags across the market lights and I loved all the Pride flags but I was a little confused by what this place is. It's an area that's blocked off from traffic and has restaurants and shops. A lot of the places looked closed or under construction though. They had an outside bar so people could order drinks and carry them around. I'm not sure how far outside of the area that's allowed. We enjoyed dinner at Osteria Marco. I'm not sure this is quite the "tourist attraction" I had expected but it was a cute tiny area.

Love love loved it!!! The atmosphere was so great. Just sitting outside enjoying the weather and having a drink. I can't wait to go back to Denver!!!

Larimer Square is a one block section of Larimer St that is closed to vehicular traffic. There are some shops and restaurants on this block, though I didn't see anything particularly interesting.

This is a non existent attraction. Aside from one big pumpkin to pose with and about 2 restaurants, there is literally NOTHING here. A big waste of time.

This is a neat little area that is blocked off. It is not very big, but fits 10 pounds in a 5 pound bag. the heart of the Square runs between between 14th Street and 15th Streets. They have shops and restaurants with the restaurants have seating right on the blocked off street. There is also a stage on the street that is used for live music. The area is decorated with string lights weaving across the street along with a bunch of Colorado flags. The buildings are historic Victorian style and the place has an upscal/vintage vibe. There is metered street parking and commercial parking garages/lots with in a reasonable walking distance. This place has the distinction of being the oldest commercial block in the city. Some of the eateries in the Square include: Băo Brewhouse, Ted's Montana Grill, Ocean Prime, The Capital Grille, and Van Leeuwen Ice Cream. And for you shopping pleasure you will find Milly Rose Designs, Dog Savvy, Garage Sale Vintage, Moda Man, and B-Fresh Gear. The area is also home to the Comedy Works. It is a neat and quaint little area. It was very clean while I was there, but I will admit that most everything was closed or exclusivly indoors each of the times I have been there. It was winter though. I would say that this is a neat spot, but not one that I personally would make a special trip for.

I feel like Larimer Square could be so much more. So what is it exactly? Here's what it is: a restaurant and some shopping district/area. It's tiny, only about a block. Is a restaurant/shopping area unique? No. Are there other areas that have outdoor/streetside seating? Yes. So, what makes Larimer Square different? The only thing I could say is they decorate it in the air. There are banners with flags and lights strewn across the tops. Is that neat? Sure. But, that's about it! If you're passing through Denver and already find yourself downtown and have some time to kill, sure walk on over. Definitely recommend you find out the happy hours at the restaurants on that block and pick where to stop for drinks and/or eats after discovering that. It's not a big destination spot to check out if it's out of your way, IMO. I'd actually recommend McGregor Square a bit more. I think it's a cooler space, personally and it's also outside a bunch of restaurants and a big food hall which sometimes gives better food options. Maybe fewer happy hour deals, though. The only edge in this sense that I'd give to Larimer is that it's more quaint, which I like better versus big and commercial like McGregor. Idk, I guess it's a toss-up. Maybe it's that I like the access to/from McGregor better. There's so much more around and the ballpark, Coors Field, is a quick walk across the street.

I saw this on YouTube but unfortunately there is not much to see here. It's mostly under construction. A few restaurants and an ice cream place. This is one "tourist attraction" that can be skipped but it is worth going to Van Leeuwen for ice cream.

Denver is a gem: There are so many cool places like Larimer Square. When the weather is great all of the restaurants and bars are chocked full of folks hanging out. It is a truly magical place.

What a cute little area in downtown Denver! It spans one block but is full of cute shops, bars and restaurants. It's really eye catching when you pull up and see all of the string lights spanning the block. We ate at one of the restaurants and walked the block two nights in a row. I hate that I didn't make it here before Drunken Bakery closed since it looked super cute and unique. There is plenty of street parking nearby and lots of outdoor seating. If you're in the area you have to stop by at least once. And I think the square is open until 11:00 most nights.

Sort of disappointed in this area. We had ice cream but didn't get much else. Could use something other than just restaurants and drinking.

Head to elegant Larimer Square for shops, people-watching, and dinner. Larimer Square is the city's oldest and most historic part of town where the first gold prospectors from the Old West era staked their claim. There's a relaxed vibe and it's the perfect part of town to chill into your weekend in Denver. You'll find hip coffee bars, urban boutiques and exclusive stores, and maybe some street performers. For dinner, take your pick from a great range of chef-led restaurants or one of the many different cuisines available.

Larimer Square has that cool Denver vibe. In the square you have corn hole with at least six restaurants. Festive lights adorn the block and you can feel the energy. This is only a short walk from Denver's Union Station. A must visit for Downtown Denver.

A nice block of shops and eateries. There isn't much more to this area then that, but the eatery options are nice. This would be very convenient once the construction wraps up on 16th street, and this place is within walking distance. Street parking was a bit hard to find, even on a weekday after the lunch rush. The twinkle lights and pedestrian only area make it a nice option for an evening out too, I would imagine.

Really cute area with plenty of cute shops, great food options and a bunch of history. We ended up walking around here on two separate days, both day and night because we thought it was so cute. Even with the construction that seems to be happening both on the street and on a few of the buildings, we were taken in by the sheer cuteness of this place. While we were eating dinner here, we would listen to the walking tours and all the people enjoying the nice weather. I'd highly recommend taking a stroll and having a bite or a libation.

Larimer Square has changed so much for me, throughout the years. Definitely for the best! Best in the spring and summer with ritzy, glitzy markets selling one of a kind clothing pieces, art, food and fun. It is my favorite historical marker, in all of Denver. It is described as "An iconic, lively, and pedestrian-friendly gathering place, Larimer Square is the beating heart and creative soul of downtown Denver." Some of my favorite restaurant hubs are located here: Rioja, Hapa Sushi, Tamayo and Osteria Marco! It is super high end with lots of street parking, but lots of walking to do. There is lots of shopping and entertainment to be done; I really enjoyed the street art. There was this guy who typed a romantic poem for Nick and I and we donated to the small company that he represented. In 2020, Larimer Square completely transformed itself into a new find with 6 new restaurants! So you can say that it's always growing.

English - Absolutely beautiful spot in Denver with lots of restaurant options. Currently they are doing outdoor patio seating which adds to the vibrancy of the lively area. They had live music, to go cocktails (that you have to drink within the square). At night they turn on the string lights so it makes for a great photo op. Español - Sitio muy bonito en la ciudad de Denver. Ahorita están ofreciendo servicio afuera de los restaurantes. Tienen música en vivo, y hasta bebidas alcoholicas que se pueden tomar con que uno esté dentro de la área de Larimer Square. En la noche prenden las luces que están sobre la calle, buen lugar para tomar fotos.

This place was not as expected. It was a Wednesday night- we were looking for food on vacation. We were not dressed fancy and most places were fancy! One pretty cool vintage store with a bar inside! Yeah, you heard that correctly- BAR INSIDE! But over priced because of it's location. We ended up eating at BAO Brewhouse- amazing! While parked in this area, our rental car was spraypainted! Overall, it's a tourist trap that did us wrong.

Beautiful now it's Christmas time. The little boots and vendors and Christmas lights make this place kind of magical and I recommend you visit it! It's a fun holiday market to hang out

Nice place and recommendation from you tubers when visiting Denver. Visited on a Sunday afternoon, so it was not busy. Side street parking is free on Sunday.

For those who are liberal, I'm sure you appreciate this Very well nicely decorated for pride month, there is music and many eateries, and everyone wearing pride hats. Very awesome atmosphere. Also it is walking distance from the outdoor mall location. Even thought there is some homeless, not as many as LA, you will feel safer and much cleaner here than sorry to say my own town LA., thanks to Newsom, Gascon, & Garcetti, who have ruined CA/LA

Bottom Line: A neat area if you have a dinner reservation but otherwise I wouldn't go out of your way to visit. Larimer Square is another tourist trap that my husband thought we should visit while staying in Denver. It was fairly close to our hotel so we went over to check it out and maybe find a dinner spot. The flags and lights that hang overhead the pedestrian-only street were super charming and it looks like there were some nice restaurants and boutiques in the area but we basically just looked around, did a little people watching and were on our way. I can see where it would be nice to have a business lunch or nice dinner in this area but otherwise there wasn't much that interested me perhaps other than the Pendleton store or Cotopaxi.

Larimer Square is a historic block located in Denver. Once you arrive you have your pick from delicious restaurants, bars shopping , beauty services and more. It's a fun place to be. On both of my visits I had dinner at Bistro Vendome and enjoyed shopping at Pendleton, Mountain Khakis, Victorian Antique & Fine Jewelry and more. The road is closed to vehicles and they strung up lots of twinkle lights adding to the fun and charm.

Love the vibe of this section of Denver, shops and restaurants all around. This is right next to Union Station and 16th street mall which everything's connects together which is great! Awesome place to walk around and takes lots of pictures too.

I was expecting unique and small businesses on this historic block, and perhaps to learn more about the history with the plaques and such. But honestly, I was not impressed with Larimer Square. Depending on why you visit Larimer Square, it may not live up to expectations. If you want history then walk down the block and see the architecture. But that's really it. The block is mostly filled with chain restaurants and stores. It's definitely on the trendy side versus historic. The lights are nice outside, which make the scene pretty at night. And the stone road adds to its charm. But I don't understand why it's recommended for tourists to check out. I would advise going on an actual city tour to learn more about this block or researching beforehand. All you'll find here on your own are steakhouses and restaurants that are found in other cities.

Cool walking area in downtown Denver. If you want to get here, consider Uber; there is no free parking anywhere. We came at night to walk around and get some pictures. Lots of restaurants nearby and fun to walk around and see the hipster friendly shops that Denver is known for.

This is located on the historical Larimer square block in Denver. There are many shops and restaurants on this block to choose from. During the winter holidays, they give it extra Christmas decorations to beautify the area even further. During this time, they were a lot of vendor booths ready to except vendors during certain days when they have markets. It was nice walking through here and visit at least one restaurant at this block on our visit to this city. It's worth the visit and learning about its history. They have very strict CDC regulations here so practice safety. Cute place. Bon appétit and cheers!

Larimer Square is one of my favorite places to visit in Denver. Whenever I have friends or family in town, I always recommend coming here because it's so pretty. There's so many cute little businesses and restaurants located here, and that's what makes it extra magical. Currently right now with COVID going on, each restaurant has tents or igloos setup for folks to enjoy outdoor dining. This is a really nice touch! One of my favorite parts of Larimer Square is the beautiful string lights they have setup above the street that light this place up - it looks so pretty at night! Come down to Larimer Square and enjoy yourself.

OUTSIDE lights are definitely a must see at night after the sun goes down. Daytime is still cool but nighttime is magical. Romantic for a date night. VENUES nice more upscale restaurants. We opted for a wine tasting restaurant that had good appetizers and pizza. There are outside seating for when the weather is nice and a corner restaurant with second level seating. CARS not sure about the parking situation because we walked here from 16th street mall area. Not a good few to several block ride if you're in heels. TAKE THE SHUTTLE...BUT there is a free shuttle that goes up and down 16th street both ways that helps you out. You can grab a map at one I'd the kiosks. Bus stops at each corner basically. Runs pretty late because we were heading back at around 9:30pm on a Saturday night. OVERALL I recommend checking this area out. I was visiting from California with a couple female friends and we enjoyed ourselves for sure.

Omg wow is all I can say about this little slice of heaven in this part of town... first and foremost this is where you want to be in Denver! They have beautiful sting lights hung all over the buildings and closed off the streets so the restaurants can serve us the public outside of their normal customary ways due to COVID and the way they did it was just beautiful and so inviting ! All the high end restaurants are located there from oceans prime to capital grill you will feel right at home as soon as you step foot on the beautiful part of town. This is A MUST SEE for sure! They even have a champagne bar!! Can't get better then this

Where Denver Started: Larimer Square has the distinction of being the first designated local historic district in addition to the oldest commercial block in the City of Denver. Although it is poor in size, only one city block between 14th and 15th Street; Larimer Square is rich in history. The history of Larimer Square goes as far back as 1858. That is around the time that a man by the name of General William Larimer laid out a city by the confluence of Cherry Creek and the South Platte River. The original business district was this very area known as Larimer Square. From the time of General William Larimer to today, the square named after him has been a historical point of interest. In the 2010s, Larimer Square offers much more than history. It truly is a cultural district that includes restaurants, shops, services, a Starbuck's, and nightlife in historically preserved buildings. From my observation in spite of the fact that Larimer Square is the historic and entertainment district where Denver started it also serves as a panhandle to the 16th Street Mall. If you are unfamiliar with downtown Denver, the 16th Street Mall is the north to south pedestrian mall. It is a tourist, entertainment, shopping, cultural, and restaurant destination in downtown Denver. Near the northern end of the 16th Street Mall is the crossroads of Larimer Street. If you go a block west you end up at Larimer Street. It was the 16th Street Mall and to a lesser extent the Denver tourist videos that led me to Larimer Square. We stayed in Denver for a whole week. During that time we walked the 16th Street Mall many times. When we walked it at night, I'd peak west on Larimer Street. Catching my gaze were rows and rows of overhead lights. I knew that this had to be a nighttime spot. In my case it would be a daytime spot on the first of two visits. The second time when we ate in Capital Grille, I saw the magic of the canopy of lights at night. In daylight and up close, I saw a city block of strings across Larimer Street displaying light bulbs and butterfly art. The strings of bulbs and butterflies defined the district. On the relatively short walk by the first two dozen buildings constructed in Denver, I'd pass quaint shops, restaurants, and establishments of culture. The lion's share of shops are mom & pop owned. It was by the oldest shop in Larimer Square that I spent some quaint moments. It is Gusterman Silversmith's established in 1966. At the time I was impervious to Gusterman Silversmith's historical significance. What I was aware of was its surroundings. Tucked in back of the historical streetscape is the Kettle Arcade. This is a quaint courtyard situated between restaurants and shops. When I walked off the sidewalk and into the arcade I laid eyes on a human statue with a plaque saying "Welcome to Denver." The plaque might as well said "Welcome to Historic Denver." Relaxing to the sights of birds chirping above on the mature tree branches, I was enveloped in history. The Kettle Arcade was built in 1873. If it wasn't for the Yelp character limit I could go on and on about the history. I will go on and on about Larimer Square. Oddly enough one of the prime ways to catch the street activity is from a sidewalk table at the Starbuck's. The tables were near Larimer Street's pictorial gas-lit lamps and flower baskets. Owing to the fact that it is by the west gateway to the district sitting here gave me the vantage point of taking in the energy of Larimer Square. It is at night where the energy of Larimer Square takes place. It is an energy that radiates through the strings of overhead bulbs. It is a mellow energy that radiates through me. At nighttime, I enjoyed taking in the lit up historic buildings that captured the arcades, art galleries, and windows. It is an energy captured in the pictures below. Most of all I enjoyed taking in dinner in the Capital Grille. I respect the historical significance that Larimer Square had in the story of Denver. This creates a city block that is unique and cannot be duplicated. In conclusion, I recommend visiting Larimer Square if you are in the area of the 16th Street Mall.

This is an absolutely enchanting area of Denver during the day, so I can't even imagine how amazing it looks at night. It is filled with great shops and restaurants. The square's alley also has cats, that add lots of charm to the area and plays on the pun of alley cats. The spot is about a block up from the 16th Street Mall.

Very expensive block for the average person. If you have money it's a great place to get food and shop. If you are traveling to Denver on the cheaper side don't waste your time. Skip this one. But if you do go I'd recommend going at night when the lights are on.

Cute little historic spot to walk around in Denver. Lots of different shops and restaurants to choose from. Love the vibe with the string lights and would have loved to see it at night but just as pretty during the day.

Fun block of businesses and shops. Closed to auto traffic to support foot traffic. Restaurants and wine bars and unique shops plus a Starbucks to round it out. The surrounding area has more shops to visit. I understood this was the area that was the start of Denver and I wish there were more historical markers or information. But worth a visit as part of getting to know Denver.

Had high hopes for this place but was a bit disappointed. Maybe it was because I went on a weekday evening? The streets were somewhat dead and the actual Larimer Sq was incredibly short, it was like one street, one block - ok... that's what square means...but all the downtown squares I've been to are a few more blocks than just one. Later at night the lights came on and it was pretty... there were many good restaurants around but I dont really see myself coming back here just to go to a fancy restaurant...maybe to look at the lights though. .

This is an awesome street. This is the most historic street in Denver. You can just walk around and have a good time. A lot of the times there's music playing and there's endless shops and food places to try. This will not disappoint you, it's a must if your new or visiting Denver!

I love larmier square. Some of the best restaurants and boutiques are here on the square. Although street parking can be a hassle there are many garages all around... at throw away prices on weekends. Al fresco dining on the streets on Saturdays only I think I'm not sure coz when we returned on Sunday the streets were back to normal... but on weekends the streets are blocked off and tables outside each restaurant...so you could sit anywhere....very kool!!

Larimer Square is the cutest little area ever. Full of fancy restaurants and shops. I highly recommend stopping here for dinner and sitting outside or just walking around. The lights they have on the streets are beautiful and the atmosphere is relaxing, my husband and I loved it! I give it 4 stars because I wish it was longer on the street.

Larimer Square is located in downtown, right next to 16th street. You can ride the free 16 street bus in case you do not want to walk. When I was planning my trip to Denver, I read about Larimer Square in one of the tour guide books and so I figured my husband and I would make sure to add a visit here during our week long vacation. Unfortunately I was a bit disappointed, as it is pretty small. I would say probably about 1 block long. There are a good amount of restaurants and bars on this little block and some stores (stand alone/ mom- pop stores) to browse through though. My husband and I visited Larimer Square twice, once during the day and once at night. This place is pretty quiet and different from night. But at night, I feel like Larimer Square comes alive and it does look nicer with the twinkling lights on. Anyways, if you are in the area, stop by. But I wouldn't say that it is worth a special visit.

Larimer Square is beautiful, the lights are absolutely amazing! I do recommend eating at Tomayos a Mexican grill around the corner. Also be sure to come around 5pm just in time to see all the shops around and then see the pretty lights in the nighttime. Parking is around $10-$15 dollars.

I stumbled upon Larimer Square as I walked all over Denver, starting from the LoDo area. I visited in November and was in love with the string lights strung across the street. I took a bunch of photos and walked in and out of the boutiques. No eating happened, though I went inside a few boutiques and let The Market tempt me. The storefront was quaint and seeing patrons eating and drinking on the patio lured me in. I wandered around and didn't hear anything within call my name so I ended up back on the street. Maybe next time! I'd also like to try a restaurant in this neighborhood if I end up back in Denver. If you're exploring the city, make sure to stop by Larimer Square. [#Yelp365: 97/365]

I just love Larimer. I think it is the quaint small town main street feel it gives off, but with hipper shops and plenty of gastro delights! It is perfection. Cry Baby Ranch - classic - I don't even like cowboy stuff, but I can wander this place for an hour! Rioja - new classic - 5 star cuisine. The Market - the single best place to get a cup of coffee in Denver. Ben & Jerry's - um need I say more? I love the lights they string at Christmas and or just sitting on a bench in the summer waiting for a show to start down the way at Comedy Works. It is just a happy place!

Really cute area of downtown Denver. Little on the higher end (dare I say bougie?) but cute nontheless....and historic! It's really just a main street that is dressed up with historic buildings, but you can dive into the actual "square" by walking down a little shop alley way. Since I only came here one time and as a first time tourist to boot, here's my quick and skinny: Pros: -Historic block, with lots of lots of old time charm and feel. But mondernized to fit all the hipster and foodie restaurants and shops there. -loved the stringed lights all above the street area! This must be just lovely at night when lit up, but I thought it was great in the day, too! -unique and boutique shops abound here. Food type restaurants as well. This is a place to burn a quality dollar. -The free downtown bus runs past here so you can easily hop on one and go down 16th street mall (the main tourist/shopping thouroghfare downtown). Cons: -This really isn't a con but just letting people know that there isn't a whole lot of shops offered here. There are, but again they are very boutique and specialized so if you're not looking to buy a $200 fedora or organic dog food, it'll be just a fab window shopping experience.
