Prior to my visit/purchase of a burger and fries at 6:38pm on Saturday, 6/22/24, I had pretty good reviews and would have given this food stand 4/5 stars. I was excited after my first visit on a week night when I had the smash burger which was really great. This was my 3rd visit in less than 3 weeks.
The second visit, the food was okay, not as good as the first time, but nothing major. Today, on my 3rd visit, the food was horrendous. I noticed the cook sitting with his leg up in the kitchen area, but it was a hot day and even though it did not seem appropriate to be sitting how and where he was sitting, it was not my direct business (but just something I took note of). I order a smash burger with fries. I ask for no cheese and for the burger to be well done - because I like my smash burger super caramelized. When the cashier tells the cook that I want the burger well done, the cook makes a comment and says “it should just go in the microwave.” The guys laugh and I laugh a little bit too, despite thinking the comment was, again, a little inappropriate and unprofessional to verbalize aloud. But again I ignore it, because despite the unprofessional behavior, I’m just getting a burger.
When my order is ready, I get my burger and fries. I notice that the paper bag that my food is in is dripping in grease, and the fries are all out of the box. Basically the fries were not drained after coming out of the fryer and it was visible; it also looked a bit unappetizing, but again, it’s fast food, and I’m not willing to stress out about it.
However, when I get home, I open the burger and it is the most disrespectful, disgusting looking burger ever. There is cheese on it, despite my asking to 86 the cheese, and to make matters worse it didn’t even come with the standard toppings:pickles, onions, tomato chutney. A McDonalds burger would’ve looked better.
All in all, the first visit was great, and now I’m over it. I hope the managers can find cooks who are able to produce quality food consistently.
