The 2022 Eater Boston Holiday Gift Guide | Eater Boston

"A producer of elegant host gifts, their Premier Savory Biscuit Sampler arrives seasonally in a festive box and pairs wee jams with shortbread-like biscuits; inventive flavors like the pizza-inspired Tuscan Pizzetta (Mediterranean herbs and spices with a surprising touch of sweetness) make the set versatile for starting or ending a meal." - Stasia Brewczynski

Yelp
I love Lark cookies. I first bought them at a specialty store in my state and decided to place an order directly from the company. I've ordered from Lark Fine Foods twice and both times everything was delivered timely and well packaged. These cookies are some of the best I've had. They are great for house guests and as gifts. My favorites are the salted rosemary shortbread cookies and the coconut butter cookies.

Yelp
I bought these at the Getty museum and fell in love. WE got the St. Nicholas cookies- and they are some of the best ginger/spice cookies I've ever eaten. Everyone in the family loves them. We have a food allergy (corn- so we can't have corn starch or modified food starch) and it's hard to find cookies we can eat- unless we make them ourselves. What a treat to find these! They're expensive but totally worth it. I ordered 6 boxes as soon as I got home. They were shipped with care and arrived here in good condition. I love that it's a woman owned business- but the really important thing is the the cookies are delicious.

Yelp
I really wanted to enjoy these products! My husband received their products as a gift from work. It's a 100% woman owned company. It says it's for sophisticated taste... Umm maybe my taste buds couldn't taste what they're talking about. I didn't like the cookies or chocolate balls at all. Sorry!

Yelp
For the second time this year I received a surprise gift basket ordered and delivered from a local speciality shop which included a box of Lark Pistachio Cherry Sable. The flavor and texture of the cookies are delightful; however, in the first basket one sleeve of cookies was cracked and in the second basket, the cookies were mostly crumbs in both sleeves. I didn't want to upset the persons who gifted the basket and the store was unconcerned. I took photos of the cookies and UPC code from the latter basket to share with the company. There is no way to do so on their website, so I'm posting my review here. Initially, I thought that Lark products would make fine gifts for family and friends, but it's apparent that their packaging leaves a great deal to be desired. I would be embarrassed to gift someone a product as damaged as mine. Lark is not for me!

Yelp
I wanted to update my review from years ago since I placed a couple of orders this year (still 5 stars!), both were kind of last-minute and Lark shipped them out right away (I even forgot a gift note with one of them and Bob - I think that was his name - responded to my email right away). Great cookies, always enjoyed by the person(s) who receive them!

Yelp
Man oh man, or should I say woman oh woman ( you know it's an all female run company) where do I start? I saw this place oh Channel 5 after they did their segment called made in Massachusetts. I do love local shopping and the supporting small businesses that this country was founded on. In a day and age where everything is bought from a giant box store or a retailer like Walmart that just destroys cities and everything in their path, places like lark fine foods make me very happy. I ran out to the local wine store in Melrose, Beacon Hill wine shop after finding on Lark's website where the products could be bought. I purchased the 3 different flavors that they had available. Cha Cha's - which were just sweet enough, but didn't make me worry about diabetes down the road, which I really do think about because of my family history. Spicy Chocolate need I say more? I would imagine these would go good with wine, but I'm trying to do the right thing and not drink Sunday to Thursday and well, it was a Monday. Salted Caramel Almond - were well... everything I want in life, what is that you ask? I love sweet and I love salt and when those two come together, it's like the first time I heard the Beatles. Yeah and this isn't like a take5 bar, which are the best candy bars ever made by the way, this was just the right balance and my only complaint is that the bag didn't have 100 cookies in it. Shortbread - which for me is like the most boring cookie ever made USUALLY. This however; is where Lark get's it perfect. Rosemary and just a tad touch of salt, this coupled with an actual good tasting shortbread, well I take back everything I ever said about there never being anything called a tasty shortbread cookie. I'm looking at you girl scouts of America, shame on you for putting out such sub par products nowadays. Oh back to what I was saying, um yeah, just delicious. Sorry for my shortbread discrimination. In closing, maybe it comes down to exactly what these things say on the packages. Cookies for adults, I act like one once in awhile and again, I have to watch that waist line of mine. In all honesty, maybe people should buy these for their kids, instead of the sleeves of oreos that kids crush today, maybe an all natural product with no dye instead of 17,000 times the recommended amount of sugar would be better for your child. Maybe just maybe if we all paid attention the way Lark has, we wouldn't have this obese America that we all seem to have accepted? I don't know whatever it is, I just really love these cookies and I am definitely looking for the ones with olives in them. I feel like they would go good with a dirty martini.... On a Friday or Saturday of course... Enjoy... I did

Yelp
Cookies for grown-ups? What could be better than that!? I received a package of cookies as a random gift from a co-worker last Christmas, and after one bite I was completely hooked. So, you can imagine how sad I was when I found out that there wasn't one particular store I could go to buy these delectable little cookies. This company is a mother-daughter team out in Gloucester, MA that sell there cookies to different stores across the U.S. The good thing is that they also have a nice website where you can purchase cookies, so if there isn't a store easily accessible to you, as in my case, you can just order online! My favorite cookies are the cha-chas, which are chocolate and spicy and make my taste buds dance. I also really like the coco-locos, which have real toasted coconut and a hint of rum! The mighty gingers are certainly appropriately named, and if you like ginger, you'll definitely like these cookies. I was expecting something more like a ginger bread cookie, but it tasted much more like actual ginger root. I can't wait to try the salted rosemary shortbread, because the combination of sweet and savory has really got my appetite peaked. The cookies are a little more on the pricey side, but completely worth it.

Yelp
I just tried the Scourtins and the Shortbread cookies. They were both amazing. The Scourtins savory olive taste and the lemon and rosemary flavors in the Shortbread were unbelievable. I can't wait to try the others. Delicious!!!!

Yelp
I picked up packages of Lark Burnt Sugar and Fennel Shortbread and Salted Rosemary Shortbread recently on a well, lark, quite frankly, when shopping at a TJ Maxx store. I took them home and tried them, rather cautiously, with my afternoon tea. What a cookie epiphany! They are absolutely FANTASTIC. The flavors are subtly savory and sweet and altogether fabulous! These are, truly, cookies for grown up taste buds. I highly encourage everyone that likes sweets that are not overly sweet to try them! You are sure to love these lovely cookies from Lark!

Yelp
i purchased these cookies, labeled "espresso chip" , "salted rosemary" and "burnt sugar". the espresso chip was very sickeningly sweet and did not have a strong espresso flavor, i did not think that they were particularly good. the burnt sugar were abolutely horrendous with a very hot spice in them that actually burns your mouth. they also had fennel seeds which made them taste like licorice. nothing i have ever had labeled "burnt sugar" has been burning hot and tasted like licorice (there was no fennel listed on the label). they were awful and went in the trash. i very nicely called the company and let them know that these were literally inedible and they refused to replace them. products such as these should be labeled accordingly when they have flavors that a lot of people do not like. the company was not very consumer oriented or nice. it is too bad, they could make a good product and treat their customers with respect but they chose to alienate customers to save a couple dollars. too bad.....hopefully not to many more customers will get fooled with this high price item that is poor quality!
