"L’Armoire à Glaces serves up some spectacular artisanal gelato, sorbet, and soft serve on Plaza St-Hubert, with rotating fresh flavour combinations like raspberry rose water, Medjool date and hazelnut butter, and a vegan dark chocolate and mint tea twist." - Valerie Silva, Ashley Joseph

Great textures, nice and subtle flavors. I only tried the butter pistachio and chocolate, but both were good, the pistachio won for texture while the Choco for flavor. Big big portions (even too big, would love a smaller size with two scoops). Owner (I think) was nice and talked to customers, asking for feedback. Always a good sign

Super professional serving lady; she was kind enough to give me a cup of ice water as I was overheating. My son and I each had chocolate milkshakes. The shop was clean; covid19 precautions were obeyed; and, displays of various flavours of ice creams were appealing.

Dropped into L'Armoire à Glaces while shopping in the area. 15 flavours of gelato and sorbet (four being vegan). Scoops are $4.50 (single), $6.50 (double) and $7.50 (triple). Pints are $11.00. - Twist maison végane glace molle ($6.50 regular) - pear and black chocolate twist combination. Pear was refreshing and the better of the two flavours. Found the chocolate rich and overpowering. Maybe the go to move is to stick with their gelato and sorbet. 3.5 stars.

The owner was sooooo nice! I wasn’t in town for summer but missed the carrot and pink peppercorns from last summer so we checked out this little gem last week in a rainy day, the shop was already closed for the rain but she let us in and we bought three containers (two pistachio butter and one passion fruit which were both amazing!) I went back two days later with another friend for three cartons more (the hazelnut butter one was so good as well), the owner recognised me and even gave us one brownie for free! She was so sweet ;) I wish there are more people who crave for gelato in snowy weather (like myself) so the shop won’t be closed in winter :(

Super friendly staff, great tea and very yummy homemade ice cream. As I was sitting there, chatting, the barista brought me a sample of their latest batch of peanut butter ice cream that just finished. The location itself is rather small but cozy.

Wow, so yum. The dark chocolate is my favourite

Really great ice cream, very creamy, try the mango and vanilla bean, so so good and they have tubs you can buy and bring home, so many flavours to choose from. The place itself is open, light and airy. They also had these huge cookies and brownies, gonna go back for those! We also had the coffee, it was nice and strong. It's located on Plaza St-Hubert, near Bellechase, they have a nice little terrace to sit and people watch.

Pretty damn good after a big meal! Took a strawberry vanilla milkshake. Note: it's not on the menu but they kindly mixed it for me with the ice cream and sorbet they had so feel free to ask! Great flavour, great staff!

Yelp
We decided to drop into L'Armoire à Glaces while shopping around in the area. They're next door to Montreal Plaza. We came on a Friday (around 6:30pm). It wasn't too busy but there was a steady stream of customers. They had 15 flavours of gelato and sorbet (four being vegan). There was some fun flavours; apple sorbet, vegan coconut matcha and chai. Scoops are $4.50 (single), $6.50 (double) and $7.50 (triple). Pints are $11.00 each. - Twist maison végane glace molle ($6.50 regular) - pear and black chocolate twist combination. Pear was refreshing and the better of the two flavours. Found the chocolate rich and overpowering. Would be good on its own but didn't balance with the pear. Texture was okay. Maybe the go to move is to stick with their gelato and sorbet. Saw some large double scoops that came out of LaG. 3.5 stars.

Yelp
Found this place totally by accident, and now I'm telling everyone I know about it. Never had chocolate (cardamom) ice cream taste more like chocolate, chai ice cream taste more like chai... There's a small plaza across from the store, and the sun sets almost directly onto St-Hubert, giving the area that really perfect post-golden hour glow while you eat (lick?).

Yelp
En mode #itssummer pistachio and apple-blueberry sorbets taking risks that pay off on st-hubert plaza. Selection is interesting and staff is very friendly

Yelp
As someone who loves desserts summertime means one thing: ice cream. I had heard many good things about L'Armoire a Glaces so I was eager to try it out. Lo and behold the opportunity to come here presented itself twice within the span of the week. Of course the sweet tooth in me couldn't resist. It's a fairly small shop yet despite its size they manage to get quite a bit of indoor seating in. They also have some cute benches outside should you desire to sit there. The shop itself is quite cute and despite being primarily an ice cream shop they also have other things like pastries and sandwiches. On both visits I only tried their ice cream which they make themselves. They have one flavour of soft serve which changes daily and a good selection of gelatos. On the day I was there the soft serve flavour was strawberry and it was made with Quebec strawberries. This definitely turned out to be a good choice because you could really taste the sweetness of the strawberries. On my next visit I decided to give the gelato a go and tried triple caramel and dark chocolate. Both were delicious and rich in flavour. The other thing I like about them is that the prices are incredibly reasonable. Ice cream can get expensive in this city since it is a seasonal business but at L'Armoire a Glaces the prices are fair. A small cone which gets you two scoops only costs $4.20 and it was more than enough for me. L'Armoire a Glaces was a sweet find (no pun intended). The prices are reasonable and the ice cream is delicious. I'll definitely be back in the future to try other flavours and their non-ice cream menu items.

Yelp
I really enjoyed visiting L'Armoire (formerly L'Armoire a glaces, it seems they have changed their name to be more inclusive?). From the outside, it just looked like an ice cream shop (actually a gelato shop, but seriously, they look the same), but they also offer a few interesting meal options at a reasonable price. I went with the Grilled Cheese Sandwich trio, that came with a soup or salad (I had soup), a grilled cheese (I took the veggie option), and a bambino cone or cup of gelato. All told, this came out to $11.50 with the tax included. Not bad for an appetizer, main course, and dessert! The soup of the day (yellow beets, butternut squash, and carrots) was very tasty, and held the heat for a long time; I had to let it cool down. Luckily the veggie grilled cheese sandwich (sun-dried tomatoes, nut-free pesto, and aged white cheddar) was also made well, and retained it's heat while I juggled between the two. I went with the Banana Ganache gelato in a cone (no extra cone charge :) ) which was a delicious end to my meal. The server also kindly gave me a sample of the homebrewed Chai tea, which was different from any I've tasted before - it was creamy and frothy, and tasted a lot of milk, with nice notes of cinnamon and spices. I generally don't like teas since I find them watery and bitter, but this was the total opposite, and I'm really excited to try it again! There were a lot of very appetizing gelato flavours to choose from, I definitely need to return to try a few more. I was also told that they make milkshakes, so I instantly perked up at that. I'm also quite looking forward to trying the burrito, mmmm! I was told that they're extending the hours for the summer, some nights they may even be open until 11 PM or midnight, so night people are welcome :). I'll be back soon!

Yelp
This is by far one of the best ice cream places/cafes I've been to! It's fairly cheap, and really good! The potion sizes are pretty much perfect (I was left with maybe a teensy bit too much food, but I also tend to not eat that much, so..) the gelato (I had lemon tart) was absolutely amazing! I had the veggie burrito trio (with gazpacho), and it was really good (my friend commented that the burrito tasted a bit bland, but I liked it). All in all, absolutely amazing! 5/5 would definitely visit again!

Yelp
I went back for some ice cream and a homemade lemonade to go and everything was amazing!!! I was really impressed by the lemonade. Usually, it's just sweetened thick tart water. But theirs is, well homemade. It was light, crisp, refreshing it's like the rain of a lemon cloud. It had an other vegetal/herb undertone that I could not identify. The only drawback is this one: It's jam packed when it's sunny. Plus because they also serve meal people are going to stay way longer. We took our stuff to go because there was nowhere to sit inside or outside. On the bright side, can window shopping be any more fun on a bright sunny day? Yes with some ice cream!

Yelp
Located on St-Hubert street, a unique commercial street in Rosemont, l'Armoire à Glaces is absolutely adorable and full of handpicked cute decor that rejoice the hearts of the whole family, from kids to grandparents. The ice cream is very delicate and tasty, and there are several options that are vegan and gluten free, which can allow everyone to treat himself or herself with this best summer dessert. The flavours change depending on the seasonal ingredients, so each visit is a new surprise. The day that I went I wanted to get an adffogato, but the espresso machine failed to work, so I only tried their dark chocolate and lime & espresso ice cream, but not their coffee, what a pity! Yet I like the ice cream a lot, but they can even improve it further by removing the excess of ice in it. Overall I am very satisfied and would like to return next time with my friends!

Yelp
Just awesome. I had once scoop each of their coconut icecream and vegan dark chocolate icecream (if these were frozen yogourt, I didn't notice, as I didn't notice any of their selections being frozen yogourt, but see it on their site... ok lol) and had them in a waffle cone. Waffle cone was plain, cheap, nothing brag worthy, but wasn't bad either. Just would have preffered a more interesting type since it's their only cone I saw, meaning they bulk up on it, and it was expensive. Their coconut icecream was honestly amazing. I've never seen coconut ice cream before, and they let me test it first. The coconutflavor doesn't hit you until later, and it's really good, nice and clean, not overly sweet, but I wouldn't want to eat it by itself, it needs a buddy flavor. I tried their vegan dark chocolate ice cream, and it was very strong and sweet. It was good, but I wouldn't want to eat it alone, it needs a buddy. So I figured to team them up together in a waffle cone. The coconut helped tone down the chocolate, but the chocolate overpowered the coconut and ended up tasting like a regular chocolate and vanilla combo, which is a waste of these really great and unique flavors, that taste homemade. Paying 5$ for 2 scoops on a waffle cone, I would have preffered a more interesting cone. Waffle cones are my favorite, but this one was too cheap. Maybe if it was a little thicker and had it's top rim dipped in chocolate or at least had fudge in the bottom corner inside of the cone, then that would have been really worth the money and had been exciting. They gave me a stamp card, where if i buy a total of 9 items then I get a free item at the end. I wouldn't mind coming back here, but I'll have to look for an excuse since I don't visit often, and this ice cream place isn't exactly what I would call worth traveling a 30 min drive for, eventhough it is better than most I've tried.

Yelp
A lovely little place offering gelato and sorbet as well as grilled cheese and a taste of fusion. I had a cone of soft ice cream, and I think it was a little too soft. I love mango sorbet. The pistachio is a must try. It is nothing like the one you find any place else. It is very creamy and nutty. You can taste the fine grinded nut.

Yelp
Happened to pass by this place yesterday, and the adorable decor pulled me in. I got a cappuccino and a chocolate chip cookie. Both were excellent, and the staff there were super nice. I'm pretty particular about where I go to eat.... ambiance and quality of food and service are really important to me. And of all the places I passed by during my recent visit to Montreal, and while walking down this particular promenade, this was one of the nicest places I saw.

Yelp
I have been back here a couple times since my initial review and after today I need to update my rating, I am definitely out of the armoire and officially a fan. They now roast their own nuts and make their own fresh fruit purees for their gelatos and the flavours are super complex and interesting and so so good. The dragon bowl had the fat Israeli couscous that I love and all these lightly pickled veggies - and I know that it's weird to go from talking about delicious locally made gelato to coucous, but that is what make this sweet little spot on the cool low end of St Hubert Promenade so great: crazy tasty healthy meals like burritos and grilled cheese alongside homemade softserve and gelato. They make the classic gelato flavours all the time, including a heart warming dark chocolate, and then they play around with some innovative heart breakers like my new beloved, the smoked pine. L'Armoire is my new favourite lunch place in the neighbourhood and a super sweet addition to the Montreal frozen sweets scene. Oh and to update my old review - they do have a bathroom, it's in the back. They make their espresso gelato using Dispatch coffee instead of St Henri now and the organe and lemon gelatos are crazy punchy and flavourful now that they are 100% made in house with real fruit.

Yelp
Very cute small ice cream place at Saint-Hubert Plaza. Staffs are super friendly. I had their gelato ice cream and it was really good. My friends tried their sandwich ice cream in which you can choose the gelato flavor you want and have it with their caramel cookies! I also tried one of their grilled cheese and I'd love it.

Lucy B.

Yelp
Love this little place! Truly homemade gelatos and sorbets made by people with an avid interest in trying new flavours and flavour combos. My only unhappy criticism is that their gelatos involving nuts (hazelnut, pistachio) are made with "nut butter" and I find the grainy texture a turn off. Perhaps others will enjoy it though. Don't forget to get your loyalty card if you live near by!

Yelp
I just discovered it after having a diner with locals. They told me that it's the best ice-cream in town. It's a tiny shop, full of customers. A huge five scoop cup, 2 chocolate flavors dark and 55% cacao , lemon cake, vanilla from Madagascar, and citrus covered with caramel sauce. The guy serving me was very polite; I tasted several flavors, and finally I was surprised by the low price at the counter.

Andrea L.

Yelp
I was pouting a little when I found the café I wanted to try closed for their summer holidays, but then I came across L'armoire à glaces and thought, hey, I can have ice cream for lunch! Big smiles, the pout was gone. The flavour I picked was Québec strawberries and basil, very creamy, very delicious, and a perfect pick-me-up on a hot summer day. I had a cone (no plastic to recycle) but I was pleased to see that they collect (& presumably wash/reuse) their bowls and spoons. Service was a bit slow but friendly.

Magnus D.

Yelp
Probably the best ice cream ever! Not too sweet. They use real fruit, berries and nuts. Real taste! Worth going across town for.

Jehanne A.

Yelp
Good ice creams if you don't like them too creamy. It's always nice to be able to try sample before setting your heart on one or two flavors and the samples were quite generous too. In the end, I had the Dulce de leche (maybe not milky enough for me) and the Maple syrup (really good but then I looove all things maple syrup-y!). My friend had the vanilla which was very good and tasted like actual vanilla for once and the mango sorbet which we found refreshing. They also have others specialties and since I've spotted it, I will definitely be back to try one of these big maple syrup doughnut!

Kevin N.

Yelp
It's just too good. Have a friend who used to work there, and she would always bring me a cup of ice cream. The mojito flavored one is so good. Also got to try espresso, chocolate, and hazelnut. My least favorite would be chocolate, but still liked it. Would definitely recommend this place!

J W.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this artisan café/ice cream shop on Saint Hubert and tried their handmade bluets and basil sorbet. OMG. I'll be back soon.

Paul K.

Yelp
The best gelato I've had in Montreal, on par with places in Italy. They have unique flavours that I haven't seen anywhere else and also vegan options (the coconut is fantastic).

Natalie Z.

Yelp
Best ice cream I've had in the city. They often change their flavors, but dark chocolate is my favorite. The strawberry and balsamic is also very good.
