Lavka is a wonderful new addition to the Brickell dining scene, offering Russian and Ukrainian food in a space that feels both welcoming and thoughtfully designed. Located in the building below Rosa Sky, the restaurant sits in a newer, beautiful area and immediately feels like it’s filling a gap that’s been missing in this neighborhood for years.
The menu highlights traditional dishes you don’t often see in Miami. The borscht and chicken kiev stood out as especially authentic. I ordered the chicken kyiv for lunch, served with mashed potatoes and broccolini, and it was excellent. Lightly breaded, full of flavor, and cooked perfectly, it was a fantastic introduction to the dish. The flavors were comforting and bold without being heavy. I also noticed the Napoleon desserts on display, which looked stunning, even though I didn’t try one this time.
One of the most unique aspects of Lavka is the small market attached to the restaurant. It’s stocked with Russian, Ukrainian, and Siberian products, including cheeses, fish, dumplings, and packaged goods you rarely find in the U.S. It felt special and genuinely meaningful, especially for anyone from Eastern Europe.
Service had a few minor delays, but nothing that detracted from the overall experience. I would absolutely return and bring others with me. Lavka fills an important niche in Brickell, and I hope it’s here to stay.
