Dine for Under $10 Around Nashville | Eater Nashville

"Another Nolensville Pike favorite, Las Americas Market and Restaurant’s claim to fame is their pupusas, a thick griddle cake that originated in Central America. The best news? They run under $3 each, leaving plenty of room to add on other Mexican favorites like a pollo tostada or carne asada quesadilla." - Kellie Walton

11 Nashville Latin American Restaurants Worth Visiting | Eater Nashville

"Part grocery store, part eatery, Las Americas has a deft handle on Central American fare, including the Salvadoran pupusa, a thick corn tortilla stuffed with savory fillings like cheese and pork. The whole pescado frito (whole fried fish) is also a standout—but be sure to ask for it with a side of their curtido, a cabbage relish that’s been fermented with vinegar." - Jackie Gutierrez-Jones

A friend recently treated me to lunch and a new favorite for pupusas. I had a steak Tostada and a mixed pupusa my friend had the mixed pupusa and the house special burrito. Everything was delicious and the beers were ice cold. The service was excellent as well, we were well attended to.

I’ve been in Nashville 5 years and this was hands down the best tacos I’ve had in a while. Service was friendly and attentive. The place was clean and the nicest hard wood carved furniture.

My husband and I love pupusas and just Salvadoran food in general. We happened to be in the area and we’re so glad we stopped. The pupusas were huge and filling. I got 1 mixta and my husband got a few plain cheese. We will definitely be back!

This is the kinda place you don’t wanna write a review for so that it stays under the radar, but I feel too much guilt not spreading the good word, and the word is GOOD. I have eaten here countless times, it is my all time favourite restaurant I’ve ever been to. If I could eat here, and only here, until I died, it would be pure heaven. Best tacos you can get outside of that one taco truck you know of in Mexico, or just the best tacos you’ll ever have. All while being unbelievably cheap. Their pupusas give me strength to go on, their tostada de ceviche gives me faith, and their tacos continually fill my spirit. Additionally, every staff member they’ve ever had has been so kind, helpful, and joyous. I have so many priceless memories with my best friends and family here, I genuinely hope it’s the last meal I ever have. Please, do yourself a favour and go as many times as possible before your body can carry you no further, because a stomach full of Las Americas will carry over into the great beyond🙏

This isn’t your “standard” Mexican Restaurant, much closer to a Central American Restaurant. Was very interesting to see some of the offerings mirroring Filipino foods (Adobo and Bistik) that I love. The attached grocery carries a great selection of Spanish and Central American foods. First off…had to try the taco’s. Love how they use the small, doubled-up soft corn tortillas fresh off the grill. Decided to sample Carnitas, Pollo, and the Al Pastor which was chopped pork with the Adobo sauce…all with some onion and Cilantro garnish. The Pollo was a bit dry so there wasn’t much flavor there…disappointing. The Carnitas was really good, moist and flavorful. The Al Pastor was excellent with the adobo flavoring…the favorite of the three. Next was a mixed Pupusas with beans, pork, and cheese. This Pupusas was one of the best I have ever had…what really put it over the top was the vinegar cold slaw and some sauce. The Pescado Frito was a seasoned whole fish fried with rice, some “salad”, and tortillas. The fish alone was delicious and could be a meal all in itself. Placing some chunks of the fish on a tortilla with the “salad” provided was boring. HOWEVER…highly recommend getting a side of the vinegar cold slaw and putting the slaw and fish on a tortilla with a little sauce…now that was an exceptional combination! The vinegar slaw really complimented the fish…basically had a delicious fish taco! Bottom line…all of the plates were pretty much “licked clean” and we were well on our way to a lunch coma…LOL Service was great and you can’t beat the price for such great food. There are a number of other dishes I still need to try there!

As someone who grew up eating pupusas all the time, I can easily say these are the best pupusas in all of Nashville!

Yelp
Omg read the reviews and had to try and so glad I Did. New to Nashville and had a small grocery/cafe authentic Mexican store in our hometown so we thought it would be hard to find here. This place hits it out of the park. I had the Papusas and the tacos. My husband had the oysters (yes raw oysters) and he said they were fresh and great. He also had the Gorditas and loved them. There were several reviews about iffy services. Ours was great!!!! We will be back no doubt about it.
