Yelp
I just ate here with my husband, and it was an interesting experience, but they don't deserve the crappy reviews they have.
Here's the thing - it's a hole-in-the-wall Salvadorian place - and nobody speaks english. The music is campy karaoke-style latin music, and the ESPN desportes is on the tv's (predictably soccer when we were there).
It isn't fancy - but the servers are very friendly and attentive, and the food was GOOD. The salsa with the chips was unique and tasty, and the carne asada was delicious - I scarfed it down. The wine - not so great, but for $5 I didn't care.
They DID accept my restaurant.com certificate - I showed it on my phone (in the app), they took my phone back to the register and figured it out.
A few things helped: first, my husband is South American, so he could translate a bit. Second, I am used to pointing and gesturing when I'm around people that only speak Spanish, because I don't speak any, and several of my husband's relatives don't know English.
Bottom line: it worked, we enjoyed our food, and I hope the place gets some business and can make some upgrades to the ambiance.
