"Las Cabañas has been in Enid Baez’s family since 1970. Her father, Jose Ramon Baez, used to guide people to the swimming pools inside Toro Negro. 'Vacationers would complain about the lack of good food as they came down from their hikes and my father saw an incredible opportunity,' says Enid. 'He opened Las Cabañas as a chinchorro serving slow cooked ribs and drinks. Now I am keeping the food culture going.'"

This is the best place we have visited in Puerto Rico! The owners are the kindest: we initially only stopped for a coffee and we ended up visiting their kitchen, and they told us about the history of the place. They even gave us some food for the road! And the food was absolutely amazing (I am vegetarian and the owner made sure to respect my wish on what to try). If you pass by, you should definitely get lunch there.

I was terrified going up that mountain.. 😂 😂 That food was sooooooo good.. I was thinking of sleeping there cause I didn't want to go back down 😂 😂.. The stay was outstanding.. I forgot to get a picture with the owners they are so nice... Drinks was on point too that Pina colada and that mojito... The ribs.. The rice! I just wish they could teleport you up there 😂

The place was very nice, Diego was our hostess… took our order and lead us to table number nine… Then the “alcapurrias de cerdo” were amazing-delicious…. Also the “guineitos”, “pernil”, and “costillitas”… Enid & Willie were the best!!! Definetelly we will go back again…

It's a must do while in Puerto Rico ! Then head to Toro Negro! Or go to Hacienda Negron and leave before they close to enjoy a great dinner! The coffee shop is great! Everyone super friendly!

We came here for my husbands birthday and we had a great time The ribs, chicken, pork ends, rice & steamed yuca were all Delish The coffee & dessert were also Excellent Loved the almond cake & gandules cake ( I know it sounds weird, but the gandules cake is yummy). Also, if you want to escape the heat of PR, come up here! It's cool during the day unlike the places in town. This place is on top of a mountain but it's worth the drive up here! The views are phenomenal Highly recommend this place for lunch - it's only open on the weekends The owners are also very nice, greeting customers & making you feel at home.

Usually when writing a review for a restaurant the main topic would obviously be the food. I feel as though I don't need to spend a whole lot of time writing about the food in this establishment. 30 + years of experience speak to the quality and taste of the ribs, pork, chicken, rice and everything else on the menu. Instead, I would like to focus on the service and the atmosphere. The family own restaurant is cozy and inviting. The staff is engaged and extremely friendly. From the owner on down, they ensure your visit is a pleasant one. This place is worth the drive and then some. Great food, environment, service and prices! Cant wait to go BACK!!!
