Mexico's Hauntingly Beautiful Mansion Hotels

"“B+B Hotel” might seem redundant, but Las Casas is truly a little bit of both — it’s more polished and more stylish than most any bed and breakfast, while it’s smaller and more intimate than most any hotel, boutique or otherwise. The rooms and suites are sharply outfitted in shades of white and gray, with the house’s colonial architecture still visible beneath the contemporary, minimalist décor." - Mark Fedeli

Las Casas B+B Hotel

"How did it strike you on arrival? You enter the hotel through a pretty alley and the reception area has a modern, design feel. There's a slightly hipster and exclusive feel of the place. Nice. What’s the crowd like? This hotel attracts a young, relatively well-heeled crowd, mainly from Mexico City, but also some guests from the U.S. and beyond. The good stuff: Tell us about your room. The rooms are modern and spacious with stark white walls and contemporary design features. They're minimalist without feeling cold. We’re craving some deep, restorative sleep. They got us?The beds are large and comfortable; the mattresses are super-thick. How about the little things, like mini bar, or shower goodies. Any of that find its way into your suitcase? All rooms come with A/C, a flat screen TV with cable, bathrobes, and speakers. You may want to sneak the Malin and Goetz bath goodies in your suitcase. Please tell us the bathroom won’t let us down. The bathrooms have a similar modern and trendy design—some have deep free-standing dubs. Maybe the most important topic of all: Wi-Fi. What’s the word?Wi-Fi is free across the entire hotel. Room service: Worth it?There's a high-quality mix of Mexican classics and international dishes. Anything stand out about other services and features? Whether it’s childcare, gyms, spas, even parking—whatever stuck with you.The pool is perfect for cooling off after a day exploring Cuernavaca, and the spa offers a great selection of treatments. The restaurant and bar are popular hangouts for the young and trendy of Cuernavaca. What was most memorable—or heartbreaking—about your stay? The great location and the beautiful rooms combine to make this an excellent hotel. Bottom line: worth it, and why? It's worth it for someone looking for a trendy place to stay in a great location." - Susannah Rigg

"Cuernavaca is a destination that’s most popular among residents of Mexico City, which makes sense, given that it’s just two hours’ drive from the capital. But international travelers will find a stop here makes a delighful counterpoint to the Distrito Federal — and for a laid-back, low-key luxury boutique experience you could hardly do better than Las Casas B+B Hotel, an 11-room hideaway right in the heart of Cuernavaca’s pocket-sized downtown." - Tablet Hotels

It is rare that a short stay for a business trip makes such a positive impression. First, the room was excellent - clean, comfortable, with space to work. Second, the staff was exceptional, pleasant and responsive. I travel frequently for business, and Las Casas B+B stands out as one of the best.

This small hotel is a study in beauty with the most marvelous yet quiet service. Everything was wonderful from the beautiful tea cup of camomile tea they brought to my balcony after my onsite massage to the incredible breakfast each morning. I had the smallest room of my group and it was perfect. I can’t stress enough how relaxing and magical this place is. I want to be back there now.

The staff was so awesome and consistent. We stayed for 6 nights and they provided the best service. The food was outstanding and the menu was great. Cannot say enough good things about our experience and the location was awesome for walking into city center.

Beautiful hotel with very helpful staff and a wonderful restaurant! The breakfasts were excellent with fresh juice and coffee and the rooms are spacious. Lovely pool and spa as well. Will definitely stay there if we are ever in Cuernavaca again.

Visiting from the United States for our honeymoon our stay at La Casas B+B was excellent from start to finish. Due to a flight change we arrived at 8:30 in the morning. Enrique (?) at the front desk said we wouldn't be able to check in until 1 pm but suggested we have breakfast at the restaurant. The food was immaculate and the waiter was so attentive and thoughtful. We spent the day exploring the historic neighborhood until we could check in. Then we relaxed by the stunning pool. We stayed in a king suite. The room was cool and clean and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and had a large soaking tub. We ordered room service from the restaurant again. We had the house sliders and spaghetti Bolognese and were again so impressed. The next day we went to the MMAC (highly recommended!) and then did the very romantic couples spa package with massages and facials. The spa staff provided excellent services and we were so relaxed after. If driving be sure to use the valet service, we parked on the street the first night and got a ticket but Enrique at the front desk even took care of that for us. The service here is unmatched and the hotel is impeccably run. We would return to Cuernavaca just to stay at Las Casas again!

I'll start by saying that this stay was essentially perfect. The front desk folks were simply lovely. They immediately made me feel welcome and like I was an old friend visiting. Gabriel is so charming and funny. He put a smile on my face every time I had a question for him. Marisa is sweet and kind. She has a natural talent for hospitality. Cesar is THE guy for recommendations. He's smart. He's polished. He's refined. Seriously, show up without a plan and just ask Cesar to map out your stay.||The hotel itself is a sanctuary in the city. Every direction is a picturesque view. The landscaping evokes lush serenity. The restaurant feels high end and exclusive without being pretentious. The rooms have a peculiar modern antiquity to them that's hard to explain. Location is absolutely prime. It's smack in the middle of town and you can walk to most points of interest in under 5 minutes.||I really appreciated the Malin + Goetz and Molton Brown toiletries. They're actually the brands I use at home for my personal care!|The food was delicious, I took so many pictures of my food!|Bartenders are top notch. My absolute favorite was the Cucumber Refresher (pro tip: they can make it virgin, which in my opinion was the better version). I think I ordered it everyday.|The dirty martini was surprisingly perfect (and I say that as a self proclaimed martini snob). Zero notes for the bar. Keep up the excellent work.||Lastly, I want to give a shoutout to the housekeeping staff. I wanted fresh flowers for my room and one of the ladies went out and ran the errand for me herself. The arrangement turned out beautiful.||All in all, Las Casas B+B will definitely be the place I stay anytime I return to Cuernavaca. I already miss it.

The room was bright, spacious, and with a great pool view. The staff welcomed us with a smile from the very beginning and never felt unattended. We ordered room service from the conveniently located restaurant House. We were able to get a dinner reservation and they assisted in getting a board with a personalized message next to our table. Reservations are also encouraged for pool use, the weather worked out great for us to be able to use it and only one other family used the pool while we were there. Strongly recommend for its central location. It was close enough for us to visit surrounding magic town of Tepoztlan.

I cannot rate this place higher. Such thoughtful decor, quiet rooms and an amazing menu. We went during the weeks and enjoyed feeling like we were the only ones there with attentive but not intrusive staff||||Spa is amazing. Just do ||||The food is really spectacular, I was surprised how good it was. I would recommend going to breakfast or dinner even if not staying there.||||Thank you for making our two deals feel like a week’s worth of relaxing

Yelp
I love this place . This is what Bread and Breakfast hotels are made of. If you are in Mexico or anywhere near Cuernavaca and you are planning to get away , this is the place you want to be . It's beautiful , serene , a breath of fresh air. They will take good care of you here without being intrusive . The hotel is white , everything is white . I don't know how they maintain it but it gives it an air of grandeur and beauty you won't see anywhere else . The rooms are huge . We stayed in the 03. Huge king size bed , wide bathroom and shower (no bath) . Stayed here for 3 nights . All the rooms have a large common lounge area or balcony where you can sit and read or have your meetings . The rooms also have a an air conditioner and a ceiling fan. The ceilings are really high so the air takes a while to circulate but once it does you are in for a treat even in summer . In the 03 room I noticed some noise at night from the 100 bars / restaurants on the corner of the hotel . Okay maybe not 100 but there's a lot of them . There's also a DJ in the hotel spinning on Friday nights so if you are one of those light sleepers , shut all your windows (bathroom and bedroom ) and that should help . They also have ear plugs free on the both sides of the bed stand so the noise shouldn't be a problem . They have two pools here . One is in the middle of the restaurant (for the extroverts ), there's a more secluded one on the other side of the hotel for is introverts . You'll find it. The menu here is robust . Breakfast is free . They have Mexican options ( chillaquilles and such ) American options (scrambled eggs ) and healthy options (granola , fruits , oatmeal ) . The dinner menu is robust too. Tried the pork belly, lentil soup, didn't care for the Caesar salad but that's just me (too much mayo) . Prices range from 7-10 usd per meal. There was paella on the weekend when I was there . The other reason you should stay here is that it's central and only a walking distance from all the tourist places you want to go here . It's opposite the palacio de cortez, right beside the zocalo, town square , market places , two minutes walk from the Robert Brady Museum, the cathedrals , it's all one big square . I found this place on trip advisor and I'll gladly recommend , give some pointers and even come back . It's even more beautiful at night when they have lights in all the trees and candles lit up everywhere . It will convert the Un-romantics ! Don't forget to tip the waiters , i noticed nobody was doing that . They are ever so attentive without being intrusive and they all speak some level of English. If you buy a bottle of wine outside the hotel, they will open it for you at the bar . PS- I looked at other hotels on trip advisor and getting here Iv seen two other ones I looked at . I'm glad I picked this place . Take a trip to Tepoztlan to see the mountains of you have time .The hotel will call you a cab that will wait for you for 3 hours and bring you back . We paid 600 pesos. It's a magical experience.

Yelp
Do not stay here if you're planning on having any guests over, because they will not allow it. We had an event and they refused to let our friend, and hair and makeup artists into the room. Staff members gave contradicting information. We had a wedding to attend, and they ended up making my guest change in the lobby bathroom. The food and drinks were good, but I would not stay here again nor would I recommend it to anyone else.

Yelp
Came for the spa, massage was perfect. Then stopped at the restaurant for a drink and ended up having many drinks and dinner. It was so good. The food is absolutely amazing, chef Karina will blow your mind. From the menu, the vegetarian tacos were out of this world. Service was impeccable as well. Couldn't have picked a better place to celebrate my birthday. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Great, trendy boutique hotel. Spacious, clean rooms. Stay was for 2 nights; rented rooms 03 (huge room, overlooking outdoor dining area), and 08 (large room). I would compare this hotel to a smaller version of the W with a unique Mexican flair. Outdoor dining area is great, with an all white motif throughout the dining area, as is the rest of the hotel. Pool area is small, but very trendy. Nicely apportioned with day beds, lounge chairs, etc. All white motif. Very clean. Very stylish.

Yelp
I have been to this hotel and restaurant a couple of times the past 2 years since it has become my favorite spot in Cuernavaca! I was there this past weekend celebrating my birthday and had a blast with my boyfriend and friends! The hotel and restaurant keep getting better and better!! This time I was surprised that they had opened a Spa (The White).. I was very impressed and it was a very nice birthday gift for myself :) The Staff is friendly, warm and very customer service oriented. I can't wait to go back!
