Pato Rodriguez is the founder of Las Chicas de la Tres—the “tres” referring to the number of the loading dock where her food stall is situated at the Central Market of Buenos Aires. Her food is as good an introduction as any to the ethos of Argentine cuisine, which is usually associated with beef but, according to Ms. Rodriguez, is all about “mucho queso.” And she means it: Her signature potato tortilla, three to four inches deep and cut like a melty pie, makes one want to say adios to the diet in favor of the “mozzarella effect” that Ms. Rodriguez sells so convincingly.

Tucked in a wholesale fruit and produce market outside the city, this stall was made famous on the Netflix show. Pato and Romy welcomed us and gave us a whole experience crafting a special meal where we tried everything including local wines. So special and memorable, AND delicious!!!

Such an incredible and memorable experience that completely made our Argentina trip! Pato and Romi are such kind and genuine souls. They truly appreciate each and every patron that dines at Las Chicas de la 3 and always strive to go above and beyond. My friend and I were the only tourists visiting for lunch and Pato made us feel completely at home. She explained the entire tasting menu and curated special dishes for my friend who has a garlic and onion allergy. We visited fine dining establishments in Buenos Aires that simply would not accommodate that restriction but Pato leveraged her incredible culinary talent to create a delicious garlic and onion free empanada. I have since returned to Canada but I still reminisce on the incredible food we had.

It was honestly one of the highlights of our time in BA. It’s well worth taking the time to travel from the centre and visit them… what they’ve created is something truly special. Pato greeted us warmly like old friends - she asked if she could curate what we ate… it was a culinary experience like no other. The famous tortilla was of course a highlight but everything was delicious. We will return on our next trip to BA, which is some years away! (We visited in June - so sorry for the late review!! ❤️)

We are all about great food, so we took a 40-minute Uber ride from Buenos Aires to visit *Las Chicas de la 3* and try Pato's incredible dishes. Her restaurant doubles as a wholesale fruit and veggie market, where top chefs source their ingredients—and it’s no wonder why. Pato’s food has earned her a spot on the Netflix Argentina series, and chefs from all over rave about her. From the moment we arrived, Pato was so warm and welcoming, explaining each dish with passion, taking photos with us, and making sure we felt at home. What impressed me most was how hands-on she is—still cooking, serving, and connecting with every customer. I’ve never experienced such genuine hospitality in Argentina. Watching her work, you can tell she truly cares about her craft and her guests. The journey there and back was definitely a mission, but 100% worth it. Huge thanks to Pato and Romi for an unforgettable experience. Not all Netflix chefs are this kind and down-to-earth—it’s clear they pour their hearts into everything they do. ❤️

Las Chicas de la 3 GOOD - food, service and fair value BAD - next to nothing - it's a modest market stall, but it didn't matter Having watched the Netflix series Street Food Latin America: Buenos Aires, I was already a huge fan of Pato and Romi. Getting to meet them and enjoy their food was the delight of my Buenos Aires vacation. They are both wonderful. Pato greeted me like an old friend. Her English is quite good; I was comfortable as a visitor. Their food is delicious - comfort food. We sampled the emapanda, the torilla papas (must try) and the fried veal/beef sandwich - delicious. If visiting, please go - it's like missing some of Argentina's joy if you miss it.

The location of the stand for las chicas de las 3 is inside a small hallway under signage #28 & #30.  You should take a taxi/Uber/Didi there as the place is not so close to the public transportation.  I was able to do half and half. Got there by Didi (cheapest at that time) and was able to find my way to the bus stop.  Thankfully, they did not have a que.  The people came after I was sat and started First and foremost, Pato (short for Patricia) is as genuine as she appears on the Netflix program. When I saw the show, I wondered if her demeanor was just acting- nope she is as kind and as spontaneous as she appears on the show. They don't have a menu for tourists/visitors. What Pato will do is split the food for you so you can all have a taste of it. I was a solo traveller so she started a box for the leftovers.  I was fed 4 half empanadas (The other went into the box for later) 1 portion of their signature tortilla de papa, a slice of pizza with pesto sauce.  I managed to finish the slice of pizza but the tortilla went to the box as well. Before she starts feeding you, she will thank you very warmly and welcome you to her restaurant. Asking where you are from, if you have any allergies, dietary concerns, ECT. She has the speech down but she delivers it very warmly and not robotic at all. She shows that she cares for you and she will accommodate you.  For example when I arrived, there was a tortilla already started but instead of starting me with that, she instead started with empanadas while a new tortilla was being made fresh in the back by romi, Pato's partner. The empanadas I had the opportunity to eat were: jamón y queso (ham and cheese), carne cortada con cuchillo (meat cut/filleted with knife) The Salsa criolla had some kick to it-that is compared to the level of heat in Argentinian food.  It was a very good condiment to add to the empanadas.  The Pesto sauce was very good that she added to the pizza-she explained that it does not have any nuts added to it-which came as a surprise since I thought pine nuts (or other nuts) are the key ingredient to make it extra tasty-I thought but proven wrong. all in all was very good experience and worth the visit.  Mind you it is not a restaurant most people would make it as it is not in an easily reachable destination but if you are adventurous and  want to kill a morning totally worth the trip.  Five starts in my book!

Getting here can be a journey but it's worth it! My in-laws absolutely loved it, after having watched the show on Netflix, and were super excited to talk to the ladies running this restaurant. They were so excited and had a conversation with them while placing their order and being served the food. When lady found out we were visiting from Peru, she made a special salsa combining the tomato salsa and some limes just for us. The family was thrilled with the visit and individual attention. That being said, be prepared for a long line and a long car ride to get here. If you are a tourist using ride share apps, it may take a while to find someone willing to drop you off out here or pick you up, and taxis may try to rip you off for the long ride. Also, they may drop you off really far away from the building this is in, or come pick you up from a random area and cancel if they can't find you. Just a heads up before you go, but don't be discouraged, you should come out and give this one a try! The food is delicious!
